#5 I am a retired ATSS and I know for a fact that the biggest hold up on FAA modernization is the ATC union. More people in more positions means more union money. I wish people would wake up to the fact that the union doesn't care as long as the people are there to pay their dues. Plus ATCs are NOT the most tech savvy

#6 Didnt they use the same narrative to end the shuttle program?

What happened with American Logistics and Procurement?

They can support sex change clinics in Timbuktu but cant afford a widget factory to keep our shuttle and air traffic systems afloat. I say this knowing the only reason I am proficient in COBOL is b/c the govt is 50 years behind in their technology (except in black budget programs) but at the same time, if we can afford to fund the Taliban, we should be able to afford to manufacture legacy widgets to keep our stuff working. So aggravating.

#7 Fix the systems and use what Amazon and other remote providers have to show you. This is bullshit and everyone knows it.

#8 Legacy systems required a security in the cold war. COBOL is "unhackable" If coded right but I know nothing compared to you. It is like the old army Bureaucrats - word perfect or ms word. Resistance to change and safety.

Phony baloney jobs with no mission.

Thanks for this!
