Gaza govt files complaint to UN over strikes
2011-04-09
[Ma'an] Spokesman of the Gazoo government Taher An-Nunu said Friday that he had sent an official letter of complaint to the UN "and other involved parties" following the death of five civilians in Gazoo during the day.

Israeli air and artillery fire hit the coastal enclave ten times during the day. An Israeli military statement acknowledged the deaths, saying it "regrets that the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terrorist organization chooses to operate from within its civilian population, using it as a 'human shield'."

An-Nunu said Israel was taking the opportunity while the world was "preoccupied with other events," in the near and far east, and said that by "carrying out a series of escalations of attacks."

He added, that Israel had shown that Israel had shown that it does "not respect the state of calm on which all factions had agreed on," referring to a proposed ceasefire deal announced by Hamas officials at 11 p.m. on Thursday night.

After a series of overnight air strikes killed four, Hamas fighters resumed launching projectiles, saying in a statement that six projectiles and three mortars had been launched Friday afternoon toward Israeli military targets near Rafah.

"We will not stand silent," he said of the escalation.

Earlier in the day a Hamas official accused Israel of using white phosphorus weapons during the day, a claim that was later denied by an Israeli military front man.

White phosphorus weapons were used on civilian areas by Israeli forces during their 2008-9 offensive, Operation Cast Lead. International conventions say the weapons are prohibited for use in civilian areas. In open-area combat, the phosphorus is used to light up targets.

In Gazoo, doctors who noted abnormal burns on patients being admitted during the war alerted officials, prompting an investigation.

Gaza govt: Settler attackers may not be Palestinian
2011-03-14
[Ma'an] Paleostinians may not be responsible for killing a family of five Israelis in Itamar settlement overnight Friday, the Gazoo government said Sunday.

Israeli authorities immediately blamed Paleostinians for the attack, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Paleostinian Authority of "daily incitement" against Israel in his response to the killings.

However,
The well-oiled However...
Gazoo government front man Taher An-Nunu said the Israeli government should not rule out the possibility that the attack was perpetrated by Israeli criminals.
Now there's a surprise. I thought they were going to blame it on Saudi infiltrators or Somali pirates.
Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, has denied any involvement in the attack.

A shadowy faction calling itself the "Imad Mughniyya Group" grabbed credit for the attack but Israeli authorities have dismissed the group's claims in the past. It has grabbed credit for other operations in the past that may have been the work of others.

So far, no other faction has claimed involvement.

An-Nunu warned Israel against using the killings to justify an escalation in violence against the Gazoo Strip.

He said that relocating Israel's domestic crises toward incitement against Paleostinians was "unacceptable political blackmail."

Within 24 hours of the attack, Israeli ministers met and decided to approve a huge expansion in Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank.

Settlers have launched a series of attacks on Paleostinians across the West Bank, storming villages, harassing residents in their homes, smashing shops and throwing rocks at Paleostinian cars.

The international community recognizes that building Jewish-only housing on occupied Paleostinian land is illegal according to international law and the Geneva Convention, and has repeatedly called on Israel to halt construction.

Israel's refusal led to the collapse of the last round of negotiations in September.

Hamas orders Gaza security forces to enforce truce
2011-01-14
[Ma'an] Gazoo's Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, rulers on Thursday ordered the security forces to ensure orc groups observed a truce on firing rockets at Israel a day after the factions agreed to comply.

Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh "issued instructions to the ministry of interior and to security chiefs to preserve the national consensus among Paleostinian factions in the Gazoo Strip for its protection," said an official statement, referring to the truce agreement.

The statement was read out by government front man Taher An-Nunu after a top-level meeting between Haniyeh and his ministers with the heads of the security and police forces in the Gazoo Strip.

Late on Wednesday, Hamas officials had met with the main orc groups who had agreed to observe "national understanding" about a period of calm, and to avoid doing anything likely to provoke a strong Israeli reaction.

At the meeting, Hamas passed on a message from Egypt and other Arab leaders about the threat of a new Israeli operation in response to a rise in rocket fire from Gazoo.

Earlier a Hamas minister told AFP the enclave's rulers would be sure to protect the calm.

"The national understanding among the factions means they won't give Israel any reason to make war on Gazoo," he said, as Hamas security forces fanned out along the northern and eastern sectors of the border to enforce the truce.

"The government will protect this understanding because we don't want another tragedy to befall the Paleostinian people," he said.

"Now Gazoo is quieter than it has been since 2007 and Israel knows this."

The deployment of security personnel began overnight and continued Thursday, with witnesses and an AFP correspondent confirming Hamas had beefed up its forces along the border east of Gazoo City, as well as to the north and were checking all cars on roads leading to the border.

In past weeks, Gazoo Islamic fascisti have fired scores of rockets into Israel, prompting a flurry of retaliatory air strikes and raising fears of another massive operation along the lines of the 2008-9 war.

Medics: 1 dead in Gaza airstrike
2011-01-12
[Ma'an] Israeli warplanes struck southern Gazoo on Tuesday, killing one Paleostinian and injuring a second, medics said.

Gazoo medical services front man Adham Abu Salmia identified the dear departed as Muhammad An-Najjar, 25.

Witnesses said Israeli forces targeted An-Najjar as he was riding his cycle of violence east of Khan Younis.

Abu Salmia said a passenger on the cycle of violence was injured and taken to the Nasser Hospital.

The Israeli military said it targeted An-Najjar in a joint operation between air and ground forces.

An-Najjar was an operative of Islamic Jihad and "involved in planning a massive terror attack in the heart of Israel," the army said in a statement.

"A direct hit was confirmed," the statement said.

Earlier Tuesday, Gazoo government front man Taher An-Nunu called on Paleostinian factions operating in the Strip to comply with "what has been agreed on," seemingly implying the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-led government would enforce an unofficial cease fire with Israel.

An-Nunu said the Gazoo government was in talks with local contacts and on an international level to avoid a full-scale Israeli offensive on the besieged coastal enclave.

Right-wing Israeli ministers have urged their government to respond to projectiles fired from Gazoo with tough military action.

Tension along the Gazoo-Israel border has heightened in recent weeks, with an increase in projectiles launched from Gazoo and several Israeli Arclight airstrikes shelling sites across the Strip.

Israel: Projectile hits Ashkelon
2011-01-12
(Ma'an) -- Militants in Gazoo on Tuesday launched a projectile into southern Israel, the Israeli military said.

The projectile landed in Ashkelon Shore Regional Council but caused no damage or injuries, an Israeli military spokeswoman said.

On Sunday night, Israeli warplanes dropped missiles on sites in the northern and southern Gazoo Strip.

The army said the strikes were in response to "intense rocket fire in the past 72 hours."

Right-wing Israeli ministers have called on the government to respond to projectile fire with tough military action.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces carried out a targeted liquidation near Khan Younis in the southern Gazoo Strip.

The military said 25-year-old Muhammad An-Najjar was planning a "massive terror attack" inside Israel.

The Gazoo government on Tuesday urged factions operating in the Strip to comply with "what has been agreed on," in an apparent attempt to enforce the unofficial ceasefire.

Spokesman for the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-led government Taher An-Nunu said talks were ongoing on a local and international level to avoid another Israeli war on the besieged coastal enclave.

Israel's last full-scale offensive, Operation Cast Lead, claimed the lives of around 1,400 Paleostinians, most of whom were civilians.

Israel said the war was in response to rocket and mortar fire from the Strip into southern Israel.

2010-12-25
[Ma'an] Prime Minister in Gazoo Ismail Haniyeh has decided to reshuffle his cabinet, a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, official said Friday.

Hamas front man Taher An-Nunu said Haniyeh formed a special committee to meet with factions and national figures to offer them positions in the new government.

"Hanieyah designated Kahlil Al-Haya to head the committee with Ismail Al-Ashqar and Yousef Rezqa, Haniyeh's political advisor, as members," An-Nunu said.

Hamas, Fatah applaud Human Rights Council
2009-10-17
Ma'an -- Hamas leader in exile Khaled Mash'al insisted on Friday that the international community bring Israel to court "locally and internationally" for what he termed crimes against Palestinians.

"We welcome the vote on Goldstone's report," he added in a televised interview. "We consider it a victory for the Palestinians."

Meanwhile, de facto government spokesman Taher An-Nunu expressed appreciation and gratitude to each country that supported the resolution, particularly Egypt, the envoy of which rejected a delay proposed by France.

However, the spokesman said he was astonished that the PLO envoy focused on both parties in the conflict as if they were equal, rather than solely discussing the Israeli assault, which other nations considered more important.

An-Nunu added that his government expected Israeli military leaders to be taken to court "as they are war criminals."

The Palestinian Authority also welcomed the report's endorsement.

According to Fatah Central Committee member Mohammad Dahlan, "Endorsement of the Goldstone report is a victory."

In a statement, he added that "the vote at the Human Rights Council is the first step toward bringing Israeli war criminals - wherever they are - to the international court."

Ashraf Jum'a: Al-Aqsa Brigades still part of Fatah despite truce-breaking attack
2008-06-30
Ma'an – Ashraf Jum'a, a Fatah-affiliated member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) denied a report on Tuesday that Fatah had withdrawn organizational support for its military wing, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, after the organization launched homemade projectiles at Israel in violation of a Hamas-Israel ceasefire in Gaza.

According to Jum'a, the accusation that Fatah had withdrawn support for its fighters came from Taher An-Nunu, a spokesperson for the Hamas-run de facto government of the Gaza Strip.

Jum'a, while reaffirming that the Al-Aqsa Brigades are a part of the Fatah movement, called on Fatah's fighters to abide by the Egyptian-brokered truce. He said Fatah, the Palestinian Authority, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas support the truce.

Jum'a also demanded that the de facto government release Mohammad Abu Ermaneh (known as Abu Qusay), the spokesperson of the Al-Aqsa Brigades in Gaza. According to Jum'a, Hamas-allied security forces arrested Abu Qusay earlier on Sunday.

Abu Qusay was the spokesperson who first claimed responsibility on behalf of the Al-Aqsa Brigades for the truce-breaking projectile attack.
