Major Taliban offensive repulsed in the strategic Kunduz province |

[Khaama] A major Taliban ...Arabic for students... offensive on the strategic Kunduz province has been repulsed by the Afghan national defense and security forces, inflicting heavy loss on the Taliban murderous Moslems. According to the local government officials, the Taliban Death Eaters launched a coordinated attack on Dasht-e-Archi district earlier on Saturday, targeting the district from several angles. The officials further added that the attack was repulsed by the Afghan cops who were on alert regarding the possible attack. The provincial government media office in a statement also confirmed the attack and said at least fourteen Death Eaters were killed after the Afghan forces responded to the Taliban fire. The statement further added that several key commanders of the group were among those killed and at least nine others were maimed. The key Taliban figures killed during the shootout have been identified as Ismail Fidayi, Qari Jalat, Nazir Ahmad, Mawlavi Ghafar, and Sher Alam who originally hailed from Badakhshan province and were sent to Kunduz for the attack. The other Lions of Islam killed during the festivities have been identified as Janatullah, commander Mohammad Agha also famous as Mudasir, Qari Zia ul Haq, Qari Nader, Zakir, Ahmad, Mohammadullah, Sedaqat, and Ibrahim who originally hailed from the same district of Dasht-e-Archi, while Qari Imam who was killed during the festivities was hailing from Imam Sahib district, the statement said. The provincial government also added that the security forces did not suffer any casualties during the festivities. In the meantime, the Taliban group claim that several security personnel were killed or maimed during the offensive, a claim which has been rejected by the local officials. |

![]() The acting head of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) media department, Najib Danish, said the operation was conducted around 11 pm local time in the vicinity of Joi Naw and other areas of Dand-e-Ghori. He said the snuffies killed during the operation have been identified as Mawlavi Lal and four Taliban capos identified as Haji Sher Alam, Qari Janbaz, Qari Shahabuddin, and Qari Ismail. According to the group, the five senior Taliban leaders were playing a key role in leading the insurgency of the group in Baghlan province. He also added that a number of other snuffies were also killed during the operation but did not disclose the exact number. This comes as the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Tuesday that the military commission of the group for Baghlan was incarcerated Please don't kill me! during a special operation. Taliban Financing War Through Illegal Taxes |

Farmers and members of the provincial council in the northern province of Baghlan said Sunday that the Taliban have imposed illegal taxes on them to finance their war. They said that the Taliban has ordered that for every 70 kilogram of wheat, seven kgs must be given to the Taliban as usher (tax). Farmers said that the Taliban issue them forms after collecting the tax. "Taliban collects tax and gives forms, they collect seven kg wheat from each 70 kg," said a local farmer Khawja Habib. "Taliban ask people for taxes, they collect one pack of wheat or more than that sometimes," a local resident Alam said. They called on the government to address the issue. "Taliban collect tax and dominate," another resident Gul Mir said. "Taliban collects taxes and the government does not take action, people are forced to do whatever the Taliban order," farmer Sher Alam said. Similar reports have surfaced about tax collection by the Taliban in areas under their control in the past. "The Taliban impose a tax on people to get funding to continue the fight against government. The highway is under the control of Taliban, all villages are under control of the Taliban and they collect tax," said Shasulhaq Barakzai, a member of the provincial council. It is said that currently the Taliban control at least 100 villages in Baghlan. |

Taliban supporters met in Kabul Hotel to speak against Afghan forces |

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A group of individuals affiliated with the Taliban group recently met in Intercontinental Hotel to speak against the Afghan cops who are currently busy in clearing operations in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan. A source privy of the development told Khaama Press that the individuals met on Thursday in a gathering organized in Intercontinental Hotel to launch a media campaign against Afghan forces, accusing them of cutting the trees and attacking the houses of local residents. The source speaking on the condition of anonymity further added that the individuals are directly affiliated with the Taliban group and the gathering was organized in a bid to prevent military operation in Dand-e-Ghori district. The gathering was organized by an individual identified as Sardar, brother of a Taliban leader Mawlavi Mamoor, who is currently serving in Pul-e-Charkhi prison of Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the Worldand didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... According to the official, other individuals involved in organizing the event, are Haji Sher Alam, also known as Maso Khan and Sardar who are linked with Masto Khan's cousin, serving with Taliban group in Dand-e-Ghor district. The three individuals are working under Mawlvi Helal, Taliban's shadow district governor for Pul-e-Khumri city, the source said, adding that Sardar and Masto Khan were tasked to organize a demonstration and a presser in Baghlan with the support of Kharullah Shenwari. The sources also added that Masto Khan was looking to obtain arms and ammunition in exchange for the freedom of three police offices kidnapped from Baghlan province earlier. Masto Khan is also involved in destroying electricity pylons in Baghlan province, the source said, adding that he has filmed the areas destroyed during the festivities and has instructed his followers to use them against the Afghan forces. |

Sources said that doctors at the Titterkhel health facility were not present on duty when the bodies were taken there for medico-legal formalities. During the hearing, the victim's father Sher Alam said neither the ANP leader, nor his guards, were involved in the murder of his son, and that he had been pressured into registering an First Information Report against Mian Iftikhar by "enraged protesters" during a clash between ANP and PTI activists. "People put pressure on me. Neither Mian Iftikhar nor his guards murdered my son," he told Nowshera Judicial Magistrate Sheraz Tariq, adding that he was overcome by emotion at the time. Accused Mian Iftikhar in court said he "could never think of killing anyone". "It would have been like killing my own son," he said. He also said he would do his best to bring Habibullah's murderer to justice. The court ordered a judicial lockup for Mian Iftikhar following the hearing. The ANP leader will remain in jail until he is granted bail. |

Mauala Sher Alam Faroqi was a close associate and class fellow of Mulana Gul Naseeb Khan. 'PTI government responsible' The JUI-F has held the PTI government responsible for the death of their leader. The provincial president of the JUI-F Mulana Gul Naseeb Khan in a statement said that the K-P government has failed to protect its citizens. JI General Secretary Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk said the provincial government is not serious in controlling the law and order situation. He said murders and kidnapping for ransom continue unabated. |

It is a stronghold of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. Ubiquitous gang activity and a thriving narcotics industry make Lyari one of the most disturbed places in Karachi, which is really saying a lot.... came as a grim reminder of the assassination of seven people, mostly Baloch, in different parts of the city on Friday. The shootings spread tension in the old city areas, where traders pulled down shutters for fears of violence. In what police described as the first gun attack in the early hours of Monday, four friends sitting near Paan Mandi were targeted. Gunmen riding two or three ![]() All the four victims, supporters of the MQM, were later rushed to the Civil Hospital Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. The police quoted hospital sources as saying that their condition was stable. In yet another gun attack in the early hours of Monday, two workers of the party were targeted near Shoe Market. Sharif Abdul Waheed, 48, and Anisur Rehman, 24, were sitting close to Azeem Plaza on Siddique Wahab Road when gunnies riding motorbikes pulled up there, fired at them and sped away, said a duty officer at the Garden cop shoppe. He added that both men sustained gunshot wounds. Sharif was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital, while Anisur Rehman was admitted for treatment. The police quoted party men as saying that the victims were workers of the MQM Lyari sector's unit 32. Within some hours, another drive-by shooting was reported in the Kharadar area. "This time gunnies have targeted people near Paper Market," said an official at the Kharadar cop shoppe. He added that Mansoor aka Churiwala, 32, and Sohail Sikandar, 28, both workers of MQM unit 30 and residents of Kamil Gali, were sitting near a stall when gunnies riding motorbikes fired at them and fled. The two men sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the CHK, he said. "Mansoor was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while Sohail has been admitted for treatment," he said, adding that doctors described Sohail's condition as serious. In Bihar Colony, a hakim was killed at his clinic in the afternoon, police said. They added that Asim Sohail, 35, was rubbed out inside Ahsan Dawakhana. The police said the hakim had relocated to North Bloody Karachi from Bihar Colony last year. He was an active worker of the MQM in North Bloody Karachi though he maintained a low profile in the old city area, where he ran the Dawakhana. Speaking to Dawn, a police brass hat in the old city areas said that in all the targeted attacks, 9mm pistols were used. He added that police Sherlocks had collected dozens of spent bullet casings at the crime-scenes. After sunset, two men riding a motorbike were targeted on Nishtar Road. One of the victims was struck down in his prime while the other, identified as Zeeshanur Rehman, was rushed to the CHK, where he was admitted for treatment, said SDPO Qaiser Ali Shah. He quoted doctors as saying that Zeeshan's condition was critical. The identification of the dear departed and the victims' political affiliation could not be immediately ascertained, said the officer. |

3 killed, 16 injured in Swat gun-and-bomb attack |

MINGORA: Three civilians were killed and 16 people, including seven security personnel, were injured in a suicide blast and a simultaneous clash between security forces and the Taliban at a commercial plaza in Mingora city of Swat, security officials said on Saturday. Operation Rah-e-Rast in-charge Maj Gen Ashfaq Nadeem told Daily Times four Taliban had also been killed. He said one of the Taliban blew himself up, while the remaining three were killed during a gunfight with security forces. He said seven security forces personnel had also been injured. Malakand Deputy Inspector General Qazi Jamilur Rehman confirmed that three civilians were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up in a commercial plaza. Bomb disposal squad officials said 15 kilogrammes of explosives had been used in the blast. However, according to locals, security forces first surrounded five suicide bombers at the city's Green Chowk. They said one bomber blew himself up in the plaza, a second was killed by the forces, while a third managed to flee. They said the security forces arrested the remaining two suicide bombers and shifted them to an unidentified location. Swat District Police Officer Qazi Ghulam Farooq confirmed the killings and the arrests. Security officials said the forces also arrested three suspected people from Essakhel and Fatahkhel villages during a search operation following the blast. Locals said the suicide bomber, who blew himself up, was identified as Abdullah and his accomplices as Anees, Hazrat Ali and Sher Alam. |
