Saleh: Daesh-Taliban Threatened to Turn Kabul into Shia Slaughterhouse |
2020-12-13 |
[KhaamaPress] Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, says the Taliban![]() -Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... has warned that if one of their members is executed, they will turn Kabul into Shia massacre ground. Saleh on Saturday morning said, the Taliban-Islamic State has issued a warning message that if a member of the group is executed by the government, they will turn Kabul into a Shia slaughterhouse in addition to beheading all the captured hostages. He added, that he has instructed the Kabul National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) to send a message to all networks of the captured Taliban-Islamic State in the government prisons to inform their networks that the government knows their roots. No threat will stop our efforts to reveal Death Eaters’ true faces to the Afghan people, and I once again call on the Supreme Court to bring these perpetrators to be publicly trialed, Saleh said. During the meeting he said, NDS has arrested another terrorist network involved in bombings, liquidations of security forces, and the gathering of tithes for the Taliban. Hazrat Mir, son of Dadmir, is one of 5,000 pardoned prisoners of the Taliban, who returned on a killing spree of an NDS official, Amir Mohammad, in Mirbachah Kot district. According to Saleh, the death of Fardin Amini, an Ariana News news hound, is not a terrorist act, but his family has the right to request an in-depth investigation. If Fardin Amini’s family has secrets about the mystery of the incident, police will be forced to summon all members of his family, including women to be investigated, First VP said. It is neither fair nor legal to decipher any murder and then charge the government, so from now on, the police will tell the truth based on the legal literature, Saleh added. Saleh Indicated, that Malala Maiwand has been assassinated by members of the Taliban and that the silencing of society, especially women, is part of the Taliban’s strategic plans, these members are dictated by the group’s intellectual and supportive leaders from the "Akoh Rakhatak" region. Meanwhile, ...back at the shootout, bullets whapped!around Butch as he tried to tie his scarf around his shoulder as a tourniquet...... a Senior Advisor for the President of Afghanistan, Shah Hussain Murtazawi, called for calm and responsible reporting, after the first vice president warned that Taliban-Islamic State threatened to turn Kabul into a Shia slaughterhouse. The presidential advisor tweeted, that "Taliban and ISIS are enemies of humanity and Afghanistan, we should not provoke fear among Shias in our reporting, our method of informing should be professional, and we should not help our enemies in their mental war". SC rejects review plea of man convicted of stabbing girl student |
2019-08-10 |
[DAWN] The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a petition seeking review of its Jan 23 verdict of restoring the five-year sentence awarded to Shah Hussain by a sessions judge of Lahore on March 30 last year. Shah Hussain was convicted of stabbing his fellow student Khadija Siddiqui 23 times on May 3, 2016, near Lahore’s Shimla Hill where she, along with her driver, had gone to pick up her younger sister Soofia from school. Khadija now has done her Bar-at-Law at the City Law School, City University, London. Moved through counsel Shah Khawar, the review petition was heard by a three-judge Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa. With the rejection of the review petition, the earlier five-year conviction stands intact. Shah Khawar argued before the court that the girl named his client after five days and there was a strong possibility that his name surfaced after deliberations and suggested that his client may have been implicated and connected later. |

SC overturns Shah Hussain's acquittal in Khadija stabbing case, orders arrest |
2019-01-24 |
[DAWN] The Supreme Court on Wednesday accepted the appeal of Khadija Siddiqui ─ a law student who was stabbed 23 times in Lahore in 2016 ─ and overturned the Lahore High Court's 2018 acquittal of Shah Hussain, ordering his immediate arrest. Siddiqui had accused Shah Hussain of attacking her on May 3, 2016, near Lahore's Shimla Hill where she, along with her driver, had gone to pick up her younger sister from school. A judicial magistrate on July 29, 2017 had sentenced Hussain to seven-year imprisonment; however, Hussain was acquitted by the LHC the following year. A three-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, after hearing arguments from both sides on Wednesday, accepted Siddiqui's appeal to overturn the acquittal and declared the LHC's verdict null and void. On the court's orders, Shah Hussain was taken into custody from outside the courtroom. |

SC admits Khadija’s plea for hearing |
2018-06-15 |
[DAWN] The Supreme Court on Wednesday admitted for regular hearing an appeal of law student Khadija Siddiqui against the acquittal of Shah Hussain in her stabbing case by the Lahore High Court. A two-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa also issued bailable warrants of Hussain and directed him to furnish surety bonds of Rs100,000 and bound him to appear on each hearing. Granting leave to appeal, Justice Khosa observed that there was no room for "benefit of doubt" as the occurrence took place in broad daylight. "Had it taken place in dark there might be some benefit of doubt," the judge said. "Why did Khadija and her younger sister nominate Shah Hussain as accused from whole world?" questioned Justice Khosa. The bench would resume hearing after summer vacation in the courts. Both Khadija and Hussain were present in the court. Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem of the Lahore High Court had on June 4 acquitted Shah Hussain giving him benefit of doubt. The judge had observed that the prosecution had failed to establish its case and the courts could not solely rely upon the statement of the injured witness/victim. Chief Justice Nisar had taken suo motu ...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard... notice of the convict’s acquittal after the decision was widely criticized on both mainstream and social media. However, alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk... the chief justice discharged the suo motu and fixed the appeal for hearing before Justice Khosa’s bench. Last year, a judicial magistrate had sentenced Shah Hussain to seven-year imprisonment under section 324 of PPC for trying to kill his class fellow Khadjia. Later in March this year, a sessions court reduced the sentence by two years. According to the prosecution, Hussain attacked Ms Siddiqui on May 3, 2016 near Shimla Hill where she along with her family driver had gone to pick her younger sister from school. Both sisters were about to get into their car when helmet wearing Hussain attacked Siddiqui with knife and stabbed her 23 times leaving her critically injured. Civil Lines police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else against Hussain on charges of attempted murder. |

Khadija case: LHC judge rules prosecution failed to establish attacker's guilt |
2018-06-08 |
[DAWN] The detailed judgement behind a controversial Lahore High Court decision to acquit the son of a prominent lawyer accused of mercilessly stabbing a classmate 23 times was issued late Thursday afternoon, with the judge ruling that the prosecution had failed to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt. In his detailed judgement in what has become known as the Khadija Siddiqui case, Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem overturned the earlier conviction of Shah Hussain ‐ who allegedly attacked Khadija for spurning his advances ‐ as he was "forced to disbelieve the injured prosecution witnesses". He also conceded that this was not an ordinary stance to take as "the injured witness is not normally disbelieved". The circumstances compelling the judge's disbelief ‐ according to Justice Naeem ‐ were that the attack took place on a thoroughfare in broad daylight but "no independent witness was cited by the prosecution"; that the star witness had denied suggestions that it was a 'high-profile' case, but acknowledged that Tahmina Durani exercised her influence at a later stage and that the investigating officer also said it was a 'high-profile' case. He also stated that Khadija Siddiqi, the victim and "injured eyewitness", had "not described the true/complete tale"; and that the attack "may have taken place, but not in the manner as described by the eye/injured witnesses". Justice Naeem also ruled that he believed that, after the attack, Khadija "was in her senses, well oriented in time and space" and so the registration of the first information report (FIR) of the case "against an unknown accused in her presence is a question mark". "Evidence of eye/injured witnesses, thus, could not be relied upon with any amount of confidence," he stated. "This aspect of these witnesses had escaped the notice of both the courts below [the two courts which had heard the case earlier] resulting in miscarriage of justice," he ruled before overturning the conviction and ordering that the accused, Shah Hussain, be released forthwith. Elsewhere, the judge also questioned the late recovery of the knife allegedly used by the attacker ‐ it was taken into possession after five months of the attack ‐ and why it was not blood stained when it was recovered. He also questioned a discrepancy in the color of the helmet worn by the attacker as described by prosecution witnesses. He also questioned why Khadija had deposed that Hussain harassed her when she "wrote a letter of four pages [...] proposing him for marriage" and had "never complained against the petitioner for any misconduct or harassment" and then ruled that he could not believe her as "the motive set up by the prosecution comes to the ground". He also 'observed' at one point that "mere presence of injuries would not stamp out that he [the witness] is a truthful witness" and that "it is not a universal rule that each and every word coming from the mouth of the injured person is truth". |

Chief justice takes notice of convict's acquittal in Khadija stabbing case |
2018-06-06 |
[DAWN] Chief Justice of Pakistain (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of the acquittal of a man earlier convicted for brutally attacking law student Khadija Siddiqui with a knife. Justice Nisar has summoned the case's record at the apex court's Lahore registry on Sunday (June 10), according to a blurb issued by the Supreme Court. The top judge's notice comes a day after Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem of the LHC, through a short order, acquitted Shah Hussain of all charges after accepting his appeal against the five-year sentence handed to him by a sessions court. The verdict had shocked the nation that had rallied behind the law student's fight for justice after being stabbed 23 times. Civil society activists, journalists, celebrities and political figures took to social media to express disappointment over Hussain's acquittal. As netizens posted in support of Khadija and expressed outrage over the court verdict, #JusticeForKhadija became the top trend on Twitter in Pakistain. Shortly after Monday's verdict, Khadija had told Dawn.com that she would appeal the LHC decision in the Supreme Court. Appearing on DawnNewsTV on Monday night, she expressed shock and disappointment over the acquittal, saying it was "beyond [her] imagination" that someone could get off scot-free after stabbing her 23 times. |

Law student who survived brutal stabbing fears encountering attacker in school exam |
2017-05-19 |
![]() Siddiqui, 22, was attacked on May 3 last year, three days before she was due to appear for her final law exams, by Shah Hussain, the son of Advocate Sayed Tanvir Hashmi. Siddiqui had gone to pick up her seven-year-old sister, Sophia, from school and had barely approached her car when Hussain, wearing a helmet rushed towards them. The attacker then pushed Siddiqui and stabbed her 23 times. Siddiqui was stabbed 23 times.─Facebook Siddiqui was stabbed 23 times.─Facebook A murder case was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) within a week of the attack. Evidence was presented before the judiciary, including video footage which helped identify the attacker. However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... LHC had dismissed pre-arrest bail of the suspect in September 2016 while a sessions court granted him post-arrest bail after two months. Appearing on Geo TV's 'Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Saath' on Wednesday evening, Siddiqui said she could not accept that a man who had tried to attack her in the presence of her younger sister would be appearing for the same law exam as her in two days. "He will become a part of the same legal system, this is traumatising for me. I do not know how I will give the exam" Siddiqui said, appearing on the daily talk show a year after the brutal stabbing that left her in a critical state. Siddiqui said that she used to be friends with Hussain up till a year before he attacked her. However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... she added, that all communication between them had been cut off when Hussain became "coercive" towards her. Siddiqui said that Hussain has also hacked her accounts. The victim of the brutal stabbing expressed her dismay at the legal system that has failed to bring her attacker to accountability. "I don't understand how you can attack someone in front of their little sister with the intent to murder. Yet in this society, there is no accountability." Siddiqui said that, in her opinion, the attacker had been allowed to walk free due to the "influence the lawyers have over the judge". "The judges get scared, the lawyers have so much influence the judges are forced to give an incorrect verdict." "In our [legal] system there are weaknesses. We have loopholes in the law, of course, but they are not enough to to validate such extensive delays [in granting justice]." She asserted that the delays were means to exert pressure on "the weaker party." "Those who have the power to do so, pressure the courts so much that the victim is forced to give up." However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... she added that that her determination to fight her case had never wavered, rather, it had become stronger. "If i give up, the avenues will open up for others to engage in such violence with ease." Siddiqui recounted that her attacker's father had approached her outside the court once and asked her to forgive his son. "I told him the way you have sided with your son... this is very dangerous for the society. He can someday attack another girl, just the way he attacked me," Siddiqui said Appealing to the judiciary to review its decision, Siddiqui said that her case should become a landmark case and set an example in society of punishment is handed down to even the powerful when they commit a crime. She said that the decision of the court was "erroneous" and "perverse" and called on Chief justice Saqib Nisar to listen to her appeal. Siddiqui also appealed to "those who have mothers and daughters in their homes to stand up and raise their voices." "In this society the woman is always silenced, and she is asked to tolerate. They have tried to silence me as well, but I am still standing strong." |
