Hezbollah can deliver 'devastating blow' to Israel |
2019-01-28 |
[PRESSTV] Hezbollah is capable of inflicting a major blow to Israel in a possible conflict, says a political analyst, commenting on the Saturday night speech by the head of the Lebanese resistance movement. Speaking to al-Mayadin television, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said Israel was deeply wrong to think that its discovery of four tunnels would save it from future attacks by Hezbollah. Nasrallah "emphasized that Hezbollah has the capabilities to inflict major damage on Israel," Paul Larudee of the Free Paleostine Movement told Press TV on Sunday. "The Israelis learned the hard way in 2006 that Hezbollah can deliver a very strong blow, a devastating blow, to Israel and that Israel will be unable to hold on to any Lebanese land," Larudee said. "Basically, what he (Nasrallah) is saying and it seems absolutely true is that Israel really can’t afford to start this war," he added, referring to recent Israeli threats to attack Leb over Hezbollah's precision missiles. |

He attributed the absence of a president in Leb to Saudi Arabia's rejection of Aoun, a position which he said has negatively impacted all state institutions. "As long as the Future Movement is walking behind the Saudi veto, Leb will not be stable," Qaouk added, the Daily Star reported. He noted that no faction can be excluded. "Hezbollah advised the Future Movement to salvage the country and change their negative position against Aoun," he continued. Iran must strengthen foothold in West Bank: IRGC commander |
2015-02-02 |
[Iran Press TV] A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has become a necessity for Iran to enhance its powerbase in the West Bank. Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi said Saturday that Iran must try to increase its military power in the West Bank as well as the Gazoo Strip in order to contain Israel inside the occupied territories. "We must contain Israel ... so that it never dares to speak about a missile attack on Iran, we must reinforce our power in the West Bank and Gazoo," said Masjedi, who serves as top advisor to commander of IRGC Quds Force. The high-ranking commander urged the Paleostinian movements inside the West Bank to stop negotiating with Israelis and instead, engage in armed resistance against the Tel Aviv regime. "The Paleostine Liberation Organization must know that what brings them victory is not political negotiation but only resistance and (military) power, and this is what Hezbollah and Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, have been doing," Masjedi said while addressing a conference in the northeastern city of Mashhad. Hezbollah attack just the beginning The Iranian commander also elaborated on the recent retaliatory attack by Hezbollah fighters in south Leb which killed two Israeli soldiers and left nine more injured. The attack was in response to Israel's killing of six Hezbollah fighters and an Iranian commander on January 18 in the Syrian Golan Heights. Masjedi described Hezbollah as a "powerful" and "wise" organization which never makes any uncalculated, hasty decision. He said Israelis call Hezbollah chief Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah as the "honest man," meaning that they trust his words when he warns about retaliation. "Hezbollah's recent action was not the ultimate response to the Zionist regime," he warned the Israelis. Commenting on Iran's assistance to Hezbollah, the commander said Iran's support has enabled the resistance group defend itself against the Israelis. "Hezbollah ... has gained the power to deter the threats and make the enemy regret its acts of aggression in all forms of confrontation," he said. |

Hezbollah stands by Gazans against Israel: Nasrallah |
2014-07-26 |

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was addressing a crowd of Lebanese people on the occasion of the International Quds Day on Friday, said that Israel's massacres in the blockaded sliver meant to remove not only Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, but all Paleostinian resistance factions. "We, in Hezbollah, stand beside the Paleostinian people and the Paleostinian resistance without an exception. We will not spare any means of support that we can and are able to provide," Nasrallah said, adding, "We feel that we are true partners with the Paleostinian resistance. ... Your victory is our own." Nasrallah stated the Zionist regime's aggression against the coastal enclave will result in a defeat for Israel, similar to the 2006 war against Leb, citing Paleostinian missiles that can reach Tel Aviv today. "To the Zionist I say: In Gazoo, you are moving in a circle of failure and do not go to the circle of suicide or a total collapse." He also called on Arab and Islamic countries to pressure Israel in order to end the blockade of Gazoo. In a telephone conversation with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal earlier this week, Nasrallah said the resistance movement would support "Paleostinian people's uprising and resistance in our heart, willpower, hope and destiny." Hezbollah leader condems "Takfirist" groups for killing civilians
2013-08-17 | ||
![]() After expressing his condolences to the families of the dear departed and condemning the "silence of other countries who support terrorists," Nasrallah spoke on both the 2006 victory and issues surrounding Thursday's massacre. The Hezbollah rally came a day after a boom-mobile left at least 20 dead and over 100 injured in the Dahieh neighborhood, a Hezbollah stronghold in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Hundreds of Hezbollah supporters gathered in the southern Lebanese village of Ayta, near the Israeli border, which Nasrallah said is "a symbol of its people, the resistance and deaders." At the start of his speech, he recalled how Ayta remained steadfast under heavy fire during the 2006 war. Speaking on Thursday's kaboom, he said that only further investigations could reveal whether or not it was a suicide kaboom and declined to speculate further. Nasrallah also revealed that he had prior information that groups he labelled "Takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed... st" (apostate) hoped to attack to the Dahieh area. He said those "Takfirist" groups "kill Sunnis and Shi'ites and Christians alike".
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... he stressed: "Whoever says Sunnis are in charge of the bombing is speaking with an Israeli mentality. These Takfirist groups are just murderers without a religion, a nation or a cause." He called on Lebanese people to be "patient and aware" and asked his followers to send the message that no amount of bombings will bring Leb into a conflict. "Leave our differences to our politics," he said. The speech then went on to address the perpetrators of the attack, whom he labelled "murderers." "If you work for Israel, we will find out," Nasrallah said.
Nasrallah also criticized to the "deteriorating Arab media," specifically mentioning the Al-Jazeera ![]() the Peninsula,as in the Arabian Peninsula. In recent years it has settled in to become slightly less biased than MSNBC, in about the same category as BBC or CBS... and Al-Arabiya television channels. He called on people not to believe the "fabricated lies" about Syria, citing what he said were "divergent" reports from the two channels about recent events in Egypt. Throughout the speech, Nasrallah also emphasized the need for Leb to extract its energy resources from its coast and that Israel has no say in this or in any other Lebanese affair.

Hezbollah leader calls for release of the Lebanese kidnapped in Syria |
2012-06-02 |
![]() In his televised speech on Friday, Nasrallah called for the release of the Lebanese captives, saying that the Lebanese government is responsible for the safety of the abductees. Armed men kidnapped 13 Lebanese pilgrims in the city of Aleppo ...For centuries, Aleppo was Greater Syria's largest city and the Ottoman Empire's third, after Constantinople and Cairo. Although relatively close to Damascus in distance, Aleppans regard Damascenes as country cousins... while they were returning to Leb from pilgrimage in Iran. The bus carrying the abductees came under attack on the Syrian-Turkish border by gunnies who took the men away and released the women. An unknown Syrian gang has grabbed credit for the abduction, and demanded Nasrallah to apologize for his support of the Syrian government before they release the Lebanese nationals. "Having a problem with Hezbollah or the Amal Movement over political views of what is happening in Syria is one thing, but taking innocent people hostage is a great injustice," Nasrallah responded. "If you have a problem with me, then there are several means and ways to resolve this problem," he said. The Lebanese resistance leader also reiterated his support for the Syrian government and said that dialogue and reform were the only means to resolve crisis in the country. |

"The [US] must understand that war on Iran and Syria will not remain [restricted] in these two countries but will spread to other countries in the region. We are not issuing any threats but this is the reality," he added on Friday. Noting that Iran is not afraid of the US naval fleet, Nasrallah said that threats and naval fleets cannot weaken the determination of the Iranian people. Addressing a crowd on 'Martyr's Day' event which is held on 11/11 every year, Nasrallah said that the United States has failed in Iraq and has been forced to withdraw its troops from the country. As a result, he said, "it wants to punish the states that opposed its occupation of the region. The US wants to punish Iran and Syria and intends to keep them under pressure." Turning to recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa, the Hezbullies secretary-general said that the regime changes in Tunisia, Libya and Egypt have not been in the interest of the US and Israel and this is another reason why they want to punish Syria and Iran. "The era of weakness and [submission] to the US or Israel is over. We have entered the era of victories," he emphasized. On November 11, 1982, Lebanese resistance fighter Ahmad Qassir attacked an Israeli military headquarters in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, killing scores of Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers. Hezbullies honors the memory of martyred resistance fighters who sacrificed their lives for Leb every year. |

The Saudi-backed Bahraini forces incarcerated holy mans Sayyed Mohammad al-Alawi and Sheikh Abdul Adim al-Mohtadi in the capital Manama on Monday. Hezbollah warns of US-backed assault |
2011-03-11 |
[Iran Press TV] Hezbullies has warned that the US-backed UN court, alleging to investigate former Lebanese Premier Rafiq Hariri's murder, serves to mount an assault on the Lebanese nation. On Thursday, the Lebanese resistance movement's Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem ![]() ... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies... said, "The (Special Tribunal for Leb) STL is an American assault on Leb's strength and resistance," Lebanese website Naharnet reported. Hariri was killed along with more than 20 others in a massive car booming in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on February 14, 2005. Washington-sponsored tribunal was established about two years later to investigate the incident. In an August public address, Hezbullies's Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah presented evidence proving that Israel had criminal masterminded Hariri's liquidation. The televised address featured a video footage taken by Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as recorded confessions by Israeli fifth columnists, substantiating that Tel Aviv had criminal masterminded the killing. The court, however, reportedly plans to indict some Hezbullies members in the incident -- an allegation the resistance movement has fiercely rejected -- and the United States has been applying pressure to block any challenge to the planned ruling. Qassem said that US efforts are aimed at rendering Leb "unable to confront the Israeli project." In January, 10 Hezbullies-affiliated cabinet ministers quit the government of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, protesting his March 14 Those are the good guys, insofar as Leb has good guys... alliance's "inability to overcome US pressure." Hezbullies's second-in-command added that the March 14 movement was taking advantage of the tribunal as means of altering the balance of power in the country. He emphasized that the camp is making efforts to regain the popularity it has lost and "seeking to create chaos." |

Lebanese support Hezbollah, Mikati |
2011-02-18 |
[Iran Press TV] A recent poll suggests the majority of the Lebanese public supports the resistance movement of Hezbullies and the country's new Prime Minister Najib Mikati. The survey, carried out by Beirut Center for Research & Information, showed that the Lebanese movement acted rightly to lead the recent collapse of the government. Of the 800 respondents, 60 percent said Hezbullies was seeking to defuse domestic tension sparked by the United States-backed tribunal investigating the 2005 liquidation of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. The poll also found out that 75 percent of the participants approved of Mikati's premiership, the IRIB Research Center reported. Former premier Saad Hariri's cabinet collapsed on January 25, when 10 ministers from the Hezbullies-led March 8 Alliance as well as one named by President Michel Suleiman quit. The resignations were in protests to what the politicians described as the March 14 Those are the good guys, insofar as Leb has good guys... alliance's "inability to overcome US pressure." Parliamentary meetings, which followed the cabinet's breakup, led to the appointment of Mikati. Over the past months, reports have suggested that the Special Tribunal for Leb (STL) is preparing to indict senior Hezbullies members in the 2005 liquidation -- an allegation the resistance movement has repeatedly rejected. Washington, however, strongly supports the court and has reportedly been pushing for the verdict, which analysts warn would sow discord within Leb. Some 10 percent of the respondents, however, claimed that the Hezbullies-led mass resignation was an exercise in pursuit of power, but Hezbullies Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has rejected claims that Mikati was the movement's pick for the post. The poll was carried out between January 28 and February 1 this year and included participants of Shia, Sunni, Christian and Druze faiths. |

Hariri bloc not to join new Lebanon govt. |
2011-01-28 |
[Iran Press TV] The Western-backed coalition of Leb's caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri says it will not join the new national government. Hariri's al-Mustaqbal ... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri... (Future) Movement said on Thursday that it would not be part of the new government unless Prime Minister designate Najib Mikati, backed by the Hezbullies resistance movement, clarifies his position on US-sponsored Special Tribunal for Leb (STL), Rooters reported. Mikati was elected as new Lebanese prime minister in a Tuesday vote on the second day of parliamentary consultations held in President Michel Suleiman's residence near Beirut. He collected 68 votes against Hariri's 60. Leb has been in a political standoff since Saad Hariri's government collapsed earlier this month when 11 opposition-affiliated ministers resigned in a dispute over the US-backed STL -- which is charged with probing the liquidation of former Lebanese Premier Rafiq Hariri. Rafiq Hariri and over 20 other people were killed on February 14, 2005, when explosives equivalent to around 1,000 kilograms of TNT targeted his convoy in downtown Beirut. The Washington-sponsored STL was set up nearly two years later to look into the deadly incident. Reports say that the court will likely issue an indictment against some Hezbullies members. Hezbullies Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has vehemently rebuffed the allegations, describing the move as part of a dangerous enemy scheme aimed at targeting the resistance movement. |
