2023-11-04
[GEO.TV] At least six people were killed and 20 were maimed after a blast targeting a police van was reported from Dera Ismail Khan
... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ...
, said Caretaker Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Firdous Jamal Shah on Friday

According to law enforcement officials, gunshots were also heard after the earth-shattering kaboom.

The blast took place in Tank Adda in the city near a police van, injuring 22 people who are being shifted to a nearby hospital. Some of the injured are at death's door.

The minister also shared that among the 22 included two coppers and said was saddened by the news.

"Those elements involved in the earth-shattering kaboom and terrorism will be brought to justice," assured the minister.

Last month, two blasts occurred in KP and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, killing scores of people on the day of Eid Miladun Nabi — the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!).

The blast in KP's Hangu, which took place during the Friday sermon, killed five and injured 12 people.

Hangu District Police Officer Nisar Ahmed said two jacket wallahs were involved in the attack — one targeted the gate of the cop shoppe, and the other went kaboom! inside the mosque.

Moreover, two coppers were also injured during the firing, officials of the law enforcement agency said, adding that the other bully boy went kaboom! inside the mosque.

Earlier in the day, a suicide kaboom in Balochistan's Mastung district killed at least 35 people including a police officer while injuring over 45.

Army major among two soldiers martyred in Zhob anti-terror operation
2023-10-10
[GEO.TV] An army major among two soldiers embraced martyrdom while five bad boyz were potted during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
’s Zhob District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

According to the military’s media affairs wing, the security forces conducted an operation in the general Sambaza area of Zhob District on the night between October 8 and 9, on the reported presence of terrorists.

"During the conduct of the operation, snuffies were surrounded and after an intense exchange of fire, five snuffies were sent to hell," the ISPR added.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
during the shooting, Major Syed Ali Raza Shah, 31 — who was leading the operation from the front — and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed 28, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

"The security forces of Pakistain are indebted and proud of our brave men and pay homage to their chivalry and sacrifices for the motherland, which further strengthens our resolve to uproot the menace of terrorism from the country," read the statement.

The ISPR further said that sanitisation of the surrounding areas is being conducted to eliminate any other snuffies found in the area.

Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir had said the forces of evil would continue to face the full might of the state after a suicide kaboom in Balochistan's Mastung district killed 59 people.

A jacket wallah Friday targeted people gearing up for a procession related to Eid Miladun Nabi — the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!) — near a mosque in the Mastung district.

"... snuffies and their controllers, having no link with religion and ideology, are proxies of the enemies of Pakistain and its people. These forces of evil will continue to face the full might of the state and security forces backed by a resilient nation," the army chief had said.

According to the COAS, the Pak people have rejected terrorists' "pseudo ideology and propaganda of their backers and they are fully committed to peace, economic progress, and human development, which indeed is causing [a] lot of distress to forces of evil in and outside of Pakistain".

Dhangri attack case: NIA raids houses of LeT OGWs in Poonch
2023-10-01
[GreaterKashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
] National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids at the houses of Overground Workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e- Taiba (LeT) of Mendhar Poonch in connection with civilian killings in Dhangri village of Rajouri district.

An NIA spokesperson in a statement said: "Raids were conducted today at five locations across Gursai village of Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district. NIA teams made extensive searches at the locations, which were the residential premises of Overground Workers (OGWs) linked with LeT, a proscribed terrorist outfit."

NIA team has seized several digital devices and documents containing incriminating data and content which are being scrutinised for unravelling the conspiracy.

NIA spokesperson said that raids were conducted following the disclosure of two accused, Nisar Ahmed @Haji Nisar and Mushtaq Hussain arrested by the NIA in the case (RC-01/2023/NIA/JMU) on 31st August 2023 who are currently lodged in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.

"NIA investigations have revealed that both the arrested accused had harboured the bully boyz who had carried out the deadly attack. They had provided logistics support to the bully boyz for more than two months and had sheltered them in a hideout that they had built. The duo, as per the investigations, had been operating on the directions of Pakistain-based LeT handlers, namely Saifullah @ Sajid Jutt, Abu Qatal @ Qatal Sindhi and Mohd. Qasim," it reads.

The attack case was initially registered as FIR no. 01/2023 at PS Rajouri under sections 302/ 307 /120-B/452/323 of IPC; sections 13/16/18 of UA (P) Act 1967, and sections 7/27 of Arms Act. NIA, which had taken over and re-registered the case on 13th January, is carrying out further investigations.

4 dead, 12 injured as suicde blast rips through Hangu mosque
2023-09-30
[GEO.TV] A blast destroyed a mosque in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu, local officials confirmed Friday, leaving three dead — including a policeman — and 12 injured.

The incident took place within the parametres of Police Station Doaba during the Friday sermon — a time when scores of believers are gathered at a mosque for their weekly prayer.

Hangu District Police Officer Nisar Ahmed said 30-40 people were under the rubble — as the mosque's roof caved in — and an operation was underway to rescue them.

Ahmed said two jacket wallahs were involved in the attack — one targeted the gate of the cop shoppe, and the other went kaboom! inside the mosque.

The 12 people, rescued from the rubble, have been shifted to a nearby hospital, he said.

Caretaker Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Azam Khan, taking notice, directed officials to enforce an emergency in all hospitals of the city as he sought a report on the blast from law enforcers.

The police officials said that two gunnies tried entering the cop shoppe and started firing at the gate. They added that one of the Death Eaters was killed at the gate by the police in retaliatory fire.

Moreover, two coppers were also injured during the firing, officials of the law enforcement agency said, adding that the other hard boy went kaboom! inside the mosque.

The timely action by the police resulted in fewer casualties following the blast, they added.

This was the second terror attack to hit Pakistain in a single day as earlier today, a suicide kaboom in Balochistan

Lahore court acquits PM Shehbaz, son Hunter Hamza Shahbaz in money laundering case
2023-07-21
[GEO.TV] In a major development, an accountability court in Lahore on Thursday accepted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz's plea for acquittal in a Rs7 billion money laundering case.

The court acquitted the prime minister along with all the co-accused, including Hamza, Nusrat Shehbaz (wife), Javeria Ali (PM's daughter), Muhammad Usman, Masroor Anwar, Shoaib Qamar, Qasim Qayyum, Rashid Karamat, Ali Ahmed and Nisar Ahmed, except for one.

The court, however, issued a perpetual arrest warrant for PM Shehbaz's daughter Rabia Imran, who had been declared absconder in the case.

The accused had filed petitions seeking acquittal, basing their argument on NAB's inability to present any evidence against them.

The NAB Sherlocks also confirmed that no evidence was found.

While announcing the verdict reserved earlier this month, the court said that it had no other choice except to acquit the accused, as NAB has said that it did not have anything against them.

The anti-graft watchdog had filed the reference for the inquiry underway since 2018, in August 2020, when PM Shehbaz served as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly.

He was arrested by NAB after the Lahore High Court rejected his bail in the case on September 29.

An accountability court indicted the prime minister, Hamza, and others accused after over a month on November 11, 2020.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
the prime minister was released on bail in April 2021.

Newly constructed building at Islamabad International Airport starts caving in

ALPINDI: After the customs cargo (airfreight unit) building at the Islamabad International Airport (IIA) started caving in, the authorities have decided to shift all staff and workers to an alternative place.

Initially, small cracks appeared on the walls along with a leakage from the drain in the office of a senior officer and other rooms but the cracks started increasing day by day. A portion of the building is now caving in.

Senior officers of the customs department brought the issue to the notice of the airport manager and the project director of the IIA intimating them that the building was no longer safe for those working there.

Additional Collector Customs Nisar Ahmed told Dawn that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) would start shifting the office of the airfreight unit to another place, comprising two rooms, on Monday.

He confirmed that cracks in the building had widened and the building was caving in from one side making it no longer safe to work in.

The official said the airfreight unit office was shifted to the newly-constructed building on May 1, two days before the new airport was formally opened.

Four ISIS men arrested in Lahore raid
2016-09-18
[TheNation] LAHORE - Four members of the self-styled Islamic State group have been arrested during a successful operation in Lahore’s Iqbal Town, a counter official told The Nation yesterday.

The security and law enforcement agencies jointly conducted the raid on Ya-Rasool-Ullah Park located near Moon Market in Iqbal Town on a tip off, he said. The official confirmed the arrests but did not mention further details because of security reasons. It was not clear yet how the suspects were identified as affiliated with the Islamic State group.

A spokesperson for the Punjab’s counter terrorism department said the militants were plotting large-scale terror attacks to target government installations and senior officials in Lahore. “A big terrorism plan of DAESH (has been) foiled. The terrorists had planned to kill officials on a large scale,” the spokesperson said while referring to the Middle-East based Islamic State group. The counter terror operatives also seized 1600 gram explosives, 8 safety fuse, and four non-electric detonators from their possession.

The terror suspects were named by the CTD as Syed Abdul Alam, Muhammad Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Nisar Ahmed, and Tassawar Amin. They were shifted to an unknown facility for further interrogation. According to officials, the raid was conducted near Lahore’s leading Moon Market, where more than 60 people mostly women and children had been killed in twin suicide blasts in December 2009.

Perhaps, it was for the first time that the Punjab’s counter terrorism department officially named the terrorists as members of the Deash, which controls large swaths of Iraq and Syria. “A team of Lahore CTD and officers of a sensitive agency jointly got a source information that terrorists belonging to proscribed organization DAESH were planning to attack government installations in Lahore and (they) were about to launch the attack,” the spokesman says.

The move comes just a few weeks after Pakistan Army declared that it had foiled Islamic State’s attempts to establish operations in the country. According to the military spokesman, they had arrested more than 300 militants and their sympathisers including 20 core organisers during the countrywide operations.

In November 2014, Lahore police had launched a manhunt to track down elements behind an “ISIS campaign” after discovering distribution of pamphlets and display of posters on the boundary walls and roadside poles in some parts of the city. Later, the provincial police officer had denied the presence of the terror outfit in the Punjab province stating that there was no such “organized group” operating in the province.

In early August, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, an offshoot of the Pakistani Taliban having links with ISIS, claimed the responsibility for the attack on lawyers and journalists in Quetta. More than 70 people mostly lawyers died in the horrific blast that ripped through the emergency ward of the civil hospital.

The same group was behind the deadliest attack in the country so far this year; the suicide attack in a crowded Lahore park that killed 75 people on Easter Sunday in March. After claiming responsibility for the Gulshan-i-Iqbal park blast, the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar declared the start of a new terror campaign, “Sound of Thunder”. The group posted an Urdu communiqué on its Facebook page early this year claiming that Christians were the prime target. The post also carried a photo of the bomber, identifying him as Salahuddin Khorasani.

Security experts say they believe the Quetta blast was identical to Lahore attack. “The modus operandi was the same. Again, they selected a soft target. They used lethal combination (of explosives) to inflict maximum casualties.”
