Pakistan Police Warn: TTP plans to assassinate Maulana Fazlur Rehman

[KhaamaPress] Pak media has reported that the police, in response to the growing insecurity in the country, have warned Maulana Fazlur Rehman

(TTP) intends to assassinate him.

The Express Tribune newspaper reported on Monday, February 17 that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police issued a security advisory to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, urging him to enhance his security measures and limit his movements.

According to the report, "Sources informed the police that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) intend to target Maulana Fazlur Rehman due to his involvement in religious and political activities."

Pak media, citing security sources, reported that the Taliban has assigned the task of assassinating this political and religious figure to "armed hitmen," who are planning to carry out the attack covertly.

In the police security advisory to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, it is stated that "In light of the recent terrorist incidents targeting politicians in the Bajaur tribal region, and the threats directed towards you, it is advised that you increase your security at your residence and limit your movements."

Ismail Ghori, the front man for Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam, also responded to this warning, stating that the party’s security guard is capable of protecting Maulana Fazlur Rehman and urging the police to ensure security instead of creating fear.

It is noteworthy that this religious leader was also targeted in an liquidation attempt last year, from which he narrowly escaped.

Understanding radicalisation in Kerala and how seeds were sown 30 years back
2023-05-03
[OneIndia] The Kerala Story, a movie slated for release on May 5 has already created a controversy with many leaders demanding a ban on the same.

The movie says that nearly 32,000 girls were converted to Islam and sold off as sex slaves. While there is no official count on the numbers, there are documented cases of several women joining the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Afghanistan after being converted.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing a case which relates to 24 from Kerala joining the Islamic State in Afghanistan, which is also known as the Islamic State Afghanistan Khorsan Province.

In recent years, radicalisation has been an often debated matter, especially in Kerala. The probe that was conducted into the now banned Popular Front of India and also the activities of radical Islamic preacher, Zakir Naik
Indian Islamic preacher, founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation, which doesn't rely very heavily on the scientific method. He is also the founder of the oxymoronic Peace TV channel through which he reaches 200 million viewers. He has been called an authority on comparative religion and the most influential Salafi ideologue in India, though usually by himself. Before becoming a public speaker, he trained as a physician. His preaching is currently banned in India, Bangladesh, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Antarctica. He is currently holed up in Malaysia, where he's not banned...
by the central agencies showed the extent of radicalisation that had crept into the society.

The problem of radicalisation began when the Gulf-funded Wahhabi preachers began visiting Kerala. With them came a change in the mindset of many in the state. It would be completely wrong to say that the problem of radicalisation is spread across Kerala, but yes there are pockets where it is immense, a counter-terror and counter-radicalisation expert explains to OneIndia.

To understand how old the problem is, one has to visit the Lal Singh vs State of Gujarat
...where rioting seems to be a traditional passtime...
case of 1991.

The case relates to one Basheer a resident of Kerala, who was part of the bad boy faction of the Students Islamic Movement of India. He had organised a convention in Mumbai and later on it was found that the same was done to create a liaison between the Khalistan forces and SIMI.

V Balachandran, former officer with the Research and Analysis Wing explains that Lal Singh was brought in by Pakistain, who was part of the Khalistan movement. Pakistain had wanted the SIMI to grow with a particular target on South India. Basheer had even surveyed several targets in South India, including the Madras Stock Exchange with the intention of bombing it. That however did not work out.

Balachandran said that when it comes to Kerala, the two main concerns that the agencies had found was the issue of radicalisation.

Going by the Lal Singh case, it appears as though the phenomenon is not new and the seeds of radicalisation had been sown over 30 years back.

The National Investigation Agency is probing the Kerala Islamic State case. The agency noted that all those who had left for Afghanistan are educated. During the probe the agency learnt that the brainwashing was so strong that many who did not subscribe to the view of the Islamic State finally were convinced.

Amid the raging controversy over the upcoming film 'The Kerala Story', the producers of the film on Tuesday changed the text of the introduction to the film in its latest teasers on YouTube.

Earlier, the text mentioned that around 32,000 women have gone missing from Kerala. Now the changed version says that three women, who after getting brainwashed, converted and were sent on terror missions in India and abroad.

The film starring Adah Sharma, slated to release on May 5 created a major controversy when it claimed that 32,000 women have left the state.

As soon as the teaser of the film was released, the ruling CPI(M)-led Left and the UDF demanded that the film should not be screened.

Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan said their stand has been clear and in the name of expression of freedom, they will not allow anyone to spread canards and it will be appropriately dealt with and they have already asked for a ban of the film.

A petition was filed before the Kerala High Court on Tuesday seeking a ban on the screening of the film.

Certain outfits announced cash prizes to prove the claim. The Kerala State Committee of Moslem Youth League announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for the individual who proves the "allegations" levelled in the movie. A right-wing activist and founder of the Hindu Seva Kendra Pratheesh Viswanath also offered Rs 10 crore to prove the opposite -- that no one from Kerala has gone to Syria to join IS.

The film is directed by Sudipto Sen. It traces the journey of four female college students in Kerala who become part of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
The film also stars Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani. It is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

India Asks Oman to Arrest and Extradite Islamist Preacher ‘Zakir Naik’
2023-03-23
[KhaamaPress] India has asked the authorities in Oman to arrest and extradite the renowned Moslem preacher and scholar Dr. Zakir Naik
Indian Islamic preacher, founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation, which doesn't rely very heavily on the scientific method. He is also the founder of the oxymoronic Peace TV channel through which he reaches 200 million viewers. , accused of propagating extremism in India and beyond, according to News 18.

It is reported that Zakir Nai will travel to the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday (March 22), which marks the beginning of Ramadan, the holy fasting month for Moslems worldwide. Reportedly, Naik will deliver two important religious sermons at the commencement of Ramadan.

Dr. Naik is an Indian citizen who fled India in 2017 fearing detention allegedly accused of spreading hate speech and terrorism in India.

According to Business Today Daily, the Indian Consulate is in contact with Oman officials and has told them after Naik’s detention, a legal team will be sent to investigate and extradite him to India.

Furthermore, the ministry of foreign affairs of India has had a meeting with the Ambassador of Oman in this regard in the recent past.

It is reported that Naik had received an invitation to deliver two religious sermons in Oman— "The Koran a Global Necessity" and "Prophet Muhammad a Mercy to Humankind". His first lecture is set for March 23, the first day of Ramadan on March 23 and the second lecture will be held on March 25 at Sultan Qaboos University.

Currently, the renowned Moslem preacher resides in Malaysia and is set to travel to Oman on Thursday, with the news of his detention spreading all over.

In 2018, the governments of the UK and Canada announced that Indian Cleric Dr. Zakir Naik, a popular Salafi television preacher, was banned from entering both countries, accused of propagating violence and hate speeches among the people.

, Dr. Shafi al-Hajri said war is the third and last step in propagating Islam. Speaking with Rayyan TV (Qatar) on November 25, he said that individuals must be invited to Islam or made to pay the jizya poll tax in order to be protected and those who resist should be fought mercilessly.

"Fighting is the third stage of spreading da'wa. First, we call people to Allah, and if they accept, then they will have the same duties and rights as we have. If they refuse then they have to pay the jizya poll tax," he also said.

They have to pay the jizya poll tax in order to receive protection from others. The third stage is fighting them if they refuse, he added.

Jizya is a tax paid by non-Moslems as a protection tax to the Islamic dispensation ruling the territory. Hindus, it may be recalled were humiliated by the Moslem jizya collectors in India at the time of the Islamic rule. While paying the jizya, the Hindus had to lower their eyes, bow down and even let the Moslem official spit on them.

The failure to pay this tax would render the vow of protection of a non-believer's property null and void, leaving the protected non-believer or Dhimmi with the option to covert, enslavement, death or incarceration.

QATAR AND ISLAMIC PREACHING:
Qatar has been under fire for a number of methods being used to convert visitors to Islam during the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Katara Cultural Village Mosque in Doha, the capital of Qatar has become a hotspot for the proselytization of the non-Moslems visitors.

At the Mosque multilingual male and female preachers explain Islam and the tolerance preached by the religion to others. Visitors are also being encouraged to watch electronic boards on Islam which are on display in 30 different languages. Books too are being distributed among visitors which speak about the greatness and importance of Islam.

Qatar's Ministry of Awaqf and Islamic Affairs has also erected a pavilion outside the venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup where visitors are being introduced to Islam and its preachings.

Recently it was reported that radical Islamic preacher, Zakir Naik

[OneIndia] The Bengaluru police have arrested an operative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba following a late night operation. Four persons too have been detained in connection with the same case.

The arrested person has been identified as Akthar Hussian Lashkar from Assam and the police say that he is a highly radicalised youth. The operation was carried out by the sleuths of the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Special Wing in coordination with the Internal Security Division and Intelligence Wing.

The raid took place following a tip off about the presence of some radical elements at the BTP locality near Tilaknagar. The term comprised more than 30 personnel. While the police is yet to make any statement about the arrest, it is learnt that Akthar was working as a food delivery boy.

Sources tell OneIndia that the raids took place at 8 pm on Sunday. Akthar was residing on the third floor and claimed that he was a food delivery boy.

Interfaith marriage row: Kerala HC disposes habeas moved by girls father alleging Love Jihad
2022-04-21
[oneIndia] The Kerala High Court on Tuesday declined to interfere with the decision of a Christian woman to marry a Moslem DYFI
...The Democratic Youth Federation of India, the youth arm of the CPI(M)...
leader, a decision which stirred up a political storm in the state after her relatives alleged "love jihad", as she categorically told the court that she has not been illegally detained and she was not interested in speaking to her family at present.

A bench of Justices V G Arun and C S Sudha after interacting with the woman, Jyotsna Mary Joseph, said, "She has categorically stated she has decided to marry Shejin (DYFI leader) out of her own free will and not under any compulsion.

She has also stated that as of now she was not interested in interacting with her parents or family and will do so at a later stage," the court noted in its order.

It also told the woman's family that she has said she intended to visit them after her marriage, for which an application under the Special Marriage Act has been moved and is pending consideration, and not before that.

The bench told the family that while it understands their concerns, their daughter was a 26-year-old woman, who was a nurse in Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
, and capable of making her own decisions.

"She has taken a decision and she is not deviating from it. It is her will and pleasure. She is not willing to speak to her parents now, so how can we compel her to do so," it said.

The woman's father, Joseph, had moved a habeas corpus plea alleging that his daughter had been illegally detained and seeking directions to the police to produce her before him.

He had also told news channels that since the day his daughter left her home, she has not spoken to any of them and therefore, he believed that she was being restrained against her will by the DYFI leader.

Joseph had also said that he lacked faith in the Kerala Police to look into the matter and wanted an agency from outside the state, like the CBI or NIA, to investigate what had happened.

The interfaith relationship stirred up a political storm after the woman's relatives alleged "love jihad", with a senior Left party leader supporting the charge, only to retract his statement later.

The CPI(M),
...the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is the largest communist party in India. It’s part of ruling alliances in Kerala and in Tamilnadu, and was actually elected in the legislatiures of 9 states...
thereafter, made it clear that there was nothing unnatural in interfaith marriages and the campaign of 'love jihad' was a creation of RSS and Sangh Parivar.

'Love jihad' is a term used by right-wing outfits to claim that Moslem men lure women from other faiths to convert them into Islam.

The couple had denied the allegations.

Centric to Islamic radicalisation in India, Zakir Naik’s IRF banned for 5 years

's organization Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) has been banned on charges of radicalising Moslem youth.

The Ministry of Home Affairs in a notification declared the IRF an unlawful association and banned it for five years. The MHA said that the speeches of Naik were objectionable in nature and he had been extolling known faceless myrmidons apart from stating that every Moslem should be a terrorist.

The notification also said that Zakir Naik has been promoting forcible conversion of youth Islam. He has also justified suicide kabooms and had made objectionable comments against Hindus and Hindu Gods.

recruit in India. The runaway who is in Malaysia has had his name taken several times in the past by radical elements. He has however maintained that he has nothing to do with these incidents and India is indulging in a witch-hunt against him.

In the Kerala Islamic State case, his name has cropped in the past as well. The raids that were conducted on Sunday are related to the same case and the NIA has learnt that the members of this module were on the same social media group that the faceless myrmidons who undertook the Sri Lanka blasts were. The NIA has however said that it found no direct link between the Kerala module and the one in Sri Lanka.

Last year, the NIA arrested Nashidul Hamzafar a 26 year old management student from Wayanad in Kerala. He was the first ISIS recruit from Kerala to be deported from Afghanistan. During his interrogation, he details the role played by Islamic preachers such as Naik and what sort of an influence they had on him, which ultimately prompted him to join the ISIS.

Hamzafar says that he was not attracted to the ISIS ideology for long. I found them to be too brutal and the outfit only scared me, he says. My ambition was to pursue my education and find a good job in Dubai.

A lot changed when one of his friends, Shihas sent him an audio clip regarding the Islamic State. My perception towards the outfit changed. Then I began listening to audios of Zakir Naik, Noman Alikhan among others. Their speeches inspired me and my approach towards life changed.

Going by his statements, it becomes clear that the likes of Zakir Naik through his Islamic Research Foundation and the Kerala based Peace Educational Foundation have played a huge role in the radicalisation of youth in Kerala.

Recently a Mumbai court had framed charges against Arshi Qureshi. The case relates to the indoctrination of Ashfak Majid and his associates into extreme jihadi ideology by a group of like-minded youths from Kasaragod district of Kerala. It was also stated that some members of the Zakir Naik run NGO, Islamic Research Foundation too were involved in the radicalisation process. It was further alleged that these persons had motivated the youth to join the Islamic state.

Naik has repeatedly claimed that he is being targeted due to his religion. An NIA official however says that this is misconstrued and the agency is targeting him for acts of terror.

In a reply to the Interpol, the NIA said that he is under investigation for funding terror suspects. The NIA also pointed out that it had repeatedly sent out summons to Naik, but he has not once presented himself before the agency. The NIA also said that his passport had been revoked.

Further the NIA also said that Naik's NGO Islamic Research Foundation had been banned by the Government and the same was upheld by the tribunal. He had funded a few terror suspects through his NGO and hence he needs to be questioned in that connection, the NIA also told the Interpol.
Another One India article adds:
Naik not only provoked Moslems to take up arms, but was also involved in an extremely serious conversion racket. Investigations conducted in the year 2016 showed that his organization was active and strong in many parts of the country.

A complaint had been filed by one Ebin Jacob from Kerala, who alleged that his sister had been converted. The lady in question was born as Merrin. However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
following her marriage she was taken to meet Naik's aide, Arshi Qureshi. She had converted and her name was changed to Mirriam.

Sources in the investigating agency tell OneIndia that they have learnt that Rs 50,000 cash would be paid to people who would convert to Islam. "We believe that these were forced conversions which is against the law. Moreover the law on conversions does not permit monetary benefits" sources said.

Naik exploited the situation in Kerala and added to the already existing menace of conversions to Islam. In 2016 two of Naik's aides were arrested and they revealed in detail about this racket. At that time the police had 5,700 conversions under the scanner and it was believed that nearly a 1,000 of them were done by Naik's IRF.

NIA charges 9 Al-Qaeda operatives from Bengal, Kerala who were planning attacks on ‘kafirs’
2021-02-27
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against 11 members of the al-Qaeda module from West Bengal and Kerala.

The case was registered by the NIA based on information about an Al Qaeda inspired module operating in the states of West Bengal and Kerala under the leadership of Murshid Hasan.

The members of this module were in the advanced stage of a conspiracy to execute terrorist attacks in different parts of the country. In well synchronised raids conducted on last year in Kerala and Bengal, nine Lions of Islam were arrested. Subsequently two more operatives were arrested from West Bengal.

Investigation revealed that Murshid Hasan was in touch with Al Qaeda handlers based in Pakistain and Bangladesh and had received instructions along with radical propaganda material through encrypted social media platforms from them.

Murshid Hasan along with his other associates conspired to radicalise and recruit more individuals into the Al Qaeda. They disseminated radical material through social media and encrypted chat platforms with an intention to radicalise and recruit others for establishing an Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
by waging violent mostly peaceful jihad in India.

Investigation also revealed that the group members planned to attack individuals whom they consider Kafirs. The group members had conducted a series of conspiratorial meetings for raising funds for the purchase of arms and ammunitions/kabooms, radicalising and recruiting more members and charting out the future course of action including establishing a Markaz ( a training centre for providing religious and weapons training to new recruits).

The accused persons were also in active communication with an arms dealer through their foreign based handlers and were planning to receive a consignment of sophisticated arms and ammunitions in New Delhi.

However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
their nefarious plans were obviated by their timely arrest by NIA. The accused persons were planning to attack among others, an India based Bangladeshi blogger for his views expressed on social media.

2020-08-25
[DAILYTIMES.PK] The Islamic preacher who left India and moved to Malaysia in 2016, uploaded a video on the Facebook channel, explained how Indian Moslems should respond to the ’harassment and oppression of the Indian government in India.

Zakir Naik
Indian Islamic preacher, founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation, which doesn't rely very heavily on the scientific method. He is also the founder of the oxymoronic Peace TV channel through which he reaches 200 million viewers. He has been called an authority on comparative religion and the most influential Salafi ideologue in India, though usually by himself. Before becoming a public speaker, he trained as a physician. claimed, "Onslaught on Moslem minorities in India over the last four-six years and noted that Indian Moslems were divided along sectarian lines fighting and criticising each other."

Zakir Naik categorised his response into two, "Moslems as a whole and as individuals." Naik said that Indian Moslems as a whole should be united. "Noting they are divided on a basis of different sects in Islam, and belonging to different political parties and social organizations," he added.

Naik urged the Indian Moslems to do Hijra (migration) to other countries or states if they are a minority where they live. "If you have the means to go to a Moslem-majority country, that should be the best," Zakir Naik said. He said that he did "not expect" all Moslems of India to leave the country.

Zakir Naik said Moslems who could not move out of the country could go to another state, "which is more lenient towards Moslems". Naik added that the best state I can think of" is Kerala.
