Ousted NY Rep. Jamaal Bowman pens 'Dear White People' letter after Daniel Penny verdict: 'I don't know why I feel the need to keep talking to you' |
2024-12-11 |
[NYPOST] Ousted Rep. Jamaal FirebugBowman ![]() educator, U.S. representative for New York's safe 16th congressional district since 2021. On September 30, 2023, while House Dems were desperately attempting to delay a vote that avoided shutting the government down so they could blame it on the Pubs, Bowman pulled a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building, causing the building to be evacuated. Bowman told reporters he thought it was a doorknob or something. Capitol Police released a statement saying they were investigating the fire alarm incident, and maybe a few rubes somewhere expected something to come of it. Republicans introduced a motion to expel Bowman from the House but that evaporated too. Bowman issued a statement saying they were Nazis. Bowman is a member of The Squad, a faction of like-minded subversives... (D-NY) argued in a letter addressed just to ''White People'' on Tuesday that ''white supremacy'' is the reason Daniel Penny was acquitted in the subway chokehold death of Jordan Neely. In the bizarre rant, posted on X, the departing ''Squad'' lawmaker further suggested that he doesn't understand why he feels the need to ''keep talking'' to white people. ''Dear White People,'' Bowman's manifesto begins. ''I don't know why I feel the need to keep talking to you. I don't know why part of me still has hope for you and for us. Some of you are too far gone. But maybe enough of you aren't and will join us in fighting to end white supremacy,'' the congressman writes. Bowman, 48, goes on to spotlight several high-profile cases of police violence against black men and women, as well as the 2012 killing of Trayvon Martin by Florida neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman — who was also acquitted of wrongdoing. ''White supremacy is not skin color. It's a state of mind,'' the Bronx and Westchester rep argues after referencing the death of Tyre Nichols, who was beaten by five black Memphis Police Department officers. ''Jordan Neely is the latest,'' Bowman adds. ''He was sick. He was not a threat. He was subdued. Still not a threat. Daniel Penny choked him for 6 minutes. And killed him. We all watched it on camera, and he was still acquitted.'' A community note appended to the tweet thread noted: ''As part of a plea agreement, after punching a 67-year-old woman in 2021, Jordan Neely was given free access to stable housing and healthcare at a treatment facility. Neely abandoned the facility after 13 days.'' X users also added: ''Penny's actions were in response to Neely threatening passengers.'' New York's 16th District pol then asserts that white social media users have ''never'' seen ''a white man killed in cold blood on camera on your newsfeed.'' ''How many times have you even heard about this? The answer is never. You never have,'' Bowman declares. ''And whenever you feel discomfort from your whiteness, Black people are harmed or killed,'' he charges. ''And there is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy. It spans across geography and political parties and sickens us all.'' ''RIP Jordan Neely. The justice system failed you. Kyle Ritenhouse [sic] and Daniel Penny are free. You're gone. We must still fight,'' Bowman's missive ends. Bowman argued that Penny's acquittal was because of ''white supremacy.'' Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, was acquitted of criminally negligent homicide by a Manhattan jury on Monday. Prosecutors argued that Penny was ''criminally reckless'' when he held Neely, who witnesses said was scaring passengers, in an approximately six-minute-long chokehold. Defense attorneys raised doubts about whether Neely died from the chokehold, citing his schizophrenia, drug use and a genetic health condition. Bowman was defeated by Westchester County Executive George Latimer in New York's 16th District Democratic primary earlier this year. The former Bronx middle school principal faced criticism for opposing Israel's war against Hamas and for infamously yanking a fire alarm in a Capitol office building in September 2023. Bowman pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge, agreed to a $1,000 fine and was later censured by the House over the fire alarm pull. He claimed at the time that he ''thought the alarm would open the door'' and pulled it by ''accident,'' %u200B%u200Bsaying he ''was just trying to get to my vote'' for a critical government funding package. Latimer went on to easily beat Republican Miriam Flisser in the general election and will replace Bowman in the House of Representatives next month. Black Lives Matter has nearly $42 million in assets: IRS documents |
2022-05-17 |
And how much in liabilities? [FoxNews] The BLM Foundation has an operating budget of $4 million According to 63-pages of tax documents acquired by the Associated Press, executives of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation Inc. have nearly $42 million in assets, despite spending more than $37 million from July 2020 to June 2021. The $37 million was spent on grants, real estate, consultants and other expenses. BLM received $90 million in donations amid the 2020 protests and riots that were carried out in major cities across the U.S. following the death of George Floyd. The foundation reports it invested $32 million in stocks from the $90 million in donations, according to the tax documents. Organizers tell the Associated Press that the investment is expected to become an endowment to ensure the foundation’s work continues in the future. The foundation has an operating budget of $4 million, a board member told the Associated Press, but the tax filing showed the BLM Foundation spent nearly $6 million on a mansion in Los Angeles, according to the report. The BLM Foundation has operated as a nonprofit sponsored by a charity before it became an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit in December 2020, requiring it to publicly disclose its finances. "This 990 reveals that (the BLM foundation) is the largest Black abolitionist nonprofit organization that has ever existed in the nation’s history. What we’re doing has never been done before," said Shalomyah Bowers, the foundation’s board secretary. Brian Mittendorf, Ph.D., an accounting professor at Ohio State University, said the disclosure will likely set up the foundation for criticism as its "huge windfall" has a "mismatch" and "gaps" in its data. "It comes across as an early startup nonprofit, without substantial governance structure in place, that got a huge windfall," Mittendorf told the outlet. "People are going to be quick to assume that mismatch reflects intent. Whether there’s anything improper here, that is another question," the professor continued. "But whether they set themselves up for being criticized, I think that certainly is the case because they didn’t plug a bunch of those gaps." The BLM Foundation started in 2013 after the death of Trayvon Martin, 17, and grew following the death of Michael Brown, 18, the following year. Chicago teen shot 24 times while buying snacks, family says |
2022-02-17 |
![]() A 15-year-old boy has died after he was shot 24 times near a Chicago gas station while he was out buying snacks, his family said. 24 times? Someone wanted him DRT Sincere Cole was fatally injured in the Chicago Lawn area Saturday night when the unidentified gunman opened fire, WGN9 reported. Police haven’t yet revealed if they have any suspects, and the boy’s family are begging any witnesses to come forward. "I’ve got to stand up here and scream from inside out and make sure I get the word out so he won’t be another name, another number, another tag," his aunt and legal guardian, Brandy Martin, said from the scene of the shooting. Martin said she hopes surveillance footage from nearby stores and apartments will help solve the crime. The grieving aunt said Sincere was a "lovable kid" who was often misunderstood after his mother, Felon Smith, was fatally struck by a Chicago Transit Authority train in 2019. She described him as an "ambitious" child who had taken initiative to better his life. "He was an aspiring rapper, turning his life around" |

Critical Race Theory Is A Societal Dead End |
2021-07-31 |
[LI] The recent survey by Gallup showing a precipitous decline in positive views on race relations would not come as a shock to Legal Insurrection readers who have followed our coverage dating back to Obama’s campaign, the false narratives of the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases, and the more recent rise of Critical Race Theory activism. It’s a theme I was able to talk about on the John DePetro radio show on July 21, the day the Gallup survey was released but before I knew about it. DePetro is a radio talk show host who was voted Best of Rhode Island in 2020. He’s also someone who doesn’t hesitate to get out of the studio and onto the streets to video protests and other news events, and has tons of sources and is very keyed-into the local political intrigue. DePetro has had both Nicole Solas and Ramona Bessinger on his show. During my appearance, I was able to talk about the work Legal Insurrection has been doing in bringing forth and taking national stories about how critical race theory is playing out in schools. What I liked about the interview is that he didn’t try to force a view on me. He asked questions and gave me the room to answer. The video and transcript are below. |

Judicial Watch founder Larry Klayman: Joe Biden Is Dangerously Close To Facing A Coup d'état |
2021-07-07 |
[FreedomFirstNetwork] Today, the Two Mikes had the pleasure of interviewing Lawrence Klayman, a renowned lawyer, and the founder of Judicial Watch and of his current organization, Freedom Watch. Mr. Klayman cogently and clearly explained that America is broken and that our legal system is a smoking ruin. “Our legal system is gone, it’s been taken away from us. We have corrupt judges and a compromised legal system,” Lawrence explained. If the American republic is to be recovered, only the widespread and targeted activities of common American citizens and their organizations can achieve the goal. Mr. Klayman has formed the “New American Independence Party”, and on 5 and 6 July 2021 will hold the “Third Continental Congress” at the reception center of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA. The meeting will discuss and plan ways in which the citizenry can take the fight — in a legal and constitutional manner — to the authoritarians that pack the Biden regime, DoJ, and the FBI. With how out of control our government has gotten recently, Dr Michael Scheuer brought up his concern that peaceful events such as the Third Continental Congress event are not going to be enough to take back our nation. While Mr Klayman made clear that he will never call for violence to take back the White House from Joe Biden, “he is dangerously close to a Coup d’état.” Mr. Klayman also has, for several years, been working on new ways of applying justice in America. Quoting Justice Scalia, Mr. Klayman explained that the grand-jury process actually belongs to the American people as a whole, and not just the three branches of the national government. Given this fact, it is possible for the citizenry to investigate, arrest, try, and convict the offenders, people that the current judicial system ignores or abets, under the parameters of the Constitution and U.S. law. — Mr. Klayman’s website is: http://www.freedomwatchusa.org, and the site contains documents about the organization, content, and goals of next week’s Third Continental Congress. Michael Brown's Father Demands $20M From Black Lives Matter, Other Ferguson Activists Request ‘Funding’ |
2021-03-05 |
h/t HotAir Who had this grift on their 2021 bingo card? The father of Michael Brown is seeking $20M from Black Lives Matter, along with other activists in Ferguson, Missouri. The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation released an impact report to the Associated Press last week which shows a whopping $90M raised last year. Brown would like his piece of the pie now. The deaths of Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012 and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014 were catalysts for the creation of Black Lives Matter. The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation is seen as a steward of the movement. Tens of millions of dollars were raised in 2020, helped tremendously by the protests and marches by BLM, especially during the Summer of Love, after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Celebrities and public figures fell all over themselves to jump on the bandwagon. Now that the movement has found such success, the founders — all self-proclaimed Marxists — want to do more than organize and instigate protest marches that lead to riots. They want to "uplift black joy and liberation." |

Obama Is a Jerk, and It Comes Through With Every Media Appearance |
2020-11-26 |
( Red State )I find it fascinating that former President Obama chose this moment in time to write and publish his book, Promised Land. He could have had it released a year before the elections, or a year from now, once another administration had been settled. Instead, he decided to ride the coattails of the election, as though he had won another term, and capitalize on someone else’s momentum. Obama the 2008 candidate came off as likeable, but that was clearly an act. Obama the 44th President and Obama post-presidency is an insufferable jerk who doesn’t know when to leave the stage. My colleague Nick Arama said it perfectly, "I have to admit that one of the great things about the Trump Administration is that Barack Obama is no longer president. "Now while it’s fair that as a Democrat, he would have policy that I would likely disagree with and yes, want to fight against, often what was most infuriating about Obama was his utter pretense and gall, claiming to be against division while completely cutting people up or siccing his administration on them behind the scenes. "He was always praised by media for being so smooth. But they mistook ’smooth’ for caring, rather than simply being smooth, deceitful and huge narcissist." Big time. It doesn’t help that the Democrat Party keeps calling him back, like a talisman. Obama could refuse, but narcissist that he is, he can’t ignore the siren song of attention. It’s not like he and Michelle aren’t busy making left-leaning, poorly produced Netflix fodder. In fact, he made a big deal that he wanted to stay out of this election (yeah, right). But... As my colleague, Scott Hounsell, says, "Excuse me while I call BS." Obama loves to pontificate and will take any opportunity given to do so. Because he was the leader of the free world for 8 years, he will always be given a stage to do just that. Today’s stage was Charlamagne tha God’s Breakfast Club morning show. Obama was with "his people", so he put on his best "black voice", and spouted his usual bromides and platitudes from 2008-2016 about a "better day" for Americans and Black people. Same Hopey, Changey, mish-mash that is about as deep as a mud puddle and has just as much clarity. As during his presidency, he talked in generalities without diving deeply into connecting those generalities to real-life or real-world experience. Apparently, his book is 768 pages—obviously, Bill Ayers did not write this one for him—so Obama’s penchant for bloviating spills over into this bloated written work. Charlamagne tha God asked what did Obama do for Black people while he was in office. Obama claimed, "Poverty dropped faster than everyone else, Black income went up faster than everyone else. We didn’t advertise that. "A lot of my policies were targeted toward people most in need, those people were disproportionately African-American." "At the end of the day, there is no way in 8 years to make up for 200 years." Is that the President’s job, even the first Black Bi-Racial one? I don’t think so. Increasing food stamp distribution and spouting about how Trayvon Martin could have been your son, are not policy prescriptions that helped anyone, especially Black people. But do sound off about all the difficulties you had during your presidency in "helping" Black folks. Gonna listen to this .@BarackObama interview on Breakfast Club & probably loathe the guy more than I already do after it 🤦🏿♂️ — ROWDY RODDY PARKER 🌉🌁 (@InRodWeTrust83) November 25, 2020 Yeah, Rowdy is feeling me. Barack Obama was on the #BreakfastClub today, "splainin" & babbling when asked why he didn’t do a damn thing to help Black ppl. He went right into that BS "disproportionately affected Black ppl" talk while bringing up a bunch of "lift all" policies. Obama & the Dems are liars pic.twitter.com/uM1rnYEDPE — Tariq Nasheed 🇺🇸 (@tariqnasheed) November 25, 2020 Because I have ignored Obama since he left the presidential stage, I had forgotten how demeaning he could be to people he dislikes or doesn’t understand. He attempts to sound reasonable, but his contempt bleeds through like a leaky pen on white silk. In his discussion on the Senate run-off in Georgia, he went on a tangent about how the rest of the country doesn’t think like "us" urbane city dwellers: "But listen, it’s hard winning in Georgia. Just like it’s hard winning in Iowa. Just like it’s hard winning in a lot of the country. He would know because he won both. He had the goodwill and votes of white people, religious people, gay people, straight people, people of all stripes across the country. Yet, he shows his appreciation by continuing to insult them. "One thing I hope the book also reminds us of; those of us who live in D.C., or New York, or L.A., sometimes we do not have a good enough sense of how big this country is and how a lot of folks do not accept at all things that we, who are living in Urban, Metropolitan areas just take for granted." Like, what, Arugula? Obama makes no bones that he considers the rest of the country that is not a major metropolitan center, hicks and rubes, reminiscent of his Bitter-Clinger comment during the 2008 election. Then, his distaste for Black people who are not like him peeks through. "I deeply believe that people should be treated equally, under the law, regardless of sexual orientation. [...] But we all, I mean, I think there’s huge chunks of my community where that’s still controversial." And who doesn’t? I’ve traveled quite a bit, and there are thriving Gay communities in rural areas as well as urban areas. And who is "my community"? Rich DC elitist? Or the Hollywood set with too much money and too little sense? Obama makes it appear that Gays are hated outside of urban areas and in the Republican Party. Ever heard of Richard Grenell? Ricky Rebel? There was and is prominent support of Trump in the Gay community, but the narcissist that Obama is, he assumes because Obergefell v. Hodges happened during this presidency, that he has a handle of what matters to the Gay community. He’s an idiot. As is his wont, Obama droned on, and this is the comment that got the most steam: "People were surprised about a lot of Hispanic folks who voted for Trump. But, there are a lot of evangelical Hispanics who, the fact that Trump says racist things about Mexicans or puts detainees, undocumented workers in cages, they think that’s less important than the fact that he supports their views on gay marriage and abortion." Of course, his fan club at The Breakfast Club didn’t even challenge him on the fact that "children in cages" was instituted on his watch. So, in this entire ramble, he insults people of faith and maligns an entire ethnic group because they do not support killing babies. If this type of crap had come out of anyone else’s mouth, you’d hear an outcry. But 44 gets away with it and it’s considered erudite. Give me a break. Obama on @breakfastclubam: "... There’s a lot of evangelical Hispanics who, the fact that Trump says racist things about Mexicans, or puts undocumented workers in cages, they think that’s less important than the fact that he supports their views on gay marriage or abortion." pic.twitter.com/8OpocwYrLV — The Recount (@therecount) November 25, 2020 He goes on to claim Republicans create a false message about Democrats like they want to take your guns away. This is the President who won the 2009 "Gun Seller of the Year" award because of the spike in sales of guns and ammunition after he was elected. The same President who politicized the tragedy of Sandy Hook in order to try to institute national gun control. But yeah, Democrats wanting to take your guns away is a Republican trope. Uh-huh... Allie Beth Stuckey coins a perfect phrase for who Obama really is: Obama demeaning Hispanic evangelical voters for their marriage/abortion views is so classically Obama. Always presenting himself as the uniter while smugly condescending those who disagree with him. Give me Trump’s bombastic tweets over Obama’s smooth cruelty any day. — Allie Beth Stuckey (@conservmillen) November 25, 2020 |

More evidence that Breonna Taylor was living on the dark side |
2020-10-12 |
![]() BLM needed Taylor. While mobs were making shrines to George Floyd and congresspeople performed kneeling theater, other people observed that Floyd was a criminal who threatened a pregnant woman with a gun and had rotated in and out of prison. On the day of his death, he’d passed counterfeit money, guzzled illegal drugs, and resisted arrest. We also know now that the officers’ understanding of the situation and their decision to restrain Floyd was consistent with their training. Jacob Blake was also a problem. Rather than being a loving father, he stood accused of sexual assault and violating a restraining order. Blake then wildly resisted arrest and attacked police with a knife. He may also have been planning either to stab the police or kidnap children. Michael Brown, whose death triggered the Ferguson riots, wasn’t much better. The police were looking for the so-called "Gentle Giant" because he had committed a strong-arm robbery. When Officer Darren Wilson wanted to question him, Brown tried to steal Officer Wilson’s gun, justifying a self-defense shooting. Jack Cashill: Zimmerman Suit Spells Trouble for Black Lives Matter |
2020-08-14 |
The lie went round the world while Truth was still tying its shoes. Copious details at the link. [AmericanSpectator] They have a dismal record of blowing up "racial killings" that turn out to be nothing of the kind.I read the "Second Amended Complaint and Demand for Jury Trial" filed August 12 on behalf of George Zimmerman against Sybrina Fulton, Benjamin Crump, et al. without illusion. The major media will shrug off the suit, and even the trial if it comes to that, and Black Lives Matter (BLM) will likely continue on its meretricious way. But maybe not. BLM was launched in 2013 "in response to" Zimmerman’s acquittal in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin a year earlier. In predicting that "Trayvon Martin will forever remain in the annals of history next to Medgar Evers and Emmett Till, as symbols for the fight for equal justice for all," Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump captured the confused mood of much of black America. I attended the Zimmerman trial in July 2013, visited with Bob Zimmerman, George’s father, and surveyed the scene of the crime. At the time, I was writing a book on the case with a deadline six-weeks post-trial. I was guided in my research by the excellent, crowd-sourced deconstruction of the incident done by "Sundance" and his fellow "Treepers" at the blogging collective, "The Conservative Treehouse." We all knew Zimmerman was innocent. We all thought he would be acquitted in anything resembling a fair trial. And we all suspected, but could not prove, that the State of Florida’s star witness, the girlfriend allegedly on the phone with Martin at the moment of his death, was a flat-out impostor. In his stunning 2019 documentary and book of the same name, The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud That Divided America, Los Angeles filmmaker Joel Gilbert proved what we all suspected: The prosecution’s key witness, Rachel Jeantel, was an impostor. To close the case, Gilbert went and found the real girlfriend, Brittany Diamond Eugene, a then-16-year-old Haitian-American woman. With impressive clarity, the Zimmerman lawsuit lays out the case against the defendants — Trayvon’s father Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s mother Sybrina Fulton, Eugene, Jeantel, Crump, and HarperCollins, the publisher of Crump’s compendium of lies, Legalized Genocide of Colored People.
