Mexican president declines Trump's offer of US troops to help fight drug cartels |
2025-05-04 |
[FoxNews] Claudia Sheinbaum rejects US military assistance amid cartel crisis Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum publicly confirmed she rejected U.S. military assistance from President Donald Trump, who was looking to help the country fight drug trafficking and violent cartels. Responding to a Wall Street Journal report Friday that detailed the offer, Sheinbaum confirmed "it's true." Trump reportedly called Sheinbaum and asked, "How can we help you fight drug trafficking?" She told Trump the country will "never accept" the presence of the U.S. Army in its territory. "No, President Trump, our territory is inalienable, sovereignty is inalienable," Sheinbaum said. "We can collaborate. We can work together, but with you in your territory and us in ours. We can share information, but we will never accept the presence of the United States Army on our territory." In a written statement to Fox News Digital Saturday, White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly highlighted coordinated efforts with Mexico to address border security. "President Trump has worked with President Sheinbaum to advance border security collaboration with Mexico to the highest levels ever," Kelly wrote. "This robust cooperation and information sharing is delivering tangible results, including the removal of numerous cartel leaders to the U.S. to face justice and creating the most secure border in history." Since taking office, Trump has continued to use CIA drones to conduct surveillance flights over the country in coordination with the Mexican government. He has also formally named drug cartels "foreign terrorist" groups. However, Kelly said Mexico must do more to protect Americans from dangerous foreign terrorist organizations and "the drugs and violence they flood into communities on both sides of the border." "We will continue exploring ways to enhance our efforts across the region to dismantle these transnational criminal organizations," she wrote. "We will make America safe again." The Heritage Foundation, a top conservative group, released a report in January detailing how Trump could use the military to confront the border crisis. It argued that Mexican cartels are continuing to grow, illegal immigration and narcotics smuggling have accelerated and U.S.-Mexico security cooperation has deteriorated. However, the report noted direct military action against cartels should be a "last resort," preferring joint military action with Mexican coordination, Fox News Digital previously reported. "In the appropriate context, unilateral U.S. military action may be employed to disrupt cartel activity and prompt cooperation from a resistant Mexican government," the group wrote. The foundation claimed Mexico was unlikely to change its stance when Sheinbaum was elected despite the escalating threat from cartels. Is This the Aide Who Abused Joe Biden's Autopen?-Neera Tanden-Soros Acolyte
2025-03-19 | |
![]() The lingering question, of course, is who may have been using the autopen on Biden’s behalf without his knowledge or consent. An explosive New York Post report revealed a disturbing pattern of potential power abuse within the Biden White House, centered around the controversial use of the presidential autopen. One Biden White House source told The Post they suspect that a key aide to the then-president may have made unilateral determinations on what to auto-sign. The Post is not publishing that staffer's name due to the lack of concrete evidence and refutations by other colleagues. The timeline is damning. On Dec. 30, 2022, while Biden was allegedly golfing in St. Croix, six pardons magically appeared with his signature. Tanden's response? A desperate attempt at deflection, trying to turn the tables by questioning Trump's own autopen usage. Nice try, Neera, but there's a difference between delegated authority and potentially hijacking presidential powers. The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, which broke the scandal, called her out specifically. This isn't just about pardons or autopenned signatures. It's about who was actually running our country. Was it Joe Biden? Or was it radical operatives like Tanden, who went from heading a far-left think tank to potentially wielding presidential power without proper authorization? The Biden administration's deafening silence on social media speaks volumes. They can't defend the indefensible, so they're hoping this scandal will just disappear. But Trump's declaration has ensured this constitutional crisis won't be swept under the rug. Related: Autopen 03/11/2025 Wanye Root: The Criminal Case Against Barack Obama - Part 3. Honda moves Civic production plans to Indiana from Mexico to avoid tariffs: report |
2025-03-05 |
[NYPOST] As Canada and Mexico braced for 25% tariffs on Tuesday, and China for another 10%, Honda became one of the first companies to cave — scrapping plans to produce its new Civic in Mexico in favor of Indiana, according to a report. The Japanese auto giant had initially planned to manufacture the next-generation Civic in Guanajuato, Mexico, starting in November 2027, sources familiar with the matter told Rooters. Now, Honda plans to manufacture the new Civic in Indiana, starting in May 2028 — churning out around 210,000 vehicles each year, a source told the outlet. 2025 Honda Civic hybrid model. 4 Honda's capitulation reflects the immediate impact of Trump's pledge to return manufacturing to the US by imposing tariffs on rival nations, experts told The Post. ''I think Trump has been effective at using tariffs, and the threat of tariffs, to get more made-in-America jobs here,'' Stephen Moore, economist and senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told The Post. List of large corporations ditching DEI policies keeps growing |
2025-01-13 |
From a few days ago — catching up to the state of play. [JustTheNews] About 25 companies have relaxed their DEI policies amid pressure to accept the conventional wisdom of the times: "Get Woke, Go Broke."Several major companies operating in the U.S. are backing away from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, while educational institutions are continuing to push such initiatives. McDonald's on Monday became the latest major American corporation to reverse some of its diversity policies. Over the course of about a year, at least 25 companies have relaxed their DEI policies amid pressure. Republican political activists and advisers have pushed companies to cancel their diversity-oriented policies, including America First Legal President Stephen Miller and conservative activist Robby Starbuck. Miller has been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump ![]() to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor in his second administration. However, Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... while corporate America has started easing off DEI policies, many educational institutions are moving in the opposite direction, according to Goldwater Institute Director of Education Policy Mike Beienburg. "Fortunately, I think the momentum is starting to run out from this," Beienburg told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show on Tuesday. "You know, we're seeing companies that are pulling back from this, but when it comes to education, we are seeing full steam ahead. "They're retreating in some areas, you know, pulling back on these forced diversity statements where they're making, you know, applicants say, ’I support treating students differently based upon race,’ or ’I support battling the so-called, you know, systemic oppression.’ But even as they're making some retreats here, we're still seeing them double down on these issues of putting DEI forward and saying, we're going to force students ... to go in and continue to take these courses." Some companies, such as Costco and Jaguar, are also doubling down on diversity-focused policies. According to a report released by The Heritage Foundation in November, almost all Fortune 500 companies still maintain DEI incentives. Here is a list of the companies that have revised or canceled their DEI policies, or reduced staffing for their programs:

The public college in a deep-red state that blows $13M on DEI and fighting 'whiteness'
2025-01-11 | |
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A top US public university in a deep-red state blows through $13 million a year on its huge diversity team, a shocking study shows. Auditors say Ohio State University's
OpenTheBooks.com, which tracks public funds, lifted the lid on how such college DEI chiefs as James L. Moore and Keesha Mitchell earn an eye-popping $300,000 each year — about five times a typical Ohio salary. OSU has queried how the $13 million figure was calculated, but did not dispute the sum and, when asked, did not offer an alternate estimate of its annual DEI spend. DEI has become a battleground issue between progressives, who say it helps women and minorities get ahead in education, and conservatives, who say it amounts to reverse discrimination against white men. President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to make America's colleges 'sane and affordable' in a major overhaul of the Department of Education that would involve sacking 'all Marxist diversity, equity, and inclusion bureaucrats.' John Hart, CEO of OpenTheBooks.com, said he was stunned by OSU's oversize DEI budget in a state where Trump, a Republican, won by a thumping 11 percentage points in November. 'This isn't Harvard. This is Buckeye Nation,' Hart told the DailyMail.com. 'Ohio has become a deep-red state, and yet we find this agenda has been financed to the tune of $13M — just for salaries alone. 'The identity politics agenda is totally out of step with states like Ohio, yet it has enjoyed lavish financing at a flagship university.' Researchers counted 201 employees with DEI-related roles in 2023 — 132 of them in the main offices of 'Diversity and Inclusion' and 'Institutional Equity,' and the rest spread out throughout the institution. They included the 26 scholars working in the area of women's gender and sexuality studies, including the professors Shannon Winnubst and Treva Lindsey, who both earn more than $150,000 a year. Courses in that department now include 'Sexualities and Citizenship, which covers the 'contemporary lesbian experience' and the bizarrely named 'Queer Ecologies: Gender, Sexuality, & the Environment.' That course seeks to 'disrupt the gendered and heterosexual assumptions embedded in how we understand the environment' and lays out 'queer' ways to address climate change, says a course description. It's not the first time that OSU has been targeted for DEI bloat — vice president-elect JD Vance, an OSU graduate, in 2023 wrote to officials and took to social media to decry the 'troubling rise of racial prejudice on campus.' 'If universities keep pushing racial hatred, euphemistically called DEI, we need to look at their funding,' he posted. He called DEI a 'modern gloss on racism, anti-Semitism, and other ancient prejudices' and called it a 'rot' that 'is pervasive at Ohio State.' That same year, an investigation by Do No Harm, a conservative medical group, found that OSU's health sciences courses pushed students to tackle any 'privileges' they might have for being white, straight, or able-bodied. This included course reading materials from the feminist activist and scholar Peggy McIntosh, about how white people are 'subtly trained' to mete out 'hostility, distress, and violence … upon people of color.' OSU spokesman Benjamin Johnson defended the school, saying it was difficult to calculate exactly how much is spent on DEI efforts, and that OpenTheBooks.com had released their report 'without the university's input or guidance'. 'Ohio State values diversity of thought, protects freedom of expression and works to foster a welcoming environment for Ohioans from every community in this state,' said Johnson. Much of the university's DEI funding was spent on helping immigrants, people with disabilities or young children, and cash-strapped people from 'rural Ohio and Appalachia' get an education, he added. Founded in 1870, OSU, with 65,000 students and 7,300 academic staff, is among America's largest universities and in the 'Big Ten' athletic conference, which now has 18 members. OSU and other public schools raise money from many sources, including tuition fees, endowments, and their sports teams, but also receive taxpayer money from federal, state and local sources. OSU spends more on DEI than other public schools, but less than the University Of North Carolina, at about $90 million a year, and the roughly $20 million a year at the University of Virginia, according to Openthebooks.com. DEI staff now make up more than 3.4 positions for every 100 tenured professors, according to nationwide research by The Heritage Foundation, stoking fears of a ballooning sector that some say is no more than a woke box-ticking exercise. Across the country, conservative lawmakers have begun to target diversity programs in state agencies, schools and private companies. At least 10 Republican-leaning states have cracked down on DEI in recent years: Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. Some of these policies ban state funds from being used for diversity-based programs, activities, and offices on college campuses, as seen in Alabama. Some states, like Texas, ban diversity offices at universities altogether. Ohio's state anti-DEI bill failed to clear the House in 2024, but its sponsor, state Rep. Jerry Cirino, says he'll try again in 2025 and aim to end 'inherently discriminatory' policies in Ohio colleges. Hart, from the OpenTheBooks.com, says he expects state lawmakers to take more action this year. 'Even though it feels like the tide is turning against DEI, dismantling the DEI infrastructure will not be easy,' he said. 'The Trump administration will roll back these programs within the federal government, so in some ways we're going to see the battleground move to the states. Dozens of governors and legislatures can use our findings to take action.' Related: Ohio State University: 2024-08-05 Ohio pastor equates J.D. COVID-19: The Preventable Pandemic
2024-08-27 | ||
[The Daily Signal] When The Heritage Foundation released its comprehensive report on the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, headlines tended to focus on the cost to the U.S. That’s not surprising: At an eye-popping $18 trillion, it’s almost 10 times the projected 2024 budget deficit. At least in Hillsboro, Ohio - similar article published August 25. ![]()
The commission’s assessment that the pandemic cost the U.S. alone $18 trillion includes $8.6 trillion in "excess deaths," $1.8 trillion in income lost, $6 trillion in chronic conditions like "long COVID," $1.1 trillion in mental health costs, and $400 million in education losses. To avoid a future pandemic and hold the Chinese government accountable, the commission report concluded with several practical recommendations for the U.S. government: 1. Establish a bipartisan national COVID-19 commission ... The COVID-19 pandemic was almost certainly the deadliest and costliest event of the 21st century. Beijing’s ability to escape virtually any accountability—and the global media’s relative disinterest in the pandemic’s origins, cost, and China’s culpability—are equal parts confounding and infuriating. Battleground states absent hurdles to place Harris on ballot |
2024-07-23 |
[JustTheNews] Because Biden dropped out before becoming the official candidate of the Democratic Party, it does make it easier to replace him than if it had been after the Democratic National Convention. Election laws in all seven battleground states will allow Democrats to place onto ballots the name of Vice President Kamala Harris, or another candidate if one materializes. As President Joe Biden’s supporters rally around Harris to take his spot as the party nominee, Republicans are planning legal challenges. Biden announced his decision via social media Sunday afternoon, with one month until the Aug. 19-22 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada are commonly-labeled swing states. Collectively, there are 93 electoral college votes among them. No opposition to Harris emerging since Sunday's social media announcement, Democratic delegates across the country swiftly moved to align support from a primary season where voters created enough pledged delegates for Biden. Patrick Gannon, the public information director for the North Carolina State Board of Elections, said the state’s laws will accommodate this change. “County boards of elections [in North Carolina] start sending absentee ballots to voters who have requested them on September 6, which I believe is the earliest in the country,” Gannon said in an email to The Center Square. He said that once the convention is held and the candidates are nominated, the ballots for North Carolina will be prepped. “In general, our agency requests that candidate names be given to us by mid-August so that there is sufficient time to prepare, proof, and print the ballots before the September 6 distribution deadline for absentee ballots. We should be able to accommodate the Democratic convention schedule, especially since we know there is a Democratic Party line that will go on every ballot, and we are simply waiting for names to insert before ballots are printed,” he said. North Carolina, which has 16 electoral votes, has been won by Republicans in all but two of the last 14 cycles. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, has promised to sue if Biden drops out. While Marguerite Bowling, senior communications manager, told The Center Square in an email that “the team is holding off on any media requests for now,” more is likely coming from The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. “We have been preparing for this moment for months. Many in the media tried discrediting us. Who is laughing now? No more ‘make it up as you go’ elections. Stay tuned…,” said the Oversight Project in a statement on social media following Biden’s announcement. Because Biden dropped out before becoming the official candidate of the Democratic Party, it does make it easier to replace him than if it had been after the Democratic National Convention. Pennsylvania is the swing state with the most electoral votes (19) and a new candidate will have no problem being placed on the ballot, according to Matt Heckel, press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of State. “Under the Pennsylvania Election Code, the presidential and vice presidential nominees selected at the Democratic National Convention will appear on the general election ballot as the Democratic candidates for president and vice president,” Heckel said in an email to The Center Square. “Because the 2024 Democratic National Convention has not yet taken place, no nominees have been selected for the November ballot.” It is the same in Wisconsin, where the Democratic Party has until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, to inform the Wisconsin Election Commission of its nominated candidates for president and vice president. Riley Vetterkind, public information officer for the Wisconsin Election Commission confirmed this information with The Center Square. In other battleground states: • Michigan (15 electoral college votes): The presidential candidate must be submitted within one business day of the party’s state convention or national convention, whichever is later. Ballots will be prepared beginning Sept. 6. “Presidential candidates are certified to appear on Michigan’s general election ballot as a result of the outcome of their respective party’s nominating conventions," said a statement to The Center Square from Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel. • Arizona (11): The Democratic candidate can be changed up until 75 days before the election, which is Aug. 22. • Georgia (11): Candidates must be submitted 60 days prior to Election Day, which is Sept. 6. • Nevada (six): Normally, Democrats have until the fourth Friday in July, which is July 26, to nominate their candidates. But, due to an amendment passed in September 2023, major political parties now have until the first business day in September to submit names. This year, that's Sept. 3. |

Tucker Carlson says 'spiritual battle underway' in wake of Trump assassination attempt |
2024-07-17 |
[CP-TCN Video] Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson on Monday framed the recent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump as further evidence that evil spiritual forces are at work in the United States. Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carlson also noted that Christians pose the greatest threat to the destructive spiritual forces that have taken different forms throughout history. Echoing the April 2023 address he gave at The Heritage Foundation's 50th anniversary just days before his unceremonious ouster from Fox News, Carlson reiterated Monday that the increasingly irrational, violent nature of the country's political battles suggest that they run "deeper" than politics. ![]() Related: Tucker Carlson 07/14/2024 Meta eases restrictions on Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts Tucker Carlson 07/06/2024 Two IDF soldiers lightly wounded in Hezbollah rocket barrage on Kiryat Shmona Tucker Carlson 07/05/2024 Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: July 4, 2024 |

Biden Cannot be Replaced on Ballot in Three Swing States, Except for Death or 25th Amendment |
2024-07-02 |
[GatewayPundit] However, it may already be too late to remove Joe Biden from the ballot. The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project is gearing up for a counter-fight should Democrats attempt to pull Biden off the top of the ticket, the Daily Mail reported. “We are monitoring the calls from across the country for President Biden to step aside, either now or before the election, and have concluded that the process for substitution and withdrawal is very complicated. We will remain vigilant that appropriate election integrity procedures are followed,” said Mike Howell, Executive Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. The Heritage Oversight Project has identified three swing states – Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin – where they believe removing Biden from the Democratic ticket would prevent anyone else from replacing him. Wisconsin does not allow withdrawal from the ballot for any reason besides death, while in Nevada, no changes can be made to the ballotafter 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year unless ‘a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent.’ In Georgia, if Biden were to withdraw less than 60 days before the election, his name would remain on the ballot but no votes would be counted. |

‘Reminder to vote for President Biden when you are in the United States. We need another four years of his term to stay open’
2024-04-17 | ||
An advocacy group based in Northeastern Mexico that lobbies U.S. lawmakers has distributed and posted flyers encouraging illegal immigrants to vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 election, according to The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. Translated from Spanish, the Oversight Project notes, the flyers posted by the organization Resource Center Matamoros say: “Reminder to vote for President Biden when you are in the United States. We need another four years of his term to stay open.” (The Daily Signal is Heritage’s news and commentary outlet.) The pro-Biden flyers, discovered by Muckraker and shared with the Oversight Project, were found throughout Resource Center Matamoros in Tamaulipas, Mexico, including on the walls of portable toilets, a video shows. It’s not clear whether RCM authorized the flyers, whether any action was taken to address their presence at the shelter for migrants, or who posted the flyers. The city of Matamoros, located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, borders Brownsville, Texas, where Biden spoke in February about the crisis of illegal immigration at the southern border. Federal law bans foreign nationals, or non-U.S. citizens, from voting in federal elections. On Friday, former President Donald Trump endorsed proposed legislation by House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., that would require proof of citizenship to vote in U.S. elections. Resource Center Matamoras describes itself as a six-unit office complex that is “the home for HIAS, which is providing legal assistance and assistance with obtaining formal documents for job search and integration into the city of Matamoros as they wait to access the asylum process in the U.S.” HIAS, founded more than 100 years ago to help Jews fleeing persecution in Europe, originally stood for Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
The website of Resource Center Matamoras says its founder and executive director, Gaby Zavala, partnered with Mike Benavides of the community organization Team Brownsville in November 2023 to brief members of Congress about the humanitarian crisis at the Mexico-Texas border. Zavala previously was an organizer for La Union del Pueblo Entero, or LUPE, a group founded by the late labor leader Cesar Chavez, who was an opponent of illegal immigration. LUPE is listed among partners of the George Soros-backed Open Society Institute. Biden Lied 30 Times During The State Of The Union |
2024-03-11 |
[Federalist] President Biden has been known to tell some pretty outrageous lies throughout his political career. So, it came as no surprise when Ol’ Sleepy Joe spewed out more than a few whoppers during his State of the Union address on Thursday. From foreign policy to the economy, there was almost no subject in which the president didn’t lie to the American people. In case you missed his dumpster fire speech, here’s the definitive list of Biden’s biggest SOTU falsehoods. 1. Sending Money To Ukraine Biden claimed that Republicans who oppose sending additional U.S. taxpayer dollars to Ukraine are doing so because they want America to "walk away from our leadership in the world." That is false. Opponents of endlessly funding Ukraine’s war with Russia have regularly stated that American interests must come before those of other nations. 2. Trump’s NATO Remarks Biden claimed former President Trump told Vladimir Putin, "Do whatever the hell you want," regarding Russia’s invasion of Eastern Europe. But that’s not accurate. The former president’s remarks came during a recent South Carolina rally, during which Trump recounted a story from when he was president and speaking with a NATO member. Trump purportedly told this state that he would withhold U.S. support if they didn’t pay their minimum defense spending obligations. "’You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’" Trump recalled telling the unidentified NATO member. "’No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.’" 3. World Security And Ukraine Biden claimed "the free world is at risk" if the U.S. doesn’t ship more American taxpayer dollars to Ukraine. There is literally no evidence to support this assertion. 4. Jan. 6 Demonstrations The president claimed that the Jan.6, 2021, demonstrations at the U.S. Capitol and concerns and lawsuits regarding the integrity of the 2020 election "posed the gravest threat to [American] democracy since the Civil War." Contrary to Biden’s claim, the J6 events did not put American self-governance in jeopardy, nor did it expose Americans to risks like those experienced during World War I, the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, or World War II, to name a few. 5. Alabama IVF Issue Biden falsely contended the Alabama Supreme Court "shut down IVF treatments across the state." That is not what the decision said. As The Federalist’s Jordan Boyd reported, Alabama’s highest court "ruled that embryos are people with inherent value, not legal property." 6. Kate Cox Biden claimed the life of Kate Cox, a Texas woman who left the Lonestar State to obtain an abortion, was "at risk" during her pregnancy. As Susan Bane wrote in these pages, Cox’s now-deceased unborn baby was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, "a condition associated with severe developmental delays." These children "can sometimes thrive into their early twenties." Cox was not at risk of dying from the diagnosis, however. 7. Covid Shots And Cancer Biden falsely claimed the Covid jabs are "now being used to help beat cancer." 8. 15 Million New Jobs The president regurgitated the lie that his administration has "created 15 million new jobs." That assertion is false, as Biden conflated jobs recovered after Covid lockdowns with actual, new jobs created. 9. U.S. Inflation Rate Biden claimed the U.S. has "the lowest" inflation rate in the world. Numerous countries currently have a lower inflation rate. 10. Consumer Confidence The president said that "consumer studies show consumer confidence is soaring." MarketWatch reported last month, however, that the consumer confidence index "fell to 106.7 from a revised 110.9 in January." 11. Drug Prices Biden said he’s "ending" the trend of Americans paying "more for prescription drugs than anywhere else." That is false, as Reuters recently reported that new drugs released by pharmaceutical companies last year were "at prices 35% higher than in 2022." 12. Biden Beat Big Pharma The president claimed his administration "beat Big Pharma!" However, the president empowered pharmaceutical companies when he unlawfully attempted to mandate private businesses force their employees to receive the Covid shot. 13. Student Loans Biden contended that he "fixed student loan programs to reduce the burden of student debt for nearly 4 Million Americans, including nurses, firefighters, and others in public service." That is false. Biden’s illegal efforts merely transferred the responsibility of paying back these loans to individuals who never attended college or had already paid back their loans. 14. Decreasing The Federal Deficit Biden falsely claimed he "cut the federal deficit by over one trillion dollars" and has been "delivering real results in a fiscally responsible way." Both claims are false. In fact, the U.S. national debt has risen by more than 6 trillion since Biden took office. 15. Corporations Aren’t Paying Their Fair Share Biden insinuated that "big corporations and the very wealthy" do not "pay their fair share." As organizations such as The Heritage Foundation have reported, wealthy Americans pay the "large majority of taxes" in the United States. 16. Trump Tax Cuts Biden falsely claimed the Trump tax cuts "overwhelmingly benefit[ed] the very wealthy and the biggest corporations." Data produced by the IRS has shown that "on average all income brackets benefited substantially from the Republicans’ tax reform law, with the biggest beneficiaries being working and middle-income filers, not the top 1 percent," according to The Hill. 17. The National Debt Under Trump Biden stated that the Trump administration "added more to the national debt than in any presidential term in American history." This is untrue. Democrats’ favorite "fact-checking" outlet, PolitiFact, admitted that "former President Barack Obama accumulated more debt than Trump." 18. Inflation Reduction Act In an apparent reference to the so-called "Inflation Reduction Act," Biden claimed "nobody earning less than $400,000 will pay an additional penny in federal taxes." Yet, estimates produced by the Joint Committee on Taxation predict that the Democrats’ bill does "nothing to bring the economy out of stagnation and recession, but it will raise billions of dollars in taxes on Americans making less than $400,000." 19. How Many Billionaires? The president claimed there are 1,000 billionaires in the U.S. According to Forbes, there are 735 billionaires in America as of 2023. 20. How Much Billionaires Pay In Taxes Biden falsely claimed the average federal tax rate for billionaires is 8.2 percent. Once again, the left’s favorite "fact-checking" site, PolitiFact, rated the president’s assertion "false," as "the richest Americans pay an effective tax rate of more than 20% on the income the government counts under the current tax code." 21. The Ukraine-Border Bill Biden claimed the border boondoggle negotiated behind closed doors by Senate leadership contained "the toughest set of border security reforms we’ve ever seen" and would "bring order to the border." That statement could not be further from the truth, as the bill would have only exasperated the ongoing southern border invasion. 22. Election Law Falsehoods The president insinuated that Republican-backed election integrity measures, supported by most Americans, take "us back in time" and constitute "voter suppression" and "election subversion." There has never been any evidence these laws do what the president suggested. 23. Book Bans The president regurgitated the falsehood that conservatives are banning books. 24. ’Lincoln’ Riley Biden claimed an illegal immigrant killed a young woman named "Lincoln" Riley. That is incorrect. Her name is Laken Riley. 25. Trump’s Comments On Iowa School Shooting Biden misrepresented remarks given by Trump in response to a January Iowa school shooting, which left one dead and several injured. As The Federalist reported, the shooter "flirted with Democrat gender ideology." In his SOTU address, Biden claimed Trump told Iowans to "get over it." Of course, Biden took the comments out of context, which shows Trump sympathizing with the victims and speaking about the importance of moving forward as a community. "To the entire community, we love you, we pray for you, and we ask God to heal and comfort, really, the whole state. ... We’re really with you as much as anybody can be. It’s a very terrible thing that happened," Trump said. "It’s just terrible. ... That’s just horrible. It’s so surprising to see it here. ... But we have to get over it. We have to move forward. ... To all the relatives, and all the people who are devastated right now, to the point they can’t breathe, they can’t live, we are with you all the way." 26. The Second Amendment The president falsely claimed that a "ban" on so-called "assault weapons" doesn’t constitute a violation of the Second Amendment. 27. Biden’s Teaching Career Biden falsely asserted he "taught the Second Amendment for 12 years." 28. Gaza Deaths Biden said that "most" of the people killed in Gaza "are not Hamas," including "thousands [who] are innocent women and children." Given that these figures are provided by "local authorities" (A.K.A. Hamas), it’s unknown whether they are accurate. 29. America’s Prospects Challenging China Biden claimed the U.S. is "in a stronger position to win the competition for the 21st Century against China or anyone else for that matter." Given the ongoing border invasion, economic woes, and foreign policy failures under Biden’s presidency, this statement is not true. 30. The Idea Of America Biden ludicrously contended that America has "never fully lived up to" the idea that "we are all created equal." |

New York rule change makes thousands of migrants eligible for cash payments |
2024-02-19 |
Free money from the state's Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. [FoxNews] As many as 17,000 migrants could be receiving the payments in New York City. The state of New York has been giving cash payments to thousands of migrants who typically would not qualify for the state's welfare program. Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul's administration quietly changed the state's "Safety Net Assistance" program eligibility rules in May to allow non-citizens who have pending applications for asylum to receive benefits, making thousands of migrants eligible for the payments, according to a report from the New York Post and confirmed by Fox News Digital. The move was made through the state's Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, which sent a message to social services agencies in the state, the report notes, though the agency would not say how many migrants are currently receiving payments. Reached for comment by Fox News Digital, an OTDA spokesperson said just a "small portion" of the $4.3 billion the governor set aside for the migrant crisis has been used for the payments, estimating that about 90% of the current migrant population in the state would not be eligible for the benefits under the new rules. "At the request of New York City, OTDA made a technical update to allow a small percentage of migrants to receive certain additional support in compliance with state and federal law," the spokesperson said. But the report notes that over 173,000 migrants have made their way to New York City alone since 2022, meaning that if 10% of them were receiving payments it would amount to about 17,000 recipients in the city alone. Migrants only qualify for the payments if they completed their paperwork to apply for asylum status and can only use the checks, which total hundreds of dollars per month, to pay for rent, utilities, clothing or other necessities, according to the report. Michael Kracker, the chairman of the Erie County Republican Committee, told Fox News Digital the payments are "deeply offensive to hard-working New Yorkers, many who are struggling." Kracker pointed out that some of those who are struggling are homeless veterans, who, he argued, "are looking for help from their state." "Their state is choosing instead to provide assistance to these individuals, many of whom are ultimately going to be found to be in this country illegal," Kracker said. The revelations of the payments were slammed by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., who argued they served as "another way to attract migrants" to New York while lower- and middle-class natives of the city struggle to make ends meet. "You have people from all over the world coming to New York to take advantage of all these left-wing programs the governor, the mayor are implementing, while at the same time, they’re clobbering taxpayers over the head," Malliotakis told the New York Post. The policy was also criticized by Democratic City Councilman Robert Holden, who said the "endless handouts to the entire world are a slap in the face to every citizen who has contributed to and sacrificed for this country." Lora Ries, the director of the Border Security and Immigration Center at The Heritage Foundation, echoed a similar sentiment, telling Fox News Digital that New York leaders "should be choosing U.S. citizens every time over illegal aliens when it comes to distributing limited resources." "Requesting faster work permits, and providing pre-paid credit cards and welfare benefits only encourages more illegal immigration," Ries said. "Then, the billions they have set aside will be quickly drained, they will need to spend more taxpayer money, and this cycle becomes a fiscal bottomless pit." But the OTDA said that only people in the country legally would be eligible for benefits. "To be clear: no one here illegally is eligible for these benefits," the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
