| Akron terrorist pleads guilty, awaiting sentencing |

| An Akron man pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Cleveland to terrorism charges stemming from the release of the names and addresses of members of the military with a message urging people to attack them on behalf of the Islamic State group. Terrence McNeil, 26, faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced at noon Aug. 2 by U.S. District Judge Dan Aaron Polster. “While we aggressively defend First Amendment rights, the individual arrested went far beyond free speech by reposting names and addresses of 100 U.S. service members, all with the intent to have them killed,” Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony of the FBI’s Cleveland Division said in a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. “We will remain vigilant in our efforts to stop those who wish to support these despicable acts.” McNeil was charged with a long list of terrorism-related crimes. Prosecutors say McNeil, a onetime hospital employee, posted a file on his Tumblr page in September 2015 that contained the names and addresses of military personnel. They say he urged supporters of the Islamic State group to kill the people he mentioned. |

| Federal authorities say an Ohio man has been indicted on more criminal charges for using a social media site to incite violence against U.S. military members on behalf of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Twenty-five-year-old Terrence McNeil, of Akron, was originally indicted in December on three counts each of solicitation of a crime of violence and threatening military personnel. Nine additional charges were added in a new federal indictment handed up Friday in Cleveland, kept in touch with the world by Obamaphone, ...was ruled by a Democrat machine from 1942 through 1971. After the river caught fire during the administration of Carl Stokes they tried a Republican, then went back to being Democrats when the party hacked up Dennis Kucinich ... The government accuses McNeil, a one-time hospital employee, of posting a file on his Tumblr account in September 2015 that purportedly contained the names and addresses of military personnel. | Akron Ohio man arrested for soliciting murder of US servicemen |

| AKRON, Ohio -- The FBI on Thursday arrested an Akron man on a terrorism-related charge, as agents say he solicited the killing of members of the military in the name of an Islamic terrorist group. Terrence McNeil, 25, is charged with one count of solicitation of a crime of violence. McNeil, according to U.S. Attorney's Office, supported the Islamic State, a terrorist organization also known as ISIL. He is accused of uploading a file on Sept. 24 to a Tumblr account that showed photos, addresses and military branch of people believed to be members of the military. One of the slides in the file reads: "O Brothers in America, know that the jihad against the crusaders is not limited to the lands of the Khilafah, it is a world-wide jihad and their war is not just a war against the Islamic State, it is a war against Islam...Know that it is wajib (translated to "necessary") for you to kill these kuffar! and now we have made it easy for you by giving you addresses, all you need to do is take the final step, so what are you waiting for? Kill them in their own lands, behead them in their own homes, stab them to death as they walk their streets thinking that they are safe..." The final image in the file shows a photo of a handgun and a knife with a note that says "and kill them wherever you find them ..." according to prosecutors. The file then loops several dozen photographs, believed to be of U.S. military personnel, along with their respective name, address and military branch. The final image looped is a picture of a handgun and a knife with text that reads "...and kill them wherever you find them..." |
