Don Surber: We don't have a free press |
2022-12-11 |
We don't have a free press. If we had a free press, 30 reporters would never pose with Nancy Pelosi as if they were her ladies-in-waiting. If we did, Hillary's 30,000 emails sent to a trucking company in Red China would have stopped her presidential bid. If we had a free press, Seth Rich's murder would have been bigger than George Floyd's overdose death. If we had a free press, journalists would not seek the approval of John Podesta (Hillary's henchman) as we learned in the DNC emails leaked by Seth Rich. If we had a free press, Hillary's fake charity which laundered bribes from foreigners would have landed her in prison. If we had a free press, the FBI spying on Donald Trump would have landed Barack Obama in prison as well. If we had a free press, Jim Comey would have been Obama's cellmate. If we had a free press, Bob Mueller would have remained retired and enjoying his grandchildren. If we had a free press, we would know the motive for Stephen Paddock's massacre of 60 people and wounding of 413 other people at the Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017. If we had a free press, fact-checkers would have told us in 2008 that you can keep your doctor was a lie and not wait until 2013 when it was too late to undo the election and re-election of Barack Obama. If we had a free press, there would have been at least one newspaper in West Virginia that endorsed Donald Trump. If we had a free press, covid would be called the Wuhan Flu. If we had a free press, the covid shots would never be mandatory for anyone except those in a nursing home. If we had a free press, the Democrat riots of 2020 would have been called the George Floyd riots instead of mostly peaceful protests. If we had a free press, Twitter never would have been able to censor conservatives or ban the president. If we had a free press, Trump's rally at the National Mall would have been the news on January 6, not the people lured into the Capitol by FBI informants and the Capitol Police. If we had a free press, ballot harvesting would land people in jail instead of electing John Fetterman to the Senate. If we had a free press, there would have been no impeachments. If we had a free press, Hunter Biden's laptop would have cost his father the election. If we had a free press, General Milley's admission that he called a Red Chinese general without DOD approval would have landed him in the brig. If we had a free press, the raid on Mar-a-Lago would have led to an investigation of the FBI for abuse of its power. If we had a free press, the hammer attack of Paul Pelosi would still be in the news. Finally, if we had a free press, I would defend it. |

'FBI whistleblower believes 2017 Vegas shooter was ISIS agent of revenge |
2022-10-05 |
BLUF: [PJ] But Mateen himself told the world he committed the act on behalf of ISIS in retaliation for an ISIS leader’s death. He’d been on the FBI’s radar for his radicalization. Former FBI special agent John Guandolo told Turning Point USA in a recorded interview (below) that there’s a 90% certainty that the Las Vegas attack was a jihadi operation and Stephen Paddock was the conduit through which the terrorist organization attacked America. In the interview, Guandolo said, "When you look at what actually transpired and put it together from a counter-espionage attack and counter-espionage look, the probability that was an ISIS attack is well over 90%." He said the special agent in charge of the Las Vegas FBI field office "got angry and dismissed it, and when presented with the information, FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., dismissed it out of hand." Guandolo said he’d been asked to brief "a couple of people; members of Congress and others." He said, "The FBI both in Washington, LA, and Las Vegas that participated in that investigation can’t even begin to think of it as a jihadi attack, because number one, they still don’t understand what that actually means." He continued, "they don’t understand what actually happens and they have no desire to understand what happened. So their knee-jerk reaction in these cases is always to dismiss that and point in a different direction, because they’ve been conditioned to do so." He concludes, "I mean, it only points to an ISIS attack. It does not point anywhere else. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack five times. They said that guy, he’s our guy. We hail him, he’s a martyr." A woman wounded in the 2017 Las Vegas shooting has died of her injuries
2019-11-19 | |
[CNN] A Southern California woman who was wounded in the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting has died, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Coroner Department said. Kimberly Gervais, 57, of Mira Loma, California, was one of the more than 500 people injured when Stephen Paddock
Fifty-eight people were killed in the attack, making it the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history. Gervais' death could potentially be the 59th fatality, depending on the findings of an autopsy. Gervais, who suffered spinal injuries and had been recovering at a nursing facility in Redlands, California, died Friday, the coroner said in a statement Monday.

Dealer who sold ammo to Las Vegas shooter indicted |
2018-08-24 |
[FoxNews] An Arizona man who sold ammunition to the gunman in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history was charged Wednesday in Nevada on a charge of engaging in the business of making ammunition without a license. The indictment against Douglas Haig of Mesa doesn't mention his sales to Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 people at a music festival 10 months ago from his hotel room in Las Vegas. The charge says Haig sold ammunition without a license from July 2016 until mid-October 2017, but makes no mention of the Las Vegas attack. Prosecutors said in a statement that Haig sold armor-piercing ammunition throughout the United States, including Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming, and South Carolina. Haig told investigators that he reloads ammunition, but doesn't sell such cartridges to customers — and that none of the ammunition recovered in the Las Vegas attack would have tool marks consistent with his reloading equipment, prosecutors said. |

The Las Vegas Shooting Case Is Closed ‐ But Police Didn't Determine A Motive
2018-08-06 | |
[Yahoo] Vegas police have concluded that the shooter, Stephen Paddock, acted alone, unaffiliated with any terrorist organization. According to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, no one else will be charged in connection to the tragedy. As for his motive, police are left without answers after hundreds of interviews and thousands of hours of investigative work. Despite an early claim from the Islamic State, the FBI ruled out the theory that Paddock was a "soldier" who had recently been radicalized. Though there are no links to international terrorism, MGM Resorts International wants federal courts to qualify the shooting as an act of terrorism and absolve the company of any liability to the survivors and families of the victims, reports the Associated Press. Lombardo was asked early on in the investigation about a motive for the attack, to which he answered: "I can't get into the mind of a psychopath at this point."

[CNN] Stephen Paddock
These are among the details -- some mundane, others chilling -- of Paddock's interactions with hotel staff and casino employees in new documents that police released about the October massacre at an outdoor Las Vegas concert. About 1,200 pages of witness interviews were made public, including statements from victims after the shooting and others who encountered Paddock before he opened fire from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

FBI Insiders Blow Whistle on Massive Las Vegas Cover Up; Agents Told Not to Investigate Key Evidence Including ISIS Terror Link to Mandalay Bay Massacre |
2018-03-12 |
![]() ![]() And now, after months of corporate-infused spin by MGM Resorts and outright lies from officials in the FBI and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, federal agents and intelligence officials are spilling the beans about what really happened on and before the Oct. 1 massacre. “It’s a movie script that was written after the shooting to rewrite what really happened,” one FBI agent said. “The investigation is an entirely different story that we are not allowed to talk about. If we do and get caught, we get fired and probably charged (criminally).” But why the cover up? The answer to that is perhaps even more complicated than the revelations surrounding the shooting, which can only be explained as shocking and troubling to everyday Americans not connected to the law enforcement community and political machine that has become today’s FBI. While few if any bright Americans believed the official back story of the supposed Stephen Paddock rampage, the truth — it turns out — is even more bizarre than fiction here. In fact, it’s downright frightening. The FBI maintains that Stephen Paddock — the reported lone gunman — was a mystery man and his motive for killing dozens and injuring over 500 people still has not been pinpointed. Those assertions are simply untrue, FBI officials confirm. Lies. In the coming weeks, True Pundit will detail various parts of its investigation into the shooting and more importantly, paint a detailed portrait of the events leading to the shooting and Paddock’s likely accomplices and associates. The major, shocking revelations include: |

POTUS Directs Justice Department To Take Steps To Ban Bump Stocks |
2018-02-21 |
[Huffpoo] President Donald Trump announced he has ordered Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take steps to ban bump stocks, the type of gun modification that enabled Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock to kill 58 people in October. "Just a few moments ago, I signed a memorandum directing the attorney general to propose regulations to ban all devices that turn legal weapons into machine guns," Trump said Tuesday while speaking at a medal of valor ceremony at the White House. "I expect that these critical regulations will be finalized ... very soon." Bump stocks are devices that allow a semiautomatic gun to fire as quickly as a machine gun. Paddock was found to be in possession of more than a dozen assault-style rifles, many outfitted with bump stocks and 100-round magazines. He was ultimately able to fire more than 1,100 rounds in a period of 10 minutes. In 2010, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ruled that it did not have the authority to regulate bump stocks because they are not technically "machine guns," which federal law defines as firearms that shoot more than one shot per pull of the trigger. Justice Department officials said in December that they do not believe they could regulate bump stock sales without congressional action, according to The New York Times. |

When Will We Have the Guts to Link Fatherlessness to School Shootings? |
2018-02-19 |
Dr. Warren Farrell, author of the new book The Boy Crisis, explains: Minimal or no father involvement, whether due to divorce, death, or imprisonment, is common to Adam Lanza, Elliott Rodgers, Dylan Roof and Stephen Paddock. As Terry Brennan, co-founder of Leading Women for Shared Parenting, notes: 72 percent of adolescent murderers grew up without fathers; the same for 60 percent of all rapists. Yet, despite the growing number of experts, pundits and commentators drawing attention to the impact of fatherlessness on school and community safety, the post-attack discussion inevitably reverts back to gun control. Instead of spending so much as fifteen minutes on fatherlessness we are forced to endure the same salacious headlines, the same provocative tweets, the same tired old memes about the evils of guns as if somehow a cold piece of metal convinced yet another boy to become a mass-murderer. We ignore the lack of adequate mental health services, the failure of law enforcement to effectively intercede, and the sickening impact fatherlessness has on each one of these tragic cases. Why? Because it is easier to ban a hunk of metal than it is to right systemic cultural wrongs. Comedian Michael Ian Black took a lot of flak for blaming the rise in school shootings on the idea that "boys are broken." Yet, he was correct in stating that, The last 50 years redefined womanhood: women were taught they can be anything. No commensurate movement for men who are still generally locked into the same rigid, outdated model of masculinity and it’s killing us. If you want to hurt a man, the first thing you do is attack his masculinity. What is the primary way to attack a boy’s masculinity? Strip him of his primary male role model: his father. Over the past 50 years, we have taught women to embrace single motherhood and to cut fathers out of their children’s lives through divorce. Now, thanks to the gun control echo-chamber, it will probably take another 50 years to right the wrongs we've done to our fathers and our boys. |

Las Vegas shooter's autopsy gives no clues
2018-02-11 | |
[ReviewJournal] Autopsy records obtained Friday by the Review-Journal shed no new light on what might have contributed to Stephen Paddock’s motives for committing the Oct. 1 Las Vegas Strip massacre. The autopsy, which included toxicology tests and a brain examination, found that Paddock had anti-anxiety medication in his system. It also confirmed what authorities had previously said — that Paddock died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head after he opened fire at an outdoor concert from his 32nd-floor Mandalay Bay suite, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more. Diazepam is a sedative-hypnotic drug in the class of benzodiazepines, which studies have shown can trigger aggressive behavior.
