AK-47-strapped, NYC gun nut from Tajikstan busted for supporting ISIS — after ex-wife rats him out for ''sham marriage'' to stripper

[NYPOST] A machine gun fanatic living in the country illegally was charged Wednesday with supporting ISIS — after his ex-wife ratted him out for getting a ''sham'' green-card marriage to a Bronx stripper, The Post has learned.

Mansuri Manuchekhri, a Tajikstan-born truck driver living in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, funneled $70,000 to ''ISIS-affiliated individuals'' between December 2021 and April 2023 — believing that the money was going to the families of slain ISIS fighters, the feds charged.

He also allegedly boasted to his terror-sympathizer buddies overseas about his firearms prowess.

''Thank God, I am ready, brother,'' Manuchekhri, 34, texted a Turkish contact alongside a 17-second video of him firing an assault rifle at a target at a New Jersey shooting range, according to a federal complaint.

''I go for training at least once or twice a week,'' he boasted to the same man alongside a similar video, court papers allege.

Federal agents uncovered a photo on Manuchekhri's iCloud of him proudly pointing two AK-47 rifles into the air, court papers show.

The alleged terror sympathizer entered the country from Tajikistan in June 2016 on a non-immigrant tourist visa and remained in the country after it expired that December, authorities said.

He then married a Bronx stripper in a ''sham marriage'' in March 2017, yet his efforts to obtain legal status in the country failed because he failed to provide supporting documents, according to the complaint.

One of the men that Manuchekhri schemed to funnel the cash to was arrested by Turkish authorities for a terrorism attack car bombing on the Jan.28, 2024 Roman Catholic Church in Istanbul, the feds said.

Manuchekhri also told his ex-wife that he admired Sayfullo Saipov, the Uzbek national who committed an infamous terror attack in New York City in 2017, the complaint alleges.

Manuchekhri faces up to 45 years in prison on charges of conspiring to provide material support to ISIS, possessing firearms while unlawfully in the United States, and immigration fraud.

As he was sentenced, he was told he had "destroyed so many lives" - but showed no remorse during the trial.

Saipov was confronted by victims' families and survivors in court, with the judge noting his "sheer unrepentant nature" during sentencing on Wednesday.

The Uzbekistan national, now 35, used a rented truck to attack cyclists and pedestrians at random on downtown Manhattan's West Side on the evening of Halloween 2017.

He shouted "God is great" in Arabic and was shot by police as he emerged from the vehicle. He hoped the atrocity would earn him membership of the group, a previous hearing was told.

Prominent imam stabbed in back as he led Sunday morning prayers in Paterson, NJ

[NYPOST] A prominent imam was stabbed in the back while leading prayers at a mosque in Paterson, New Jersey on Sunday morning.

The imam, Sayed Elnakib, was beginning his service at the Omar Mosque on Getty Avenue in South Paterson when an unknown assailant stabbed him twice at around 6 a.m., according to The Record.

The attacker was quickly restrained by other worshippers at the service. Elnakib was taken to nearby St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

About 200 people were at the service, which had just begun.

Police have not released the suspect’s name. It was not immediately clear what the motive was for the attack.

Authorities said the attacker was not a member of the mosque but had prayed there before, according to News12 New Jersey.

The mosque will increase security but remain open.

Paterson police officials said they expect the attacker to be charged later on Sunday.

The city’s mayor, Andre Sayegh, told The Record that he visited the imam in the hospital and appreciated “the immediate apprehension of his assailant.”

Councilman Al Abdelaziz, who represents the neighborhood in which the attack happened, told the newspaper that the community must “come together to support one another and denounce all forms of hate and violence.”

Sayed Elnakib was leading an early morning prayer service at the Omar Mosque in Paterson on Sunday when a man among the worshippers suddenly rushed forward and stabbed the beloved imam, surveillance video shows.

The assailant, 32-year-old Serif Zorba, turned and bolted for the door, but the worshippers -- without regard for their own safety -- quickly converged on the assailant and held him for police.

Elnakib, 65, sustained liver damage, a mosque spokesperson said, but he was expected to survive after being rushed into surgery at nearby St. Joseph's University Medical Center following the 5:30 a.m. April 9 attack.

US authorities arrest citizen for expressing support for ISIS

The US Department of Justice said, in a release, that Ridon Kola, 32, is charged with making threatening interstate communications, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

The department said, citing US Attorney Damian Williams as saying, "As alleged, Ridon Kola posted threats on social media against law enforcement, stating his support for ISIS and his intention to murder numerous coppers."

Kola will be presented in White Plains federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Paul E. Davison.

In December 2021, New York City Police Department (NYPD) detectives interviewed Kola, as he admitted to making the threatening posts but claimed he had no plans to harm YPD officers or the Mayor.

Beginning in early 2023, Kola has escalated his threats against the YPD and other government officials and has expressed his support for ISIS.

The case is being handled by the Office’s National Security and International Narcotics Unit.

ISIS sympathizer threatened to turn St. Patrick's Day parade into 'horror scene,' kill 'fat rat mayor'

An ISIS sympathizer allegedly threatened to "slaughter" cops and "kill the fat rat mayor" of a New York City suburb during a St. Patrick's Day Parade being attended by tens of thousands of people.

Ridon Kola, 32, was arrested Friday and hit with federal charges after months of menacing messages directed at the police and city officials in Yonkers, which is New York State's fourth-largest city, and social media posts "declaring war on America."

"First people to be crucified will be the Yonkers rats Vallahi. Allahu Ekberr," Kola allegedly wrote to the Yonkers police on Facebook on March 9, according to the federal indictment.

"I will crucify Yonkers cops and their bosses all along McLean ave. (sic) It will be a horror scene . . . Allahu Ekberr."

One of the largest St. Patrick's Day parade in New York runs along McLean Avenue, which stretches from a section of the Bronx through southern Yonkers.

The phrase "Allahu Ekberr" is a form of an Arabic phrase that means, "God is great," which radical Islamic faceless myrmidons have proclaimed in connection with the commission of terrorist attacks, according to court documents.

Three days earlier, on March 6, Kola allegedly sent a message to Yonkers police that said he's "looking for that officer that came to my house and threatened me and my family to kill us," court documents say.

"I'm going to burn the world until I find him Vallahi [by God], no matter what happens to me, there will never be peace in this country anymore! Allahu Ekberr," Kola allegedly said.

The mayor's office told Fox News Digital that they don't know what he was referring to in the March 6 message.

Kola's alleged threats to Yonkers police and officials go back to end of 2021.

On Nov. 19, 2021, he allegedly sent a message to Yonkers police in Albanian that translated to, "I am going to slaughter you little girls."

On Dec. 5, 2021, he allegedly sent another message that said, "Starting tomorrow, I will start killing your officers just so u [sic] know who is doing it, Ridon Kola Albanian blood and I'm going to kill your fat rat mayor."

The next day, Yonkers police went to Kola's home, and he allegedly admitted to sending the messages, according to court documents. Police searched his home but didn't find weapons.

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano thanked law enforcement for "thwarting this threat" in a statement to Fox News Digital and said he's looking forward to Saturday's parade that kicks off at 1 p.m.

"Threats like this will not intimidate us from celebrating the many contributions of our Irish American community," Spano said. "I look forward to proudly leading the parade tomorrow and ask all to meet me on McLean for the festive celebration."

Federal prosecutors connected Kola to ISIS using several social media posts that he allegedly made, including supportive messages about Sayfullo Saipov, who was convicted for his ISIS-inspired terrorist attack in New York City that killed eight people on a bike path on Halloween 2017.

Other posts referenced jihad, which means war against non-Moslems, and establishing a "caliphate," or an Islamic state, through violence, according to the court documents.

"As alleged, Ridon Kola posted threats on social media against law enforcement, stating his support for ISIS and his intention to murder numerous coppers," federal prosecutor Damian Williams said in a statement.

"Undeterred after questioning from law enforcement, Kola’s conduct escalated, as he continued to assure police his threats would be carried out."

[NYPOST] A federal prosecutor in Manhattan showed eight gruesome photos Tuesday at a sentencing hearing for West Side Highway terrorist Sayfullo Saipov

— one of each of his victims — as jurors weigh whether to execute the mass murderer.

In her closing argument, Assistant US Attorney Amanda Houle also described in excruciating detail the anguish that family members of the victims face to this day.

She highlighted previous testimony from slain New Yorker Nicholas Cleves’s mother, who had told jurors that grief was seared into her and "consumed me and never left me since."

"She’s just existing," Houle said of the mother, Monica Missio.

The prosecutor also described to jurors the moment New Jersey resident Darren Drake’s parents identified his body at the Medical Examiner’s Office the day after the Oct. 31, 2017, attack.

Drake’s father, Jimmy, "ran out of the building and onto the street because he could not bear to see what the defendant had done to his only child," Houle said.

The prosecutor noted the young children of slain Belgian tourist Ann-Laure Decadt, one of whom was just weeks old when his mother was mowed down and killed by Saipov.

Harrowing footage shows moment accused bike path terrorist is shot by NYPD cop

[NYPOST] New video shows the chaotic moment accused ISIS-inspired terrorist Sayfullo Saipov

was confronted and shot by an NYPD officer shortly after he drove a truck into a bike lane off the West Side Highway and fatally mowed down eight people.

The dramatic footage, entered into evidence by federal prosecutors at Saipov’s Manhattan trial, shows the suspect running across the West Side Highway holding what appears to be a pistol in each hand.

As he approaches Chambers Street, Saipov, wearing a blue tracksuit, can be seen pointing the weapons at a responding officer — who unleashes a fusillade of shots, one 7-second video shows.

After a series of bangs, the alleged terrorist drops to the ground.

In his opening statement last week, Assistant US Attorney Alexander Li described the frenzied scene, captured in various videos by onlookers in nearby buildings and from the street.

Li told jurors that Saipov burst out of his rented Home Depot truck after the murderous rampage on Oct. 31, 2017, and waved a paintball gun and a pellet gun around while proclaiming his allegiance to radical Islam.

"Even though his truck was now a smoking ruin in the middle of the intersection, the defendant still was not done," the prosecutor said.

"He had also brought two fake firearms, which looked real. He grabbed them, and he burst out of the truck screaming ’Allahu Akbar,’ a celebratory phrase that other ISIS members have also used when conducting terrorist attacks," Li added.

"A responding NYPD officer ran towards the defendant. The defendant aimed his apparent guns at the officer. The officer fired, hitting the defendant, who went down to the ground," he went on.

Other still photographs released by prosecutors show the horrific aftermath of the truck attack at the scene of the crime.

The photos show mangled bicycles that were ridden by Saipov’s victims, as well as the Home Depot truck that was nearly completely destroyed when he crashed into a school bus at the end of the attack.

A series of photographs of the bus show the yellow vehicle split open by the impact and mangled, twisted metal caused by the crash.

Li told jurors in his opening statement that a child who was riding in the school bus at the time suffered "serious brain damage" as a result of the crash. A woman who was in the vehicle also suffered an injury to her liver, broken ribs and a fractured spine.

The officer who shot Saipov, Detective Ryan Nash, testified last week that he fired nine shots at the suspect, hitting him once in the lower torso.

The suspected ISIS-loving terrorist was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he underwent surgery for the wound.

After he recovered from the procedure, Saipov gave an interview with an FBI agent, who testified he smiled about the attack and requested an ISIS flag to hang in his hospital room.

Saipov faces 28 counts for the terror attack and could face the death penalty

if convicted.

Sayfullo Saipov,

34, repeatedly proclaimed his support for ISIS after the attack, including to an FBI agent who is set to testify at his terrorism trial in Manhattan federal court, Assistant US Attorney Alexander Li told jurors in his opening statement.

"He smiled at the memory of his attack and asked for an ISIS flag to hang in his hospital room," Li said, adding Saipov was eager to speak with the FBI and provide a "proud confession."

The prosecutor described the horror that unfolded that Halloween afternoon when Saipov, an immigrant from Uzbekistan, indiscriminately mowed down pedestrians and cyclists after mounting the bike path from the West Side Highway in a rented truck.

Prosecutors allege Saipov started following ISIS three years prior to the attack, and carried it out in order to become a "soldier" in the failed caliphate.

Evidence at the trial, which is expected to take a number of months, will show Saipov publicly expressed his devotion to the terror group, Li told jurors.

He did so in the smiling statement he gave to an FBI investigator, in phone calls with his family from prison and even statements he made during court appearances after his arrest.

After running down his victims at speeds that reached above 60 miles per hour, Saipov crashed the truck into a school bus, which was carrying two children, Li said.

One of the children suffered "serious brain damage" and another passenger suffered broken ribs and an injury to her liver, Li added.

Saipov then emerged from the mangled truck and pointed a pellett gun and a paintball gun at a responding police officer, who shot him, ending the rampage.

Saipov’s defense attorney, David Patton, told jurors that they would not challenge the allegation that he carried out the attack.

"There will be no question about who did this. Safyfillo Saipov did," he told jurors.

Patton added, however, that the first phase of the trial will not hinge on his guilt to the murders, rather his motive for committing them.

Prosecutors told jurors that Saipov carried out the attack because he wanted to become a full-fledged member — or soldier — for ISIS.

"You will find that this is wrong. That is not why he did this," Patton told jurors.

The attorney continued that while Saipov had become engrossed in ISIS propaganda and wanted to carry out the attack as a mujahideen, or warrior for radical Islam, he did not expect to be received into ISIS after the action.

"He expected to die. He expected he would become a martyr," Patton said.

a new court filing detailing a trove of the government’s evidence against him alleges.

Saipov, who’s accused of killing eight people during his 2017 Halloween terror attack on the West Side Highway, allegedly threatened the officer on Dec. 17 last year for repeatedly slamming a door at night, making it hard for the ISIS follower to sleep, the filing states.

"During the course of this confrontation, the defendant threatened to kill the Officer. Indeed, as the defendant later admitted to the MCC’s disciplinary committee (the ’Committee’), he told the Officer that if the Officer dared to open the defendant’s cell, in two minutes ’other guys will be picking up your dead body,’" the filing states.

The next day, still angry from the prior incident, Saipov obstructed a security camera in his cell and said he wouldn’t remove it until "the Officer’s head was cut off" and then referred to the officer "as an animal," according to the filing.

"Again, the defendant unapologetically admitted this threat to the Committee, telling the Committee that he wanted to ’cut this animal head off,’" prosecutors allege.

The government’s motion, filed late Tuesday, describes all of the evidence it plans to introduce in Saipov’s April trial and all of the items it wants the court to exclude.

It plans to call on some of Saipov’s 11 living victims, some who were permanently disfigured following the attack, and will include the never-before-seen note that Saipov allegedly left at the scene.
