I fight because Jordan's rulers allow adultry and legalized usury!
2005-07-19
From Jihad Unspun
.... Court proceedings in the case known as “The Tawhid Brigades Case” began in a Jordanian court house last week. A group of Mujahideen, who are accused of threatening or attempting to blow up the central intelligence building in Jordan were brought to the court room to hear the charges against them and to enter a plea.

Ahmad Samir, the first defendant to be called, wasted no time to deliver a sermon in the court room. Here are some excerpts from his sermon:
Your system of government is a Kafir system as you do not rule by the Shariah of Allah. Our Sheikh Abu Musaab Al-Zarqawi said: If we have possession of chemical weapons, we would not hesitate to attack Tel Aviv. I say to you, in that case we will also hit you and your apostate system because you are traitors and that makes you and the Jews one of the same. I swear by Allah, 20 Kilos of explosives are not enough for you. I want to use hundreds of Kilos to wipe you out.
Finally he issued a direct threat to kill the prosecutor and the panel of judges:
You just wait for reaction from our brothers. Your blood is the tastiest and they cannot wait.
.... Another defendant, a Jordanian by the name Azmy Al-Jaiushy, informed the court that the former director of Jordanian Central Intelligence, Saad Khair and security officer, Ali Berjaq beat him up with an electric cable and the butt of a pistol [and] his children ages, 7,8, and 12 were detained and brought to prison. Having heard the first defendant, the panel of judges prevented Al-Jaiushy from reading his prepared statement, but he shouted in the court room:
I want to read my statement to tell you about the target I planned to attack.
Another defendant, Hussein Sharif, informed the court that he was beaten and tortured as was his brother Hosni. He said that his confession was obtained by force and torture.

The next defendant was Hassan Omar Al-Samik. He allowed his attorney to inform the court that he was beaten, tortured and forced to give an incorrect confession. As soon as his attorney concluded addressing the court, Hassan began to speak:
I left Jordan to prepare myself for Jihad in the cause of Allah. Upon completion of my training, I returned to Jordan to fulfill my duty to fight the apostate rulers and their collaborators that takes priority over fighting the Christian and Jewish infidels. For that reason, my goal became to wage war against you and your apostate government which spreads corruption and uses every thing at its disposal to fight the Mujahideen in order to please their American and Jewish masters.

I have chosen the central intelligence building as my target because it represents the ultimate infidelity in this country. I have seen with my own eyes brothers from Yemen, Chechnya, Algeria, and other Arab countries sent by America to its 51st State, Jordan that is, for interrogation and torture to obtain information needed for the security of the Americans. I want to fight you with every thing I have got. I swear by Allah, if all I have left is dust, I would fight you with dust.
The next defendant, Anas Samir, a Syrian Mujahid, who said:
I came to Jordan to fight the rulers because they have committed acts that took them out of the fold of Islam. For example, they govern by man made laws instead of Allah’s Shariah, they recruited and trained soldiers to protect them rather than fight the enemies of Allah, They allow adultery and fornication in private quarters, and they legalized usury.
The prosecutor asked him why did he want to fight in Jordan and not in his home country of Syria? Samir responded by saying:
There ought to be no borders between countries. Jihad in the cause of Allah is valid any where on earth. ... I am an arrow in the hand of Allah, He throws me at any target He wishes. I am prepared to fight Jordan and other than Jordan in the cause of Allah. You are the guardians of the Americans and the Jews. So an attack against you is an attack against them.
The court was adjourned until 7 September.

Jordan Reshuffles Intelligence Agency
2005-05-12
Jordan has reshuffled its intelligence community. Jordan's King Abdullah has ordered the creation of a national security agency. The new organization would help coordinate the kingdom's intelligence and security community. Abdullah replaced his intelligence chief, Saad Khair, who served in the post since 2000. Khair was replaced by Gen. Samih Asfura. The king then ordered Khair, appointed to field marshal, to create a national security agency. Under the reshuffle, Khair would retain his post as the king's security adviser.

Jordan Says It Thwarted Terrorist Threat
2004-04-14
The arrest of members of a suspected terrorist group in Jordan thwarted an attack that could have killed thousands of civilians, King Abdullah II of Jordan said Tuesday. The king said the country had "lived through an extremely delicate situation in recent days, but the hard work of dedicated security people divine protection has thwarted the plans of these criminals and saved the lives of thousands of civilians in what would have been a crime never before seen in the kingdom." His account came in a letter to the head of Jordan's intelligence services, Lt. Gen. Saad Khair. The Jordanian authorities have carried out a series of arrests of suspected terrorists in the past two weeks, and on Monday a government spokeswoman said a suspect was still being sought. But the king said Tuesday that all the members of the group had been arrested. He said his assessment of the magnitude of the threat was based on the "quantity of explosives found" in cars that had been seized, as well as the "manner in which the terror operation was to be carried out and the choice of civilian targets."
And perhaps based on from whence the attackers came. From the north.

Boys rescued from Kenya’s Islamic school of torture
2003-01-30
Eleven teenage boys have been rescued from an Islamic correction centre in Nairobi where they were chained, tortured, and indoctrinated with violent anti-Christian ideas. Armed police raided the school in a rundown Nairobi neighbourhood after Guleed Ahmed, a 16-year-old from Leicester, faked an illness to escape and raise the alarm. Inside they found 10 other boys, from Kenya, Sweden and Ethiopia, chained by their hands and feet and confined to a dark, foul-smelling room.

"It was really terrible," Guleed said yesterday. "They locked my hands and legs like this" – he clasped his ankles and wrists together – "all day, every day, even when I sleep. It lasted eight months."

Abdi Noor, a wiry 13-year-old from northern Kenya, nodded furiously. "Even when we go to the toilet, we go jumping," he said. "They would only unlock us at the door."

The school, the Khadija Islamic Institute of Discipline and Education, was in Eastleigh, a rough and dangerous neighbourhood dominated by ethnic Somalis. As police led the boys out last Monday, an angry crowd pelted them with stones, forcing officers to fire warning shots in the air.

But senior Muslims have expressed their abhorrence at the way the school was run, stressing it was an anomaly among thousands of well-run Islamic schools. The headteacher, named by students as Mowlid Abdi Ahmed, has been arrested and is expected to be charged with cruelty. Fourteen other staff are believed to have fled. Guleed, whose family lives in Britain but who holds a Dutch passport, is being looked after by the Dutch embassy. He had no documents with him and Dutch authorities are trying to trace his mother.

Relatives had sent the teenagers to Khadija Institute to learn about Islam. Schooling involved study of the Koran, with some lessons in English, Arabic and maths, always with their arms bound in chains. Sport was impossible. Meals were spartan and usually accompanied by a thrashing. "They cane you on the head, back, legs, bottom, everywhere," Guleed said. "How many times, it was impossible to know many. They called it 'the medicine'."

He had been attending Babington Community College in Leicester before his mother took him to Nairobi last summer, he said. But when she called every month, the teachers would stand over the phone. "They told me if you say something bad, we will beat you up. You tell her you love the school and you're learning to be a good Muslim." He finally escaped by faking a heart ailment and forcing teachers to take him to a medical centre, where doctors alerted police.

Hashim Ali, 16, who lived in Stockholm for 12 years before an uncle enrolled him in Khadija last June, said the killing of Christians was glorified in the school. "They told us it's called jihad," he said. "They said if you enter a church with bombs and kill yourself, you will go to heaven." Sometimes al-Qa'ida was mentioned during lectures, he added, but because they were in Arabic he did not understand the meaning. He once tried to write a letter to the Swedish embassy. Scars on his chin, forehead and back testified to the beating he suffered after being discovered. "There is nothing wrong with Islam; it's just these people," he said.

Kenya has a long tradition of Muslim tolerance and senior religious figures expressed their abhorrence at the reports. "This is just as shocking for us Muslims as anyone else," said Saad Khairallah of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims. "Children and women are respected in Islam." A council official was investigating the circumstances under which the school operated, he added.
Think we'll hear about this story in the US press? Me neither.
