Taliban reacts at the killing of a top Al-Qaeda leader in Afghanistan

group has reacted at the killing of a top al-Qaeda leader in a joint Afghan and US forces operation in Afghanistan.

The group’s front man Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement calling the killing of the bully boyz in ZZabul, Ghazni, and Paktia a propaganda.

Mujahid further added that no foreign or local bully boyz were killed during the operations in the three provinces as claimed by the security institutions.

This comes as the Afghan security authorities said Tuesday that a top leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network has been killed along with at least 80 other bully boyz during the operations of the Afghan and US forces. The Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security

(NDS), the bully boyz were killed during the operations conducted in Ghazni, Zabul, and Paktia provinces.

According to NDS, the senior al-Qaeda leader killed during the operation has been identified as Omar Khetab who was also famous was Omar Mansoor. Khetab is among the several top al-Qaeda network leaders who have been killed during the counter-terrorism operations so far.

3 Al-Qaeda network members killed in Paktika province of Afghanistan

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) front man Dawlat Waziri said the Arclight airstrike was carried out in the vicinity of Jani Khel district.

This comes as the US Department of Defense confirmed the death of a high level al-Qaeda network leader who was killed in Paktika province last month.

Pentagon: US drone strike in Afghanistan killed a senior Al-Qaeda militant

[DW] The US military has confirmed that a US dronezap in eastern Afghanistan on March 19 killed the senior al-Qaeda military commander Qari Yasin. He had been linked to numerous attacks in his native Pakistain.

Police claim arrest of five TTP terrorists

He said police recovered two Kalashnikovs, four magazines, three 30-bore pistols and 105 bullets from their possession.

Abdul Ghaffar alias Qari Saifullah, the commander of this group, was killed during a shootout with Multan police near Pul Ghazi Ghat in DG Khan on Aug 1, 2012. He was wanted by the Punjab police in several cases of bank robberies and terror attacks.

The third important member of this group was Imran Gandapur of DI Khan who was the in-charge of terror activities in KPK. He had killed constable Jahangir in KPK and later along with his accomplices was also rubbed out during an encounter with the police.

Following the killing of Gandapur, Iqbal Rashid alias Rashu had become operational in-charge of Qari Yasin group. To take Dire Revenge™ of the killing of Gandapur, Rashu had planned killing of security personnel of KPK. Rashu was the main accused who had criminal masterminded suicidal attack on the DI Khan DPO, killing of constables, terror attack on Shiite and the recent terror attacks which took place in Punjab.

The IG said Iqbal alias Rashu, Hameedullah, Niamatullah, Hammadullah, Jandullah, Habibur Rehman and Imtiaz were involved in gun attack on under-training KPK prison officials in Rasool Park, Ichhra, while Ramazan, Ameer Moavia and Imran had assisted the terror attack.

About security in Muharram, the IGP said more than 118,308 coppers would be deployed across the province to maintain peace and security around majalis, processions and imambargahs. He warned the elements found involved in fanning hatred and provocative speeches would be dealt with an iron hand.

He said religious activists and leaders found involved in spreading extremism would be arrested and would be imprisoned in far-flung areas.

Hafiz Saeed's house arrest extended by two months

The Lahore High Court (LHC) extended the house arrest of Hafiz Saeed, head of banned outfit Jamaat-Ud-Dawa and four others by 60 days on Monday. Hafiz Saeed was presented before the review board of the LHC along with his four aides under high security. The Punjab government pleaded the court to extend the house arrests of banned outfit leaders. However, Saeed's counsel Zafar Iqbal opposed the government's request. The judicial review board of the LHC, comprising three judges, extended the house arrest of Hafiz Saeed and three of his key aides, Haji Amir Hamza, Col (retd) Nazir Ahmed and Mufti Abdur Rehman by 60 days. However, they did not accede to the authorities'' request to prolong the house arrest of two other JuD leaders, Qazi Kashif Niaz and Qari Yasin Baloch, as well and ordered that they be freed.
