KSA not at war with Iran: Prince Saud |
2015-04-13 |
[ARABNEWS] Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... is not at war with Iran, said Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal during a joint presser with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. He also expressed hope that Tehran's nuclear deal with the US and other Western powers would reinforce regional peace. Prince Saud said King of the Arabians, Sheikh of the Burning Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman ...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Cutodian of the Two Holy Mosquesand Lord of Most of the Arabians.... had discussed a number of major regional and international issues with the visiting French minister, adding that Gay Paree has voiced its support for the Kingdom's efforts to restore legitimacy in Yemen. "Saudi Arabia is not at war with Iran and we hope Tehran would stop supporting the Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... militias in Yemen. The Iranian intervention has worsened the problem and increased violence in Yemen," the Saudi chief diplomat said, adding that Tehran never had any role in Yemen's development. |

Saudis: Yemen violence could threaten global security
2014-09-29 | ||
Saudi Arabia has said "unprecedented challenges" facing Yemen since Shia rebels took over the capital could threaten international security, and called for swift action to deal with instability in its southern neighbour. The world's largest oil exporter, which shares a long border with Yemen, welcomed an agreement signed in Sanaa on September 21 to form a new government incorporating the Houthi rebels and some Yemeni southern separatist forces. But the kingdom fears the accord could benefit its main regional foe Iran, which it sees as an ally of the Houthis, and might also bolster Al Qaeda group.
In some of his strongest language about Yemen to date, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal told the UN General Assembly that hopes for an end to the crisis had been wrecked by what he suggested was the Houthis' failure to honour the deal. “The lack of implementation of the security annexe of the agreement and the lack of implementation of the agreement itself in the required manner by the Houthi group has dashed these hopes,” he said in a speech circulated by the Saudi mission at the United Nations in New York. “Yemen faces accelerating and extremely dangerous conditions that require us all to look and propose the necessary solutions to confront these unprecedented challenges,” Prince Saud said. Prince Saud said Yemen's violence “will no doubt extend to threaten stability and security on the regional and international arena that could prove difficult to put down regardless of the resources and efforts that may be exerted.”

's position was and is still in support of the moderate Syrian opposition and the fight against terrorist groups on Syrian territory, but our battle with terrorism must begin with the elimination of the injustice that produced it in the first place," he asserted. Prince Saud's speech came at a time when US and Arab allies unleashed a round of US officials have confirmed that the latest round of strikes was designed to hit so-called "modular oil refineries" -- essentially small, IS-built refineries that the terror group uses to fuel its vehicles and to fund its operations. |

Yemeni chaos forces KSA to shut embassy |
2014-09-11 |
[ARABNEWS] The Kingdom has issued instructions to close down its embassy in Sanaa and evacuate diplomats, as well as all Saudi citizens, amid growing concerns over safety and security following a string of attacks on foreign targets and the ongoing civil war in Yemen. Osama Nugali, a front man at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, could neither confirm nor deny the reports of the closure of the mission. In a message texted to Arab News Tuesday, Nugali said: "Prince Saud Al-Faisal, foreign minister, will hold a presser on Thursday and you can ask him all the questions you want." But, a report published in the Al-Watan daily said the embassy would be closed "due to the volatile situation in Yemen." The terror attacks and the security information have given Riyadh enough concern to take this precautionary step, it added. "Hazaa Al-Mutairi, charge d'affaires at the Saudi Embassy, has already left Sanaa," it added. The report said that about 50 Saudi citizens, who were working in the mission, have also returned home. The embassy's closure follows growing tensions between the Yemeni government and Huthi protesters in Sanaa, who are demanding a new government and also the reinstatement of fuel subsidies. |

Prince Saud: Israel has no right to self-defense
2014-08-13 | |
[ARABNEWS] Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... has said that the actions of the Paleostinian resistance group, Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, cannot be equated with Israel's mass killings. Addressing a presser after chairing an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah on Tuesday, Prince Saud Al-Faisal slammed Israel for committing crimes against humanity. "You cannot equate the actions of Hamas and Israel, either in scale or in substance," he said in response to a question on whether Hamas had taken adequate steps to seek a peaceful resolution of the current conflict. "It is not fair, there is no way you can put the two together." "How can you say that Israel has a right to defend itself when it is the occupier and you do not give the same right to Hamas?" he said. "When Hamas fires rockets, it is considered a terrorist while Israel, which thinks it has the moral right to kill hundreds and thousands of Paleostinians in response to one soldier, is not? Where is the justice?" Prince Saud said Israel was an occupying force that had stolen the territory of the Paleostinians. "Israel wants to destroy and kill an entire population so that it can steal more land," he said. "Israel does not have the right to self defense as an occupier. There is no law, there is no international law, that says an occupier has a right to self defense." He said Israel must reach a peace agreement with the Paleostinians if it is to survive as a nation. "Israel has to realize that peace is the only solution for its survival," he said. "As we see, Israel does not shy away from taking its terror to any level in order to achieve its goals with total disregard for any laws, rules, religious edicts or humanitarian considerations."
