California college professor to stand trial in death of pro-Israel protester last year
2024-05-18
[IsraelTimes] Loay Abdelfattah AlnajiIf accused of striking Paul Kessler with megaphone; could face over 4 years in jail if found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and battery

A judge decided Wednesday that a Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, college professor will stand trial for involuntary manslaughter and battery in the death of a Jewish counter-protester during demonstrations over the Israel-Hamas

war last year.

Superior Court Judge Ryan Wright judge declared after a two-day preliminary hearing that there’s enough evidence to try Loay Abdelfattah Alnaji,
…previously in our archives as Loay Alnaji, he has been a faculty advisor for Moorpark College’s Muslim Student Association — a long-established youth arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America — and is an active member of the Islamic Society of Simi Valley. His YouTube channel, shut down after his arrest, while said to be an adjunct to his classroom teaching, was reportedly chock full of videos in Arabic. Make of that what you will, dear Reader…
according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Alnaji, 51, is accused of striking Paul Kessler with a megaphone in November during a confrontation at an event that started as a pro-Paleostinian demonstration in Thousand Oaks, a suburb northwest of Los Angeles.

Kessler, 69, fell backward and struck his head on the pavement. He died the next day at a hospital.

Alnaji was charged with two felonies: involuntary manslaughter and battery causing serious bodily injury, with special allegations of personally inflicting great bodily harm injury on each count, the DA’s office said.

If found guilty of all charges, he could be sentenced to more than four years in prison.

Alnaji posted $50,000 bail. An email and phone message for Alnaji’s lawyer, Ron Bamieh, weren’t immediately returned Wednesday.

Alnaji, a professor of computer science at Moorpark College, had espoused pro-Paleostinian views on his Facebook page and other social media accounts, many of which were taken down in the days after Kessler’s death, according to the Los Angeles Times.

US court demands jury testing in Tsarnaev case

[KavkazUzel] An appeals court in the United States has demanded that the objectivity of two jurors who participated in sentencing Chechen native Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
...the pretty, ethnic-Chechen college boy from Dagestan who, with his highly connected, “self-radicalized” older brother, used pressure cooker bombs to blow up the Boston Marathon in 2013. The mosque the brothers frequented, the Islamic Society of Boston, is a hotbed of jihadi sentiment and connections to so many different jihadi groups and individuals the mind boggles. It was founded by Clinton Friend and Al Qaeda financier Abdurahman Alamoudi as a Muslim Student Association/Muslim Brotherhood project in 1981. According to Russian intelligence, whose warning about our lads President Obama’s intelligence agencies ignored until afterward, the Tsarnaev boys had lots of jihadi-connected friends back in the Olde Countrie, too, but nobody seems to have found a formal connection between them and any registered jihadi group. to death in the Boston bombing case be examined.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in July 2020, an appeals court in the United States overturned the decision on the death penalty and decided to review the sentence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The court cited possible bias in the jury chosen in Boston, where the attack took place. On March 4, 2022, the US Supreme Court upheld Tsarnaev's death sentence. The execution of the sentence was postponed until the appeal was considered, the lawyer said in August 2022.

The US Court of Appeal has ordered an investigation into possible jury bias in the case of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. This could lead to a revision of the death sentence, Reuters reports today, the publication of which drew the attention of Kommersant.

The court in Boston did not grant Tsarnaev's appeal to overturn his conviction, but returned the case to the trial court, concluding that the defendant's complaints about jury bias were not properly investigated during the previous trial. Tsarnaev argued that two jurors lied when they said they did not discuss the case on social media before the trial began.
Notice the absence of the Hajji convert Katherine Russell, wife of the late Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Vanished, never to be seen or heard from again.
The appeals court hearing was held on March 21, at which the court ordered the judge who presided over the trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to find out whether two jurors were biased.
New trial? No, Biden pardon likely. Hajji vote urgently needed in upcoming presidential election.
The district judge said that if the trial judge concluded that either juror should be disqualified, Tsarnaev would be entitled to a new trial, the release said.
Whatever. But in the end he helped his dead brother do it.
Let us remind you that the brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan "Speedbump" Tsarnaev, according to American intelligence services, organized a terrorist attack during the Boston Marathon on July 15, 2013. As a result of the double explosion, three people were killed and 180 were injured, according to the Caucasian Knot report “ Terrorist attack in Boston: Caucasian trace.”

Tamerlan Tsarnaev  was killed during detention, and a court in Boston sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death on June 25, 2015, after which he was sent to a maximum security prison, according to the biography of  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev posted on the "Caucasian Knot".

A dozen CEOs back Bill Ackman's call to not hire Harvard students who blamed Israel for Hamas attack
2023-10-12
Consequences, Bitches. Do you feel them?
[NYPOST] At least a dozen business executives have endorsed Bill Ackman’s call to deny hiring members of student groups at Harvard who signed on to a letter blaming Israel for Hamas’ deadly attack on Saturday that killed more than 1,200 people, including at least 22 Americans.

Jonathan Newman, the CEO of salad chain Sweetgreen, was among a group of business honchos who seconded Ackman in urging that the signatories of the letter circulated by the a coalition of 34 Harvard student groups who "hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence."

"I would like to know so I know never to hire these people," Newman wrote in response to Ackman’s post on X on Tuesday.

"Same," David Duel, CEO of healthcare services firm EasyHealth, wrote in response to Newman.
We have the list, so others must, too.
The backlash and possible blacklisting has led to a flurry of backpedaling by four of the initial student organizations attached to the inflammatory statement — while board members of other groups have quit to distance themselves.

Late Tuesday, 17 other Harvard groups joined around 500 faculty and staff and 3,000 others in signing a counter-statement attacking the other groups’ letter as "completely wrong and deeply offensive," according to the campus paper, the Harvard Crimson.
Good.
At least a dozen business executives have endorsed Bill Ackman's call to deny hiring to members of some three dozen student groups at Harvard who signed on to a letter blaming Israel for Hamas' deadly attack.

A third letter from nearly 160 faculty members also ripped Harvard’s response to the scandal, writing that it "can be seen as nothing less than condoning the mass murder of civilians based only on their nationality."
Very good. Alinsky would approve.
Fears that some of the nation’s brightest young minds had doomed their futures led former Harvard President Larry Summers to caution against singling out students who were "naive and foolish" about what they were signing.
No. They were all legally adult, deliberate and intentional. They don’t get to pretend to be children when they get spanked for their choices.
"I yield to no one in my revulsion at the statement apparently made on behalf of 30 plus @Harvard student group," Summers posted Wednesday on X, the rebranded Twitter site. "But please everybody take a deep breath. Many in these groups never saw the statement before it went out. In some cases those approving did not understand exactly what they were approving."
This is not the first time these groups pontificated against Israel in these terms, and all the members have seen it before.
"This is not a time where it is constructive to vilify individuals and I am sorry that is happening," he added.

The former Treasury Secretary had taken school administrators to task for failing to explicitly condemn Hamas and denounce the student letter on Monday.

"Share the list, please. We’ll stay away," Ale Resnik, the CEO of Belong, a rental housing startup, replied on X.Belong

On Tuesday, Ackman, the hedge fund billionaire and founder of Pershing Square Capital Management, posted an item on his X social media account demanding that his alma mater release a list of names of those who belong to the student groups who co-signed the controversial statement.

"I have been asked by a number of CEOs if Harvard would release a list of the members of each of the Harvard organizations that have issued the letter assigning sole responsibility for Hamas’ heinous acts to Israel, so as to insure that none of us inadvertently hire any of their members," Ackman, who is married to Israeli-born MIT professor Neri Oxman, wrote on X.

"If, in fact, their members support the letter they have released, the names of the signatories should be made public so their views are publicly known."

"Share the list, please. We’ll stay away," Ale Resnik, the CEO of Belong, a rental housing startup, replied on X.

Martin Varsavsky, a tech investor and entrepreneur, told Insider that he thought Ackman was "right."

Michael McQuaid, the head of decentralized finance operations (DeFi) at blockchain firm Bloq, weighed in, writing: "I completely agree, and have been wondering the same the last couple of days if/when the names of these students would come out."

Michael Broukhim, CEO of FabFitFun, pledged to Ackman: "We are in as well."

Other executives who signaled their approval of Ackman’s post with an emoji of applause, a thumbs up, or a gesture of agreement include Stephen Ready, CEO of marketing firm Inspired; Hu Montague, founder and vice president of construction company Diligent; Art Levy, head of strategy at payments platform Brex; and Jake Wurzak, the CEO of hospitality group Dovehill Capital Management.

Groups that have since recanted include Amnesty International at Harvard, Harvard College Act on a Dream, the Harvard Undergraduate Nepali Student Association, the Harvard Islamic Society, and Harvard Undergraduate Ghungroo, according to the campus newspaper Harvard Crimson.

Danielle Mikaelian, a Harvard Law Student who sits on the board of a group that co-signed the letter, said she resigned due to the "egregious" nature of the statement.

"I am sorry for the pain this caused. My organization did not have a formal process and I didn’t even see the statement until we had signed on," Mikaelian wrote on her X account.

The pro-Hamas Harvard groups that signed the letter are

  • African American Resistance Organization;

  • Bengali Association of Students at Harvard College;

  • Harvard Act on a Dream;

  • Harvard Arab Medical and Dental Student Association;

  • Harvard Chan Muslim Student Association;

"We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence, the letter states, adding: "The apartheid regime is the only one to blame. Israeli violence has structured every aspect of Palestinian existence for 75 years."

The letter has since been updated to remove the list of groups who signed it "for student safety."

said in 2015. He gave every indication of being a pious believer, as was his brother, and of this piety being the foundational motivation for the Boston Marathon bombings. So why is there such a universal refusal to discuss the bombers’ motives? Because Islamic advocacy groups in the U.S., notably the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), have successfully convinced the Leftist political and media establishment that informing the public honestly about jihad activity would fuel a dangerous "Islamophobia."

There is no reason why this should be so any more than it is in any other context. Does the Biden regime refrain from speaking about their phantom bogeyman, "white supremacist terror," because innocent white people might be victimized? Of course not. And the same forthrightness should hold for actual threats just as much as for imaginary ones. Otherwise, no lessons will indeed have been learned from the Boston Marathon bombing.

Pro-Palestinian protesters allegedly attack man with Israeli flag in New York
2022-04-23
[IsraelTimes] Demonstrators reportedly approach man with flag during Manhattan rally, punch him in the face; police say they’re investigating case as a possible bias incident

Pro-Paleostinian protesters allegedly assaulted a man holding an Israeli flag during an anti-Israel demonstration in New York City on Wednesday. Police were investigating the case as a possible bias incident.

The 28-year-old victim said he was walking down the street when men from the protest pointed out an Israeli flag he was holding. One of the protesters approached the victim and punched him, knocking him to the ground, then kicked him while he was down. The alleged attack took place at the corner of East 42nd street and Lexington avenue in Manhattan at around 6:15 p.m., a little over an hour after the start of the protest.

The victim was treated for swelling, bruising and redness to the face.

The suspect is a man around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds, with short brown hair, police told The Times of Israel.

The New York Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit was notified.

The Wednesday protest began near the Israeli consulate in Manhattan. Activist groups including Within Our Lifetime, Samoudin and the Paleostinian Youth Movement organized the event. Around 100 demonstrators carried Paleostinian flags and chanted, "Globalize the intifada," "We don’t want no two states, we want all of it," "Israel, go to hell," and "From the river to the sea." They also stomped on and burned an Israeli flag.

For Israelis, intifada, literally meaning "uprising" in Arabic, conjures traumatic memories of a mass wave of terror attacks in the early 2000s. The period saw suicide kabooms and other terror attacks in Israel that killed hundreds of civilians. "From the river to the sea" is widely regarded as a call to destroy the Jewish state.

Members of the fringe anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Neturei Karta group were in attendance. The group regularly participates in anti-Israel rallies in the area.

A small group of pro-Israeli counter-protesters led by the Yad Yamin group gathered across from the Israeli consulate under police protection. They held signs with pictures of Israelis killed in recent terror attacks, waved Israeli flags and argued with pro-Paleostinian demonstrators.

Around a dozen police separated the two groups.

The pro-Paleostinian groups hold regular rallies in New York, including a demonstration at the end of last month, and another one planned for later this month. At last month’s protest, the demonstrators marched to the offices of Jewish and Israel-linked organizations to protest outside, and distributed maps with the locations of 18 Jewish and Israeli offices to protest participants.

In December, a 21-year-old man was attacked in Brooklyn for wearing an Israel Defense Forces sweatshirt.

Jews are targeted in hate crimes more than any other group in New York City, by far, year after year. Anti-Jewish attacks accounted for 38 percent of all confirmed hate crimes in New York City last year, according to NYPD statistics. Antisemitic hate crimes are soaring this year. Last month, there were 23 antisemitic attacks, representing a 92% increase over the same period last year.

Jews are the victims of 47% of all confirmed incidents in the city since the start of the year. The antisemitic incidents include assaults on city streets against visibly identifiable Jews, racist graffiti, property damage, and verbal abuse. Most attacks take place in Brooklyn.

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev appeals death sentence — again

[NYPOST] Convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
...the pretty, ethnic-Chechen college boy from Dagestan who, with his highly connected, “self-radicalized” older brother, used pressure cooker bombs to blow up the Boston Marathon in 2013. The mosque the brothers frequented, the Islamic Society of Boston, is a hotbed of jihadi sentiment and connections to so many different jihadi groups and individuals the mind boggles. is again trying to avoid execution after his death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
was reinstated by the Supreme Court last month.

Tsarnaev’s attorneys, in a filing on Thursday, asked the US Circuit Court of Appeals to consider four constitutional claims not taken up by the high court.

His lawyers claimed the trial court "improperly forced" Tsarnaev to stand trial in Boston; allowed his "coerced confession" to be admitted as evidence; denied his challenges to two jurors accused of lying during questioning; and dismissed a potential juror because they opposed the death penalty

The appeal was made in response to a Wednesday filing by the appeals court to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling that Tsarnaev’s execution sentence be reinstated.

"Because these four claims on direct appeal have not yet been adjudicated by any appellate court, Tsarnaev respectfully submits that the April 6 judgment was entered in error and should be vacated," the filing states.

Prosecutors agreed that the defense’s four claims have not been resolved, but said in their response "The government believes that the defendant’s death sentences should be affirmed."

[Townhall] In a 6-3 decision Friday, the Supreme Court

for Boston Marathon Bomber — and Biden stimulus check recipient — Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
...the pretty, ethnic-Chechen college boy from Dagestan who, with his highly connected, “self-radicalized” older brother, used pressure cooker bombs to blow up the Boston Marathon in 2013. He’s been living in Florence Supermax prison since he was sentenced in 2015...
following a previous federal appeals court decision that vacated his death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
Tsarnaev's actions in April 2013 — planning and executing the Boston Marathon bombing and subsequently murdering a MIT campus police officer, carjacking a graduate student, and fighting a street battle with police during which Dzhokhar ended up running over and killing his brother Tamerlan — resulted in a lengthy indictment, with more than one dozen capital offenses. A jury found Tsarnaev guilty on all counts and ultimately determined that six warranted the death penalty.

Following sentencing, a federal court of appeals vacated the death penalty based on claims that the district court where Tsarnaev was tried "abused its discretion during jury selection" and "abused its discretion during sentencing when it excluded evidence." But the Supreme Court, in its opinion authored by Justice Clarence Thomas, held that "The Court of Appeals improperly vacated Dzhokhar’s capital sentences." Justices Breyer, Kagan, and Sotomayor dissented.

As Justice Thomas writes for the Court:

On April 15, 2013, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev planted and detonated two homemade pressure-cooker bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The blasts hurled nails and metal debris into the assembled crowd, killing three while maiming and wounding hundreds. Three days later, the brothers murdered a campus police officer, carjacked a graduate student, and fired on police who had located them in the stolen vehicle. Dzhokhar attempted to flee in the vehicle but inadvertently killed Tamerlan by running him over. Dzhokhar was soon arrested and indicted.

A jury found Dzhokhar guilty of 30 federal crimes and recommended the death penalty for 6 of them. The District Court accordingly sentenced Dzhokhar to death. The Court of Appeals vacated the death sentence. We now reverse.

"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev committed heinous crimes," the opinion from Thomas concludes. "The Sixth Amendment nonetheless guaranteed him a fair trial before an impartial jury. He received one. The judgment of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit is reversed."

Law enforcement struggles to hunt down caller behind JCC threats
2017-03-02
[IsraelTimes] Investigators say person making threats is using masking technology, may be abroad and working.

US law enforcement officials reportedly believe bomb threats targeting Jewish institutions across the country are being made by a single person, possibly abroad, using "spoofing" technology.

On Monday, 29 Jewish institutes were evacuated after receiving phone calls threatening that explosives had been placed within the buildings, in the fifth wave of such threats since the beginning of the year.

Federal Sherlocks are coordinating with local police forces in an attempt to trace those behind the threats.

They believe that the callers used spoofing technology, which makes a call appear to come from another source, making it more difficult to trace, Buzzfeed reported Wednesday.

FBI officials relayed this initial conclusion to Paul Goldenberg, national director of the Secure Community Network, which advises Jewish organizations.

Goldenberg told Buzzfeed that those behind the threats "are leveraging technologies that have made the investigation more challenging."

On Monday, CBS cited a law enforcement official who said that the threats appeared to be coordinated. He also said that the calls were received from both within the US and from abroad.

On Tuesday, The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
quoted a federal law enforcement official who said that a single person using an internet calling service may be behind the threats. The newspaper said many analysts and researchers share that theory.

The calls are apparently made using voice-masking technology that protects the caller’s identity, as heard in a recording of a threat obtained by JTA.

According to The New York Times, in one case near Milwaukee, an operator asked the caller questions and received responses, indicating at least some of the calls are not recorded.

No actual bombs have been found at any of the dozens of institutions that have received bomb threats in recent weeks.

"The goal of these people is to wear us down," Goldenberg said. "But we are back in our schools, we are back in our JCCs."

Goldenberg said the Jewish institutions are "behaving in an exemplary manner" in the wake of the threats.

"Our Jewish schools and our JCCs continue to train for this, continue to execute well-placed measures," he said, going on to praise the staffs of US Jewish institutions as "vigilant."

In his long-awaited speech to both Houses of Congress on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
said the recurrent bomb threats to Jewish institutions and desecration of Jewish cemeteries were a reminder "of our nation’s path toward civil rights and the work that remains."

"Recent threats targeting Jewish community centers and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, as well as last week’s shooting in Kansas City, remind us that while we may be a nation divided on policies, we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all its forms," said Trump, who was noticeably more subdued and conciliatory than during his previous speeches and pressers.

[IsraelTimes] After cemeteries attacked and amid bomb threats, the Muslim Student Associations of Florida State and Florida A&M universities deliver bouquets to three Tallahassee synagogues, saying ‘it is important we stand together’.
A mixed message: "Please don't hurt us" and "No, of course it's not a bomb."
“Keeping up with the news lately has shown a plethora of very sad stories and hateful crimes against many minority groups,” FSU Muslim Student Association President Moneba Anees wrote in an email to the Tallahassee-Democrat newspaper. “Although we could not think of a way to help our Jewish friends and peers directly, we decided that we could show them that people are taking note of what is happening and that they have our support, love and prayers.”

Philadelphia unions to repair, secure vandalized Jewish cemetery
Useful gestures from solid citizens.
[IsraelTimes] Two labor groups say they will replace headstones and install lighting, as offers to help pour in.

Bobby Henon, a Philadelphia City Council member with union ties who represents the Wissinoming neighborhood, tweeted Monday evening that the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council offered to replace the toppled headstones and that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 98 offered to install additional lighting and security cameras.

Labor leader John Dougherty of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council told reporters that the vandalism is a “cowardly act of anti-Semitism that cannot be tolerated.” His workers also offered to re-sod and clean the cemetery grounds.

Meanwhile, a Gofundme campaign for the Philadelphia cemetery launched by a private citizen, Raphael Caroline, 31, in the hours after the vandalism was discovered has raised nearly $20,000 in 24 hours, double its original goal.

The Jewish Federation of Philadelphia announced that a volunteer cleanup of the cemetery will begin at noon Tuesday and run every day from noon to 4 p.m.

Muslim veterans offer to guard Jewish sites across US

[IsraelTimes] Amid uptick in anti-Semitic incidents including bomb threats, grave desecration, Muslim tweets signal readiness to help.
It looks self-organized and propagating
On Monday, a Muslim man who started an online fundraising campaign for a Florida mosque damaged in an arson attempt said that many of the donors to the campaign, which raised $60,000, were Jewish.

“I couldn’t understand why people were donating in what seemed like weird amounts to the cause. There are sums of 18, 36, 72.00 dollars etc. then I figured out after clicking on the names Avi, Cohen, Gold-stein, Rubin, Fisher…. Jews donate in multiples of 18 as a form of what is called ‘Chai’. It wishes the recipient a long life,” Adeel Karim, a member of the Islamic Society of New Tampa wrote Monday in a Facebook post. “The Jewish faith has shown up in force to support our New Tampa Islamic community. I’m floored.”

Terror Networks
Just a bit about Huma Abedin's Mooslim World League from Joe Klein
2016-08-23
[Front Page] The 28 classified pages of the “Congressional Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001” (“Report”) have been finally de-classified and released, with some redactions, to the public. The material in these pages points to evidence of connections between Saudi individuals and groups affiliated in some way with the Saudi government or its funded entities and terrorist organizations. Individuals named in the Report include Omar Al-Bayoumi, Osama Bassnan, Shakyh al-Thumiary, Saleh Hussayen and Osama Bin Laden’s half-brother Abdullah Bin Laden. The Report also mentions groups such as the World Arab Muslim Youth Association (WAMY), based in Saudi Arabia, which the FBI believes is ‘closely associated with funding and financing of international terrorist activities.”

The information in the Report details the activities of these Saudi individuals and related groups, including in the United States. There is a network of links to Saudi government entities, Saudi-funded front groups espousing radical Islam and jihad on the Wahhabist model, and terrorist organizations or individuals. A study of organizations in this network, with the Saudi government agencies or front groups at its hub, is very instructive in itself. But it reveals something else, highly relevant to this year’s presidential election. There are direct links of Islamic organizations in the network to those to which Hillary Clinton’s top aide and confidante Huma Abedin has belonged. To be clear, Huma Abedin is not named in the Report. However, her associations with groups linked to what is referenced in the Report is highly troubling, to say the least.

The Muslim Student Association was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood. It spreads radical Islamist propaganda. FrontPage Magazine has documented the MSA’s indoctrination activities on U.S. campuses in an essay entitled “The Muslim Students Association and the Jihad Network.” The MSA has had close ties with the Muslim World League (MWL), an organization with ties to jihadist terrorist groups, including Hamas and al Qaeda. MWL was founded by members of the Saudi government. The MSA also has close ties with WAMY, one of the organizations mentioned specifically in the Report and which is the youth wing of the Muslim World League. The Report referenced the FBI’s account of the connections of Osama bin Laden’s half-brother, Abdullah Bin Laden, to terrorist organizations. Mentioned specifically was the fact that he was “the President and Director of the World Arab Muslim Youth Association (WAMY) and the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Science in America.”

A cable released by WikiLeaks under then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s name stated that, according to intelligence, the Muslim World League and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth “continue to send money overseas and, at times, fund extremism overseas.”

Update: SDSU president meets with students to discuss his response to anti-Muslim flyers
2016-05-04
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) -- Monday -- SDSU President Elliot Hirshman sat down with students Monday to discuss the email response he sent following an incident where anti-Muslim fliers were posted all over campus.

The two-hour meeting came after a protest last week in which students surrounded the car of SDSU President Elliot Hirshman, criticizing what they believed was a tepid response to posters displayed on campus that identified by name seven students who allegedly allied themselves with Palestinian terrorists and promote hatred of Jews.

Following the meeting, SDSU issued a joint statement under the names of Hirshman, Vice President of Student Affairs Eric Rivera, student leader Mustafa Alemi, Osama Alkhawaja and Rachel Beck of Students for Justice in Palestine and other university officials.

The statement said the participants agreed on some issues and disagreed on others.

"We agree it is critical to protect all members of our university community from harassment as specified in our university Senate policies,'' the statement reads. "We agree we are committed to the safety of all members of our community. We also agree on the fundamental importance of freedom of expression.''

Creating the "appropriate balance between freedom of expression and protecting members of our community from harassment,'' as in the case of the fliers, poses a "significant'' challenge, the statement says.

The meeting attendees agreed that in cases of racism, islamophobia, misogyny, homophobia and other forms of bigotry, "we abhor the content of such expressions, even as we recognize the protected status of these expressions,'' according to the statement.

They also said they re-affirm their commitment to "supporting an environment that fosters meaningful dialogue and mutual respect.''

At the bottom of the fliers that contained the student names was a link to the Horowitz Freedom Center, the organization run by David Horowitz, who is scheduled to speak Thursday at SDSU on combating anti-Semitism on college campuses.

"The parties have agreed that in collaboration with (the Associated Students) and under the aegis of the university Senate, they will undertake a review of university policies to ensure we are balancing freedom of expression and protection from harassment,'' the statement says.

Wednesday -- Students at San Diego State University rallied Wednesday to protest President Elliot Hirshman for an email he sent to the SDSU community in response to the David Horowitz Freedom Project, who specifically called several students terrorists and terrorist sympathizers.

CAIR claims the David Horowitz Freedom Project placed flyers around campus, specifically mentioning the Muslim Student Association and Students for Justice in Palestine as being associated with terrorism and terrorists.

According to CAIR's Facebook page, in the email President Hirshman stated that students who are activists must accept that their actions have consequences and that people have a right to free speech.

'Islamophobia': U.S. cities face anti-Muslim backlash
2016-03-25
[USATODAY] Cities across the USA are preparing for the next phase that inevitably follows a terror attack: anti-Muslim backlash.
I've not yet seen the many predictions of an anti-Muslim backlash pan out. But Muslims and Progressives remain convinced of its inevitability.
Across social media, in public forums on college campuses, and even in mainstream political rhetoric from presidential candidates, anger over the deadly terror attacks in Brussels has spawned discontent and suspicion directed at Muslim groups. After the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
grabbed credit for the attacks, leaders in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and spoke out quickly to dissuade anti-Muslim sentiment.

The aftermath of an attack "is always a difficult time for Muslims in the United States," said Nabil Sheikh, a leader of the Muslim Students Association at Princeton University.

"On Princeton’s campus, students took to anonymous forums like Yik Yak to comment that there are Muslims at Princeton who are radical and would therefore condone yesterday’s attacks," Sheikh said. "These comments not only are appalling and inaccurate but also threaten the well-being of Muslim students."
The Muslim Student Association is the youth branch of the the Muslim Brotherhood in America, ie radicals. Q.E.D.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Inside the Mysterious Website Exposing Anti-Israel Bigots
2015-08-07
Found this via The Zelman Partizans, which I am a member of.
[ArutzSheva] When we find out who they [anti-Israel agitators] are — we just put out the facts. But when they find out who we are — they literally want to kill us. Because that is what they are like.”

On February 17, 2015, a number of America’s most vituperative anti-Israel activists woke up to discover that they had been named and spotlighted by a mysterious new website called Canary Mission.

The site boldly aggregates the public statements, videos, and photographs of leading members of the organized movement against Israel in their most telling and often most demonstrative moments.

The profiled individuals span a gamut of track records ranging from those with leadership roles with such intensely anti-Israel groups as Students for Justice in Palestine and the Muslim Student Association to unaffiliated campus agitators who regularly advocate for the destruction of Israel and even the murder of Jews. All its profiles are compiled from public Internet sources such as social media, You Tube, Twitter, press releases, news clips, and interviews.

In essence, Canary Mission took a card from the New Israel Fund, which some years ago helped finance the Coalition of Women for Peace that created the Who-Profits database that acted as a global compass of Israeli commercial activity for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions strategies. Canary Mission flipped the card and blacklisted the blacklisters.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
Because Canary Mission works beneath a complete shroud of secrecy, it has been called “shadowy.” It is commonly labelled as McCarthy-like in its actions within the pages of leading Jewish and mainstream media, as well as political websites, even though its modus operendi is obviously the opposite of McCarthyism. Even as sources as tenuous as Wikipedia define McCarthyism as “the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence,” as was done during the anti-Communist scare of the 1950s.

Canary Mission relies on vetted, publicly visible pictures, protest placards, open statements, and video clips that speak for themselves and are primarily drawn from previously well-publicized activities. In other words, Canary Mission aggregates publicly verifiable information into a single place. It is not clear why media outlets have not made the historical distinction or provided context.
