London synagogue sold to Muslim group tied to antisemitic figures | |
2023-02-04 | |
The Moslem conquest continues apace. [IsraelTimes] Founder of organization has called Jews ’Islam’s enemies’ and it hosted an antisemitic speaker; group has apologized for flyer saying the building previously housed ’non believers’“We’re sorry you noticed. Really, we don’t hate you at all — we just talk about all unbelievers this way.” A Moslem group buying a historic London synagogue has apologized after a leaflet seeking donations called the location "a former place of worship for non-believers."The Pakistain-based charity Dawat-e-Islami
But the sale of the Wembley Synagogue building has invited further scrutiny, with The Jewish Chronicle reporting that the organization has problematic ties to antisemitic figures. A founder of the group, Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri, has called Jews "Islam’s enemies," favors boycotting Jewish products and has called not to "imitate the Jews" by shaving. In 2021, it hosted Shaykh Asrar Rashid, a UK preacher who last year said Adolf Hitler ...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like... "did a favor for the Jews" by boosting European sympathies, which enabled them to establish the Jewish state. He added that the Jews at the time "of course held all the politicians in their pockets." A former rabbi for United Synagogue, which had owned the Wembley shul since the 1930s and recently sold it to Dawat-e-Islami, told JC it was "the height of insult for the synagogue to be sold to a group which openly describes Jews as ’non-believers.'" "This goes against the principle of having respect for members of other faiths... all avenues should be explored to stop this sale," Martin van den Bergh said. The Campaign Against Antisemitism said it would be seeking an investigation into "the disturbing allegations that [the organization’s] Midlands branch hosted a preacher accused of claiming Hitler did Jews ’a favor’and that its founder called on Moslems to boycott Jewish goods." United Synagogue, meanwhile, has insisted it carried out "robust due diligence processes" before deciding on the sale, and noted the group’s apology over the flyer. "All the professional advice we received, as well as our own checks, indicated that this is a reputable and relatively large UK charity," it said. Varanasi blasts: Terrorist Waliullah Khan sentenced to death |
2022-06-08 |
[OneIndia] A local court on Monday sentenced terror convict Waliullah Khan to death for serial blasts in Varanasi that killed at least 20 people 16 years back. District Sessions Judge Jitendra Kumar Sinha convicted Khan on Saturday but had held back the pronouncement on the quantum of punishment for the blasts in 2006 at Varanasi's Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple and a railway station. On Monday, Khan was brought to the district court from Dasna Jail under tight security, overseen by a deputy superintendent of police. The court also sentenced Khan to life imprisonment on an attempt to murder charge and ordered him to pay fines. The death sentence ![]() will have to be confirmed by the Allahabad High Court. A special task force had claimed in 2006 that Khan was linked to Bangladesh-based terror outfit Harkat-ul-Jehad al-Islami ...(HuJI), along with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) one of the Deobandi jihad groups set up by Pakistan’s ISI to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan, after which the Bangladeshi branch sent Al Qaeda big turban Muhammad Ilyas Kashmiri to lead its Jammu & Kashmir effort. After he met an inquisitive American Predator, some Taliban big turban took over the assignment. HuJI not only lends personnel to LeT and JeM, but provided ministers to the first Taliban government as well... and was the criminal mastermind behind the blasts. The first blast took place at 6.15 pm on March 7, 2006 inside the crowded Sankat Mochan temple in the Lanka cop shoppe area. After 15 minutes, a bomb went kaboom!outside the first-class retiring room at Varanasi Cantonment railway station. At least 20 people were killed and about 100 injured in the two explosions. The same day, a pressure cooker bomb was also found near the railings of a railway crossing in Dashashwamedh cop shoppe area. Khan was convicted in two cases lodged under the Indian Penal Code sections of murder and attempt to murder, and under the Explosives Act, district government counsel Rajesh Sharma earlier told PTI. He was acquitted in a third case due to lack of evidence, he said. Lawyers in Varanasi had refused to plead the case and the Allahabad High Court transferred it to the Ghaziabad district court. In all three cases, 121 witnesses were produced before the court. |

Soldier martyred, woman dead in unprovoked firing by Indian troops across LoC |
2019-09-15 |
[DAWN] A Pakistain Army soldier was martyred after Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked firing" in the Hajipir sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir![]() Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... , Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday. The official was identified by the military's media wing as 33-year-old Havaldar Nasir Hussain, a resident of Narowal, who had been in service for 16 years. A second ISPR statement issued later in the day said Indian troops had also resorted to unprovoked firing in Nakyal and Jandrot sectors, targeting the civilian population. As a result of the firing, a woman identified as Fatima Bibi, a 40-year-old resident of village Balakot, died, while six others including four women sustained injuries. The injured were evacuated to a nearby medical facility for medical treatment, the blurb added. Pictures shared by the villagers on social media showed smoke rising from the mountains where mortar shells from across the LoC had landed. Several houses were also damaged. Shariq Talat, a disaster management officer in Kotli, told Dawn that besides Fatima Bibi, seven others were maimed in "indiscriminate" Indian shelling. They were identified as Nazia Bibi, 36; Shah Begum, 70; Gul Yasmin, 50, and her 21-year-old daughter Shumaila; Muhammad Lal in Daryari Paalani village; Muhammad Ilyas, 28, a resident of Androth Palani village; and Muhammad Sabir, 48, in Dharoti Mohra. He said that two buffalos and a goat owned by Muhammad Lal were also killed in the shelling. According to civilian and military sources, at least 38 civilians have been killed and 187 maimed in ceasefire violations by the Indian army in different areas of AJK along the LoC in 2019. Apart from them, as many as 18 soldiers have also bit the dust. ATC hands life sentence to man in Kasur child abuse case |
2018-03-16 |
[DAWN] An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment after finding him guilty in the Kasur child abuse scandal. ATC judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas announced the verdict against Haseem Amir in one of the 29 cases police had registered since the child abuse ring was uncovered in 2015. Other suspects, including Aleem Asif, Naseem Shahzad and Maqsood Sindhi, were acquitted by the court over lack of evidence. Amir was punished in FIR number 248/15 registered by Ganda Singhwala police. He has already been sentenced to life in prison in at least two other cases after the prosecution accused Amir and others of sexually assaulting young boys and filming the act to blackmail their families. In Hussain Khanwala village in Kasur, videos were made of at least 280 children being sexually abused by a gang who later blackmailed their parents by threatening to leak the videos and received money from them. The police, who had conspicuously failed to act despite pleas from some parents, eventually made dozens of arrests after festivities between relatives and authorities brought the issue into the media spotlight. In March 2016, the Senate also passed a bill that criminalised sexual assault against minors, child pornography and trafficking for the first time ‐ previously only the acts of rape and sodomy were punishable by law. Police had registered a total of 34 cases regarding the Kasur child abuse scandal. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... a joint investigation team had dismissed five cases as fake. Last month, the ATC had awarded life sentence to three people, including Amir, that were nominated in one of the cases regarding the scandal. The three convicts were also slapped with a fine of Rs500,000 each. Kasur has been in the limelight for recurring cases of child abuse in the area. Earlier in February, an ATC had awarded death sentence to the rapist and murderer of six-year-old Zainab in a high profile case that had sparked anger across the country with #JusticeForZainab becoming a rallying cry for an end to violence against children. |

Mother sentenced to death for 'honour killing' of daughter Zeenat Bibi |
2017-01-17 |
[DAWN] An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Monday sentenced a mother to death in a case of 'honour killing' for burning her daughter alive in June 2016 after she contracted a 'free-will marriage'. 18-year-old Zeenat Rafiq of Lahore's Factory Area was set on fire by her mother Parveen Bibi more than a week after the girl reportedly eloped with Hasan Khan to marry him before a court in Lahore. Parveen Bibi had earlier confessed she had murdered her daughter for "bringing shame to the family". Police had suspected that Parveen was helped by her son and son-in-law in killing the girl. ATC-IV judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas on Monday sentenced Parveen to death in the 'honour killing' case, and sentenced Zeenat's brother Anees to life in prison. Zeenat's sister's husband was acquitted in the case. It was revealed in court that Zeenat's mother and brothers had first beaten her, then her mother threw kerosene on her and set her on fire. Parveen in court today claimed the credit for Zeenat's death. Zeenat's husband, Hasan Khan last June had agreed to let his wife return to her home after her family promised, in the days before her murder, to organise a traditional wedding reception for the couple. He earlier told the media that Zeenat was not willing to go back to her parents’ home because she feared they would kill her. "But she agreed after her family gave assurances regarding her safety," he was quoted by a TV channel as saying. Witnesses had told Dawn that they had alerted the emergency rescue service after they saw smoke coming out of Parveen’s home. "Police and rescue firefighters reached the spot, put out the blaze and recovered the body of the girl," a witness had said earlier. After Zeenat Bibi was set on fire in a low-income neighbourhood of Lahore, none of her relatives sought to claim her body, police said, leaving her husband's family to bury her charred remains in the dark in a graveyard near the city.Mother sentenced to death for 'honour killing' of daughter Zeenat Bibi |

'Children shouldn't be married until they attain mental maturity' |
2015-04-04 |
[DAWN] A bigwig with the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has said that although CII recommends 16 as the appropriate age for marriage, children should not be married until they attain mental maturity. "It is also not necessary for a child to be married as soon as they attain puberty," he said. CII Director General Muhammad Ilyas Khan was talking to health news hounds on Thursday. While the media interaction had been organised to discuss family planning, the discussion drifted to a number of other issues. Mr Khan said that while marrying off minors was prohibited by Islam, Nikkah was not. "In case Nikkah is solemnised between minors, upon attaining puberty, both the bride and groom have the right to annulment, unless the Nikkah was solemnised by the father or the grandfather," he explained. The director general is a government servant, unlike the chairman and other members of the CII, who are politicians and religious scholars. Two months ago, while addressing a conference at a local hotel, Mr Khan talked about birth spacing and surprised many audience members with more tolerant views than other members of the CII. "However, alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk... even a Nikkah solemnised by a father can be annulled if there is a vested interest behind the decision, such as a peace agreement between two families," he said. The CII director general also said women should refuse sexual intercourse with their husbands if they suspect them to be carrying HIV. He said it is unfortunate that a number of women become infected with HIV because their husbands were carrying the infection. "Often men who return from the Middle East contract HIV and the wives of men returning from abroad should refuse sexual intercourse, until the husband gets tested for HIV," he said. He said that Islam does not force women to obey their husbands in such situations, because protection of life and faith are the basic tenets of the religion. Turning the discussion towards family planning, Mr Khan criticised the commonly held belief that God is the provider so people should have as many child as they want. "Although God provides for His creation, we must prioritise the health of our spouse," he said. |

JIT reconstituted for fresh probe into lynching of Christian couple, SC told |
2015-03-23 |
[DAWN] Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard 2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers 3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... police have told the Supreme Court that they have reconstituted a joint investigation team (JIT) to carry out a fresh probe into lynching of a Christian couple by a mob in Kot Radha Kishan on Nov 4 last year. DIG (inspections and vigilance) Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalika now headed the JIT which was earlier led by the SP (investigations) for Kasur, said a report submitted to the court on behalf of Punjab IG Mushtaq Sukhaira. The JIT was reconstituted in view of the observations of the court at the last hearing of the case on March 9, when it expressed shock over the lax attitude of police and indicated that it might order a judicial inquiry to probe into police failure to prevent the couple from being burned to death in a kiln over blasphemy allegations. The court took up the case after taking suo motu ...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard... notice of the tragic incident. The police report said the new head of the JIT had been asked to ensure good quality investigations into the incident. It said that 25 suspects had been incarcerated Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out! in addition to the earlier 76, bringing the total number of those arrested in the case to 101. Key witnesses' statements under Section 164 of CrPC were recorded before Kasur Magistrate Syed Muhammad Ilyas on March 19. The loudspeakers used for inciting the people to attack the couple had been seized and made part of the case record. According to the report, the JIT is minutely examining the role of ASI Abdul Rasheed in the tragedy. A fact-finding committee headed by the AIG of investigation branch has concluded that the ASI knew that a crisis was brewing a day before the ugly incident happened. But he kept quiet and did not bother to inform his seniors -- including the DPO, the SDPO and the SHO concerned -- who could have taken action to prevent the situation from taking an ugly turn. The ASI's silence precluded any preventive and security measures by police, the report said. Similarly, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ali, who was in charge of the factory area check-post of Kot Radha Kishan cop shoppe, and Constables Mohammad Saleem, Ahmed Din and Hakim Ali have been held responsible for not acting in a manner befitting a police officer. All of them were armed and could have at least had gun sex to ward off the mob. The report said that their inaction was not condonable. As a consequence, ASI Rasheed was suspended and the remaining coppers were sent to the police lines, it added. |
