[LIBYAREVIEW] On Wednesday, the Libyan Parliament issued a decision to form a committee tasked with working on preparing a proposal for a post- 24 December roadmap. Goodness — all that?? The 10-member committee was formed after it was deemed "impossible" to hold the elections as scheduled. The Parliamentary Committee is chaired by Nasr El-Din Mhenni Ghobashi Moftah, with members including: 1) Abdel-Salam Abdullah Mohammed Nassiyah 2) Misbah Doma, Mohammed Uhaida 3) Mohammed Saad Hammad Saleh 4) Issa Mohammed al-Senussi al-Oraibi 5) Muftah Issa al-Karteji 6) Mohammed Ibrahim Ismail Tamer 7) Khaled Ali Mohammed al-Usta 8) Suleiman Mohammed Mohammed al-Faqih 9) al-Mabrouk Abdullah Mansour al-Kabeer. The Parliament in its resolution No. (13) of 2021, to submit and present its report to the Parliament during its next session. Notably, the committee formed by the Libyan Parliament to follow up the electoral process, concluded that it is "impossible" to hold the Presidential elections on their scheduled date of 24 December. The Head of the committee, al-Hadi al-Saghir wrote a letter to Parliament Speaker, Ageela Saleh stressing that the committee reached this conclusion "after reviewing the technical, security and judicial reports." He asked Saleh to return to his previous position and preside over the upcoming Parliamentary sessions. The committee called for the development of a new road map, "in line with the data resulting from the obstruction of the elections." It also stressed the end of the Government of National Unity’s (GNU) mandate as a caretaker government. Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC) proposed postponing the first round of the national elections to 24 January, a month from their scheduled date. The commission said in a press statement that it is proposing this in coordination with the Libyan Parliament. "The Libyan Parliament shall take measures to remove the ’Force Majeure that confronts the completion of the electoral process," HNEC added. It also defended its decisions, claiming h that they were "correct" by excluding a number of candidates who did not meet the conditions. [NYPOST] Chilling photographs captured the moment two pedophiles were executed in front of a large crowd in Yemen’s port city of Aden for raping and murdering a 12-year-old boy. Wadah Refat, 28, and Mohammed Khaled, 31, were convicted by a court of abducting Mohammed Saad, dragging him into one of their homes and sexually assaulting him in May 2018, the UK’s Daily Star reported. "After the rape, they could not silence the cries of the child who begged for help, one of them grabbed a knife and cracked his neck," the sentencing judge said. A 33-year-old female relative of one of the accomplices also was sentenced to death for helping to dismember the child’s body, but her public execution was postponed because she is pregnant, according to The Mirror. After being marched at gunpoint to the execution site, the two brutes were offered some water by a doctor before they were ordered to lie face-down on a blanket. Two men then stood over them, pointed AK-47s at their backs and opened fire as a large throng cheered in the background. Sarah Leah Whitson, director of Human Rights Watch, condemned the executions. "Public execution is an even more grotesque violation of human rights When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much... , particularly in a country where the ability of the accused to obtain adequate legal representation and the coverage of the process is highly limited," she told El Mundo.

Yemen’s army kills eight Houthi field commanders on West coast front

They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... militia field commanders on the Western coastal front, with the armed forces engaging the militia. Military sources said the eight leaders were prominent military commanders of the pro-Iranian militias who were killed in the West Coast of Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... during intense fighting, adding that the Houthi militias acknowledged their recent killing though at the beginning it kept silent about their fate. The militia leaders killed were military, security, and field commanders, as well as tribal sheikhs loyal to the coup group and a large number of their escorts. The Yemeni official statement pointed out that in a raid by coalition fighters south of Hodeidah, one of the most important leaders of the Houthi militia, Hisham Abdel-Samad al-Khalid, the first official for the strength of the cordon of the city of Hodeidah, was killed. He was the leader of the largest gangs of the coup, and one of the most prominent Houthi leaders in the military police. Among others killed were one of the most prominent leaders of the Houthi leadership, Muhammad Ali Mahdi al-Hassani, the official of the mobilization in the town of Khamis Bani Saad in the province of al-Mahweet, and the prominent field supervisor, Salah Ali Salah Faie, who is descended from Dahyan in Saada, the origin of the Houthi militia. Also killed was the security leader, called "AbuFadl", or Issam Mohammed Saad Mahdi, who was one of the companions of the so-called former political council head Saleh al-Samad, who himself was killed earlier this year in an Arclight airstrike. The military sources said that the field commander Mohammed al-Abbasi, leader Mohammed al-Suhaili, Abdul Majid al-Hamzi, Ali al-Hazaari, and the "Abu Zaid al-Hammadi" and the "Aburqia" Ali Abdulrahman Saad al-Din were killed in specific operations by the Yemeni forces engaging in direct confrontations, along with targeted artillery fire and aerial bombardment by coalition forces. The dead Houthi field commanders found are: Mohammed Hassan Oufan, Saleh Mohammed Saad al-Rubai, Salahuddin Muhammad Nasser Ceylan. The official news site of the Yemeni army stated that the Houthi militia suffered large losses in periodic festivities renewed from time to time since last Friday at Ktaf Al Baq’e. Yemen’s army captured as well 34 members of the Houthi militia during a week of confrontations in their stronghold in Saada. According to statistics, the Yemeni army destroyed at the same time more than 10 military vehicles, five units of armed machinery, a medium arms truck, and recovered an arsenal of weapons. The Yemeni army has made significant progress in recent days in battles with the Houthis in their stronghold in Saada. The army gained full control over a number of mountains, highlands and strategic hills, established full control of Ktaf Al Baq’e and secured the link between the provinces of Jouf and Saada, which connects Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. The Special Deterrent Force says in a Facebook post Thursday that it detained the city of Sabratha’s ISIS leader named Mohammed Saad al-Tajouri and killed dozens of ISIS members in a gunbattle. Al-Tajouri was also known as Abu Sulieman. SDF says he was sent by ISIS leaders in Sirte - a central city controlled by the group - to take charge of Sabratha. The militia says it will release videos of the arrest and al-Tajouri’s purported confessions. ISIS tried to take over Sabratha on Wednesday by storming the security headquarters and beheading at least 12 of the SDF fighters inside.

Soddys to send anti-terror force to Yemen

Saudi Arabia, which is leading an Arab coalition fighting to end an Iranian-backed coup in Yemen, is planning to send a force to combat terror in Aden, Yemen’s provisional capital, a Saudi newspaper has reported. The move had been planned a few weeks ago and is not a response to the assassination of Aden’s governor Jaafar Mohammed Saad, 'Makka' daily said. “The force will be deployed in Aden in the next few days. “It is intended to fight terror and bolster Arab and Yemen forces there,” the paper said. It quoted Saudi sources as saying Riyadh decided to send the force as part of its “leading role” in the Arab coalition to maintain security and peace in liberated areas. Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other Arab members of the coalition already have troops in Aden, the temporary home of the legitimate government. Saudi Arabia is the dominant member in the Arab coalition launching a military campaign to quell the coup and restore the legitimate regime. The other members are the Gulf states of the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain as well as Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Sudan.

Islamic State, in a statement posted on a messaging service, said it detonated a car laden with explosives as Saad's convoy passed by. The group promised more operations against "the heads of apostasy in Yemen". The group also posted what it said were photos of the booby-trapped vehicle as a white van carrying Saad drove past, then two other photos of a huge ball of fire which it said were taken as the bomb went kaboom!. Leb Army Arrests Man for Selling Bomb-Making Chemicals

The officials, who were not identified, told al-Mustaqbal ... the Future Movement, political party led by Saad Hariri... newspaper published on Wednesday that a military intelligence unit arrested Mohammed Saadeddine J. in the southern city of Sidon several days ago. The suspect is the owner of a shop that sells cleaning material and substances, they said. The sources said the man was referred to the military prosecution after several detainees admitted to buying from him some chemicals used in bomb-making. Investigators are trying to find out whether Mohammed was aware that the substances he was selling were being used for terrorist activities, the officials added.

Defected Soldier Hands Himself over to Army Intelligence

Front reportedly handed himself over to the Army Intelligence. The state-run National News Agency reported that Omar Khaled Shamtiyeh turned himself over to the Army Intelligence in North Leb. The reasons remain vague. Shamtiyeh was a member of the 2nd Artillery Regiment and used to serve at the al-Madfoun checkpoint on the coastal highway in the North. He accused the military in his defection video of becoming a "subordinate to Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Report: Defections Will Not Impact Army's Determination to Remain Country's Backbone

Military sources told the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat that "the Lebanese army similar to any other army witnesses some defections but the focus on the recent cases was compelled by the fact that the runaway soldiers defected and joined the ranks of terrorist organizations." "The fleeing of such soldiers doesn't impact the military negatively but rather cleans the institution from such models." The sources ruled out reports saying that those who defected were kidnapped, confirming that they are runaways and have search warrants against them. Any soldier who fails to show up at service would be considered a runaway after 42 hours and an arrest warrant would be issued against him. Lebanese Army Corporal Defects in a Video, Joins al-Nusra Front Ranks

"I am a soldier and I know the assault against the Sunni sect," Corporal Atef Mohammed Saadeddine said in a Youtube video published on Jul 23, 2014. The soldiers states the reasons behind his decision to desert the army and join al-Nusra Front in the video. He lashed out at the resistance, considering it to be assaulting the Sunni youth. Saadeddine revealed that Hizbullah members carry arms at checkpoints and "no one objects." "Terrorists are not those who are defending their sect," he said.
