Gaza: IDF opens new corridor dividing Khan Younis |
2025-07-17 |
[IsraelTimes] The IDF continued to maneuver in southern Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... , bolstering its presence in the area with a new strategic route and overnight ... KABOOM!... s that hit over 120 targets in the enclave. The IDF said Wednesday it had opened a new strategic corridor in southern Gaza that would assist in defeating Hamas ![]() in the Khan Younis area. The route, dubbed Magen Oz, was established in recent weeks by the 36th Division amid efforts to clear Khan Younis of terror infrastructure and operatives. It bisects Khan Younis from east to west, the military announced The IDF said the division’s 188th Armored Brigade and Golani Infantry Brigade met up recently, after completing the new corridor. An illustration published by the IDF showed that the route connects to the Morag corridor, which separates Khan Younis from Rafah. The IDF said the Magen Oz corridor is 15 kilometers long, and plays "a major part in exerting pressure on Hamas and defeating the Khan Younis Brigade." During the division’s operations in Khan Younis, the IDF said troops killed dozens of operatives and destroyed Hamas infrastructure, including tunnels and caches of weapons. The Magen Oz corridor in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, in a video published by the IDF on July 16, 2025. (Israel Defense Forces) Meanwhile, ...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had thought to pack sun block... the Israeli Air Force struck over 120 targets in Gaza over the past day, the military said, as five divisions continue ground operations across the Strip. The IDF said the targets included cells of operatives, buildings used by terror groups, caches of weapons, tunnels, and other infrastructure. Dozens of casualties were reported by media outlets in Gaza in the past day, but there were no immediate tolls from the Hamas-run health ministry or other health officials. In northern Gaza’s Jabalia, the military said troops of the 401st Armored Brigade came under RPG fire, and within minutes, directed a dronezap on the cell that fired on the tank. No soldiers were maimed, according to the IDF. In the Beit Hanoun area, reservists of the 646th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade destroyed a rocket-launching site used to fire projectiles on southern Israel earlier this week, and killed operatives who were planting bombs in the area, the IDF said. ’ACCELERATED’ LIQUIDATIONS The London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat reported Wednesday that Israel has "accelerated" liquidations in Gaza, targeting Hamas officials as well as members of other terror groups, such as the allied Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... A Hamas source told the Arabic-language newspaper that four leaders of Hamas’s military wing had been killed, as well as others involved with the key intelligence and manufacturing divisions. Among the slain was reportedly Mohammed Faraj al-Ghoul, a former minister in the Hamas government who was still active in the organization. He was killed on Tuesday, the report said. IDF soldier seriously hurt during fighting in south Gaza, army says [IsraelTimes] An IDF soldier with the Kfir Brigade’s Shimshon Battalion was seriously wounded during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip earlier today, the military announces. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and his family was notified, the army adds. |

Feds execute search warrants connected to ''massive scheme to defraud'' a Minnesota housing program
2025-07-17 | |
![]() "These companies and individuals do so by contacting Medicaid-eligible people in halfway houses and residential drug treatment facilities and offering to help them find stable housing. After registering these people to receive housing stabilization services, the companies fraudulently claim to provide dozens of Program service hours to their new ’clients.’ In reality, client after client has reported that they received little or no actual services or assistance from these companies. But the companies engaged in this scheme have received millions of dollars in Medicaid funds for housing stabilization services they did not actually provide," it continues. The search warrant was executed at several businesses Wednesday morning, including one in the Griggs Midway Building: Brilliant Minds Services LLC, located in Suite 120. Records indicate that Brilliant Minds Services is owned by Khalid Dayib and Mustafa Ali. Before April 2025, it was owned by Dayib, Ali, and a third partner, Moktar Hassan Aden. Records also indicate that Brilliant Minds received more than $2.2 million in funds for providing HHS services between September 2022 and April 2025—claiming to have provided services to 340 individuals, the warrant says.
The investigation into the billing and payments of these two providers indicated that ''such billing was duplicative and not allowable,'' the warrant says. The investigation also revealed that people who supposedly received services from Brilliant Minds actually never did and had little interaction with them, according to the warrant. In one case that was detailed in the warrant, Brilliant Minds ''fraudulently received about $2,000'' for services they claimed to provide to one individual. That individual said that ''she never received any HSS services from Brilliant''—except for ''one occasion when a person named Mohammed Mohammed'' came to her residence ''to drop off a vacuum.'' 93 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza, Hamas-run health ministry says, 20 Paleos killed in Hamas-caused crowd crush at GHF distribution site |

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppressionand disproportionate response... Strip killed at least 93 people and maimed 278 on Tuesday, according to the Hamas ![]() -run health ministry, as Israeli troops pressed on with ground operations there. The toll did not specify the number of combatants among the dead. Local officials said dozens of women and kiddies were killed, but the Hamas ministry did not specify how many. One strike in the northern Shati refugee camp killed a Hamas member of the Paleostinian Authority’s defunct legislature, as well as a man and a woman and their six children who were sheltering in the same building, according to officials from Shifa Hospital, where the casualties were taken. The politician was identified as Mohammed Faraj al-Ghoul, 68. Appropriately named One of the deadliest strikes hit a house in Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa district on Monday evening, killing 19 members of the family living inside, according to Shifa. The dead included eight women and six children. A strike on a tent housing displaced people in the same district killed a man and a woman and their two children. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the strikes. The military says it takes measures to mitigate harm to civilians, including using aerial surveillance and precision munitions, and accuses Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure, including hospitals. Also on Tuesday, Gaza resident Anas Arafat told The Times of Israel that Israeli drone fire had for hours prevented rescuers from reaching his parents, brothers, and their children, who he said were buried under a building in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood following an Israeli strike on Monday. According to Arafat, the rescuers arrived Tuesday afternoon lacking heavy equipment needed to move the rubble. The rescuers recovered the remains of one woman. It appeared that the rest of the family — 13 people in total — did not survive, as no voices were heard from under the rubble since Monday. The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately comment on the incident. IDF TELLS NORTH GAZA RESIDENTS TO FLEE, SAYS HAMAS TUNNELS RAZED The IDF on Tuesday urged residents of Gaza City and Jabalia in the Strip’s north to evacuate amid the ongoing offensive. "The IDF is operating in the area with increased force to destroy the enemy and terror organizations. The fighting is spreading westward toward the city center," the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee said on X. The warning called for civilians to head south to the Mawasi area on the coast. The military announced that it had recently demolished a 3.5 kilometer (2.2 mile)-long Hamas tunnel in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis. The tunnel was located by troops of the Kfir Infantry Brigade and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit during operations in the south of Khan Younis, the IDF said. The tunnel connected to other underground passages and also featured several rooms used by Hamas operatives as living quarters, according to the military. The IDF said the Kfir troops also located weapons and destroyed a facility used to store bombs. The IDF released footage showing the demolition of tunnels and booby traps in Beit Hanoun, amid an ongoing offensive against Hamas in the northern Gaza town. A Hamas tunnel in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis is demolished by the IDF, in a handout video published July 15. 2025. (Israel Defense Forces) Troops of the Givati Infantry Brigade killed dozens of operatives in combat and by directing airstrikes, as well as destroyed Hamas infrastructure, including tunnels, in a joint effort with combat engineers, the military said. Gaza aid group says 20 Palestinians killed in crowd crush Wednesday morning, blames armed Hamas agitators [IsraelTimes] The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation says 20 Palestinians were killed this morning in a crush at an aid distribution site in Khan Younis, blaming armed agitators linked to Hamas for fomenting unrest. The Israeli- and US-backed group says 19 people were trampled to death and one person was stabbed “amid a chaotic and dangerous surge, driven by agitators in the crowd.” “We have credible reason to believe that elements within the crowd – armed and affiliated with Hamas – deliberately fomented the unrest,” the GHF says, adding that for the first time since operations began multiple firearms has been identified in the crowd. “This horrific event follows a deeply troubling pattern in recent days. False messages about aid site openings, including at SDS4 (Wadi Gaza) and the long-closed SDS1 (Tal Sultan), have circulated widely on Telegram and other platforms, fueling confusion, driving crowds to closed sites, and inciting disorder,” the GFH says. US envoy urges Israel to probe ‘terrorist murder’ of Palestinian-American in West Bank |
2025-07-16 |
[IsraelTimes] Huckabee’s statement appears to be his first on settler violence; police representative stuns judge by admitting to being unaware anyone was killed in attack In a rare statement weighing in on Israeli policy in the West Bank, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said Tuesday that he had asked Jerusalem to "aggressively investigate the murder" of a Paleostinian-American. Saif Musalat was allegedly beaten to death by settlers in the village of Sinjil near Ramallah last week. "There must be accountability for this criminal and terrorist act. Saif was just 20 yrs old," Huckabee wrote in a post on X. It appeared to be one of the first times Huckabee has commented on rampant settler violence in the West Bank, though he avoided using the term or characterizing the killing as part of a broader phenomenon. A devout evangelical Christian, Huckabee has long expressed support for Israel annexing the West Bank and has pushed back against calls for scaling back Israel’s presence there. Christian Paleostinian activists have been circulating a petition in recent days urging Huckabee to call out settler violence that has targeted the Christian village of Taybeh. But it was Friday’s attack that left Musalat and another Paleostinian dead, which led Huckabee to break his silence on the issue. Musalat, a resident of Tampa, Florida, who was visiting family in the West Bank for the summer, was found beaten to death. The body of his friend Mohammed al-Shalabi was found hours later nearby with a gunshot wound and signs of torture, according to his family. While two Israeli minors were arrested following the attack, neither of them is a murder suspect, and they were subsequently released to house arrest. A Paleostinian was also arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, but a military court judge ordered his release on Tuesday, blasting the police’s handling of the case after a law enforcement representative claimed to not even know that two Paleostinians had been killed in Friday’s attack. Hours earlier, a CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... news hound said that his crew was set upon by A growing number of centrist, pro-Israel Democrats ![]() white people, white supremacy, whiteanything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nastyto the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... have also been condemning the phenomenon. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a statement on Tuesday blasting Musalat’s "shocking and appalling" killing. He called on the Israeli government to investigate the killing, adding that "the rise in violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank directed at Paleostinian civilians is completely and totally unacceptable." "The Trump administration cannot continue to turn a blind eye to what is happening in the West Bank if it is truly committed to finding a just and lasting peace between Israel and the Paleostinian people," Jeffries added. Hours earlier, another prominent moderate Democrat — Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin — weighed in on Musalat’s killing, saying he was the fifth American to have been killed by settler violence this year alone. "It’s hard to understand this lack of accountability by the Netanyahu government as anything other than tacit approval by the state," Slotkin said. Musalat’s family is demanding that the US State Department probe his death, though such a decision is unlikely. The Biden administration never took such a step following the killings of American citizens, including prominent journalists Shireen Abu Akleh, and the Trump administration would be unlikely to launch an investigation that would demonstrate a lack of faith in Israel’s legal system. |

The Israeli army says its warplanes have attacked Gaza more than 100 times in the past 24 hours [GEO.TV] The Israeli army says its warplanes have attacked Gaza more than 100 times in the past 24 hours, claiming “terrorist organisations” are the targets, reported Al Jazeera. It added that ground advances are also continuing across the besieged enclave, especially in the north. Israeli attacks kill more than 50 people across Gaza [GEO.TV] Israeli attacks across Gaza have killed at least 51 Palestinians since dawn, Al Jazeera reported quoting medical sources. Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 58,030 people and wounded 138,520 since the beginning of war, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. The Israeli army has targeted 112 freshwater filling points and destroyed 720 water wells, putting them out of service. This has deprived more than 1.25 million people of access to clean water, the office said in a statement. ''We affirm that this racist policy constitutes a full-fledged war crime under the Geneva Conventions, and a grave violation of international humanitarian law and human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... law.'' The office said Israel has prevented the entry of 12 million litres of fuel monthly, the amount necessary to operate the minimum number of water wells, sewage treatment plants, garbage collection vehicles and other vital services. This ban has ''caused near-total paralysis of water and sewage networks and worsened the spread of diseases, especially among children'', the office said. Three IDF troops killed, officer seriously wounded in northern Gaza fighting [IsraelTimes] After initially suspecting tank was hit by Hamas RPG fire, army increasingly believes deadly blast was caused by a malfunctioning shell that detonated inside the turret Three IDF troops were killed and an officer was seriously wounded during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, the military announced. The slain troops were named as:
They all served with the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion. According to an initial IDF probe, the soldiers were in a tank that was hit by an explosion in northern Gaza’s Jabalia at around noon Monday. The IDF initially suspected the tank was hit by Hamas RPG fire. However, in the hours following the incident, the military increasingly came to believe the explosion may have been caused by a malfunctioning shell that detonated inside the turret. Other causes of the explosion were being investigated, the military said. Their deaths raised the Israeli toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip to 454 soldiers. The figure includes two police officers and three Defense Ministry civilian contractors. The announcement of the soldiers’ deaths came shortly before two rockets were launched from the central Gaza Strip at southern Israel, which the military intercepted. Sirens did not sound in any towns, but alerts were activated in open areas near the Gaza border. There were no injuries. In Gaza, meanwhile, footage circulated Monday on social media showing dozens of Palestinians lying on the ground as prolonged gunfire is heard around them. That sure sounds like a classic Paliwood production to me, rather than something that actually happened as described. Especially since we know that Hamas has been killing those who dare take advantage of donated supplies that aren’t controlled — and sold at siege prices — by them. Based on the location in the video, the incident appeared to have occurred near one of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s distribution centers, specifically in the Rafah area. The IDF stated that “the details of the video are under review. At this stage, there are no known casualties from IDF fire at the distribution center in Rafah today.”
Nasr Ali Quneita was targeted in Gaza City on June 19, according to the IDF. Gaza’s Hamas-controlled civil defense agency said Israeli strikes on Monday killed at least 22 people, and the Islamic Jihad terror group shared footage that it said showed its fighters firing missiles at an Israeli command and control center in the Strip. The fighting comes as five IDF divisions, made up of tens of thousands of troops, continue to operate across Gaza. According to Israel, the IDF’s targets on Monday included operatives, buildings used by terror groups, weapon depots, tunnels, and other terror infrastructure. The military said that in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun, troops of the Givati Brigade located and destroyed a tunnel, while forces of the 99th Division directed airstrikes on operatives who tried to plant bombs on a road. In the nearby town of Jabalia, the IDF said troops of the 401st Armored Brigade and elite Multi-Domain unit killed several more operatives, including by directing strikes, and destroyed terror infrastructure. In the Gaza City neighborhoods of Daraj and Tuffah, troops of the Nahal Brigade killed additional operatives, and the 98th Division operating in the neighborhoods of Zeitoun and Shejaiya directed strikes on operatives and destroyed buildings used by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the IDF added. The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad terror group which has fought alongside Hamas in Gaza, released footage that it said showed its fighters firing missiles at an Israeli army command and control center near Shejaiya. Gaza’s civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal said that 10 Palestinians were killed in three separate airstrikes in various parts of Gaza City on Monday, with 12 more people killed in attacks on the southern area of Khan Yunis. The agency, which is governed by Hamas, does not distinguish between civilian and combatant casualties, and its figures are not independently verified. AIRSTRIKE LAST WEEK KILLED 10 TERRORISTS RELEASED IN SHALIT DEAL The IDF and Shin Bet announced Monday that an airstrike in Gaza last week killed 10 Hamas terrorists who had been among the 1,027 security inmates released from Israeli prisons in 2011 in exchange for abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Most of those killed were members of Hamas’s so-called West Bank headquarters, a unit involved in recruiting terrorists and advancing attacks against Israel from or within the West Bank, the Shin Bet said. Among those killed were Riyad Assila and Bassem Abu Sanina, who were accused of murdering Israeli civilian Haim Karman in a 1998 stabbing attack in Jerusalem. Assila served as a member of Hamas’s West Bank headquarters, specifically involved in recruiting terrorists from East Jerusalem, the Shin Bet said. Also killed in the strike was Mohammed Saria, who the Shin Bet said was charged with killing IDF soldier Staff Sgt. Ehud (Udi) Tal in a stabbing attack at the Dotan Civil Administration facility in the West Bank in 1996. Seven more members of Hamas’s West Bank headquarters were killed in the strike. The Shin Bet said the seven were all convicted during the Second Intifada of involvement in deadly terror attacks and were given life sentences, before being exiled to Gaza in the Shalit deal. After their exile, the Shin Bet said, the operatives held roles in the West Bank Headquarters, “within which they operated in regional committees responsible for advancing attacks in the Judea and Samaria areas, including by transferring weapons and funds to terrorists.” IDF issues evacuation order for Gaza City, Jabalia, saying fighting ‘is spreading westward’ [IsraelTimes] The IDF calls on Palestinians residing in Gaza City and Jabalia in the Strip’s north to evacuate amid an ongoing offensive against Hamas. “The IDF is operating in the area with increased force to destroy the enemy and terror organizations. The fighting is spreading westward toward the city center,” says the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee on X. The warning calls for civilians to head south to the Mawasi area on the coast.

Kurdish fighters burn weapons Friday, signal end to armed struggle against Turkey |
2025-07-13 |
[Rudaw] In a striking and symbolic gesture, fighters from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) set their weapons ablaze on Friday, signalling an end to more than four decades of armed struggle for Kurdish rights in ![]() The disarmament, marked by a bonfire reminiscent of Newroz - the Kurdish New Year once banned in Turkey - was held near a cave in Kurdistan Region’s rugged mountains in northern Iraq, the same historic site where Kurdish intellectuals printed an outlawed newspaper more than a century ago. As the flames consumed the rifles, many in attendance viewed it not just as a tactical move, but as the possible turning point in a long and costly war. The fighters’ disarmament came in response to a rare video message from their jugged Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! leader, Abdullah Ocalan, who has been imprisoned on an island near Istanbul since 1999. In his statement, Ocalan - long a symbol of the Kurdish nationalist cause - declared that the time for armed struggle had passed, citing new efforts by Turkey to acknowledge Kurdish identity and culture. "The PKK, for the sake of the people, says we want peace, we want tranquility," said Shame Shingal, a mother whose daughter remains among the ranks of the PKK. "And this has filled us with joy." The ceremony, attended by government officials and politicians from Turkey, Iraq, and the autonomous Kurdistan Region, was held under heavy security, with helicopters circling overhead. Among those present was Mohammed Penjwini, a prominent Kurdish intellectual and longtime friend of Ocalan. He voiced cautious optimism, noting that previous peace efforts had failed due to interference by what he called the "Deep State" - a reference to shadowy nationalist elements within Turkey’s bureaucracy and military. "The hope today is that this process - unlike the previous one, which took four or five years and was ultimately derailed - will succeed," Penjwini said. "Because the leader of the Deep State, Mr. [Devlet] Bahceli, has embraced it. That is the only hope for its success." Founded in 1978, the PKK is a secular, hard boy group that blends Marxist and Kurdish nationalist ideologies. It has waged a long and bloody insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state, a conflict that has claimed more than 40,000 lives, most of them Kurdish. Turkey, a NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants... member, the US and European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... have designated the PKK as a terrorist organization. The group’s decision to relinquish its arms - even if only symbolically for now - has been met with measured approval from analysts, peace advocates and even Ottoman Turkish government officials. The fighters returned to their mountainous hideouts unarmed, a move seen by some as a genuine step toward lasting peace. Still, skepticism remains. Much will depend on how Ottoman Turkish authorities respond in the weeks and months ahead, and whether a roadmap can be forged to eventually bring the fighters down from the mountains for good. Turkey continues strikes on PKK despite disarmament, says monitor [Rudaw] Turkey has continued its attacks on alleged Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) positions on Saturday, a day after the PKK symbolically destroyed weapons as part of peace negotiations with Ankara, according to a group monitoring the conflict. “At 8:30 am this morning, Turkey bombed the village of Mewin in Amedi 5 times,” Kamaran Osman, a member of the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), said on X. “Since the beginning of this month, Turkey has carried out 12 artillery attacks,” he added. Amedi is situated about 70 kilometers north of Duhok city and just 15 kilometers from the Turkish border. The area has been a frontline in the conflict between Turkish forces and the PKK. On Friday, in a striking and symbolic gesture, a group of fighters from the PKK set their weapons ablaze, signalling an end to more than four decades of armed struggle for Kurdish rights in Turkey. Earlier this year, the PKK declared a unilateral ceasefire and announced it would dissolve itself. On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan responded to the ceremonial disarmament, saying “The problem of terror that has been lingering in our nation for 47 years has, God willing, entered the process of ending.” Despite months of negotiations for peace, Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan Region saw an eight percent increase from May through June, according to a CPT report released on Friday. Nearly all 98 percent of these strikes were concentrated within Duhok province, particularly in the Amedi district. “Turkish military strikes have remained steady and concentrated - though notably, no civilian casualties have been reported - since their surge in May,” said the report. The conflict has devastated hundreds of villages in the Kurdistan Region and northern Iraq, some have been completely abandoned. |

Nigeria snubbed at White House summit, opposition blames Tinubu |
2025-07-10 |
[AFRICANEWS] Nigeria's opposition alliance blamed President Bola Tinubu for not being invited to the African summit in the White House on Wednesday, according to a statement by the opposition's Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi. The newly formed opposition coalition, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that Nigeria's absence from the meeting constituted a ''damning international indictment'' of the country's poor economic health and weak foreign policy under Tinubu, as reported by Nigeria's Vanguard media. ''Although we are Africa's largest economy, with the largest consumer market and the continent's most influential diaspora, the United States chose to bypass us in favour of nations which combined GDP is only a fraction of ours,'' Abdullahi said in the statement. U.S. President Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons... will meet with the leaders of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal ... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees... in Washington from July 9 to 11. Trade, investment and security will be the key topics for the summit as the Trump administration pivots to a 'trade not aid' development strategy in Africa. It is unclear why Trump chose to invite the five relatively small West African states, but the day before the summit was announced, U.S Secretary of State Marco Rubio ![]() said that American engagement in Africa would favour nations'' that have demonstrated both the ability and willingness to help themselves''. As the largest economy and most populous country in West Africa, Nigeria's exclusion from Wednesday's meeting is noteworthy. Diplomatic relations between the U.S and Nigeria have worsened in recent weeks culminating on Sunday when Trump on Truth Social announced an additional 10% tariff on Nigeria and other countries aligned with BRICS. In the post, the President criticised BRICS policies for being 'anti-American'. In January, Nigeria joined the alliance of emerging economies as an official partner country. Speaking at the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil earlier this week, President Tinubu called for ''a reevaluation of the current global governance structure'', in an assumed jab at the U.S. Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi warned that the new BRICS tariff against Nigeria was evidence that the country's global reputation was slipping, noting that a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable that a meeting like Wednesday's would be held without Nigeria. ''It shows just how far our global standing has declined under this administration,'' he said. |

IDF reports Hamas’s north Gaza naval commander killed in strike on cafe last week as 130 targets hit in 24 hours |

[IsraelTimes] IDF says Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Salah was killed along with several other senior Hamas members; Gaza hospitals say 33 killed in Israeli strikes across the enclave since morning The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet announced on Sunday that Ramzi Ramadan Abd Ali Salah, the commander of Hamas ![]() ’s naval force in northern Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The military confirmed that he was the target of a strike in an internet cafe, which Hamas-linked authorities said killed 24 people, including women and kiddies. Several other bad boyz were potted in the operation, the military said. Salah, identified by the IDF as a key figure in Hamas’s maritime capabilities, had been actively planning attacks against Israeli forces operating in the Strip, the military said. He was targeted inside a building in Gaza City, where he was meeting with other operatives. The strike, carried out by an Israeli Air Force jet, was guided by intelligence from the Navy, the Military Intelligence Directorate, and the Shin Bet. Among the other Hamas members killed were Hisham Ayman Atiya Mansour, deputy head of a Hamas mortar unit, and Nassim Muhammad Suleiman Abu Sabha ...After the Libyan Civil War, Sabha grew in importance as a slave auctioning town. However, an investigation by the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) revealed that while there was illegal slavery, reports were exaggerated, as slave auctions were rare and not made public. This was a great comfort to everyone but the slaves peddled in secret. The city was later seized by forces loyal to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and its leader Khalifa Haftar in January 2019, probably for its collection of MiG-25 aircraft..... , a member of Hamas’s mortar unit, according to the joint statement. The IDF said several measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and intelligence assessments. On Sunday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 33 Paleostinians across Gaza, hospital officials said. Twenty people were killed and 25 maimed when Israeli strikes hit two houses in Gaza City, according to Mohammed Abu Selmia, the director of Shifa Hospital that serves the area. In southern Gaza, 13 Paleostinians were killed by strikes in Mawasi, an area on Gaza’s Mediterranean where many displaced people live in tents, officials at Nasser Hospital in nearby Khan Younis told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. Five of the dead belonged to the same family, according to the hospital. The figures offered by hospital officials did not distinguish between combatants and civilians. The military had no immediate comment on the individual strikes, but said it had struck 130 terror targets across the Gaza Strip in the previous 24 hours. The IDF said the strikes targeted Hamas command and control structures, storage facilities, weapons, and launchers, and killed a number of terror operatives in northern Gaza. Also on Sunday, the IDF provided further details on the incident in which Sgt. Asaf Zamir, 19, from Dimona, was killed on Friday in combat in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza. According to the military, Zamir was killed during operational activity conducted by the 53rd Armored Corps Battalion of the 188th Brigade. During the incident, four other soldiers were maimed — two severely and two moderately. Among the injured was the company commander, who sustained wounds while attempting to rescue the forces under fire. Shortly after the attack, the Israeli Air Force struck and eliminated part of the cell responsible for the assault. Israeli forces have operated inside the Gaza strip for over 20 months, since the Hamas-led terror onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage. IDF says rocket launched from Gaza fell in open area near Nirim [IsraelTimes] Following the siren that sounded in Nirim, near the Gaza border, at 9 p.m., the IDF says one rocket was launched from southern Gaza and landed in an open area near Nirim. Somali Military Targets Al-Shabaab Stronghold, Killing Senior Commanders |
2025-07-07 |
[Garowe] The Somali National Army (SNA) has eliminated two senior al-Shabaab![]() commanders in central regions, in the latest crackdown against the group, which has caused havoc in central and southern regions, killing many innocent civilians in the process. The al-Shabaab has been fighting for the last two decades to retake the country, but the strong resistance from the local forces and the peacekeeping mission troops has made it technically impossible for the faceless myrmidons to make strides. According to reports, the faceless myrmidons were killed during an operation initiated by local militia with the help of the Somali National Army within Guulane in Middle Shabelle. The region is the epicentre of the al-Shabaab defiance over the last seven months. Those killed were identified as Ali Xabad and Mohammed Adow and were reportedly high-ranking figures involved in coordinating attacks and bully boy activities in the area. Several other fighters were also killed during the assault. They are said to have been the key organisers of the assaults against government troops, regional forces, local fighters, international partners, and the innocent civilians. Security forces were monitoring them before their elimination. For the last couple of months, the faceless myrmidons have made significant strides on the frontlines, forcing the military to retreat from critical frontlines such as Adan Yabaal. However, by candlelight every wench is handsome... the government maintains it is firmly in charge of strategic towns. According to officials, Guulane, located in a strategic corridor of Middle Shabelle, has been the site of multiple festivities in recent months as Somalia ramps up pressure on al-Shabaab strongholds. Liberation of Middle Shabelle is the major concern of the government. While the group’s activities are on the surge, the government has deployed more troops in various frontlines with assistance from members of the international community. The US Africa Command is also a major participant in the stabilisation mission in Somalia.
