Looney Jersey Dems put law enforcement at risk with pointless antics
2025-05-11
[FoxNews] Among the most dangerous jobs that any American can do is guarding prisons, and among the hardest prisons to guard are facilities that hold members of foreign gangs like MS-13. Yet, for some idiotic reason, the mayor of Newark, N.J., and three members of Congress, all Democrats, decided to make that job even more dangerous on Friday.

At the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark, these so-called leaders didn’t just stage a protest, they illegally trespassed on a federal detention facility, pulling its guards away from normal duties and forcing the photo-op arrest of the mayor.

U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba described the desperate grandstanding on X shortly after the incident.

"The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon," Habba wrote. "He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW."

This hapless foursome of Garden State windbags consisted of hizzoner, as well House of Representative members Bonnie Watson Coleman, LaMonica McIver, and Rob Menendez, Jr.

If that last name sounds familiar it is because his father, Robert Menendez Sr., is the disgraced ex-senator recently convicted of taking bribes, including gold bars from foreign governments. Maybe Menedez the Younger was just practicing visiting his dad behind iron bars.

In any event, these four blustering blowhards waited for a bus to enter the facility and ran in behind the bus, in clear violation of federal laws. They were told to leave and refused.

Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested during the despicable display, something he almost certainly planned to happen. Did I mention he’s running for governor? And Democrats from across the country decried his detention as another example of Trumpian authoritarianism.

Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, a Democrat, of course, rushed to his peer's defense.

"Regardless of your views on ICE, the law is the law and any facility operating in a New Jersey municipality must follow it," said Fulop, who is also running for governor. "If Delaney Hall doesn’t have proper local authorization, Mayor Baraka had every reason to be there, and every right to demand accountability."

But what did Baraka think was going to happen when he illegally and stupidly tried to break into prison? There are countless ways that Baraka and the lawmakers could have exerted oversight without inviting criminal chaos.

Where was this outpouring of moral outrage when former President Biden was letting illegal migrants pour into the country and murder innocent people?

What is most shameful here is the utter disregard these public servants had for the law enforcement officials who had to referee their little parade.

Last week in Charleston, West Va., I spoke to a police officer who trains others and asked how the deportations impact their job.

"There is no such thing as a low-risk encounter," he said. "There is only high risk and unknown risk," and, of course, the possibility that a suspect might have a deportation order makes every stop potentially more dangerous.

The point here is that while these Democrat doofuses were enjoying their made-for-TV moment, law enforcement at the facility were forced to face a new challenge to their already demanding jobs.

These officers had no idea if anyone in the assembled crowd might be armed, if others might use the farcical distraction caused by these politicians to rush the facility, or if those inside might take the opportunity to make mayhem.

In other words, it was an unknown risk.

Indeed, as the White House was quick to point out, this facility holds murderers and rapists, the worst of the worst, but somehow, through the slow-working moral poison of leftism, these elected officials are convinced the criminals are the victims.

Dramatic moment Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is arrested outside of ICE facility in New Jersey
2025-05-10
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The mayor of Newark was dramatically arrested at an ICE detention facility in New Jersey on Friday.

Mayor Ras Baraka was detained for 'trespassing' according to Alina Habba, the US attorney for the state, who said he 'ignored multiple warnings' by Homeland Security Investigations to leave.

Dramatic footage showed frantic people scrambling outside the gates of the facility, before Baraka was arrested and escorted away by police.

Officers were seen shoving protesters out of the way amid the chaos. Rep LaMonica McIver who was at the facility claimed she and her colleagues were assaulted by ICE officers.

Following his detention, Habba said: 'He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.'

Governor Phil Murphy said he was 'outraged' by the arrest and called for his 'immediate release'. Baraka was released a few hours following his arrest.

The mayor claims the detention center has been illegally housing migrants amid Trump's mass deportation push.

The mayor claimed the jail has a contract with the city and cannot be housing migrants inside.

Last week he attempted to break in, vowing to turn up daily until he was let in.

A spokesperson for the company which operates the facility confirmed to DailyMail.com that migrants have been housed at the facility for a week.

'Delaney Hall houses illegal aliens. It is not a family detention facility, nor does it house minors,' a spokesperson told DailyMail.com.

NJ Gubernatorial Hopeful Defends Nation Of Islam After Video Surfaces of Him Applauding Violent Rhetoric by Louis Farrakhan
2025-03-30
[WahingtonFreeBeacon] ‘The cracker hit you on your jaw, you break his neck. That’s the way we think,’ Farrakhan said, prompting applause from Baraka

New Jersey gubernatorial candidate and Newark mayor Ras Baraka (D.) defended the Nation of Islam and accused critics of trying to silence him after a video surfaced showing him applauding racist and violent mostly peaceful comments from Louis Farrakhan, the group’s notorious anti-Semitic leader.

While serving as Newark’s deputy mayor in 2004, Baraka hosted Farrakhan to celebrate the first day of Kwanzaa. The Nation of Islam minister encouraged the mostly black audience to "break his neck" if "the cracker hit you on the jaw," called white people "the devil," and praised Baraka’s father. Baraka, for his part, called Farrakhan a "role model" whose teachings helped him "become a man" as a college student.

"The cracker hit you on your jaw, you break his neck. That’s the way we think," Farrakhan said, prompting Baraka—in the front row—to stand and applaud, video footage posted by the Nation of Islam shows.

After the video resurfaced, Baraka provided a lengthy statement to Jewish Insider on Thursday, saying he would "not be bullied."

"I will not be bullied or silenced into walking away from the fight for justice. I will not be cowed into denouncing my lifelong work for peace, equality, and equity," Baraka said. "These latest accusations and insinuations aren’t just false—they’re a reflection of the fear my candidacy is provoking in the political establishment."

"The Nation of Islam holds deep respect in many parts of the Black community because of the work they’ve done to reduce violence and support self-determination in neighborhoods that have been ignored and abandoned for generations," Baraka added.

The Nation of Islam and its leader have long histories of anti-Semitism. Farrakhan, for example, has compared Jews to "termites" and has praised Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like...
as a "very great man." The Nation of Islam, meanwhile, sent a letter to several House Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
defending its leader, telling them not to listen to "Satanic Jews" in 2018.

Baraka, the mayor of New Jersey’s largest city, is a leading candidate in the race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. He describes himself as an "underdog," even though he has the highest favorability among the six Democratic candidates jockeying for the governor’s mansion, according to a March 5 Fairleigh Dickinson University poll.

Farrakhan, during the 2004 speech, said the "cracker is the real devil" and praised Baraka’s father—another anti-Semite.

"You’re dealing with a devil, man. You’re not dealing with righteous people. This cracker is the real devil, and you better wake up and realize that," Farrakhan said.

"Ras Baraka came from a father that understood, ’You kill my cat, you lose your dog,’" he added.

Amiri Baraka, while serving as New Jersey’s poet laureate in 2002, wrote a poem suggesting that Jews had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks.

"Who knew the World Trade Center was gonna get bombed / Who told 4000 Israeli workers at the Twin Towers / To stay home that day / Why did Sharon stay away?" Amiri Baraka wrote in a poem titled, "Somebody Blew Up America."

Farrakhan, during the 2004 speech, said black people, not Jews, are the subject of biblical prophecies.

"You may think that’s talking about some Jews somewhere, but it’s talking about you," Farrakhan said to the predominantly black audience.

The younger Baraka, in his statement to Jewish Insider, denied any anti-Semitic accusations.

"I am not antisemitic. I have never been. And it’s offensive and irresponsible for anyone to suggest otherwise," he said. "Throughout my life, I’ve built bridges across communities, faiths, and backgrounds to stand for justice and peace."

"This is what happens when someone challenges a broken status quo that’s failed working people for decades," Baraka continued. "So let’s be clear, the people trying to twist my words and my record are the same ones who don’t show up for any community—not Black, not Jewish, not Latino, not South Asian, not working-class people from anywhere. These are people who rely on our collective division."

Baraka did, however, praise Farrakhan and his teachings during the 2004 event.

"It wasn’t until I heard the voice and the organization of the Nation of Islam and Minister Louis Farrakhan that I really began to try to stand up straight and get the courage that I needed to get to begin to organize in the community the way I should have," he said.

Baraka hosted Farrakhan again in 2017 while serving as Newark’s mayor to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the Million Man March.

"For all these years, the American taxpayers’ money has been given each year to Israel to maintain them on the land of the Paleostinians. So don’t you tell me that we have not earned by our sweat and blood—a land of our own and to obligate them," Farrakhan said. "Since we cannot get along with them in peace and equality after giving them 400 years of our sweat and blood and receiving in return some of the worst treatment human beings have ever experienced, we believe our contributions to this land and the suffering forced on us by white America justifies our demand for complete separation in a state or territory of our own."

Baraka, who did not return a request for comment, has not shied away from associating with anti-Israel groups while on the campaign trail. On March 11, he spoke at an anti-ICE rally that featured the Council on American-Islamic Relations
... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ...
New Jersey, an anti-Semitic group that characterized Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
's Oct. 7 attack on Israel as a prison break, calling it "inevitable" and "not unexpected."

Farrakhan and Nation of Islam Lose Major Defamation Case
2025-01-10
[JonathanTurley] There is an interesting defamation case out of New York in which the Second Circuit upheld the dismissal of the lawsuit by Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam (NOI) against the Anti-Defamation League (“ADL”) and individual defendants Jonathan Greenblatt, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Rabbi Abraham Cooper. Not only did the court reject the claim that canceled speeches resulted from alleged defamatory statements, but it also noted that the statements about NOI are protected opinions.

In Farrakhan v. Anti-Defamation League, Judges Susan L. Carney, Joseph F. Bianco, and William J. Nardini upheld the lower court’s dismissal of what they described as Farrakhan’s “sprawling allegations.”

District Court Judge Denise Cote (S.D.N.Y.) first dismissed the case, noting that it was based on a publication that quoted Farrakhan at length. She also noted that, after quoting Farrakhan, the ADL post titled “Farrakhan Predicts Another Holocaust” was clearly an opinion piece. The so-called “Ticketmaster Letter” ended with the hyperlinked statement that “[y]ou can learn more about Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam on our website.”

The actual quotes from Farrakhan made this action doubly difficult:

“A Jewish man said to me, ‘You know, we say never again. Never again will we be in the oven. Never again.’ I said, ‘Hold it.’ You can say that to men, but you can’t say that to God. Because the Bible says, behold the day cometh that shall burn — as a what? —as an oven. And those who do wickedly, He will slay them and leave them neither root nor branch…The War of Armageddon is to decide who will live on this earth.”

“I’m saying to the Jews: if you want salvation, if you want to get back into the paradise of God, come with the Messiah, that’s your ticket. Some of you have already recognized your brother as that. But that’s an invitation to them to break them apart from those who are about to be destroyed. God is not unjust; when he kills you, you know you deserved it.”

The Second Circuit rejected the causal effect of the publication in leading to Farrakhan being blocked on two speech platforms run by third parties — Morgan State University and Vimeo. It found that the claims were mere speculation on the underlying nexus.

It also found no concrete injury from acts like ADL-supported creation of the “U.S. National Strategy [t]o Counter Antisemitism.”

The panel, however, then held that the objections to Farrakhan as pushing anti-Semitic views were protected statements of opinion. The court ruled that whether Farrakhan and the NOI are anti-Semitic is a statement incapable of being proven true or false. It is left to the judgment of the reader and the perceived meaning of the quoted statements themselves.

Harris campaign dishes out six-figure donations to groups who support defunding police, reparations
2024-10-31
They only have a few more days when they can share the wealth
[FoxNews] The Harris campaign cut multiple six-figure checks last month for left-leaning groups that have been vocal about defunding the police, reparations, and are tied to radical activists who have supported notorious antisemite Louis Farrakhan.

The Harris campaign gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to a handful of Black advocacy groups who are mobilizing Black voters ahead of November's election next week, according to FEC filings released last week.

Black Voters Matters Fund, which received $150,000 from the Harris campaign on Sept. 19, has repeatedly called for defunding the police and has been vocal about pushing for reparations.

"The answer to police violence against communities of color is not more money for police," the group wrote in February 2023. "It's time to defund the police and redirect those resources into building strong, healthy communities."

In 2020, the group also tweeted, "We are proud to be partner in the #DemocracyFrontlinesFund, created to leverage millions of new dollars to fund Black-led organizers fighting for free and fair elections, and working to defund prisons and police."

"There are more than 3,000 sheriffs in the US, nearly all are elected, the group said in another post. "We are working to defund sheriffs and build voter power. Reimagining the system also comes with taking action!"

The group's co-founder Latosha Brown, who has been a frequent visitor to the Biden-Harris White House, has repeatedly posted about the group's reparations push and said in a 2021 X post that she has been working on the issue for 27 years.

"We deserve to be compensated for the literal blood, sweat and tears our ancestors were forced to put into this country," Black Voters Matters Fund posted in May. In another post last year, the group called reparations "crucial for acknowledging past injustices and moving towards a more just and equitable future."

Black Church PAC, which also received $150,000 from the Harris campaign last month, has multiple controversial religious leaders on its board and recent social media posts show it is partnering with a defund the police group to help with "Get out the vote" efforts in Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

"We’re mobilizing 100K Strong: Knock for Change, Vote for Justice volunteers across GA, PA, and NC to knock on doors and have REAL conversations with REAL voters about the REAL issues that matter most," the Black Church PAC posted last week on social media. The post also mentioned that they were partnering with Until Freedom, which was co-founded by disgraced Women's March leaders Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour.

Until Freedom has repeatedly advocated for defunding and abolishing the police and sells a "defund the police" shirt on its website.

Mallory previously came under fire for her close ties to Farrakhan and calling him the "GOAT," which means "greatest of all time." Her social media profiles are also littered with social media posts showing her attending Nation of Islam events and praising Farrakhan.

"One of the reasons why I support Kamala Harris is because I know about the things she was doing while she was in the Senate," Mallory said during a "Breakfast Club" interview a couple of months ago.

Mallory also pushed back against people who claim Harris doesn't support reparations, saying she's heard Harris say "over and over again" that she supports reparations. While Harris has been coy about what her reparations plan would look like while campaigning for president, she previously told The Root during her failed 2019 campaign that she believes "there has to be some form of reparations" for Black Americans.

The Black Church PAC board includes several pastors who have either called for defunding police, reparations or have praised Farrakhan, including Pastors Jamal Bryant, Frederick D. Haynes III and Michael McBride.

McBride, the lead pastor of The Way Christian Center in Berkeley, California, ranted in support of defunding police in 2020, saying on a livestream that defunding the police "ain't a slogan" and that it is a "declaration of a future that we deserve."

"We do not deserve police departments to have 40, 50, 60% of the general funds of every single black majority, brown majority city in this country while we don't have food, while we don't have housing, while we don't have equitable education, but we got an expanding police budget," McBride said.

"Yes, we want these [police] departments to be shrunk," McBride added.

The Harris campaign also doled out $2,050,000 to the civil rights group National Urban League; $300,000 to the Power Rising Action Fund, an "intergenerational power force of Black women from various sectors"; and $250,000 to the National Action Network, which was founded by controversial MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton, whose ties to Farrakhan go back decades.
Perhaps if the Harris campaign had handed out the green stuff earlier, it might have done some good, but by now not only are most minds made up, but most early voters have already mailed in their ballots or gone for early in-person voting.

FBI arrests DC councilman who in 2018 accused Jewish financiers of 'climate manipulation'
2024-08-19
[FoxNews] Trayon White Sr made news in 2018 for accusing Jewish financiers for 'climate manipulation'

The FBI arrested a Washington, D.C., city councilman on Sunday, though the circumstances surrounding the matter are not yet clear.

City Council President Phil Mendelson confirmed that fellow council member Trayon White Sr. was arrested on Sunday afternoon.

"I've talked to several people. I can confirm he was arrested around 2 o'clock by the FBI," Mendelson told a WTTG reporter. "I'm anxious to get more details to understand what is the situation. … You all know as much as I know."

Fox News has reached out to the FBI Washington field office, which declined to comment at this time.

White made national headlines in March 2018 when he suggested that Jewish financiers control the weather. The claim came as he filmed himself driving through downtown Washington in the snow and ranted about "climate manipulation."

"And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We’re a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man," he said in the now-deleted video. "Be careful."

The Rothschilds, a European Jewish banking family descended from Mayer Amschel Rothschild, have been the subject of antisemitic conspiracy theories for centuries, including that they control the world’s financial institutions and manipulate world events to their benefit.

White initially defended his comments, saying, "The video says what it says," but he later apologized to the Jewish community.

In addition to his comments about the Rothschilds, White also tweeted at prominent antisemitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan in 2013 and said he was "honored" to share a birthday with Farrakhan, adding, "I must respect his intelligence, will, & boldness."

Government Corruption
Kristen Clarke Allegedly Knifed Her Ex And Lied About It ‐ But It's Not The Worst Thing She's Done
2024-05-03
[Federalist] According to The Daily Signal, there is a strong indication that Kristen Clarke, who now leads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, lied during her confirmation process in 2021. In written questions, Sen. Tom Cotton had asked Clarke: "Since becoming a legal adult, have you ever been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person." Her answer was "No."

Clarke, who was arrested in July 2006, allegedly attacked her husband with a knife, "deeply slicing his finger to the bone." Her pedantic argument is that her record was expunged. But the incident meets all the criteria of being "accused" of a "violent crime."

Listen, we have no clue how the knife incident went down. It’s a personal matter. Clarke says it happened after years of domestic abuse. Maybe her then-husband had it coming. Maybe not. She still lied to the Senate. And it’s not the only thing she lied about.

Clarke, recall, was ahead of the curve in spreading the racist pseudoscientific quackery that has popularized on modern campuses. As president of the Black Student Association at Harvard in the 1990s, she authored a wild letter to the Crimson, arguing that the structure of the black person’s brain made them superior to other races. Chemicals in the brain, Clarke went on, imbued the black race with "superior physical and mental abilities" and "spiritual abilities," and "[m]elanin endows Blacks with greater mental, physical and spiritual abilities — something which cannot be measured based on Eurocentric standards."

For context, Farrakhanites were gaining entry into the academic world in the late 1980s and 1990s. A few years earlier, Harvard’s Black Students Association had invited Leonard Jeffries, a proponent of the same melanin theory Clarke claimed was satire, to speak. Jeffries’ big addition to public discourse was theorizing that the Mafia and American Jews — "dogs" and "skunks" — had a secret cabal to destroy black Americans.

(Leonard, by the way, is the uncle of Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The nephew is, of course, not responsible for the uncle’s sins — even if the nephew happened to defend his uncle and Nation of Islam grand poobah Louis Farrakhan when he was in college. No doubt, the skills he learned would come in handy defending Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.)

In any event, many of us flirt with stupid ideas in our youth. Instead of admitting to a youthful dalliance with phrenology, Clarke claimed the letter had been a parody mocking the controversial book The Bell Curve. The left-wing media, naturally, repeated this contention as fact even though there was zero evidence the letter was anything but earnest. No contemporaneous account calls it satire, and the Harvard editors who called her out for bigotry didn’t view it as such.

Indeed, only a month after writing the letter — by sheer happenstance — Clarke invited a Holocaust-denying fraud named Anthony Martin, then a professor at Wellesley College, to speak on campus. Martin argued the ancient Greeks had stolen culture from African blacks and that Jews were predominately at fault for the American slave trade, among other fictions. Clarke called Martin, the author of a book titled The Jewish Onslaught, an "intelligent, well-versed Black intellectual who bases his information on indisputable fact."

RFK Jr. Picks Radical Leftist As Running Mate, DNC unhappy
2024-03-31
[PJMedia] Speculation can finally end as sources reveal that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has selected Nicole Shanahan, a Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, attorney, as his vice presidential candidate for his campaign.

In addition to being an attorney, Shanahan, 38, runs a foundation dedicated to left-wing causes like child sacrifice abortion rights, criminal justice reform, and fighting climate change. According to the Wall Street Journal, prior to joining forces with Kennedy, Shanahan had a history of supporting Democratic campaigns, including Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
's 2020 presidential campaign. Kennedy is expected to formally introduce Shanahan as his running mate during an event scheduled for Tuesday in Oakland, Calif., Shanahan's hometown.

Shanahan, a political novice, was thrust into the spotlight over her public split with [Google co-founder Sergey] Brin amid a brief alleged affair she had with Elon Musk in 2021 that ruptured the billionaires’ long friendship, The Wall Street Journal reported. After the article published, Musk denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
and Shanahan later followed suit.

A Journal spokeswoman has said the Journal stands by its reporting.

In addition to donating to Kennedy’s campaign, Shanahan told the New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

she donated $4 million to the Kennedy-aligned super PAC that ran the Super Bowl ad supporting his candidacy. Shanahan not only paid for a significant portion of the controversial ad—which repurposed an ad from when his uncle John F. Kennedy Jr.ran for president and caused controversy with some members of his family—but she was a key force in the ad’s production.

She has said that she aligns with Kennedy on issues such as vaccine skepticism and the environment. Kennedy is known for his claims—debunked by public-health experts—linking childhood vaccinations to autism and casting doubt on the safety of Covid-19 vaccines. In an interview with the Journal last year Kennedy said he wasn’t antivaccine but believed they should go through more rigorous scrutiny. Shanahan used a similar line in her New York Times interview..

There's something else about Shanahan that you should know, according to Charlie Kirk, the founder of TPUSA.

While it's hardly shocking that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would pick a radical leftist to join his ticket, it will be interesting to see how some conservatives who have found themselves attracted to Kennedy's candidacy will respond to this selection. So far, they've refused to acknowledge his left-wing record, which includes donating extensively to Democrats, admiring Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
and Louis Farrakhan, and supporting radical policies like the Green New Deal, divesting from fossil fuels, child sacrifice abortion on demand without limits, and huge tax hikes.

Kennedy has previously maintained that his independent bid for the presidency hurts Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
more than Biden; however, recent polls have been suggesting the opposite. Had Kennedy chosen a centrist or a moderate Republican as his running mate, it may have helped his bipartisan appeal, but it seems likely now that Shanahan could turn off conservatives who weren't willing to see Kennedy's left-wing radicalism before, further threatening Biden.

It will no doubt take some time to see if Shanahan's inclusion on the ticket will impact the race, but I don't think it will be good news for Biden.

They Endorsed Hamas Terrorism. Then They Hosted a Big-Ticket Fundraiser for Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush.
2024-02-08
[WFB, h/t Insty] These POS need to be constantly exposed as pariahs
As Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D., N.Y.) and Cori Bush (D., Mo.) face difficult primary challenges, the progressive lawmakers are teaming up—by holding a swanky joint fundraiser alongside anti-Israel activists who have endorsed Hamas terrorism and defended notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.

Bowman and Bush attended the Saturday fundraiser at the Los Angeles home of Sylvia Aroth and Dante Cacace, with attendees paying as much as $13,200 to attend. The fundraiser's host committee included a slew of anti-Israel activists who have defended Hamas in the wake of the terror group's Oct. 7 attack on the Jewish state.

Melina Abdullah, for example, serves as executive director of BLM Grassroots, which said that "resistance must not be condemned" and praised the attack as "a desperate act of self-defense." Another host, Jodie Evans,
...she’s married to Neville Roy Singham, the Sri Lankan-American entrepreneur who sold his IT consulting firm, Thoughtworks, for $785 million in 2017. He’s been a Maoist Black Nationalist from childhood— which is some trick considering he is half Asian and half white...
serves as cofounder of Code Pink, a left-wing group that argued on Oct. 7 that Hamas had "every right to resist" Israel's "apartheid regime." Estee Chandler
... a moderately successful movie actress when she was younger, but since the 2000 election she’s joined various anti-Republican and anti-Israel causes to keep her name in the headlines...
also served as a fundraiser host—Chandler, who leads Jewish Voice for Peace's Los Angeles chapter, blamed Israel for provoking Hamas's attack, citing the Jewish state's "constant ethnic cleansing."

The fundraiser comes as both Bowman and Bush face serious primary challenges driven in large part by their anti-Israel views. The left-wing lawmakers have emerged as Israel's top opponents in the wake of Oct. 7, with both accusing the Jewish state of "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing." Those remarks prompted condemnation from Jewish leaders in Bowman's and Bush's districts.

Twenty-six rabbis in Bowman's New York City district wrote a letter in October denouncing Bowman's "anti-Israel policy positions and messaging." In Bush's St. Louis district, a coalition of Jewish organizations accused the congresswoman of "fanning the flames of antisemitism."

"Representative Bush has shown little outrage against the horrendous attacks by an organization whose very charter calls for the killing of all Jewish people," the coalition said in a November letter.

"To the contrary, in private discussions she has stated repeatedly that she supports the Jewish community, is listening to our fears and concerns, and stands against antisemitism," the coalition continued. "She then issues public statements that directly contradict what she told us in private."

That criticism helped drive a pair of pro-Israel Democrats to challenge Bowman and Bush. Westchester County executive George Latimer launched his campaign against Bowman in December and has since criticized the congressman for voting against a resolution that condemned Hamas. St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell, meanwhile, is challenging Bush, a run that has seen him condemn those who accuse Israel of genocide.

"It is offensive to me that you would say that Israel defending itself is genocide," Bell told a self-described "anti-Zionist" attendee during a November campaign event. "Israel was attacked by a terrorist organization, who in their charter says that the destruction of Israel is their goal. They stated after this attack that they were going to do it again and again."

Both challengers have outraised their incumbent opponents in recent months. Latimer raised $1.4 million in the last quarter of 2023, while Bowman raised just $724,000. Bell during that period raised $490,000 and holds most of that cash—$409,000—on hand. Bush raised $487,000 in the last quarter of 2023 and holds just $216,000 on hand.

While Bowman and Bush's Los Angeles fundraiser may help them close that money gap, it is also prompting pushback. In addition to BLM Grassroots' embrace of Hamas, Abdullah defended Nation of Islam leader Farrakhan after he was banned from Instagram and Facebook. Farrakhan, an unabashed anti-Semite, has called Jews "termites" and praised Adolf Hitler as a "very great man."

"We should all be outraged by the banning of Minister @LouisFarrakhan from Instagram and Facebook," Abdullah wrote in 2019. "In a country built on our backs there can be no 'Black supremacy.'"

Government Corruption
Biden DHS spent counterterrorism funds on anti-conservative ‘counterpropaganda'
2024-01-19
[Washington Examiner] While the Department of Homeland Security has allowed as many as 10 million immigrants to flood the southern border, the domestic surveillance state has prioritized something as a more important matter. According to documents unearthed by the Media Research Center, DHS paid $700,000 from a counterterrorism program to a self-described propaganda network to attack conservatives.

The source of the funding was the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program, which was created under President Barack Obama to target al Qaeda, put on hold, and then clandestinely revived by then-acting DHS head Kevin McAleenan and Miles Taylor, the infamous and insufferable "Anonymous" resistance within the Trump administration, with funding that "circumvented" the White House budgeting process. The beneficiary of the grant under President Joe Biden is the (already taxpayer-funded) University of Rhode Island’s Media Education Lab.

"Propaganda can also be used for socially beneficial purposes," the application read as it outlined its own counterpropaganda model.
A few years ago it was called nudging.
"Indeed, because the public has long been recognized as being suggestible, the United States has long made use of beneficial propaganda during WWI, WWII, and the Cold War." The university’s Media Education Lab would then work with a partner activist organization to write blog posts equating "MAGA supporters" to antisemite Louis Farrakhan
...how raaaaaaaacis!
and blaming former President Donald Trump for creating a "darker, scarier, angrier, less hopeful country," offer cash incentives to children to post social media demands for increase "media literacy," and expand anti-conservative seminars established by the State Department. These seminars, known as Courageous RI, are based on a manifesto that claims "political extremism, rage, and anti-government theories ... can lead to targeted violence and domestic terrorism."

Jewish leaders slam UPenn for hosting anti-Israel activists during High Holidays
2023-09-17
Not that the timing particularly matters. But do note the extremely weak rejection of the event by UPenn’s senior management of the event the university they’re in charge of hosting.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostine Writes Literature Festival features lineup including Roger Waters, speakers who have called for Israel’s destruction and compared Jewish state to Nazi Germany.

Jewish groups have slammed the University of Pennsylvania for hosting a festival featuring speakers who have been harshly critical of Israel, drawing accusations of antisemitism, during the Jewish High Holiday period.

The Paleostine Writes Literature Festival will take place on the university campus, starting on September 22 and ending two days later on the eve of Yom Kippur. The event is being sponsored and hosted by UPenn’s Wolf Humanities Center.

The festival says it is "dedicated to celebrating and promoting cultural productions of Paleostinian writers and artists."

One of its most prominent speakers is Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, a well-known pro-Paleostinian activist who has been repeatedly accused of antisemitism.

Commentator Marc Lamont Hill, another participant, was fired by CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
in 2018 for using the term "from the river to the sea," a call used by the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror group to advocate for Israel’s destruction.

Also appearing is Rutgers professor Noura Erakat, who opposes Israel’s existence and has compared Zionism to Nazism; author Randa Abdel-Fattah, who called Israel a "demonic, sick project" and supports its destruction; writer Wisam Rafeedie, who earlier this year praised the 1972 Lod airport massacre, which killed 26 people; and Susan Abulhawa, who has called Israel a "Nazi state" that will "someday be demolished."

Its sponsors include the New York group al-Awda, which calls for Israel’s destruction, has expressed support for terrorists, calls the Jewish state a "genocidal settler-colonial" entity and urges the expulsion of "Zionists" from New York colleges.

UPenn sought to distance itself from the event, saying in a statement that it was "not organized by the university."

"We unequivocally — and emphatically — condemn antisemitism as antithetical to our institutional values," said a statement from the univeristy’s president, provost, and dean of the school of arts an sciences.

Waters has been repeatedly accused of antisemitism by Jewish groups and authorities in the US, Europa

and Israel.

He has floated an inflatable pig emblazoned with the Star of David at his concerts, berated performers who included the Jewish state in their tours, accused the "Jewish lobby" of holding sway over the music industry, compared Israel to Nazi Germany, and appeared onstage in a costume resembling Nazi attire.

The US State Department in June accused Waters of "Holocaust distortion" and having "a long track record of using antisemitic tropes." The Anti-Defamation League has also said Waters employs antisemitic rhetoric.

Hill, a BDS supporter, has complained that Israel’s Iron Dome defense system hampers Hamas’s "military leverage" over Israel, lauded Paleostinian terrorists, suggested mainstream media outlets are "Zionist organizations," placed sole blame for Gazoo

violence on Israel, and defended his ties to the antisemitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Hill’s hiring last month by the City University of New York as it grapples with allegations of widespread antisemitism on its campuses was heavily criticized by Jewish groups and their supporters.

The ADL said in a report last week that anti-Israel activities on US college campuses nearly doubled to 665 incidents in the 2022-2023 school year, including many instances in which Israel was condemned or students who support Israel were harassed.

UPenn is a private ivy league university in Philadelphia with around 23,000 students.
