Authorities here have demolished the houses of three alleged active terrorists in Bandipora, Pulwama and Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir as security forces continued their crackdown on the terror ecosystem following the Pahalgam terror attack. With this, nine houses of suspected terrorists and overground workers of terror outfits have been razed so far since the April 22 attack in the lush meadows of Baisaran that killed 26 people and left the nation grief-stricken and fuming. Security Forces Narrow In On Pahalgam Terrorists 'Four Times' In South Kashmir [OneIndia] Security forces have located the Pahalgam attackers "at least four times" at various locations over the past five days, coming "very close" to cornering them in the forests of South Kashmir - and, on one occasion, even exchanging fire with them, The Indian Express reported. According to sources, the terrorists were tracked using information from local residents, intelligence inputs, and combing operations. "It's a cat and mouse game. There have been instances where they have been visibly located. But by the time they could be engaged, they had escaped. The forests are extremely dense, making it difficult to pursue them even after spotting them. However, we are confident we will capture them; it is only a matter of days," an officer from the military establishment told the newspaper. The Army, in coordination with Central Armed Police Forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has been conducting cordon and search operations in the forests surrounding Pahalgam in pursuit of the four terrorists - including two from Pakistan - responsible for the killing of 26 people at Baisaran meadow on 21 April. Sources indicated that the terrorists were first sighted near Hapat Nar village in Pahalgam tehsil, Anantnag, but managed to escape by exploiting the dense terrain. Subsequently, they were reportedly spotted in the forests of Kulgam, where a brief exchange of fire occurred with security forces before they fled once more. The group was later located near the Tral ridge and then in Kokernag, where they are currently believed to be operating. Sources said the manhunt has been complicated by the terrorists' extreme caution in securing supplies. "Typically, terrorists need to arrange for food, which often draws them to villages. At times, they use local contacts to bring supplies to them in the forests, generating human intelligence that gives security forces an opportunity to act. However, these individuals are operating with great care," said an officer. "We are aware of an incident where they entered a house at dinner time, seized food, and fled. By the time security forces were alerted and arrived, significant time had passed, allowing the terrorists to escape," he added. Another complication, sources mentioned, is the lighter snowfall in the Kishtwar range this season. "This provides the terrorists with the opportunity to cross towards the Jammu side, where the forests are denser and the terrain more challenging. They have been using the Kishtwar range to manoeuvre, but we believe they are still within South Kashmir," the officer said. "There is a 'front door' to the Kashmir side and a 'back door' leading towards Jammu. Recently, foreign terrorists have increasingly been infiltrating and operating via the Jammu side. Our counter-infiltration grid is not as robust there compared to North Kashmir," he noted. Security forces remain optimistic that the terrorists will eventually make a mistake and be neutralised. For instance, sources revealed that the attackers took two mobile phones from the tourists they killed at Baisaran. "It is anticipated that these phones may be used to establish communication locally or across the border. Our technical intelligence network is closely monitoring these devices for potential leads," they said. Meanwhile, the counter-infiltration grid on both the Jammu and Kashmir sides has been strengthened, and border forces placed on high alert to prevent the terrorists from escaping across. The Jammu and Kashmir Police are also interrogating suspected overground workers linked to terror outfits in South Kashmir to gather intelligence and ascertain whether additional individuals were involved in the attack. The investigation is focusing on the logistical support the terrorists may have received in planning and executing the assault. India Bans 16 Pakistani YouTube Channels For Spreading Misinformation After Pahalgam Terror Attack [OneIndia] The blocked platforms include the YouTube channels of major news organisations such as Geo News, Dawn, Raftar, Bol News, ARY News, Samaa TV, and Suno News. Additionally, the YouTube accounts of notable journalists including Muneeb Farooq, Umar Cheema, Asma Shirazi, and Irshad Bhatti were also banned. Other affected channels include Uzair Cricket, The Pakistan Reference, Razi Naama, and Samaa Sports. Collectively, these channels had amassed 63 million subscribers. Government sources stated that the banned channels were circulating provocative and communally charged content, as well as false narratives and misinformation aimed at India, its armed forces, and security agencies. Turkey Sends Combat Equipment To Pakistan Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions After Pahalgam Attack [OneIndia] Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, Turkey has shown its support for Islamabad by sending combat equipment. A Turkish Air Force C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft arrived in Karachi on Sunday, carrying military supplies. Sources indicate that this move forms part of broader defence cooperation between the two nations. In addition to Karachi, up to six Turkish C-130 aircraft have reportedly landed at a military base in Islamabad, underlining Turkey's backing of Pakistan, particularly as Pakistan struggles to manage growing challenges along its international borders. Both Turkish and Pakistani sources have confirmed the transfer of military cargo, although precise details of the shipments have not been disclosed. Significantly, Turkey is standing by Pakistan at a time of heightened regional instability, especially in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and the renewed conflict between India and Pakistan over Kashmir. Turkey's military assistance complements similar support from China, which has reportedly supplied drones to enhance Pakistan's defensive capabilities. This strategic collaboration underscores the strengthening defence ties among Turkey, Pakistan, and China. Analysts monitoring these developments suggest that these alliances are reshaping South Asia's geopolitical landscape, particularly as military activity across the region continues to intensify. For Pakistan, which is currently mobilising resources along its borders, the arrival of this military equipment is seen as crucial reinforcement amid mounting threats. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has activated several key air bases - including Pensi, Skardu, and Swat - in response to rising regional tensions with India. Fighter jets including F-16s, J-10s, and JF-17s have been deployed at these bases, with combat air patrols (CAP) already underway. This initiative is part of the PAF's broader strategy to bolster its defensive capabilities and ensure swift response readiness. It is noteworthy that Skardu airbase has been upgraded to serve as a critical hub, supporting Pakistan's fighter aircraft in air defence operations, surveillance, and combat readiness. |

Pakistani Troops Violate Ceasefire For Fourth Night Amid Rising Tensions After Pahalgam Attack |
2025-04-28 |
[OneIndia] Pakistani troops engaged in unprovoked firing, breaching the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir for the fourth consecutive night, officials reported this morning. "During the night of April 27-28, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in areas opposite Kupwara and Poonch districts," the Indian Army stated, adding that they responded "swiftly and effectively". This marked the first instance of the Pakistan Army violating the ceasefire in the Poonch sector. The exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces followed the death of 26 individuals in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last Tuesday. Ties between India and Pakistan have deteriorated further after the involvement of a terror group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba came to light in the Pahalgam attack - the deadliest in Jammu and Kashmir since the Pulwama incident. |

2025-04-23 | ||
[CBS] New Delhi — At least 20 tourists were killed and many others injured Tuesday when suspected militants opened fire on civilians in Indian-controlled Kashmir, according to reports on Indian and international media. Many outlets, including the French news agency AFP, cited unnamed security officials who put the death toll as high as 24, but there was no immediate confirmation on casualties from authorities. Two senior police officers, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press at least 20 bodies had been recovered after multiple gunmen fired at dozens of tourists from close range Tuesday. The officers said at least three dozen others were injured, with many in serious condition. The attack took place in South Kashmir's Pahalgam area, a scenic destination dotted with meadows and glaciers that attracts hundreds of thousands of Indian and foreign tourists every summer. That tourist traffic has increased over the last year, as militant violence in the wider Kashmir region, which is disputed between India and neighboring Pakistan, has waned. People injured in Tuesday's attack were taken to nearby hospitals. Police, army and paramilitary forces launched a search operation to find those responsible for the attack. More from regnum.ru with an updated casualty toll Terrorists shoot dead 28 tourists in India At least 28 people were killed in a shooting in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in northern India. Terrorists opened fire on vacationing tourists on April 22, News18 TV channel reported, citing police sources. "A senior intelligence source confirmed that 28 people, including foreign nationals, were killed and several were injured in the attack," the journalists noted. According to eyewitnesses, two or three armed men in military uniform opened fire indiscriminately, causing fear and confusion among the vacationing tourists. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Indian President Droupadhi Murmu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the terrorist attack near the city of Pahalgam. According to Putin, this brutal crime cannot have any justification. The Russian leader confirmed his readiness to further increase cooperation with Indian partners in the fight against all forms and manifestations of terrorism.
The 26 dead included two foreigners and two locals, a high ranking official said without getting into details. Baisaran, about six kilometres from the resort town of Pahalgam, is an expansive meadow ringed by dense pine forests and mountains and a favourite with visitors from across the country and the world. Armed terrorists came into the grassland, dubbed 'mini Switzerland', and started firing at tourists milling around eateries, taking pony rides or just picnicking, officials and eyewitnesses said. Who is The Resistance Front (TRF)? The Proxy Lashkar Terror Group Behind the Pahalgam Bloodshed [OneIndia] A devastating terrorist attack happened near Pahalgam on April 22, resulting in the tragic loss of 26 lives, including two foreign nationals, and leaving several others injured. This assault unfolded in Baisaran, a picturesque locality close to Pahalgam, around 1:30 pm. The Resistance Front (TRF), a militant faction, has claimed responsibility for this brutal act. TRF, recognised for its activities in Jammu and Kashmir, has been officially labeled as a terrorist entity by India. The origins of TRF trace back to 2019, following the Government's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Formed by the ISI, Pakistan's intelligence agency, TRF was aimed at injecting a new dynamism into the terror landscape of Kashmir. This group differentiates itself with a more local and less overtly religious facade, positioning its narrative within the broader Kashmiri autonomy movement. Despite this, TRF has been implicated in several attacks targeting civilians, including members of the Kashmiri Pandit and Sikh communities, as well as security forces. TRF'S PROPAGANDA AND RECRUITMENT THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA: Since its inception, TRF has utilised social media platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp for propaganda and recruitment purposes. This strategy underscores its modern approach to spreading its ideology and enlarging its base. On April 1, 2020, The Resistance Front (TRF) gained significant attention following a four-day gun battle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara's Keran Sector. The clash resulted in the deaths of five Indian paracommandos and five TRF militants. The government, recognising the threat posed by TRF, banned the organisation under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Born on October 10, 1974, in Srinagar, Sheikh Sajjad Gul also known as Sheikh Sajjad, founder of TRF, was designated as a terrorist in 2022. Its founder asserts that the group opposes "local oppression" and maintains a stance of independence from Pakistan and the influence of Hafiz Saeed. TRF'S TARGETED VIOLENCE TRF attacks have primarily targeted Kashmiri Pandits, Hindus, Sikhs, and other civilians. Unlike other militant groups such as LeT and HM, who did not claim responsibility, it was TRF that took credit for these attacks. The Indian government has accused the group of engaging in various unlawful activities, including plotting attacks on both security forces and civilians, facilitating the movement of weapons for banned militant groups, recruiting militants, infiltrating across borders, and trafficking weapons and narcotics. One of the most notable incidents was TRF's claim of responsibility for an attack on security personnel in the Anantnag district, where they employed guerrilla warfare tactics. The attack was framed as an "act of revenge" for the killing of their leader, Commander Riyaz Ahmed, in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. According to 2022 data, out of the 172 terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir, 108 were linked to The Resistance Front. Additionally, statistics show that 74 out of 100 new recruits were brought into the fold by the TRF. The most recent major attack involving the TRF was the Ganderbal terror attack, where seven individuals were killed at a construction site in North Kashmir last year.

This incident marks the first infiltration attempt from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir this year. Infiltration activities typically decrease during the winter season due to harsh weather conditions, with a resurgence expected as the snow begins to melt and passes open up. General Officer Commanding (GoC) of 15 Corps, Rajiv Ghai, recently visited the LoC to assess the operational preparedness of the Army. The Army said that intermittent fire was also exchanged from Pak forward posts in the vicinity of the Line of Control (LoC) during the counter-infiltration operation. The successful foiling of the infiltration bid was the result of a joint operation led by the Army, which had received numerous intelligence inputs indicating plans of terrorist groups to infiltrate across the LoC in the Uri sector. Based on these inputs, the counter-infiltration grid was reviewed and strengthened. According to the Army’s statement, their ambushes detected a group of hard boyz moving towards the LoC in the early hours of Friday. The security forces tracked their movement and established contact, leading to a heavy exchange of fire. The operation resulted in the killing of two hard boyz and the recovery of two AK rifles, three magazines, four hand grenades, and ammunition, among other war-like stores. The Army emphasised that this infiltration bid by hard boyz highlights Pakistain’s desperation to disrupt peace in Kashmir, especially at a time when Lok Sabha elections are scheduled and the democratic process is underway. The operation’s success was attributed to the synergy between various security and intelligence agencies committed to ensuring peace and tranquillity in Kashmir. Oooooohhhh, synergy. Such a s3xy word, and all the rage in managerial circles these days…or at least some years back when I paid attention to such things. The Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency, where the incident took place, is slated to go to polls on May 20 in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.It is considered one of the most sensitive constituencies due to its proximity to Pakistain-Indian Kashmire (PoK), encompassing three districts of Kupwara, Bandipora, and Baramulla, all sharing a border with PoK. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region and the continued efforts of anti-India elements to disrupt peace in Kashmir. Col Raghav Commanding Officer 8RR was briefing media persons about operation Kali wherein a major infiltration bid was foiled along LoC on November 15. The Army officer said that Operation Kaali, a joint effort between the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully thwarted an infiltration bid in the Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) on November 15. "This operation led to significant casualties among forces of Evil and the recovery of various warlike supplies," the Army Officer said. He said that Operation Kaali was initiated based on intelligence from our sources and the Srinagar bureau. Upon receiving intelligence, the Indian Army strengthened its counter-infiltration and surveillance grids in the area. "Joint operation parties were deployed, and in the early hours of November 15, our surveillance tracked the movement of forces of Evil across the LoC," he said The Army Officer said that upon infiltrating, the forces of Evil were engaged, leading to a exchange of gunfire. "Following the exchange, a detailed search of the area revealed numerous terrorist casualties, though the exact number remains unconfirmed due to the proximity to the LoC," he said. The officer said two bodies were recovered, along with warlike stores, including AK series rifles, two pistols, few Chinese grenades, ammunition, medical supplies, eatables, Pak currency, and identification papers. "A significant outcome of the operation was the elimination of Bashir Ahmad Malik and his He said Malik, a prominent figure in cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, served as a launch commander aiding infiltrations for the past three decades. "He played a key role in facilitating infiltrations across the LoC, resulting in the loss of numerous Indian lives, including those of the armed forces. "There is a constant endeavour to disrupt peace in Jammu and Kashmir but our alert security forces have thwarted every such attempt, improving the security situation. As a result, development and tourism have gained pace in recent times," he said. Maj Gen Kalia said that warlike stores including five AK series rifles and narcotics were also recovered from the killed terrorists. "Following a specific input generated by J&K Police in Kupwara regarding an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army’s 56 RR and J&K Police in Machil sector along the LoC. Multiple ambushes were laid by the security forces. A group of five hard boyz while taking advantage of dense forests infiltrated to this side on Thursday but were intercepted by the ambush teams, ensuing an encounter which led to the killing of five heavily armed foreign terrorists," he said. "In Machil, ’Operation Shikanja’ coincides with the momentous date in 1947 when Indian Army led by the infantry landed in Srinagar to protect men, women, and children of Kashmir from the invaders who came from Pakistain." Addressing the media persons, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kupwara, YougalManhas said that following the credible information of a possible infiltration bid in the Machil sector, the concerned Army unit was taken onboard and multiple ambushes were laid on the expected routes. [GreaterKashmir ![]() Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... ] An infiltration bid made by holy warriors along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was foiled and two bad boyz were potted. The Srinagar-based defence front man said that based on specific intelligence inputs from various agencies, including Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces were alerted to the likelihood of a major infiltration attempt in the Uri sector. "This involved a group of heavily armed holy warriors attempting to cross the LoC," he said. The spokesperson said that taking advantage of the inclement weather, characterised by incessant rainfall and poor visibility, the holy warriors made their move. "At approximately 3 pm on October 21, the alert troops intercepted the group, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire. The intense firefight continued until nightfall, resulting in the killing of two holy warriors while the remaining holy warriors withdrew to the other side of the LoC, carrying the bodies of the dead terrorists," the front man said. He said that the area remained under constant surveillance throughout the night. "On the following day, a thorough search of the incident site was conducted, which revealed significant evidence and the recovery of a cache of heavy weaponry, including two AK series rifles, six pistols, four Chinese grenades, blankets, and two blood-stained bags containing Pak and Indian currency notes, Pak medicines, and food items," the front man said. He said that the recovery of two blood-stained bags indicates that at least two holy warriors were seriously injured, compelling them to abandon their supplies and retreat across the LoC. "Due to challenging weather conditions, the search operation had to be temporarily suspended and will resume when conditions improve," the front man said. With the successful thwarting of the latest infiltration bid by foreign terrorists, the tally of infiltration attempts foiled along the LoC in north Kashmir over the last five months now stands at six. The security forces have thwarted six infiltration attempts along the LoC in the north Kashmir districts over the last five months. As per the official data, these operations have resulted in the killing of 14 foreign holy warriors including the killing of two holy warriors on October 21, who were attempting to infiltrate on to this side of the LoC.
