At least seven troops martyred in IED blast in Balochistan's Mach
2025-05-07
[GEO.TV] At least seven security personnel were martyred in an improvised bomb (IED) blast in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
's Mach district on Tuesday, according to the military's media wing.

A blurb from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the bandidos Lions of Islam belonging to Indian proxy Baloch Liberation Army targeted security forces' vehicle with IED in general area Mach of Kachhi District.

The ISPR said 42-year-old Subedar Umar Farooq from Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

, 28-year-old Naik Asif Khan from Karak, 28-year-old Naik Mashkoor Ali from Orakzai, 26-year-old Sepoy Tariq Nawaz from Lakki Marwat, 28-year-old Sepoy Wajid Ahmed Faiz from Bagh, 22-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Asim from Karak and 28-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Kashif Khan from Kohat ''made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom''.

It added that sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any bandidos Lions of Islam present in the area. The ISPR said the perpetrators of the ''heinous act'' would be brought to justice.

"Security forces of Pakistain, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," it added.

The ISPR concluded by saying that nefarious designs of India and its proxies operating on Pak soil would be defeated by the valiant security forces, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and the brave nation of Pakistain.

The attack came amid standoff with India following attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's (IIOJK) Pahalgam area, which claimed lives of 26 people.

New Delhi linked Islamabad to the attack without offering any evidence and took a flurry of punitive measures to downgrade ties, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, revoking visas of Paks, and closing Wagah-Attari border crossing, among others.

Islamabad, in response, ordered the expulsion of Indian diplomats and military advisers, cancelling visas for Indian nationals, with the exception of Sikh pilgrims, and closing the main border crossing from its side.

Rival Kurram tribes agree to ''indefinite ceasefire'' after deadly clashes
2024-12-08
[GEO.TV] In a major development, rival tribes in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram district have finally agreed to an ''indefinite ceasefire'' after deadly festivities that claimed at least 133 lives, announced the Kohat Region Commissioner on Friday.

The development came following a grand Jirga, organised to ensure sustainable peace in the restive territory, under the chairmanship of the Kohat region commissioner.

The jirga was attended by over 100 individuals, including elders, from the rival tribes.

The recent episode of festivities triggered by ambush on two separate convoys under police escort, resulting in 52 deaths on November 21. Subsequently, festivities between the warring clans escalated despite efforts to broker a ceasefire.

The violence claimed at least 133 lives and injured 186 others, in total.

In a statement issued today, the commissioner said: "Tribal elders from both sides have agreed on an indefinite ceasefire," adding that the parties have expressed resolved to "sit together" to establish lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth ordered the entire 614th quadrant searched. The Green Lensman must be found!...
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur hailed the peace efforts of the grand jirga and met the members of the body, said adviser to KP Chief Minister on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif quoting the provincial chief executive.

''Over 100 people from both sides attended the jirga,'' he said, adding that it was decided that firing posts would be vacated until the final decision of the jirga.

Truce brokered in Kurram, says DC as tribal clashes claim 130 lives so far
2024-12-02
[GEO.TV] Amid the government's efforts to ease tensions in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram district, a ceasefire was finally reached between two warring tribes in the restive district, the Deputy Commissioner confirmed on Sunday as the corpse count in deadly festivities surged to 130.

"Armed rustics were removed from the firing posts while police and forces have been deployed [in the region]," the DC said in a statement without divulging details.

The latest spell of violence, which continued for the 11th consecutive day, has claimed at least 130 lives and injured 186 others as six more individuals bit the dust and eight others sustained injuries in the overnight firing.
The question is merely which group of Sunnis went after the Shiite Hazeras — Pak Taliban, Afghan Taliban, ISIS, their civilian neighbours on a tear? So many possibilities, so little information.
The recent episode of festivities began eight days ago with ambushes on two separate convoys under police escort, resulting in 52 deaths on November 21. Since then, violence between the warring clans has escalated, with police struggling to maintain control.

The Kurram region is facing a communication blackout, with mobile and internet services suspended and educational institutions closed.

The closure of the main highway has not only disrupted local transportation but also caused a complete suspension of trade with Afghanistan, particularly at the Kharlachi border.

A 10-day truce was brokered earlier this week, but intermittent violence has rendered it ineffective.

In the statement issued today, the deputy commissioner said that the jirga participants would "speak to elders to reopen roads and sign a peace agreement."

Furthermore, the official said, Kohat Division elders and parliamentarians would visit Kurram district to ensure a peace agreement between the warring tribes.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistain recorded 79 deaths in the region between July and October this year, highlighting the persistent instability.

virus cases recorded in Pakistain this year climbed to 24 on Saturday after a two-and-a-half-year-old child from Sindh's Hyderabad was diagnosed with the virus.

The latest case in Hyderabad takes the province's total number of children affected by the current poliovirus outbreak to five.

The latest polio case comes a day after authorities had confirmed that a 10-month-old baby girl in district Kohat of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was diagnosed with the virus, marking the northwestern province's second case this year.

The infant from Tehsil Darra Adamkhel had contracted the wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) that left her paralysed on September 12.

Four security personnel martyred in Peshawar IBO
2024-07-11
[GEO.TV] Four security personnel were martyred during a joint intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Peshawar on Wednesday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

On the reported presence of a high-profile terrorist, the action was jointly carried out by the personnel of the security forces and KP police in the Hassan Khel area today, the military's media wing said.

The joint IBO witnessed an intense exchange of fire in which three terrorists, including a high-value target — terrorist commander Abdul Raheem — were killed.

The security personnel also recovered weapons and ammunition from the possession of the slain terrorists, the ISPR added.

Raheem was highly wanted by the law enforcement agencies, who had a head money of Rs6 million fixed on him by the government.

The killed terrorist commander was also responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hussain Jehangir Shaheed and Havildar Shafiq Ullah Shaheed on May 26, 2024, the military’s media wing said, adding: “Today’s operation has avenged the heinous act and has brought the main perpetrator to justice.”

However,

's Gadap Town, increasing the number of cases this year to six in Pakistain, The News reported citing health officials on Sunday.

"A 31-month-old boy has been affected by Wild Poliovirus 1 in the notorious UC-4 Gujro, Gadap Town in District East Karachi. It is the 5th polio case of 2023 in Pakistain and the 2nd case in Karachi," an official of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Sindh said.

The official maintained that the latest polio case had been reported from the same area in Gadap Town where the fourth polio case of the year was reported last month. He added that the fifth child who has been affected by the polio is an Afghan national.

"This child had received three doses of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) as per routine immunisation, two shots of intravenous polio vaccine (IPV) while the child has also received OPV doses on more than seven occasions," the official claimed citing the initial investigation of the case.

He maintained that genetic sequencing of the isolated virus was under way but no travel history of the child had emerged. He added that an intensive investigation had been launched to ascertain the circumstances that led to a resurgence of the poliovirus in Karachi.

It is worth mentioning here that most of the polio cases in Karachi have been reported from the same UC-4 Gujro, Gadap Town, which has been a hub of Afghan nationals who regularly travel to their native areas in Afghanistan from there.

The UC is also known for its refusal of polio vaccination during anti-polio campaigns.

On Thursday, it was reported that Type-1 Wild Poliovirus (WPV1) was detected in nine environmental samples that were collected in October. Four of those samples were collected from Karachi, two from Chaman and one each from Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

According to officials, the total number of polio cases in Pakistain in 2023 has reached five while the new detections have taken the total number of positive environmental (sewage) samples in the country in 2023 to 64.
