[Whatfinger] Biden admin hid 2,000 US troops in Syria—DOUBLE what they claimed. Pentagon’s excuse? Called 1,100 soldiers "temporary" to cook the books. Now troops face ISIS surge & strikes while D.C. bureaucrats play shell games with their lives. Having 2k soldiers over there is a powder keg. I’m not so sure someone doesn’t want something to happen to them knowing how our President would respond and try to bog him down. The amount of things thing man has faced as impediments even right before taking office and now that he is in office is absurd. — Johnny St Pete Why did the Biden Admin lie about US troop numbers in Syria? We have 2,000 American soldiers in harm’s way as human shields as Syria descends into blood chaos |

Joy Reid has been fired |
2025-02-24 |
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]
MSNBC is pulling the plug on Joy Reid’s show, "The ReidOut," as part of a major shakeup, Fox News Digital has learned—and I can’t stop laughing. Honestly, there’s no one more deserving of cancellation. Well, maybe Rachel Maddow... and pretty much everyone else at MSNBC. According to the report, "The ReidOut" has been struggling to hold viewers, averaging just 973,000 in February 2025—a sharp 28% drop from the 1.3 million it pulled in during the same month last year. Reid has become notorious for her relentless anti-Trump rhetoric and a string of controversial moments. After the November election, Reid claimed that black women had lost interest in "saving America," blaming their supposed disillusionment on white female voters, who turned out in stronger-than-expected numbers for President Trump. Just last month, she went even further, outrageously comparing Trump’s immigration policies—and his presidency as a whole—to Hitler ![]() ’s Germany and the Holocaust. One of the most shocking events in recent media history came in 2018 when Reid famously claimed that homophobic comments on her old blog, "The Reid Report," were not written by her in a story that stunned the TV news industry. She blamed hackers and claimed to enlist the FBI to investigate her implausible claim, but she became emotional on air when her story fell apart. The MSNBC host then admitted it was unlikely she was hacked, but claimed that she didn’t recall making the offensive remarks, for which she apologized anyway. The bizarre ordeal made her a punchline to many, but she continued to rise up MSNBC’s ranks and emerged as one of the network’s most prominent liberal pundits. But, don't think that just because they’re letting Reid go means they’re replacing her with a more sensible choice. In fact, Reid’s 7 p.m. slot will be taken over by a trio that sounds like the setup to a bad joke: Symone Sanders-Townsend, a former spokesperson for Kamala Harris once a marijuana-busting Caliphornia DA ; Alicia Menendez, daughter of the scandal-ridden ex-Senator Bob Menendez; and Michael Steele, the former RNC chair who’s now an MSNBC regular, and sounds more like a Democrat than Republican these days. According to a source familiar with the plans, Reid will sign off from "The ReidOut" for the last time this week. Hurricane Helene kills multiple workers at Tennessee plastics factory 'after bosses warned them not to leave' |
2024-10-02 |
[Daily Mail where America gets its news] Multiple employees inside a Tennessee plastic factory have died after being told by their bosses not to evacuate during Hurricane Helene, according to a worker. Impact Plastics in Erwin, Tennessee, confirmed that there had been fatalities at their plant after Friday's extreme weather - but haven't revealed how many people had been killed. Two people are said to have died, with up to five still missing. Employee Bertha Mendoza, 56, has since been confirmed as one of those who had died in the floods, according to a fundraising page. Alexa Peterson told NBC News that her father Johnny was among those who had died. She told the outlet she was seeking legal representation. Jacob Ingram, a mold changer at the company, told the Knoxville News Sentinel that as the flooding began, mangers told employees to move their cars but wouldn't let them leave. Ingram said: 'They should've evacuated when we got the flash flood warnings, and when they saw the parking lot. When we moved our cars, we should've evacuated then.' It emerges as the death toll from the brutal Hurricane which swept the southeast last week passed 150 people. Footage shared by Ingram on his social media shows dark brown muddy water running through the company's parking lot. Large pickup trucks can be seen bobbing up and down inside the fast flowing floodwaters. Among the worst-affected areas is the North Carolina city of Asheville, which sits in a valley and which has so-far seen around 50 people confirmed as dead. President Joe Biden was set to survey the devastation in the region Wednesday. Rescuers are still continuing their efforts to make contact with hundreds of people who are cut off by washed-out roads and downed communication lines. Images of the destruction caused by the hurricane reveal a wasteland of splintered houses, crushed cargo containers, mud-covered highways, and collapsed communication lines. Damage estimates ranged from $15billion to more than $100billion, insurers and forecasters said over the weekend, as water systems, communications and critical transportation routes were affected. Property damage and lost economic output will become clearer as officials assess the destruction. At a news conference on Tuesday, North Carolina governor Roy Cooper said: 'Communities were wiped off the map'. |

[NewsNationNow] The former leader of a Los Angeles street gang who made national headlines for ordering the murders of members of his own gang was killed in prison over the weekend. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, 47-year-old Ezequiel Romo was stabbed multiple times by three fellow inmates at Centinela State Prison in Imperial County Sunday evening. Cristian Moreno, 31, Johnny Garcia, 39, and Christian Hernandez, 41, are accused of attacking Romo with “inmate-manufactured” weapons in a dayroom at the prison. Guards issued verbal orders to break up the attack, but those orders were ignored, CDCR officials said, which resulted in multiple deployments of pepper spray to stop the violence. Romo was taken to an on-site medical facility and was pronounced dead hours later. Romo had been at Centinela since August 2023 after being sentenced in Los Angeles County to life in prison without the possibility of parole for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit other murders. According to a 2023 profile by the Los Angeles Times, Romo was the leader of the Blythe Street gang in Panorama City and was responsible for at least eight deaths after he ordered members of the gang to turn on one another, removing drug addicts, informants, rivals and other people whom he considered “dead weight” from the gang’s ranks.
In prison, he became a soldier of the Mexican Mafia prison gang and made plans to incorporate Blythe Street into the national crime syndicate upon his release. When he returned to Panorama City, he took over his old gang, ordered them to sell Mexican Mafia drugs and collect taxes on behalf of the criminal organization in hopes of raising his status. His return to the streets also led to him ordering the killings of members of his own gang. Described as a “micromanager” by the Times, Romo ordered hits on members of his gangs for minor infractions like getting an unsanctioned tattoo or getting high and not returning his calls. “And if you had something Romo wanted, like a kilogram of cocaine, why pay for it? His dealer got the same treatment: a bullet in the back,” the Times wrote. Romo would eventually be busted with drugs in his car and would be sentenced to prison where he would continue to run the gang from behind bars before returning to the streets again. He was ultimately linked to several murders committed by members of his gang and went to trial alongside them in 2023. Romo would be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after he was convicted of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and attempted conspiracy to commit second-degree murder. | |

Charlotte Shooter Had Been Charged 49 Times |
2024-05-01 |
[Newser] Killing of 4 officers was deadliest attack on US law enforcement since 2016 The man who killed four law enforcement officers and wounded four others in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday has been identified as Terry Clark Hughes Jr., a 39-year-old man with a long criminal history in the state. The Charlotte Observer reports that according to court records, Hughes had faced 49 criminal charges since 2001. His convictions include breaking and entering, reckless driving, eluding arrest, and illegally possessing a gun as a former felon. He spent time in prison in 2011 and 2013. Police say he opened fire on a US Marshals task force that was trying to serve a warrant for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigators said Tuesday that they are still working to determine the timeline of events and they are no longer sure there was a second shooter, the AP reports. They said an adult woman and a 17-year-old female who were in the home are cooperating and have not been charged. Earlier reports said the 17-year-old was a male Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said Hughes, who was killed in the shootout, fired at officers from the second floor of the home, the New York Times reports. "Even though officers were trying to take cover, they were at a disadvantage because the suspect was up at a higher level and they were returning fire from a lower position," Jennings said. He said at least 12 officers returned fire. He said an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and a 40-caliber handgun were found at the scene. |
