The Iranian FM's statement came during a joint presser with his counterpart, Pakistain's caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, during his Islamabad visit today.

officially resumed diplomatic ties following a brief strain, at least nine Pak citizens were killed and three sustained injuries in a firing incident near the Pak border in Iran, it emerged on Saturday.

As per Iranian media, nine "foreigners" were slain in an armed attack in the country's southeastern region near the border with Pakistain. The report also stated that "no group has grabbed credit" for the attack.

Two of the victims, who have been identified so far, were labourers hailing from Pakistain's Lodhran area as stated by their family, while five including two brothers belonged to Tehsil Alipur of Punjab's District Muzaffargarh.

"Zubair and his nephew had gone to Iran for labour," Geo News reported citing the family.

The two worked at an auto-repair workshop in Iran.

Earlier, Pak Ambassador to Iran Muhammad Muddasir Tipu, who landed in Iran's capital on Friday night, confirmed the shooting of nine Paks in a post on microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter.

Iran carried out a missile and drone attack on what it called "terrorist" targets in Pakistain on Tuesday night, with Pakistain in turn striking murderous Moslem targets inside Iran on Thursday.

14 soldiers martyred as terrorists attack security forces' vehicles in Gwadar

[GEO.TV] At least 14 soldiers were martyred when holy warriors attacked two vehicles carrying security forces in Gwadar, the military's media wing said Friday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement, said that the unfortunate incident occurred when the security convoy was moving from Pasni to Ormara in Gwadar district.

The military's wing added that a sanitisation operation was being carried out in the area and perpetrators of "this heinous act will be hunted down [and] brought to justice".

The ISPR mentioned that the security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of "our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve".

Interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani strongly condemned the terrorist attack.


"Such acts are utterly reprehensible. Our thoughts and prayers are with families of the martyred and injured. Pakistain stands resolute against terrorists," he said in a post on X.

According to the Paleostinian health ministry, at least 370 Paleostinians have been martyred, including 20 children, and nearly 2,000 maimed by Israeli air strikes in Gaza since Saturday.

Israeli forces battled holdout Hamas fighters and pounded targets in the Gaza Strip with the army saying tens of thousands of soldiers were deployed in southern desert regions near the coastal enclave, to rescue Israeli hostages and then evacuate the entire region within 24 hours.

Senior military officers were among those killed in fighting near Gaza, the Israeli military said.

'Concerned' Pakistain calls for ending hostilities
President Arif Alvi on Sunday condemned the brutalisation of Paleostinian rights.

Urging the international community to intervene, the president stressed the need to adhere to UN resolutions.

"Progress towards peace cannot materialise without condemnation of usurpation & brutalisation of Paleostinian rights & people by Israel [...] Time has come to move forward in line with UN resolutions. The international community can play a big role today towards world peace," Dr Alvi wrote on his X account.

[Dawn] Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani said on Sunday that there’s absolutely no move to recognise Israel and he did not meet his Israeli counterpart during the 78th UN General Assembly in New York this week.

Earlier this week, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen told Israeli journalists that during the UNGA he met leaders from several Moslem countries who had not recognised Israel yet.

He also suggested that "six or seven" Moslem nations were likely to normalise ties with Israel, following Soddy Arabia

Chitral attack ‘isolated incident’, not sanctioned by Afghan govt: FM Jilani

[Dawn] Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on Friday said this week’s terrorist attack on two military posts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Lower Chitral district was an "isolated incident" and not sanctioned by the interim Afghan government.

On Wednesday, at least four coppers embraced martyrdom while more than 16 fighters were killed as holy warriors’ attempts to enter Pakistain from Afghanistan were foiled by troops deployed along the border with Afghanistan.

Militants had attacked two security checkposts in the southern part of the district. The pre-dawn attack had targeted check posts in Astui Pass and Jinjiret Koh situated in the south of Lower Chitral, bordering the Afghan province of Nuristan. Astui Pass is located in the Bumburet Valley, one of the three valleys in southern Chitral where the Kalash community resides.

 Pakistain (TTP) had reportedly grabbed credit for the attack through its spokesperson, Mohammad Khorasani.

Commenting on the matter while responding to a question on rising terrorism in Pakistain emanating from Afghanistan, FM Jilani told Dawn.com: "It was an isolated incident and we don’t think it had their (Afghan government) sanction."

The foreign minister later reiterated his stance and said ongoing dialogue with the Afghan government on surging militancy was "very positive".
