Islamist Inmates Exempt From Dog Sniffing Searches, Union Boss Claims
2025-04-20 | |
[Breitbart] In the wake of the stabbing of multiple prison guards allegedly by the Manchester Arena terrorist, the head of the largest prison officers’ union revealed that the prison was barred from conducting searches with sniffer dogs on Muslim inmates. Earlier this month, four prison officers at His Majesty’s Prison Frankland were injured with boiling oil and a makeshift blade. ![]()
On Sunday, the national chair of the Prison Officers’ Association, Mark Fairhurst, claimed that Abedi and other Islamist inmates in Frankland were exempt from searches with trained K-9s on the order of the prison’s management committee, which sided with Muslim prisoners, who complained that contact with dogs went against their faith. “When it first opened, every prisoner housed on that unit was thoroughly searched on the unit, and when they left the unit and when they returned to the unit. On occasion, dogs were used,” he told The Sun. “The prisoners complained that it interfered with their religious beliefs. The management committee overruled the staff and removed the dogs from searching those prisoners.” “We appease these prisoners and pander to them. Why? Why are we so obsessed with upsetting prisoners, terrorist prisoners, whose sole purpose is to murder prison officers?” This critique was seconded by Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick, who said: “It’s pathetic if HMP Frankland has folded to Islamist prisoners and allowed them to circumvent security checks. “This would allow Islamist gangs to control prison wings across the country. Officers should not fear being labelled racist if they step in to restore order and control from radical Islamist prisoners.” According to the paper, unnamed sources within the Ministry of Justice denied that there had been any operational changes regarding the use of dogs in searches, including at the Falkland prison. Yet, in a statement which seemingly skirted an official denial, Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood said that the government will seek to “strengthen” the defences of prison staff and the public. She said that in the wake of the stabbing attack at Falkland, the “Prison Service will also conduct a snap review into whether protective body armour should be made available to front-line staff.” There have been increasing concerns about the Muslim prison population in Britain, which accounts for nearly a fifth of all prisoners despite Muslims only making up around 6 per cent of the country’s population per the latest census. A 2022 report on the growing influence of Muslim gangs in British prisons by anti-terrorism legislation reviewer Jonathan Hall KC found that such groups were “encouraged” to attack non-Muslim prisoners, as well as on prison staff. The report found that “self-styled emirs” used “enforcers” to exert control over areas of the prison and that there were failures to push back against this by authorities for fear of appearing racist. Dangerous terrorists to be sent straight to new high-risk prison wings under new Government rules |
2022-07-24 |
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
The Government is moving to expand the use of the units – known as separation centres – and has now changed the rules so that prisoners can be referred to the wings immediately after being sentenced in court. Previously jail staff could apply to move extremists into the units as a last resort and only after spotting any tell-tale signs of radicalisation inside prison – even when a convicted terrorist has a long-documented history of preaching hate. Among those who have been held in the units are a high-explosives bomb expert, an Islamic State fighter, and reportedly Hashem Abedi, who organised and directed the Manchester Arena bomb attack which killed 22 people in 2017. Radical hate preacher Anjem Choudary, who was released in 2018, was one of the first prisoners to be held in the terror unit at HMP Frankland, near Durham. A second unit at HMP Woodhill, Milton Keynes, is now fully operational, and a third specialist terror wing at HMP Full Sutton, near York, is on standby. There are currently around 220 terrorist offenders in UK jails, with a similar number on an ‘at-risk’ radar over fears they could be radicalised, more than four-fifths of which are of Islamist ideology. |

[LIBYAREVIEW] The mother of the Manchester Arena jacket wallah received over £17,000 in benefits after leaving the country, the Daily Mail reported on Sunday. Despite returning to Libya in October 2016, Samia Tabbal

The Daily Mail added that official documents released to the Manchester Arena Inquiry disclose the 55-year-benefits old’s bonanza, which suggest she failed to notify HM Revenue & Customs that she was leaving the United Kingdom (UK).
The payments stopped nine days after the Arena incident, on May 31st, 2017. Tabbal’s debit card was used by her sons to buy components for the deadly bomb, according to a jury in the Old Bailey trial of Salman Abedi’s younger brother, ![]()
Hashem was convicted of 22 charges of murder and sentenced to at least 55 years in prison. There is no proof that Tabbal was aware of or participated in the Arena attack, but the investigation has heard that she voiced sympathy on Facebook for the Libyan February 17th Martyrs Brigade

The dossier of financial documents also show that Salman Abedi received £10,331 into two bank accounts between October 2016 and May 2017, including £4,263.08 from the Student Loans Company that he did not qualify for because he had quit his business studies course at Salford University. Two separate deposits totaling £3,200 were made by unknown sources into his RBS account in January 2017, shortly before the bank closed it over suspicions about fraud. Court Refuses to Grant Immunity to Manchester Arena Bomber's Brother

[LIBYAREVIEW] A court declined to grant the older brother of the Manchester Arena bomber immunity from prosecution if he testifies in front of a public inquiry, according to The Independent. Ismail Abedi denies knowing about or being involved in the attack on May 22nd, 2017, but has so far refused to participate with the investigation, citing legal privilege against self-incrimination.

Ismail Abedi requested that the public inquiry obtain assurance from the attorney general that any evidence he provides will not be used against him in future criminal cases. In his ruling, Sir John said allowing immunity to get Abedi to co-operate did not outweigh the potential effects on the administration of justice. "If as a result of an undertaking from the Attorney General, the applicant was to disclose material to the inquiry which provided evidence to justify charges of murder or conspiracy to murder, then he could avoid trial for 22 murders and causing serious injury to many more," he said. "While less serious, if he were to disclose material... which evidenced a failure by him to disclose information to the authorities which could have prevented the bombing happening, a failure to prosecute would be considered by many to be a considerable affront to justice." Abedi is expected to be served with a legal notice soon which will "require" his attendance in person at the inquiry and while he will be entitled not to answer questions on the grounds of self-incrimination, he will have to justify why and on what grounds he is refusing to answer. On Monday, Hashem Abedi,
Abedi, 23, made the admission in October, while in prison, as he was visited by two members of the public inquiry’s legal team, according to the Telegraph. He had previously pleaded not guilty "Wudn't me." earlier this year to 22 counts of murder, attempted murder, and plotting to cause a kaboom likely to endanger life. He did not give evidence at the Old Bailey but provided a prepared defence statement in which he denied involvement, claimed to have been "shocked" by what his brother had done, and said he did not hold holy warrior views. He went on to be convicted by a jury of all the offenses and was given 24 life sentences in August, with a minimum term of 55 years before being eligible for parole. On 22 October, Abedi was interviewed in prison where he admitted he played "a full and knowing part", the inquiry was told. Abedi had been in Libya at the time of the attack but was suspected by the police of having played an integral part in the planning and preparation of the bombing. He was eventually extradited by the authorities in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , despite denying any knowledge or involvement in the attack. His admission was confirmed by Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Barraclough of the Greater Manchester Police, who was the senior investigating officer in the attack probe. In a statement made to the police following his arrest, he insisted he had no involvement in his brother’s activities. He told officers, "During the last two years I have been held in Libya by a militia and subjected to torture. It has been a difficult time for me for a number of reasons." Manchester suicide bomber attended anti-Netanyahu protest 2 years earlier |

[IsraelTimes] Salman Abedi, who killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert in 2017, was already on MI5’s radar when he joined demo by Corbyn-backed group against London visit by Israeli PM. By your friends do we know you. Congrats, NeverNetanyahuers. Love what you’ve done with yourselves. The terrorist who killed 22 people in a suicide kaboom in the British city of Manchester in 2017 had attended a protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to London two years prior to the attack, the Daily Mail reported Friday.Salman Abedi attended the September 2015 protest organized by the Paleostine Solidarity Campaign, an organization backed by former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. There was no suggestion that Abedi was formally linked to either the PSC or Corbyn. According to the report, Abedi was among a group who traveled from Manchester to attend the Downing Street rally before moving to a second protest outside the United Arab Emirates embassy. The newspaper said the second protest was organized by a British group that supported a Libyan militia with ties to al-Qaeda’s Ansar al-Sharia ...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet... Two years later, inspired by Islamic State ![]() Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... , Abedi detonated explosives among crowds of mostly young people leaving an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena. A public inquiry heard last month that Abedi was associated with six MI5 "subjects of interest" and visited an incarcerated terrorist twice prior to the attack. According to the Guardian, Abedi had himself been made a "subject of interest," but his file was closed in July 2014 — a year before the anti-Netanyahu protest and three years before the Manchester attack. In August, Abedi’s brother Hashem, 23, was tossed in the calaboose Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! for life for playing an "integral part" in the attack. He was convicted of murder, attempted murder, and conspiring to cause explosions at a trial that ended in March. The court heard he was in Libya when the attack took place on May 22, 2017, but helped his brother plan it for several weeks, including by obtaining chemicals for the homemade bomb. Manchester suicide bomber’s brother snubs sentencing hearing |

[IsraelTimes] The brother of a jacket wallah who killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester in 2017 refuses to attend his sentencing hearing for murder. Golly. Such scorn for the kafirs who are not fit to lick his boots... but who will imprison him for his crimes as if they’re his equals in the sight of God anyway. And Allah won’t so much as twitch an eyebrow to save him. A jury finds Hashem Abedi, ...on occasion spelt Hashim al-Obeidi, the baby bro of ol’ Salman Abedi was arrested for cause in Tripoli, where he was pretending to have nothing to do with that messy nonsense back home... now 23, guilty of 22 counts of murder, attempted murder and conspiring to cause explosions at the gig in northwest England after a trial that ended in March. The attack, carried out by Salman Abedi, ...one of the more notable members of the Manchester Libyan jihadi crowd. The parental generation ties back to the al-Qaeda-aligned Libyan Islamic Fighting Group in the 1990s, while the kids pledged to the even more romantic ISIS. Not that it makes much difference in the end — the networks overlap personnel-wise, it’s just a matter of the name on the checking account paying their expenses... 22, inspired by the Islamic State![]() Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... jihadist group, was one of the deadliest terror attacks ever carried out in Britannia, and left more than 200 people injured. The defendant had sacked his legal team and refused to leave prison to attend the trial at the Central Criminal Court in London. Judge Jeremy Baker says although he had been brought to court as required for the two-day sentencing hearing, he had refused to come to the courtroom and still had no legal representation. "He has had every opportunity and has been encouraged to have legal representation. But he has made it clear and I am satisfied that he does not wish to be present at this hearing," he says. Family members of some of the victims and survivors are in court for the sentencing, which will determine how long Manchester-born Abedi spends in prison. Others are following proceedings via videolink in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. Judge Baker says he cannot be given a whole-life term — ensuring he would never be released — because he was under the age of 21 at the time of the offences. Hashem Abedi was in Libya when the attack took place at the Manchester Arena on the evening of May 22, 2017, but his trial showed he had helped his brother plan it for several months. He obtained chemicals for the homemade bomb, found an address to make and store it, and bought a car to transport the materials. Detectives who investigated the blast said both brothers were equally responsible and called them "proper jihadis." |

The blast on May 22, 2017 happened in a busy foyer of the venue in northwest England packed with men, women and children, and also injured more than 200 others. Opening the case at the Old Bailey in London, England’s central criminal court, prosecutor Duncan Penny said Hashem Abedi
“The prosecution’s case is that this defendant is just as guilty of the murder of the 22 people killed as was his brother,” he told the jury. “He is equally guilty of the attempted murder of many others and in doing so he was guilty of agreeing with his brother to cause an explosion or explosions of a nature likely to endanger life.” The court heard the attack was the result of months of planning, experimentation and preparation by the brothers. Hashem Abedi, now 22, allegedly obtained chemicals for a home-made bomb and got metal containers in order to construct it. He also found an address in Manchester to manufacture the explosive and store it and to have bought screws and nails for shrapnel, the court was told. He also purchased a car to store bomb-making equipment, it was alleged. “The bomb which was detonated was self-evidently designed to kill and maim as many people as possible,” said Penny. “It was packed with lethal shrapnel and it was detonated in the middle of a crowd in a very public area -- the intention being to kill and to inflict maximum damage.” The lawyer added: “Such was the ferocity of this explosion that Salman Abedi was dismembered in the process. “The scene that met the survivors and those that attended thereafter was one of destruction and chaos.” The court heard the Abedi family lived in south Manchester but the brothers’ parents returned to their native Libya in 2016. Hashem Abedi denies 22 counts of murder, attempted murder and conspiring to cause explosions. The case is expected to last for up to eight weeks.
