Schumer warns of bitter funding fight over GOP cuts plan
2025-07-09
[FOXNEWS] 'Bait and switch': Top Democrat warns of 'grave implications' as Senate Republicans consider Trump-backed $9.4B rescissions package

Senate Republicans are set to consider a multibillion-dollar package of cuts from the White House, but the top Senate Democrat warned that doing so could have consequences for a later government funding showdown.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., warned on Tuesday that the Senate GOP’s plan to move forward with a $9.4 billion rescissions package would have "grave implications" on Congress, particularly the forthcoming government funding fight in September.

"Republicans’ passage of this purely partisan proposal would be an affront to the bipartisan appropriations process," Schumer wrote in a letter to fellow Senate Democrats.

"That’s why a number of Senate Republicans know it is absurd for them to expect Democrats to act as business as usual and engage in a bipartisan appropriations process to fund the government, while they concurrently plot to pass a purely partisan rescissions bill to defund those same programs negotiated on a bipartisan basis behind the scenes," he continued.

The rescissions package, proposed by the Impoundment Control Act, allows the White House to request that Congress roll back congressionally appropriated funding. Such proposed cuts must be approved by both chambers within 45 days.

This package in particular, which narrowly squeaked through the House by a two-vote margin last month, would claw back $8.3 billion in funding for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and over $1 billion in cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the government-backed funding arm for NPR and PBS.

The package, informed heavily by the cuts proposed by President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, formerly helmed by tech billionaire Elon Musk, would only need to pass a simple majority in the upper chamber to pass.
Pass the cuts first. What happens later is a later problem — that’s how the Democrats do things.
Musk and DOGE made USAID a primary target of their hunt for waste, fraud and abuse within the federal government, dismantling much of the long-standing organization ahead of the rescission request.

The impending deadline to fund the government in September will either require the passage of a dozen appropriations bills – something Congress has not done in years – or the need to work with Democrats to crest the 60-vote threshold in the Senate.
I vote for the former. Do what it takes to get as much to the president for signature — making each piece real rather than a pious hope — as possible as quickly as possible
And the rescissions package is not wildly popular among Republicans.

Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins, R-Maine, said during a hearing on the package late last month that she was concerned about proposed cuts to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the CPB, and warned that cuts to the AIDS and HIV prevention program would be "extraordinarily ill-advised and shortsighted."

Schumer is no stranger to trying to leverage government funding fights to his advantage. Earlier this year, he withheld support for the House GOP-authored government funding extension before ultimately agreeing to the deal

That same scenario could play out once more come September.

"This is beyond a bait-and-switch – it is a bait-and-poison-to-kill," Schumer said. "Senate Republicans must reject this partisan path and instead work with Democrats on a bipartisan appropriations process."

Democrats call for violence to counter Trump agenda and tell lawmakers to prepare to 'get shot'
2025-07-08
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Democratic voters are asking their representatives to exhibit more violence while resisting Donald Trump's agenda - with some even suggesting lawmakers prepare to 'get shot.'

The party - reeling in the wake of Trump's November victory - heads toward the 2026 midterms with polls showing their own voters are unhappy with their performance.

Now, liberal politicians fear Trump haters are urging them to bend the law and even resort to violence in a desperate attempt to resist the president.

'Our own base is telling us that what we're doing is not good enough...there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public,' an anonymous Democrat lawmaker admitted.

The voters' solutions: follow Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver, who both put themselves in legal trouble to visit an ICE detention facility.

However, another anonymous liberal told Axios that even that wouldn't be enough, with one saying 'civility isn't working' and to man up for 'violence.'

'Some of them have suggested...what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.'

'The expectations aren't just unreal. They're dangerous,' said one more.

While House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is being savaged for poorly photoshopped promo pictures and even posting holding a baseball bat, some Dems worry there's nothing they can do to satiate their base, which they say is 'white, well-educated and live in upscale' neighborhoods.

'We've got people who are desperately wanting us to do something...no matter what we say, they want [more],' said Illinois Congressman Brad Schneider, who says he's desperately tried to beat back voters who want yet another impeachment of Trump.

One thing they hear consistently is that they want the Democrats to get down and dirty and try to beat what they see as Republicans' own game.

'This idea that we're going to save every norm and that we're not going to play [Republicans'] game...I don't think that's resonating with voters anymore,' another anonymous Congressmember said.

Another added that when voters 'who are angry don't accept that. They're angry beyond things,' with yet another comparing how they feel to 'the Roman Coliseum.'

Ro Khanna, a California Congressman who ranks as one of their more outspoken progressives, went against the grain, preaching the need for pragmatism.

'The most effective pushback to Trump's unconstitutional actions is to model a reverence for the Constitution and the rule of law,' he said.

The Democrats believe that their voters' attitude will keep Donald Trump in power.

Khanna added: 'Not only would that be a gift to Donald Trump, not only would it make the job of Republicans in Congress easier if we were all mired in legal troubles...[we are] a group that is disproportionately people of color, women, LGBTQ people — people who do not fare very well in prison.'

Just months ago, approval of the Democratic Party hit a brutal record low as Democrats are split over how to take on President Donald Trump in the first few months of his second term, new polling finds.

Among Americans overall, the Democratic Party's favorability rating stands at just 29 percent, CNN found.

It's the lowest favorability the party has seen since CNN first started conducting its polling back in 1992.

It's also a 20 point drop in approval since Trump left office more than four years ago at which time approval of the Democratic party was 49 percent.

It's also a ten point drop from just before the November election.

At the same time, a new NBC News poll released Sunday similarly found only 27 percent of voters had a positive view of the Democratic Party. That was the lowest positive rating in NBC News polling history dating back to 1990.

The CNN polling released in March was conducted just days before ten Senate Democrats joined with their Republican colleagues in a vote to advance a stopgap spending bill to avoid a government shutdown in a move that has deeply divided the party even further.

Some Democrats are now calling for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to step down as a Democratic Party leader while others have said he should be challenged when he's next up for reelection in 2028.

The record low approval of the Democratic Party has been driven by increased dissatisfaction from within, the CNN polling found.

Just 63 percent of Democrats or Democratic-leaning Independents had a favorable view of their own party, a drop from the 72 who had a favorable view of their party in January and 81 percent when President Biden took office.

Democrats are also torn over the direction of their party should take, the polling found.

Among Democratic-aligned adults, 52 percent said that the party leadership is taking the party in the wrong direction while 48 percent said they are taking the party in the right direction.

At the same time, a growing number of Democrats want the party leadership to do more to stop the Republican agenda as Trump barrels through the first two months of his second term.

The polling found 57 percent believe the party should do more to stop the GOP agenda while just 42 percent believe party leadership should work with Republicans.

CNN noted that is a dramatic shift from Democrats' views nearly eight years ago. A September 2017 poll from Trump's first term found 74 percent of Democrats believed their party should try to work with Republicans.

By The Numbers: Even CNN’s Expert Pollster Shocked By How Anti-Israel Dems Have Become
[DailyWire] "Oh my God! That is a change in the margin of 56 points over the course of just eight years."

Even CNN’s chief data analyst was shocked when he looked at polls showing the dramatic shift in support — or lack thereof — for Israel, particularly among younger Democrats, in less than a decade.

Harry Enten went over the numbers with CNN anchor Kate Bolduan on Wednesday morning, and he showed just how much the Democratic Party had changed with regard to support for Israel — and while he noted that the wildest swing was among Democrats under the age of 50, even those over 50 had made a sizable shift away from supporting the Jewish state.

How the Democrats Became the Party of Racists, Bigots, and Antisemites
[PJMedia] Today, the face of American antisemitism isn’t a cross-eyed Southerner with an unbranched family tree and chewing-tobacco stains on his David Allan Coe t-shirt. Nor does it include white hoods, blazing crucifixes, or the letter “K” in triplicate. (Sure, those guys still suck, but so did the Cossacks, and we don’t use them as the go-to cliché for Jew-hatred anymore. Get with the times, man.)

The pro-Palestinian protesters are the faces of today's antisemitism.

And they’re not welcome in the Republican Party. They’ve been spurned, exiled, and excommunicated since the 1960s, even when doing so carried political risk.

So the Democratic Party welcomed ‘em with open arms.

Joe Biden will likely go down in history as the last Democratic president who’s (marginally) more pro-Israel than pro-Palestinian. After all, this is what their base is demanding:

Younger Americans are more likely to sympathize with the Palestinian people than the Israeli people. A third of adults under 30 say their sympathies lie either entirely or mostly with the Palestinian people, while 14% say their sympathies lie entirely or mostly with the Israeli people. The rest say their sympathies lie equally with both, with neither or that they are not sure.

Older Americans, by comparison, are more likely to sympathize with Israelis than Palestinians. For example, among people ages 65 and older, 47% say their sympathies lie entirely or mostly with the Israeli people, while far fewer (9%) sympathize entirely or mostly with the Palestinians.

Among those under 30, however, there are wide partisan differences in views on this question and others. Republicans and Republican-leaning independents under 30 sympathize more with the Israelis than the Palestinians (28% vs. 12%). Democrats and Democratic leaners sympathize far more with the Palestinians than the Israelis (47% vs. 7%).

Older Americans side with Israel 47% to 9%, and younger Democrats side with the Palestinians 47% to 7%. The numbers are eerily symmetric, but in completely opposite directions.

Today, the “stock character” of an antisemitic, Jew-hating bigot is a liberal protester who cosplays with a keffiyeh. They’re usually young — often college-aged — and they’ve “studied” all the nuances of Middle East history through a rapid succession of TikTok videos. They’re smug and self-assured, entitled and aggressive.

And they DO NOT vote Republican!

Instead, they’re either voting for the Democratic candidate… or they don’t believe in democracy and just want to smash [expletive] up.

To them, Israel is an abomination — a vile, disgusting nation that doesn’t deserve to exist. They see it as a colonial, racist creation that has unfairly subjugated the proud, noble, peace-loving natives to the yoke of segregation.

If Israel were a Muslim nation, there’d be zero protests in American streets. Nobody cares when the conflict is between two Muslim nations; everyone rolls their eyes and shrugs their shoulders.

Furthermore, if Israel were a Chinese vassal, nobody would care either. (Plus, I’ll betcha that TikTok’s algorithm would be a helluva lot different.) You don’t see too many young people marching on behalf of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang, do you? And when was the last time someone other than Richard Gere gave a crap about Tibet?

The Democratic Party, in its madcap zeal to oppose all things Trumpian, has raced to the side of Hamas. Because of their dogged determination to view everything through the prism of racism — i.e., the 1619 Project — they’ve transformed their party into the vehicle of choice for crackpot racial theories, antisemitism, and historic grievances.

President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Exposes Democrat Lies, One Myth At A Time
2025-06-30
[American Liberty] President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) is not merely a piece of legislation. It is a rhetorical wrecking ball aimed squarely at Washington’s most sacred myths, many of them cultivated over decades of bipartisan complacency. Last night, as Senate Democrats took to the floor in a flurry of demagoguery and distortion, one could almost hear the tremble in the marble. Their panic was palpable, their arguments tired, and their relationship to the truth tenuous at best. So terrified are they of the bill’s popularity and substance that they’ve resorted to every delay tactic in the book. Most absurdly, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) forced Senate staff to read aloud the entire 900-page Big Beautiful Bill, an act of performative obstruction more befitting a satire than a serious legislative body. What unfolded was not a reasoned debate but a primal scream from a political class confronted by its own irrelevance.

NATO Bureaucrats in Panic: Trump Shows True Attitude to Ukraine and Europe
2025-06-26
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] The entire past week was spent in an atmosphere of foreign policy somersaults by the Donald Trump administration. Washington tried to implement its classic strategy of “escalate to de-escalate.”
Ooooohhhh, classic!
First, the White House sharply raised the stakes to the limit, practically bringing the situation to the brink of a nuclear conflict in the Middle East. And then, just as sharply, it lowered them, trying to enter into new negotiations. However, the results of this were perceived extremely contradictorily - both inside the US and outside of America.

Trump ran for office with the promise to stop all wars and go down in modern history as almost the main peacemaker.

In the first five months of his term, he failed to resolve the conflict in Ukraine or stop the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
I vote for arc lighting Gaza from south to north — that’ll get their attention.
At the same time, the US allowed itself to launch direct strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities for the first time. The risks were extremely high - but Trump was very lucky, and the world got off with a light scare. The Strait of Hormuz was not closed, and instead of a powerful strike on American bases, Iran responded symbolically.

Within the United States, the Iranian drama has caused a very powerful rift.

All the polls showed that the American public was against direct involvement in the conflict with Iran. For the first time, the broad MAGA coalition of Trump supporters, which had brought him to power, also experienced severe discord. Isolationists in both parties were furious, demanding that the president’s war powers be limited.
Sure, but that’s only 10% of Republicans. The Democrats have so many problems this practically doesn’t rate.
Trump's overall ratings have also begun to fall - they now average around 40%.
The questions must have been shaped as carefully as the demographics of those questioned, and just as far from matching reality.
This is much lower than what Joe Biden had at the beginning of summer 2021, for example.

The Middle East crisis has begun to directly influence electoral processes in America.

It was against this backdrop that the dramatic Democratic primaries for the New York City mayoral elections took place. They were sensationally won by a 33-year-old representative of the left faction of the Democratic Party named Zohran Mamdani. He is from a family of Indian Muslims. Mamdani ran on an anti-war and Israel-critical platform. He has a very good chance of becoming the next mayor of New York.

The 2026 midterm elections will see the left gain ground and elect many of its candidates to Congress. The isolationist faction within the Democratic camp will grow.

We are witnessing a process of elite change within the Democratic Party. Young left-wing politicians are replacing the old guard of centrist Democrats in the spirit of Biden, Nancy Pelosi, or Senate Caucus Leader Chuck Schumer, supporters of interventionism and foreign policy adventures.

De facto, this is the Republican equivalent of the MAGA revolution, only now it is affecting the Democrats. The division of America will clearly continue to intensify.
Perspicacious.
And in 2028, we may see two diametrically opposed views of the future of the United States.

One, very right-wing, could be articulated by Vice President J.D. Vance, a Trumpist. The other, far left, would be personified by the Democratic Party candidates.
By that point they may have given up the “Democratic Party” figleaf and gone straight to calling the party Democratic Socialists.
But they could agree on a common desire for isolationism.

Trump clearly feels the demand of American society, so it is extremely important for him to appear as a "peacemaker". Immediately after its attack on Iranian facilities, the White House declared victory and the complete destruction of Tehran's nuclear program. Washington began to call on the Iranians to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible, if only to avoid further escalation.

However, things did not go according to Trump's team's plan right away.

They had to enter into another clinch with the US intelligence community, which was extremely skeptical about the consequences of the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. They can be restored in literally a couple of months. There is no talk of complete destruction.

Trump critics in the US intelligence services will likely be fired in the near future.
One can only hope so.
But more and more inconvenient facts about the real consequences of the attack on Iran will likely emerge.

At the same time, things are not going well on the European track either.

The recent NATO summit in The Hague was once again held under the shadow of all the contradictions that have accumulated in relations between Europeans and Americans. Moreover, they have not been able to be resolved.

Tariff wars continue. On the issue of sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine, European countries are again isolated. The only thing they can offer the US is a promise to increase military spending at some point in the future.

However, the Americans do not really believe the unfounded assurances of their European NATO allies.
Some have been known to make promises they had no intention of keeping, just to shut us up…
Many of them still cannot even reach 2% of their GDP in defense budgets, let alone the 3.5% or 5% that is currently being discussed. This is an impossible task for almost everyone - with the possible exception of Poland alone.

The Europeans have to engage in outright eyewash. For example, they include everything in military spending, such as expenses on the green transition, the development of civilian infrastructure, or the fight against migrants.

Moreover, many European elites are now blackmailing the US with the opportunity to spend more money on developing their military-industrial complex as opposed to the American one.

This, too, is clearly not understood by Trump's team.

However, at the summit, NATO bureaucracy tried in every way to avoid all the pressing issues. Just to show some illusion of internal unity. Otherwise, the Americans could have announced a reduction of their presence in Europe right during the event.

The summit was kept as short as possible to avoid any reason to anger Trump.

The American president himself also benefited from maintaining his reputation as a "peacemaker", so he did not start any major squabbles with the Europeans at the summit. Even Trump's meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky was quite routine and orderly. However, there was no progress for the Ukrainian lobby here either.

No one made firm promises to allocate new tranches to Kyiv, they got away with general non-binding formulations. Trump directly stated that the scarce missiles for air defense systems are now more needed by Israel and America than by Ukraine.

The White House is not at all against doing something on the Ukrainian track after its Middle East somersaults. But Trump's team still can't quite figure out what to do.

The Americans are in no hurry to agree to Russia's conditions, or to soften sanctions. Washington does not yet have the political will to arrange a regime change in Kyiv and bring someone capable of reaching an agreement to power. Trump's team cannot and will not increase the degree of confrontation with Russia.

The result is a largely paradoxical situation of political paralysis.

Although the negotiation process on working and technical issues between Russia and the US is ongoing, partial normalization of the work of diplomatic services or the resumption of direct air traffic is possible.

But it is still unclear what could trigger the Trump team to seriously return to the topic of de-escalation in Ukraine. After all, the Americans showed with all their appearance at the NATO summit that they already have other issues on the agenda.

The main result of the last week is the shift of the White House's focus to problems outside Europe and Ukraine. Hence the poorly concealed panic of the NATO summit participants. After all, they understand that Trump's interest in dealing with their problems is decreasing with each passing day.

Even though the American president has agreed not to discredit Article 5 of the alliance charter on mutual assistance, Europeans subconsciously understand that US security guarantees are gradually dissolving into thin air.

Especially in the context of general global instability and division within America, which are diverting all the forces of Trump’s team.

"I think his statement is actually ridiculous."

She laid out exactly what happened from her perspective.

"This man burst into a room, started advancing towards the podium, interrupting an opening statement, elevating his voice, shouting questions."

"People tried to stop him from interrupting the press conference, he refused and continued to lunge towards the podium and that is when he was removed from the room."

all the Democrat media is trying as hard as possible to frame this as 'Senator put in handcuffs' etc. making Padilla the victim.

50,000 march in NYC’s annual Israel parade centered on the plight of the hostages
2025-05-19
Feel the love! It’s not New Amsterdam anymore. ;-)
[IsraelTimes] Israel Day on 5th, a significant yearly celebration for the region’s Jewish community, features ex-captives and state’s political leadership

Some spectators wept as former Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
hostages marched through New York City on Sunday, while others reached out to shake the ex-captives’ hands or chanted "Bring them home" for the Israelis remaining in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
The former captives and hostages’ families were the spiritual center of the city’s annual pro-Israel parade, called Israel Day on 5th, a major event for the Jewish community that was focused on the plight of the hostages for the second year.

During the march, tens of thousands march down Manhattan’s 5th Avenue, led by the state and city’s politicianship. Marching groups include Jewish nonprofits, non-Jewish allies, dancing troupes, identity groups such as Russian-speaking Jews, and thousands of children from Jewish day schools. Organizers estimated that 50,000 people participated in Sunday’s march.

At the head of the parade, former New York State Governor Andrew Sonny Cuomo marched alongside Jewish community leaders. Cuomo is the leading candidate to become the city’s next mayor and has made combating antisemitism and support for Israel a central part of his campaign.

New York’s politicianship has remained staunchly supportive of Israel despite tensions surrounding the war. New York State Governor Kathy Hochul marched alongside Ruby Chen, the father of Itay Chen, an American-Israel from New York who was killed on October 7 and whose body is held hostage by Hamas.

An array of city and state leaders also marched, including Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
, state Attorney General Letitia James, US Reps. Dan Goldman, Jerry Fester Bestertester Nadler
...the Dem New York representative-for-life who stepped whole from a Don Martin drawing in the pages of Mad® magazine, head of the House Judiciary Committee...
, Tom Lawler, Gregory Meeks and Grace Meng, and Sen. Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is NaN years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
Political leaders repeatedly brought up the hostages in speeches at the start of the march.

"We will not rest until these three words become a reality: Bring them home," Hochul said.

The New York branch of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum advocacy group led a group of hundreds who paraded with Israeli flags and a banner reading "Bring them all home now." Participants held signs that said "58," the number of hostages remaining in Gaza, and wore stickers with the number 590, the number of days they have been in captivity.

They chanted, "We will never stop, you are not alone," and, "Seal the deal."

Released hostage Ilana Gritzewsky and the family members of other hostages including Hagai Angrest, father of hostage Matan Angrest, and Yehuda and Yotam Cohen, father and brother of hostage Nimrod Cohen, were part of the delegation. Nimrod Cohen and Matan Angrest are two of the remaining soldiers held hostage in Gaza.

Gritzewsky, who recently received signs of life from her hostage partner Matan Zangauker, was at the front of the hostage forum bloc.

Standing next to her, Yehuda Cohen said that last week’s release of Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander, which was negotiated solely by the US, proved that the Israeli government does not care about the hostages, and is only interested in occupying Gaza.

"We hoped that Trump’s visit to Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
this week would yield something else, an end to the war and the return home of the hostages," he said.

"It’s more important to be here than to be in Israel," said Yotam Cohen. "There are more people paying attention here than in Jerusalem."

The hostage delegation at the parade was led by a float carrying released hostages Keith and Aviva Seigel, rescued captive Andrey Kozlov, and the family members of other hostages. Scott Stringer, a Jewish candidate for city mayor and former city comptroller, also marched with the group.

An additional Hostages Forum float in back of the marchers blasted the song, "Am Yisrael Chai," and last year’s Eurovision song, "Hurricane," as onlookers standing several rows deep echoed the call to bring them home.

Keith Siegel, who was freed in February 2025, said he cannot stress enough the horrendous conditions of captivity in Gaza, and noted that he personally knows four people still held in Gaza, mentioning brothers Ziv and Gali Berman, from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, by name.

"Aviva and I are on a mission and we’re doing whatever we can to get them home," he said. "We’re grateful for your support, it’s urgent."

Aviva Siegel, who was released from captivity in the November 2023 truce, thanked the crowd multiple times.

"Keith is home," she said. "I am the lucky one. I know what it feels like being held hostage in Gaza, touching death and being treated in such a brutal way."

Parade organizers also introduced Dani Miran, whose son Omri is still held hostage in Gaza. Delegations from Kibbutz Be’eri and Kibbutz Kfar Aza, two of the hardest-hit communities in the October 7 attack, marched near the start of the parade.

The march mostly retained its festive tone, with day school groups doing choreographed dances and costumed performers playing music.

The event took place under heavy police security. The NYPD used drones, helicopters, canine units and anti-terrorism officers to secure the parade’s route, and police intelligence specialists monitored security video and social media for potential threats.

The parade is a significant show of support for Israel in the city, and a moment of solidarity for the Jewish community, as Jewish New Yorkers continue to deal with the fallout from the October 2023 Hamas invasion of Israel.

The theme for this year was "Hatikvah," meaning "The hope" — the title of Israel’s national anthem.

There are near-daily anti-Israel protests on the city’s streets and college campuses, and the parade acts as a counterweight and a show of force in support of the Jewish state.

There did not appear to be any anti-Israel protesters along the parade route. Last year, a small group of demonstrators gathered on the sidelines of the march. This year, a handful of protesters were turned away from the parade route by coppers, and walked away chanting "Shame on you" at the police.

In addition to the protests, Jews in the city are targeted in hate crimes more than all other groups combined, and anti-Israel rhetoric is graffitied on the streets and rampant on social media.

The annual event is organized by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, with the support of the UJA-Federation of New York. Organizers strive to keep the march nonpolitical in tone.

The annual parade began in 1965 with an impromptu march by thousands of Zionist youth in support of Israel. JCRC-NY has managed the event since 2011.

When Joe Biden's Brain Melted on ‘The View,' Something Unexpected Happened: A Democratic Star Was Born
2025-05-11
[PJMedia] If you haven’t seen the video, it’s absolutely worth watching, because in a (slightly) different timeline — i.e. Biden’s presidential debate with Trump was scheduled closer to November (or canceled altogether) — and the Democrats were capable of keeping those 2020 COVID-era voting restrictions — there’s at least a 45% chance Joe Biden would’ve won a second term.

Seriously. Had he not been unmasked on national TV as an invalid, it’s revisionist history to assume that Biden was a no-hoper. Even after humiliating himself in his one and only debate (“We finally beat Medicare!”), he had a 58% approval rating after dropping out of the race, and trailed Trump by just one point (47% to 46%).

Donald Trump wasn’t the only one who dodged a bullet in 2024: our whole country did.

Because there’s just no way Joe Biden could’ve handled the rigors of the presidency for another term. He couldn’t even handle the yapping yentas on “The View”:

It was sad. At the 22:58 mark, Biden lacked the cognitive abilities to answer a question about his lack of cognitive abilities. So he rambled. And by the end of his rambling, disjointed response, it’s pretty clear he had forgotten what the original question was, so his wife jumped in and answered for him.

The contrast between the steady clarity of “Doctor” Jill Biden’s voice — and the ex-president’s raspy, meandering performance — was considerable. For all of Joe Biden’s shortcomings and limitations, there was a time when he was an above-average public speaker. He was never on-par with someone such as Ronald Reagan or Barack Obama, but he built his brand by looking, sounding, and playing the part of a liberal’s idea of a working-class hero.

That time is over. At this point, trotting him out on the public stage is borderline elder abuse.

The Dems' base isn’t just angry; they’re frickin’ apoplectic. We’re talking Worldbreaker Hulk levels of rage.

The Democrat who taps into this anger and becomes its “emotional avatar” will capture the heart of the party.

And that’s what was so intriguing about Joe Biden’s mental meltdown on “The View”: potentially, a brand-new star was born!

Unquestionably, liberal voters greatly preferred the Biden years to either Trump I or Trump II. Liberal longing will grow as Trump’s second term continues; absence, after all, makes the heart grow fonder. But it’s already at a fever-pitch: they’d sell their grandma to the Cossacks to return to the Biden days!

Question: If Biden is perceived as being a brain-dead, semi-animated automaton, who, then, deserved credit for all those wonderful successes? Who was actually running the show?

Answer: “Doctor” Jill Biden.

She’s still in her early 70s — which makes her a neophyte amongst her party’s geriatric giants, i.e. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Steny Hoyer, and Bernie Sanders.

By the way, she’s also a woman. That matters in the Democratic Party, because “personal identity” carries an outsized impact. She’s also a teacher; a profession liberals love and respect.

Her “caretaker role” makes her sympathetic — even to traditional voters. We all know spouses who care for their elderly, infirm partners. It’s heartbreaking. None of us know what goes on between the Bidens behind closed doors, but after nearly 50 years of marriage, most Americans would assume she’s a loyal, loving, compassionate spouse.

In the minds of liberals, those qualities would contrast quite splendidly against the mercurial madness of MAGA.

The biggest weakness of “Doctor” Jill Biden is her lack of experience, because she’s never held an elected office on her own. No matter: If she’s credited for being the “power behind the throne” during the Biden years, then clearly, she already has all the presidential experience she needs.

Potentially, she could offer a powerful message to liberals: if you long for the sanity and successes of the Biden administration, then “Doctor” Jill Biden is the perfect candidate.

To liberal ears, it’s a compelling pitch: all the stuff we liked about Biden, but none of that pesky senility.

Joe Biden has aged out; Hunter Biden simply isn’t electable. If the Biden family needs a new acolyte — someone who keeps those donor dollars rolling in — Jill Biden is its best choice.

Don’t dismiss the personal profit motive. This is the Biden family we’re talking about!

If “Doctor” Jill Biden writes a memoir next year and goes on a book tour to Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, pay close attention. It could be the beginning of a far larger story.

And it all began this week on “The View.”

US Senate panel amends bill to state that criticism of Israeli gov’t is not antisemitism
2025-05-02
[IsraelTimes] Republican chair of committee charges that amendment led by Bernie Sanders, which passes 12-11 with help of GOP’s Rand Paul, ‘is an effort to kill’ Antisemitism Awareness Act

An amendment saying that criticism of the Israeli government is not antisemitic was added to the Antisemitism Awareness Act on Wednesday in a US Senate committee hearing.

The amendment was proposed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders

...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
, the Jewish progressive leader, and approved in a 12-11 vote in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

The committee adjourned before voting on the bill itself and another piece of legislation, the Protecting Students on Campus Act, which would require schools to share information about how students can file civil rights complaints through the Department of Education.

A date for the committee vote has not yet been announced. If passed by the HELP committee, the bill will move to the Senate floor for a final vote.

Sanders’ was one of seven amendments to be added to the bill, which would codify a widely adopted and controversial definition of antisemitism into US law. That definition, by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, has been adopted by hundreds of governmental bodies and other entities but has drawn criticism from the left because it defines some criticism of Israel as antisemitic.

"One can criticize the government of Israel for their policies without being antisemitic," said Sanders, the committee’s ranking member, during the hearing. "This amendment makes it clear that it is not antisemitic to oppose the Netanyahu-led war effort that has killed more than 50,000 people and maimed over 116,000, 60% of whom are women, children and the elderly."

All committee Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
and Senator Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, voted for Sanders’ amendment. Those opposed said that the amendment and others acted as a poison pill.

"Supporting these amendments is an effort to kill this bill, which protects Jewish students from antisemitic acts," said Senator Bill Cassidy, the Louisiana Republican who chairs the committee, during the meeting. "The bill includes protections for free speech, so let’s not be naive as to what’s taking place here."

In response, Sanders said, "Antisemitism is wrong. Authoritarianism is not the answer. That’s what we’re debating right now."

The Antisemitism Awareness Act was passed by the House last year but stalled in the Senate over concerns that it could punish political speech against Israel. Some Republicans, including Paul, have also criticized the IHRA definition because it identifies the belief that Jews killed Jesus as antisemitic.

"This bill would subject to punishment speech claiming that Jews killed Jesus," Paul said at the hearing.

He called the deicide charge "an absurd and insulting insinuation, if the argument is that all Jews are responsible for killing Jesus," but added, "and yet, the Gospel of John describes the trial and crucifixion of Jesus. It reports Jews present at the trial, including the high priest and crowd called for his crucifixion."

He continued, "Nobody thinks that’s all Jews, but you’re no longer allowed to read John 18 and 19. This is sort of insane."

Paul also said he opposed the bill over a litany of other concerns, including fears that it would target comedians. He invoked Jerry Seinfeld as an example.

"Have you guys ever listened to comedy? Do you know why Jerry Seinfeld won’t go to colleges because he can’t make any Jew jokes anymore, or Indian jokes, or whatever jokes. Jokes are about silly categorizations of people," said Rand.

He entered into the record a list of the names of 400 Jewish American comedians who he said have referred to Jews in stereotypical language, and who he says may be targeted by the bill.

Two other Sanders amendments were also approved by the committee, including one that states the federal government cannot compel schools to violate the First Amendment rights of a student or professor. The measure could impact the Trump administration’s crackdown on pro-Paleostinian student activists.

"We have already seen attack after attack on freedom of speech and right to dissent. This amendment defends the Constitution of the United States and our First Amendment," said Sanders. It passed in a vote of 13-10, with all Democrats as well as Paul and Senator Susan Collins, a Maine Republican, voting in favor.

Another Sanders amendment provided protection to students distributing written materials on campus, carrying out school-sanctioned protests, and engaging in "any speech that does not include true threats or incitement of violence," according to Jewish Insider. It was approved by all committee democrats, along with Paul and Collins.

A fourth amendment to the bill was proposed by Senator Ed Markey
...U.S. Representative-for-Life from Massachusetts, serving since 1976. He is a member of the Democratic Party, naturally....
, a Massachusetts Democrat, which opposed the Trump administration’s recent student visa revocations, as well as detainments and deportations of students and faculty at universities for activities protected under the First Amendment. It was approved by affirmative votes from all Democrats and Paul.

Progressive US Jewish organizations oppose controversial antisemitism bill

[IsraelTimes] As the US’s Antisemitism Awareness Act heads to a Senate committee for a crucial vote, 10 progressive Jewish organizations have signed a letter opposing the legislation for representing an endorsement of the Trump administration’s "efforts to weaponize antisemitism."

"Voting in favor of this legislation in this current political climate would represent an endorsement of the Trump administration’s escalating efforts to weaponize antisemitism as a pretext for undermining civil rights, deporting political dissidents, and attacking the fundamental pillars of our democracy, making the Jewish community and others less safe," Tuesday’s letter read.

Republicans, meanwhile, added language meant to tamp down concerns by some politicians that the act would criminalize some expressions of Christian doctrine.

The bill drew free-speech concerns from both sides of the aisle last year when it sailed through the House but stalled in the Senate. On the left, critics charged that the bill’s enshrining of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism could bar legitimate criticism of Israel. Some on the right, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, said they opposed the bill because IHRA identifies the belief that Jews killed Jesus as antisemitic.

Now, the bill has been reintroduced by a bipartisan coalition of senators, including Jews — and it faces a vote in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee Wednesday in a changed political climate. US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th and 47th President of the United States...
’s administration, installed in January, has taken aggressive actions that it says are meant to stop antisemitism, drawing criticism from many of the bill’s Democratic sponsors as a result.

US Senator Chuck Schumer'>Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is NaN years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
, who was the Senate majority leader until January, is a sponsor and made moving the bill forward a top priority in the last session of Congress. Schumer has since criticized Trump’s crackdown on campus antisemitism, signing a letter last week accusing his administration of using antisemitism as a "guise" to attack universities.

The 10 progressive Jewish organizations signing the letter opposing the Antisemitism Awareness Act are Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, Habonim Dror North America, Hashomer Hatzair USA, J Street, Jewish Community Action, New Israel Fund, New Jewish Narrative, New York Jewish Agenda, The Nexus Project, and T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights.

While progressive groups have been vocal critics of the Trump administration, the letter puts them in the position of also undercutting efforts by Democratic and Jewish politicians to take steps they say would protect Jews.

US defense secretary shared war plans with family in 2nd Signal chat — report
2025-04-21
Three questions:
1. Why does the New York Times have this information?
2. Is it true or is someone making things up again?
2.a. If false, is the New York Times lying or were they fed false information?
3. Only if it is true, what the heck, Secretary Hegseth!
The claim:
[IsraelTimes] Hegseth sent detailed info on upcoming military strikes on Yemen’s Houthis in a private group that included his wife, brother and lawyer, The New York Times says

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared details of a March attack on Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s Iran-aligned Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s before it took place in a message group that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, the New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported on Sunday, raising more questions about his use of an unclassified messaging system to share highly sensitive security details.

Hegseth allegedly shared the same details of the attack that were revealed last month by The Atlantic magazine after its editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was included in a separate chat on the Signal app by mistake, in an embarrassing incident involving all of President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
’s most senior national security officials.

That Signal chat saw officials including Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz discuss the coming strikes, which took place on March 15. Goldberg was exposed to discussions between the brass hats about the strikes, which he then reported on after the bombings went ahead.

The revelation sparked an uproar, with Trump’s administration facing a scandal over the accidental leak. A Pentagon Inspector-General’s probe into that leak is ongoing.

Trump largely pinned the blame for the earlier leak on Waltz, but dismissed calls to fire brass hats and insisted instead on what he called the success of the raids on the Yemeni rebels.

The Times, citing four sources familiar with the message group, said that the second chat included details of the schedule of the air strikes, similarly to the first chat reported on by The Atlantic.

The paper said the chat was created by Hegseth himself before he was confirmed as defense secretary, and included around a dozen people in his inner circle. He used his private phone to access it.

Hegseth’s wife, Jennifer, a former Fox News producer, has also reportedly attended sensitive meetings with foreign military counterparts, the Wall Street Journal has separately reported.

A source with knowledge of the matter told The Times that Hegseth was cautioned by aides in the days before the Yemen strikes to refrain from sharing delicate operational information in his Signal group chat.

Revelations of another use of Signal for classified information come as one of Hegseth’s leading advisers, Dan Caldwell, was escorted from the Pentagon last week after being identified during an investigation into leaks at the Department of Defense, a US official told Rooters.

Following Caldwell’s departure, less bigwigs Darin Selnick, who recently became Hegseth’s deputy chief of staff, and Colin Carroll, who was chief of staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg, were put on administrative leave, officials said.

The Senate’s top Democrat demanded that the defense secretary be dismissed over the blunders.

"We keep learning how Pete Hegseth put lives at risk," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 49.37455 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
said in a post to X. "But Trump is still too weak to fire him. Pete Hegseth must be fired."

The Trump administration has aggressively pursued leaks, an effort that has been enthusiastically embraced by Hegseth at the Pentagon.

The Pentagon was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
The White House did not immediately return a message.

The Day Before the Save Act Was Passed, Democrats Furious
2025-04-12
Ingrahm Angle 4/11/25, begins at 21 minutes and lasts 6.
[YouTube] Democrats are furious, and the piece starts with a clip of four unidentified congressmen on the floor on Thursday. The third is a gentleman who claims the Republicans don't want you vote, and in particular they don't want those that are a) married women, b) can't afford a passport and c) college students who've left their birth certificate at home.

A woman follows who actually looks to be the right size for her age, but unfortunately her face can't Save her. She says the bill is an anti-woman and democracy voter suppression bill cloaked in lies about election integrity.

Laura interviews NY congressman Mike Lawler, and starts with "Is your wife ok?" Mike says 4 Democrats voted for the bill including Henry Ouar (?) and that Democrats continue to demean all of these groups as too stupid to get an ID, and Chuck Schumer has said that they're going to kill it in the Senate.

A clip of Delia Ramirez (IL) is played, who is now identified as person #2 in the list above, and she tosses black, brown, veteran and working class Americans into the mix. Laura says the average cost of a REAL ID is $22.44, and they're using a scare tactic. Mike says the REAL ID act pas passed in 2005 for national security, and starting this year you'll need a REAL ID or a passport to get on a plane.

Laura ends with Democrats want illegals to vote or they won't ever win another election.

Clarice Feldman: GPS—7,498 mobile devices at protests
2025-04-07
[Facebook] Via @TonySeruga

Organizers are claiming 30,000. CBS states a vague ‘thousands’.

92% having attended 5 or more Kamala Harris rallies, antifa/blm, pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian protests.

For more insight into what data we also look at in addition to GPS location data would be demographic and psychographic data using over 6,000 different databases, i.e., like the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Pew Research Center, market research firms like YouGov, Experian, specialized tools like ESRI's Tapestry Segmentation, consumer surveys, social media platforms like ??, Facebook, Linkedin.

Demographic data includes basic characteristics like age, gender, income, education level, occupation, marital status, family size, ethnicity, and where people live (e.g., city, state).

Psychographic data dives deeper into people's lifestyles, values, attitudes, interests, personality traits, social class, activities, and how they make purchasing decisions. For example, it might show if someone values sustainability, enjoys outdoor activities, participates in community activism.

While demographic data is straightforward, psychographic data can reveal sensitive personal details, like beliefs even life goals.

Additionally, by cross pollinating each device with other devices regularly within close proximity to the target device we are able to build a detailed profile for each target.

We have identified these six groups.

Once again, this is based a very sophisticated algorithm that looks at the behavioral metrics for each device, including the physical 1:1 proximity to leaders and paymasters from these groups in the past.

Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, Troublemakers, the Democratic Socialists of America and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Disruption Project: Legal status is unclear, likely operating illegally.
Rise & Resist: 501c4 non-profit
Indivisible Project: 501c4 non-profit
Troublemakers: Legal status is for profit.
Democratic Socialists of America: 501c4 non-profit
Muslim Brotherhood: 501c4 non-profit

We have also identified 11 additional groups paying for protests, demonstrations and riots, many are linked to foreign bad actors in countries funding terrorism.

Far-left, billionaire-funded NGOs—closely aligned with the rudderless and imploding Democratic Party—have been waging a psychological warfare operation against the American people. Of Course They Are: Democrats Suing Trump for Trying to Prevent Non-Citizens From Voting — RedState
2025-04-03
[REDSTATE] The Democratic Party has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election. Then he beat Kamala while dodging bullets...
over an executive order designed to maintain integrity in federal elections.

Because, of course they are.

The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday, cites several plaintiffs, including most notably the Democratic National Committee (DNC (If you're white you ain't right!)
...Democrat National Committee, where all those off-the-wall talking points originate...
), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 49.32405 years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
(D-NY).

It's nice that Schumer and Jeffries got over their tiff long enough to join forces to stop the President from keeping non-citizens from voting.

"In the United States of America, the President does not get to dictate the rules of our elections," the court filing reads.

The suit's introduction goes on to suggest Trump was trying to "corrupt" the election process. Corrupting the process by ensuring only citizens vote. What a bizarre argument.

"The Framers of our federal Constitution foresaw that self-interested and self-aggrandizing leaders might seek to corrupt our democratic system of government to expand and preserve their own power," they write.

''Although the Order extensively reflects the President's personal grievances, conspiratorial beliefs, and election denialism, nowhere does it (nor could it) identify any legal authority he possesses to impose such sweeping changes upon how Americans vote," they added.

The lawsuit takes particular exception to the portion of Trump's executive order demanding proof of citizenship for registering to vote by mail.
