Hillary Clinton expected to grow her role backing Joe Biden's reelection efforts after hosting $1 million fundraiser at her Georgetown home |
2023-12-10 |
Halloween is over. The witch is back. [Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Hillary Clinton held a fundraiser for Joe Biden at her Georgetown estate as the failed 2016 Democratic candidate plans to step-up her role in getting the president reelected in 2024. Members of the Women's Leadership Forum gathered at Clinton's stately home in Washington, D.C. on November 27, according to a new NBC News report, and raised nearly $1 million for Biden's reelection campaign. Over the next year, Clinton's role is expected to grow and former President Barack Obama is expected to jump in later in the campaign. Clinton and Biden haven't always had the most close relationship. In 2016, Clinton pushed the outgoing vice president of running for president. After she failed to beat Donald Trump and Biden was successful in 2020, it took her until September this year to visit him at the White House. But Biden needs allies in the Democratic party as his age and fitness for office continues to raise concerns – and some voters are looking for alternatives in 2024. 'At the end of the day, Biden needs all the help that he can get,' a Democratic strategist told NBC. 'What he needs is both the spirit and the actual reality of unity.' Former President Bill and former first lady Hillary Clinton purchased the Georgetown estate, named Whitehaven, in 2000. The last Monday of November, Clinton hosted the fundraiser to help boost Biden's campaign. Her reemergence as a Biden ally shows a larger effort to deploy high-profile allies to Biden's reelection fight, two people familiar with the campaign said. Obama has appeared in some fundraising videos for Biden, but Democrats want a more visible role from the former president to give Biden a much-needed boost. Over the next year, Clinton's role will only grow in order to help fill the void left by Obama before he finally jumps head-first into the 2024 election. While Hillary Clinton was raising money for Biden in November, her husband was serving as Biden's surrogate during a lunch with Argentina's President-elect, Javier Milei, and former Sen. Chris Dodd, the president's special adviser for the Americas. Another Biden campaign co-chair has ties to Hunter, asked for his briefing ‘on the Ukraine' |
2023-06-09 |
[FoxNews] Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester reportedly launching Senate campaign this month in Delaware Democratic Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, one of the Biden campaign’s national co-chairs and a likely Senate candidate, thanked Hunter Biden in 2016 for his "generous contribution" to her campaign and asked if he could brief her "on the Ukraine," emails show. Blunt Rochester, who was named co-chair along with several others, including Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., previously served in the same role for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. She is expected to launch a run for the open Senate seat in Delaware this month, Politico reported. Fox News Digital previously reported that Hunter served as an outside adviser to Coons during his successful 2010 Senate bid, making Blunt Rochester at least the second campaign co-chair with ties to the embattled first son. Months before winning her election against Republican Hans Reigle, Blunt Rochester sent an email to Hunter thanking him for donating to her campaign. "I just told Brian that I saw your contribution online," she wrote Feb. 5, 2016. "I can't thank you enough. You know that it's not easy running for any office. It means a lot to have you on my team. "By the way, I'm sure Brian will tell you that I will be in DC next Tuesday and Wednesday." Ten days later, on the evening of Feb 15, 2016, Blunt Rochester thanked Hunter again for the donation and asked if he could brief her "on the Ukraine." Hunter made four donations to Blunt Rochester's campaign in 2016, totaling $3,000, according to FEC records. |

Biden's Cabinet: What a Hillary Clinton Administration Would Have Looked Like |
2020-11-30 |
[National Review] President-elect Joe Biden, with his first round of cabinet nominees and White House staff picks, has reassured his party’s moderate wing by drawing from the deep reservoir of Washington establishment types that he’s been surrounded by during his nearly five decades in government, rather than elevating more ideological upstarts. Biden appears to be prioritizing time spent in government service in his choices for the executive branch’s most powerful positions, prompting critics on the Right and, to a lesser extent, the far-left to suggest they will be liable to repeat the mistakes of past Democratic administrations. The nominees so far include familiar names from the Obama administration, including a number of prominent figures close to Hillary Clinton, who likely would have been appointed to senior positions had she won in 2016. John Kerry, former secretary of state and 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, will serve as special presidential envoy for climate, Biden announced on Monday. Kerry’s post, the first of its kind, will be housed within the National Security Council and will primarily involve conducting environmental diplomacy of the sort that President Trump decisively abandoned by withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accords. Biden nominated Jake Sullivan, previously a close aide to Hillary Clinton, as national-security adviser. Sullivan was implicated in the Clinton private email-server scandal and endorsed the contents of the infamous Steele dossier, which served as the basis for the FISA warrant to surveil Trump campaign advisers and has since been largely debunked. The former vice president has also named Obama administration and Biden campaign alumna Dana Remus as White House counsel, Jen O’Malley Dillon as White House deputy chief of staff, Mike Donilon and Steve Ricchetti as senior advisors to the president, Ron Klain as White House chief of staff, Avril Haines as director of national intelligence, and Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Karen Bass’s Long March from Communist Fringe to Biden’s VP Shortlist | |
2020-08-01 | |
[BREITBART] The Democrat’s presumptive nominee Joe Foreign Policy Whiz KidBiden ... I had the great honor of being arrested with our UN Ambassador on the streets of Soweto, trying to get to see him on Robbens Island... will name his running mate as early as next week, and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) is reportedly a top contender for job.The Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Democrat has emerged as the favorite pick of former Sen. Chris Dodd, who serves on Biden’s vice presidential search committee. According a source who spoke with Politico, Dodd has urged Biden to choose Bass because "she’s a loyal No. 2. And that’s what Biden really wants." On the surface, Bass’s background as a former medical professional and South Los Angeles community organizer make her an attractive candidate to serve at a time when public health and racial inequality are on the top of voters’ minds. Her resume bears the hallmarks of a rising political star, starting with her first foray into elected office 16 years ago, when she won a seat in the California State Assembly and later became the first Black woman in the country to serve as the speaker of a state legislature when she assumed the Speakership in 2008. Prior to this, Bass worked as a physician assistant and a left-wing community activist who founded a non-profit in the 1990s called the Community Coalition. She made headlines after the 1992 L.A. riots for her fight to prevent liquor stores from being rebuilt in the neighborhoods destroyed by the uprising. In 2010, Bass won her U.S. House seat, where her voting record has been typical of a progressive member of a Democratic Party ![]() white peopleyou're listening to a Democrat... increasingly embracing socialism. However, Switzerland makes more than cheese... a deep dive into Bass’s background reveals that her influences were not just socialist, but hardcore communist. The VP vetting process brought renewed scrutiny to comments Bass made about Cuba’s communist dictator Fidel Castro. In a statement following Castro’s death in 2016, Bass referred to him as "Comandante en Jefe" and described his death as "a great loss to the people of Cuba." The honorific "Commandante en Jefe"—which translates to "commander in chief"—was criticized by Florida Democrats for being excessively deferential to a dictator with a long history of human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... abuses. In an interview with MSNBC on Sunday, Bass attempted to walk back her use of the term. "I have talked to my colleagues in the House about that, and it’s certainly something that I would not say again," Bass said. "I have always supported the Cuban people, and the relationship that Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... and Biden had in their administration in terms of opening up relations.”

Biden: Gender confirmation surgery is ‘medically necessary' |
2020-05-08 |
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] Joe Foreign Policy Whiz KidBiden ![]() We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing... said sex-change surgery is medically necessary for transgender people while pushing for changes that would require insurers to cover such procedures. The former vice president and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee made the assertion during a Wednesday virtual event with the Human Rights Campaign. He received a question on how he would ensure gay and transgender people have access to affordable healthcare. "As president, I'm going to protect and build on Obamacare ...aka the Affordable Care Act, an ineptly designed and worse executed piece of legislation designed to bring 17 percent of the U.S. economy under the direct control of the government. The previous iteration, known as Hillarycare, was laughed out of Washington. This stinker was passed on a party-line vote without being read... with a public option. That's the fastest way to get to universal coverage. Reverse Trump's actions and restore Obamacare protections for LGBTQ Americans. And cover PrEP [pre-exposure prophylaxis] so that people at high risk of getting HIV and AIDS, HIV/AIDS, do have — don't have to choose between covering their rent and staying alive," he said. Biden then made a point about surgery for transgender people. "And make sure insurance companies treat gender confirmation surgery as a medical necessary, which it is," Biden said. He noted that the Affordable Care Act prevented insurers from charging individuals more based on sexual orientation. "Trump has been trying to gut these protections since he took office," Biden said. "Anyone involved in patient care, from the board of directors to a receptionist in charge of scheduling, could put their beliefs above your healthcare." Biden's campaign plan for helping gay and transgender people states that he aims to "ensure coverage for comprehensive care for LGBTQ+ Americans," including by "covering care related to transitioning — including gender confirmation surgery." The Human Rights Campaign, a leading organization pushing for expanding gay and transgender rights, endorsed Biden on Wednesday, which marked the eight-year anniversary of Biden coming out in support of same-sex marriage before former President Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... did in a Meet the Press interview. "His dedication to advancing LGBTQ equality, even when it was unpopular to do so, has pushed our country and our movement forward," Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David said in a statement. Chris Dodd: These anti-SOPA websites are abusing their power |
2012-01-18 |
![]() Link Updated Oh, the hypocrisy! But what did you expect Chris Dodd to say? That anti-SOPA websites are doing all of us a service by standing up for free speech? Not likely. Still, it's unfailingly astonishing that politicians like Dodd are so capable of saying the things they say without the slightest trace of irony. Nate Nelson of UnitedLiberty.org brings us the story: The MPAA selected Dodd as its new head lobbyist chairman and CEO last year. Now Dodd is taking aim at Wikipedia, Google, and other websites involved in today's protest against the SOPA/PIPA internet censorship legislation pending in Congress: But wait -- maybe Chris Dodd has a highly compelling justification for SOPA that helps us to understand why he thinks websites willing to sacrifice a day of hits to stand against it are so power-abusive? Actually, he does. According to Dodd, we shouldn't care that the government wants to censor the Internet. After all, communist China does it. Seriously. That is his justification. From an article in Variety magazine late last year: Dodd, who assumed his post in March, notes that the idea of blocking sites is by no means unprecedented. Other supporters of the legislation note Internet providers already block criminal content like child pornography. Citing a more controversial practice, Dodd notes "When the Chinese told Google that they had to block sites or they couldn't do [business] in their country, they managed to figure out how to block sites." While he was in the Senate, Dodd supported net neutrality, and we know from Dodd-Frank, too, that he's regulation-happy. His support for SOPA comes as no surprise -- but the hypocrisy of his criticism of SOPA-critical websites still appalls. Incidentally, I do disagree with United Liberty's Nelson on one point. At this point, I think the momentum is actually on the side of the anti-SOPA folks. Granted, if players like Chris Dodd are involved, the pro-SOPA contingent might find an unfair way to push this through -- and Harry Reid remains committed to the passage of the Senate equivalent, PIPA -- but Darrell Issa has said SOPA won't make it out of committee until some kind of "consensus" is reached, Marco Rubio recently withdrew his support for PIPA and then, too, those "irresponsible" websites that blacked out today are awakening all kinds of awareness. With Dodd at the helm, I am taking the position that anything the MPAA wants I am immediately opposed to it. I didn't need Dodd at the helm to tell me that...
