Blinken Admits Hamas Hardened Hostage Position Due to U.S. Public Pressure on Israel |
2025-01-06 |
![]() Noted Columnist Caroline Glick: "Blinken himself has devoted most of his energies to pressuring and castigating Israel." U.S. Secretary of State Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on Saturday made a stunning admission explaining how U.S. pressure on Israel emboldened the terrorist group Hamas and made it toughen its stance on the issue of hostage release. Whenever there was open disagreement between the U.S. and Israel, Hamas backtracked on hostage release, the outgoing secretary of state acknowledged. "Whenever there has been public daylight between the United States and Israel and the perception that pressure was growing on Israel," he said an interview with The New York Times. "[W]e’ve seen it: Hamas has pulled back from agreeing to a ceasefire and the release of hostages."
Blinken’s shocking admission was met with sharp criticism in the Israeli press. The newspaper Israel Hayom commented: "Now, as the hostage release deal nears completion, the cat is out of the bag," In an interview with The New York Times, acknowledged the damage that American pressure on Israel caused to the hostage release efforts." Noting Blinken’s own role in weakening Israel’s negotiating position, prominent Israeli author and commentator Caroline Glick wrote that "Blinken himself has devoted most of his energies to pressuring and castigating Israel." Glick commented in her Sunday’s column for the Jewish New Syndicate (JNS): The hostages have been held in Gaza for 457 days. And the question of why they are still there, why has Israel been unable to bring them home, gets asked with increased frustration and alarm every day from all quarters. |

China & Russia & Iran, oh my! Weighing the threat with David Goldman |
2024-08-31 |
[Asia Times] A long, rambling YouTube video of a conversation between Israeli journalist Carolyn Glick and David Goldman of The Asia Times. The transcript is featured in today's Asia Times as Israel is not an outpost of the West. A brief excerpt from the transcript: Goldman: Carolyn, I’m worried, but I’m not alarmed for a number of reasons. As Robert F Kennedy Jr put it so eloquently in his press conference last week announcing his support for the candidacy of Donald Trump, we pushed Russia into an alliance with Iran and China. Is Israel's biggest danger from the Biden White House? |
2023-10-20 |
[American Thinker] Renowned journalist and Middle East expert Caroline Glick says Israel is now facing dangers from a quarter no one anticipated: the Biden administration. During yesterday’s broadcast of "The Caroline Glick Show" on JNS TV, Glick outlined how her own sources described what’s been happening behind the scenes. Speaking from her home in Israel, Glick said, "We are in danger of losing ... sovereign control over our military." She then presented what sources told her really happened when secretary of state Tony Blinken met with Israel’s war cabinet on Monday. "From what came out of the meeting, Tony Blinken wasn’t trying to help Israel at all. What he was doing was demanding that Israel enable resupply to Gaza, the euphemism of which is ’humanitarian aid.’" She continued to say that Blinken threatened to withhold American war materiel from Israel, such as bunker buster bombs and regular ordinance. And Israel didn’t just decide to invite Biden. His administration demanded that Israel invite him, she said, adding, "I don’t know; ask his presidential campaign." While Israel’s forces have been being held in limbo at the Gaza border, those charged with carrying out the mission began demanding they be allowed to go in. They cited difficulties in maintaining the readiness and morale of troops as well as a loss of the momentum they had after the October 7 massacre. Glick said that lapse in time also allowed the international media to turn on Israel. "We have all these Hamas supporters throughout the Western world who are feeling empowered, and not unreasonably given the backing they’re receiving from the media." Most disturbingly, Glick said commanders at the southern border were told, "We can’t do anything until Biden leaves. So that Biden is literally acting as a human shield for Hamas — so long as he hasn’t arrived yet, and hasn’t left yet, their terror state is going to be free from invasion." She continued to stress that demands to get humanitarian aid to Gaza are demands to resupply Hamas because they control every person and inch of land in Gaza. She then pointed to a tweet from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNWRA) that read: "UNWRA received reports that yesterday a group of people with trucks purporting to be from the Ministry of Health of the de facto authorities in Gaza, removed fuel and medical equipment from the Agency’s compound in Gaza City." That tweet quickly disappeared as fast as UNWRA "put up this thing disavowing the social media posts claiming that Hamas had been plundering their offices." Ironically, Glick said that reports that have come out over the past many years have shown that most of the UNRWA employees in Gaza are members of Hamas. According to Glick, this further supports the fact that Tony Blinken sat for seven hours with Israel’s war cabinet demanding they resupply Hamas. Just before Glick’s broadcast was released, UNRWA reported that an alleged Israeli strike on an UNRWA school had killed six people, and that Israel showed "a flagrant disregard for the lives of civilians," adding, "No place is safe in Gaza anymore, not even UNRWA facilities." But again, as Glick points out, Hamas has a history of launching its missiles from beneath UNWRA schools and hospitals. Making matters worse, the U.S. said they would supply Israel with the bombs, but they weren’t allowed to use them against the missile launching sites — i.e., the UNRWA schools and hospitals. |

A Very Somber Assessment by Caroline Glick From Israel (video) |
2023-10-08 |
[Last Refuge] Caroline Glick provides a somber rundown of what has happened in Israel, and starting at 06:00 of the video below, shares some pragmatic thoughts on the meaning of the war and the only way that it can end with Israel and its people safe. Given the nature of what has been happening in Israeli politics, and the coordination Saturday in the Hamas attack, as Mrs. Glick aptly notes, all prior metrics for a regional Israeli control and defend policy has failed. In very somber tones, Caroline Glick deconstructs the pretending model and cuts to the heart of the issue. Regardless of diplomatic costs, the strategic killing of every element of Hamas must begin immediately, with extreme prejudice and without regard for collateral damage. Senator Tom Cotton, Mike Pompeo Respond to FrontPageMag Expose of Anti-Israel Activist on Holocaust Museum Board |
2023-06-02 |
by Daniel Greenfield Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas responded to Front Page Magazine’s story exposing the fact that President Biden had nominated Kimberly Marteau Emerson to the Holocaust Memorial Council. The Holocaust Memorial Council acts as the board of trustees for the Holocaust Museum. Emerson, apart from being the wife of John Emerson. a Democrat operative and financial bigwig, picked by Obama to be his ambassador to Germany, is a board member of Human Rights Watch. Human Rights Watch has repeatedly and falsely accused Israel of “apartheid”. Its personnel have advocated for terrorists and for the murder of Jews, and even spread traditional blood libels. Senator Cotton responded to the FrontPageMag expose by tweeting that, “No one leading a group that wants to destroy the one Jewish state should be on the board of the Holocaust Museum. Another terrible pick from President Biden.” Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also denounced the move, tweeting, “completely inappropriate.” Ever since Front Page Magazine’s story original story came out, a variety of public figures have rallied to oppose Kimberly Marteau Emerson’s nomination including journalist Caroline Glick and pro-Israel activists. Front Page Magazine will continue exposing and fighting the Biden administration’s campaign of hate and radical appointees waging war on the Jewish State. Why US outsourced bat virus research to Wuhan
2020-04-23 | |
The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded bat-coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ![]() research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China to the tune of US$3.7 million, a recent article in the British newspaper Daily Mail revealed. Back in October 2014, the US government had placed a federal moratorium on gain-of-function (GOF) research — altering natural pathogens to make them more deadly and infectious — as a result of rising fears about a possible pandemic caused by an accidental or deliberate release of these genetically engineered monster germs. This was in part due to lab accidents at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in July 2014 that raised questions about biosafety at US high-containment labs. At that time, the CDC had closed two labs and halted some biological shipments in the wake of several incidents in which highly pathogenic microbes were mishandled by US government laboratories: an accidental shipment of live anthrax, the discovery of forgotten live smallpox samples and a newly revealed incident in which a dangerous influenza strain was accidentally shipped from the CDC to another lab. A CDC internal report described how scientists failed to follow proper procedures to ensure samples were inactivated before they left the lab, and also found "multiple other problems" with operating procedures in the anthrax lab. As such in October 2014, because of public health concerns, the US government banned all federal funding on efforts to weaponize three viruses — influenza, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). In the face of a moratorium in the US, Dr Anthony Fauci — the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and currently the leading doctor in the US Coronavirus Task Force — outsourced in 2015 the GOF research to China’s Wuhan lab and licensed the lab to continue receiving US government funding. The Wuhan lab is now at the center of scrutiny for possibly releasing the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and causing the global Covid-19 pandemic. It is understandable that the Chinese lab likely struggled with safety issues given the fact US labs share similar problems, and indeed in January 2018 the US Embassy in Beijing sent cables warning about the safety of the Wuhan lab and asked for help. Additionally, the embassy warned that researchers "showed that various SARS-like coronaviruses can interact with ACE2, the human receptor identified for SARS-coronavirus," meaning bat coronaviruses can be transmitted to humans to cause SARS-like diseases.

Israeli sovereignty and the fate of the Trump plan |
2020-02-08 |
h/t Gates of Vienna [Caroline Glick] - On Wednesday morning, NeverTrump propagandist Bill Kristol told his MSNBC audience that Democratic chances of victory over US President Donald Trump will rise if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is defeated in Israel’s elections on March 2. ...To understand why this is the case it is first necessary to understand the nature of the Blue and White party and its relationship to Trump and his peace plan. ...Just before Gantz traveled to Washington to meet with Trump at the White House last Monday, it came out that his top campaign strategists, Ronen Tzur and Joel Benenson had both separately published multiple posts on Twitter viciously attacking Trump. Both men compared him to Hitler, called him a Russian agent and a racist. In other words, both men parroted Democratic talking points against Trump. (After his posts were reported, Tzur claimed that he no longer believed the things he had written.) Whereas Tzur ‐ like every garden variety Israeli leftist politico ‐ apparently follows the Democrats on everything related to American public affairs automatically, Benenson shapes Democratic positions. Benenson served as Barack Obama’s senior political strategist in the 2008 and 2012 elections and as Hillary Clinton’s senior political strategist in 2016. In 2015, Wikileaks published Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta’s emails. Several email chains included internal campaign discussions in which Benenson participated. In two discussions, Benenson advised Clinton not to mention Israel in public events. Now Benenson is directing Blue and White’s campaign, and there is little reason for surprise at the seamlessness of his move from Obama and Clinton to Gantz. The Israeli left has been intertwined with the Democratic Party. |

Caroline Glick - Donald Trump and the mythmakers |
2020-01-11 |
![]() Both narratives reject reality as the basis for foreign policy decision-making in favor of delusion. Over the past two months, President Donald Trump has rejected and disavowed them both. His opponents are apoplectic. So rather than admit the truth, Carter accepted the absurd fiction spun by the regime that Khomeini was an innocent bystander who, try as he might, couldn’t get a bunch of "students" in central Tehran to free the hostages. So too, as Smith noted, the Carter administration was propelled by guilt. The worldviews of many members of the administration had been shaped on radical university campuses in the 1960s. They agreed with the Iranian revolutionaries who cursed Americans as imperialists. They perceived Khomeini and his followers as "authentic" Third World actors who were giving the Americans their comeuppance. Khomeini and his "Death to America" shouting followers got the message. They understood that Washington had given them a green light to attack Americans in moderate and, as Smith put it, "plausibly deniable" doses. it. For the next 40 years, Iran maintained its aggression against America. And from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama, every president since Carter accepted and kept faith with Carter’s decision not to hold the Iranian regime responsible for the acts of aggression and war it carried out against America through proxies. During the Iraq War from 2003-2011, Iran’s aggression reached new heights. Iran organized the Shiite militias that waged war against the US forces in Iraq. It also supported Al-Qaida in Iraq which organized in Iran and used Iran as its logistical base for operations. More than six hundred American forces were killed and thousands were wounded in attacks carried out with Iranian-made improvised explosive devices, (IADs). Yet rather than confront Iran for its aggression and take action against it, the Bush administration tried to make a deal with the mullahs. Under Obama, reaching an accord with Iran was the singular goal of US foreign policy. Every other goal was subordinated to Obama’s burning desire to appease Iran at the expense of Israel and the US’s Sunni Arab allies. |

The elite war on democracy |
2019-10-22 |
![]() Often there seem to be international trends in response to historical forces, trends that then create their own historical forces. The age of 20th Century dictators, for example. Later, the resurgence of conservatism in Reagan and Thatcher. Then, a reaction by the left. And now we have the hand of elites clamping down on the unwashed populaces who would reduce their power. In the US, it’s evidenced by the no-hold-barred fight to destroy Trump. In western Europe, there’s the EU against the people of many countries, in particular the UK’s Brexit movement. And in Israel there’s the prosecution of Netanyahu, which Caroline Glick describes this way: See yesterday's full post I note several things, one of which is the participation of Alan Dershowitz, who seems to be fighting this fight on several fronts. Another is the more general idea that one of the ways that the elites are fighting back is through lawfare (something we already know) but in particular through the redefinition of politics as a form of corruption. For those of whom they approve, no act is bad enough to prosecute, but for those they wish to remove, actions that would never have previously been defined as corrupt are now defined that way and the legal system is the means to accomplish their aims. For example, the Israeli left's successful assassination of Ariel Sharon - causing him a stroke - by convicting and jailing his son for campaign finance violations that were ignored in the case of the Labor Party This parallels the manner in which the legal system manned by liberal judges has been used to circumvent the people’s reluctance or slowness on certain issues in the recent past. One was abortion, of course. Another was gay marriage. State-by-state solutions and decisions were not allowed, and new constitutional rights were created by liberal justices impatient with the pace of change. The time-tested process of using amendments to the Constitution to effect change is considered too tedious and democratic as well. |
