Govt rebuffs rumours of Zardari''s resignation, army chief eyeing presidency |
2025-07-11 |
[GEO.TV] The federal government on Thursday categorically rebuked speculations related to President Asif Ali Ten PercentZardari ![]() ...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in... 's resignation and the claims that Field Marshal Asim Munir was "aspiring to assume the presidency". "We are fully aware of who is behind the malicious campaign targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif ![]() , and the Chief of Army Staff," Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement on his X handle on Thursday. "I have categorically stated that there has been no discussion, nor does any such idea exist, about the President being asked to resign or the COAS aspiring to assume the presidency," he added. Naqvi said President Zardari enjoys a strong and respectful relationship with the leadership of the armed forces. He quoted the president as saying: "I know who is spreading these falsehoods, why they are doing so, and who stands to benefit from this propaganda". "To those involved in this narrative, do whatever you wish in collaboration with hostile foreign agencies. As for us, we will do whatever is necessary to make Pakistain strong again, InshAllah," the minister added, stressing that the sole focus of the COAS was on the strength and stability of Pakistain and nothing else. The security czar's clarification comes amid rumours which began circulating after the ruling Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N) obtained a simple majority in the National Assembly after the reinstatement of reserved seats by the Election Commission of Pakistain following the top court's Constitutional Bench verdict. |

Pakistan never backs terrorists, Bilawal tells India's Karan Thapar clearly |
2025-07-10 |
[GEO.TV] Former foreign minister and Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari rejected India's claims of patronising terrorist groups to conduct attacks outside of Pakistain. In an interview with Indian journalist Karan Thapar, Bilawal said: "Pakistain does not willingly permit [—] the groups you mentioned or any group to conduct terrorist attacks outside of Pakistain but also within Pakistain." Highlighting the country's losses during the war against terrorism, the PPP politician said that the world is well aware that Pakistain faced the brunt of terrorism over the past many decades. "Pakistain is fighting and has been fighting the largest inland war against terrorism. We've lost 92,000 lives altogether. Just last year, we lost more than 1,200 civilian lives in more than 200 different terrorist attacks." "At the rate at which terrorist attacks are taking place just this year alone, if they continue at this pace, this year will be the bloodiest year in Pakistain's history." Recalling the liquidation of his mother and former premier Benazir Bhutto ... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in... , Bilawal said: "I too am a victim of terrorism. I feel the pain of the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. I understand the trauma that their families are experiencing in a way more than many others can ever imagine." He also elaborated on Pakistain's ongoing battle to root out the menace, saying: "Pakistain went through a process where we not only took military action against terrorist groups within Pakistain." He said that in the previous Zardari's tenure, Pakistain conducted an operation in South ![]() |

Can India and Pakistan Back Away From the Abyss of Nuclear War? |
2025-04-29 |
It seems to me that India already has, and Pakistan prefers to continue using their jihadi proxies, even though they aren’t fooling anyone. [RedState] India and Pakistain seem to move inexorably toward war as rhetoric and retaliatory action were ratcheted up since a bloody massacre of 26 people by the Pakistain-sponsored group called Kashmir![]() Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... Resistance® on Tuesday; see Terror in India: Attack Leaves Dozens Dead During JD Vance's Visit — RedState. This is not the first terror attack in Kashmir, but this one was in a tourist spot, and eyewitness reports say that the button men singled out non-Moslems for execution. Here's the state of play. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed vengeance. In a rally, he said, "I say to the whole world: India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers." The backers are, of course, Pakistain's intelligence and military apparatus. Both countries have ordered visa holders from the other to leave immediately. Both sides have expelled diplomats, but there hasn't been an official break in diplomatic relations. Pakistain had suspended all trade with India and put Pak airspace off limits to Indian aircraft. The nightly "Beating Retreat" ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border crossing is supposed to end with the gate up and a handshake. That has been suspended. The cut point came on Thursday when India cut off Pakistain's supply of fresh water and announced it was reconsidering the Indus Waters Treaty. That drew the expected response from Pakistain. Here is a member of parliament, Bilawal BabyBhutto Zardari ...Pak dynastic politician, son of Benazir Bhutto and grandon of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. As far as is known, Bilawal has no particular talents other than being pretty and being able to memorize political slogans, but he had the good luck to be born into the right family and he hasn't been assassinated yet... , telling a rally, "I would like to stand here in Sukkur by the Indus and tell India that the Indus is ours and the Indus will remain ours, whether water flows in this Indus or their blood." India's lone carrier, the INS Vikrant, has sortied to the Arabian Sea. But, like the Grand Old Duke of York, it soon returned to port, allegedly due to a fire in one of its galleys. India and Pakistain have fought four wars.
If war breaks out, it is hard to see how this ends well for anyone. Pakistan is not a match for India in conventional warfare, but both nations have nuclear weapons. Pakistan is estimated to have 170 warheads, and India is thought to have 172. Pakistan reserves the right to use nuclear weapons first in a conflict; India's policy is that it will only use nuclear weapons if it is attacked with them. This virtually ensures any war turns nuclear, as it is difficult to see how Pakistan's Army holds off a determined effort by India and would have to go nuclear to prevent a catastrophic defeat. Adding to the uncertainty, Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is heavily focused on tactical nuclear weapons while India's is not. This could lead Pakistan to believe it could use battlefield nukes and not risk a disproportionate nuclear response. |

2024-12-02 | |
[GEO.TV] Two Pakistain Army soldiers, including a captain, embraced martyrdom, while eight bad boyz were potted in two separate operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military's media affairs wing said on Sunday. However, the hip bone's connected to the leg bone... during the operation, Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain, 29, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom. Pakistan decries IIOJK polls, demands action against Modi over human rights' violations |
2024-09-19 |
[GEO.TV] President Asif Ali Ten PercentZardari ![]() ...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in... on Wednesday categorically rejected the elections for the legislative assembly of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. (IIOJK), asserting that these polls were no substitute for the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination. Provincial elections are being held in the occupied territory for the first time in a decade. The occupied Moslem-majority region enjoyed a special status of partial autonomy until 2019 which was then revoked by the far-right Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party's government. IIOJK's special semi-autonomous status — constitutionally enshrined power to control its affairs — had meant that only those who descended from residents of the territory in 1934 could vote and own property. The polls are being held after the Indian Supreme Court, last year, upheld the government's decision and set a deadline of September 30 this year for local polls. President Zardari, talking to a delegation of ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... violations in IIOJK. He further urged the need to take concrete steps toward conducting a plebiscite in line with relevant United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... Security Council Resolutions. Welcoming the delegation, the president condemned the legislative assembly elections in IIOJK, terming them as part of India's broader strategy to consolidate its illegal occupation of the region. |

Fazl seldom misses a meal and is now so large he has his own gravitational pull... for 'legitimising' the ruling regime following the latter's major shift in his stance on the coalition government amid parliamentary collaboration with the former ruling party. "We never needed [Maulana Fazl] support, neither in the past nor today." Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said while speaking on Geo News programme 'Naya Pakistain'. The PTI leader's statement came as JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl seemingly lowered his rhetoric against the PML-N-led coalition government which he accused of coming to power via "rigged" February 8 general elections. Speaking in the National Assembly on Wednesday, the JUI-F chief referred to the alleged manipulation in the election results saying whether the present parliament was a product of "Form 45 or 47", they had to accept and use it to address all the national issues. Fazl also urged both the government and the opposition to confront the challenge of terrorism, saying parliament is the supreme institution. The religio-political party and the PTI had reached a consensus on cooperation in the National Assembly and the Senate in August. Both the parties, who have traditionally been arch-rivals, have held multiple interactions since the February 8 polls owing to their mutual concerns regarding alleged election result manipulation and irregularities in the polls. Later, the incumbent government stepped up its efforts to woo the disgruntled ally as President Asif Ali Ten PercentZardari ...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in... and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate meetings with him and sought to assuage his concerns. |
