In addition to the 15, some 20 suspected forces of Evil were also injured in the operation, ISPR said.

It further said that there are "credible reports" that six of the 15 who were killed Sunday night were "operational level terrorists", namely Kuchay Bajuari, Zar Mohammad alias Madni, Huzaifa, Sangary, Lakhkari and Sangeen

ISPR said "terrorists" from across the border had targeted the posts late on Sunday night in Mohmand Agency
... Named for the Mohmand clan of the Sarban Pahstuns, a truculent, quarrelsome lot. In Pakistain, the Mohmands infest their eponymous Agency, metastasizing as far as the plains of Peshawar, Charsadda, and Mardan. Mohmands are also scattered throughout Pakistan in urban areas including Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta. In Afghanistan they are mainly found in Nangarhar and Kunar...
"Effective presence, vigilance and response repulsed turbans attempt," read the statement.

The seizure included seven kilograms of heroin intercepted by the Airport Security Force at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) while it was being smuggled to Saudi Arabia.

I was gonna do that when Romney lost, too, but I couldn't find a match.
"Our property case depends on stability of the government. If Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is forced to step down, my tribe will be unable to recover the land and I will commit self-immolation at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi," Shehryar told journalists at Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

Press Club on Monday.

With a party flag around his neck and a bottle full of petrol on the table in front of him, the PML-N worker said that his family had a valuable land property worth millions of rupees in Bajuar Agency and Nawaz Sharif before coming into power had promised to help him in recovery of the land.

"We are waiting for the end of the sit-ins. The prime minister will help us get back our land. In case he is forced to step down, it will be a serious setback to my family and as result we all landowners will commit self-immolation," Mr Shehryar said.

The PML-N worker said that Nawaz Sharif was an elected prime minister and the demand of his resignation was wrong and undemocratic.

He said that the entire nation supported Nawaz Sharif to strengthen democracy and supremacy of the constitution in the country.

that the two leaders had nothing to do with the country's interests but they wanted to gain powers at any cost.

"I along with my family and relatives will commit self-immolation and the entire responsibility will rest with PTI and PAT leadership," Mr Shehryar said.

He added that PAT chief was a Canadian national, who was trying to ruin democracy by besieging parliament and national institutions with the help of few thousands people.

The PML-N worker demanded of the government to arrest Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri for what he called their unconstitutional and undemocratic step and lodge a case against them for attacking Parliament House and other national institutions during the sit-ins in Islamabad.

Mr Shehryar said that they would render any sacrifice for protection of democracy and supremacy of constitution.

2010-12-26
[Pak Daily Times] A female jacket wallah ripped though a gathering of conflict-hit people waiting to receive food in Bajuar Agency, killing at least 42 people, including women and kiddies, and injuring scores of others, officials and locals said.

A political administration official told Daily Times on Saturday that the suicide kaboom took place at a food distribution centre being run by the World Food Organisation in Khar. He said around 300 people from the Salarzai tribe were gathered to receive food when the bomber struck. A WFP front man said the attack took place where people were being screened at a security checkpoint near their centre.

Assistant Political Agent Tariq Khan said the bomber was a woman. He said she appeared in full veil and blew herself up while being searched at the centre.

Witnesses said she threw hand grenades at rustics before detonating the bomb. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistain front man Azam Tariq grabbed credit for the attack on behalf of the group and said the attack was retaliation for the Salarzai tribe's activities against the Taliban.
VoA sez the body count stands at 45 plus.
Meanwhile,
...back at the ranch...
WFP temporarily stopped its food distribution operation in Bajaur after the attack. A front man WFP front man said a curfew was imposed in the area after the terrorist attack, due to which the WFP halted its operation.

2010-05-28
A top leader of Pakistan's Taliban has been killed in a clash with Afghan forces near the border, a top Afghan police officer said
Bringing yesterday's story forward a day...
Maulvi Fazlullah, the head of a Taliban faction in Pakistan's Swat Valley, was reportedly killed along with six of his comrades in the Barg Matal district of the Nuristan province, bordering Pakistan, Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, chief of the Afghan border force for the eastern region told Reuters.

"Maulvi Fazlullah was killed in direct clash with Afghan border police...last night," he said.

He did not have further details. The Afghan Taliban have confirmed the fighting, but insist no foreign militants were involved.

The news of Fazlullah's death comes after reports of several days of clashes between Afghan forces and militants in Barg Matal.

Maulvi Faqir Mohammad, who heads a Pakistani Taliban faction based in the Bajuar tribal region, denied media reports that Fazlullah was leading any assault in Afghanistan.

"He could be in Nuristan because the Taliban have been moving back and forth along the border," he told Reuters by telephone prior to reports of Fazlullah's death.

US secretly strikes Qaeda: report
2008-11-11
Since 2004, the Pentagon has used broad, secret authority to carry out about 12 attacks against al-Qaeda and other militants in Syria, Pakistan and elsewhere, the New York Times reported on its website Sunday.

Quoting what it said were more than six unnamed military and intelligence officials and senior Bush administration policy makers, the newspaper said the military operations were authorized by a classified order signed by former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld with the approval of President George W. Bush.

The order gave the military permission to attack al-Qaeda and other hostile targets anywhere in the world, even in countries not at war with the United States, without any additional approval, the report said. Despite the order, each mission required high-level government approval, the Times reported.

The order identified 15 to 20 countries, including Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, where Qaeda militants were believed to be operating or to have sought sanctuary, a senior administration official told the newspaper.

A former top CIA official told the newspaper that one of the operations included the raid of a suspected militant compound in the Bajuar region of Pakistan. What's more, military planners were able to watch the entire attack "live" at CIA headquarters in Virginia through a video camera installed on a Predator aircraft that was sent to the area, the paper said.
Is there nothing the NYT won't print when it comes to hitting our enemies?
There is no information about the remaining secret military strikes, but officials made clear the list of targets did not include Iran, the Times pointed out.

The paper said, however, that U.S. forces had carried out reconnaissance missions in Iran using other classified directives.

Senior military officials told the paper that as many as a dozen additional missions were scrapped because senior administration officials decided they were too dangerous, diplomatically problematic or relied on insufficient evidence.

Before the 2004 order, the Pentagon needed to get approval for missions on a case-by-case basis, which could take days, the paper noted. But Rumsfeld was not satisfied with the status-quo and pressed hard for permission to use military power automatically outside the combat zones of Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the Times.
