FBI Breaks Pakistani Migrant Smuggling Network in Texas
2025-05-26
Good.
[Breitbart] The FBI arrested two Pakistani immigration lawyers in Texas, exposing a smuggling network that imported Pakistani migrants via several forms of white-collar fraud.

The FBI investigation and the arrest follow promises by President Donald Trump’s deputies to separate investigations into white-collar migration crime. The Justice Department reported:

Two Texas residents, Abdul Hadi Murshid, 39, and Muhammad Salman Nasir, 35, both originally from Pakistan, a law firm, and a business entity were charged by indictment with conspiracy to defraud the United States, visa fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) conspiracy, announced Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham. Murshid and Nasir were also charged with unlawfully obtaining and attempting to obtain United States citizenship.

The defendants face up to 20 years in prison.

The federal government allows a shifting population of roughly 1.5 million migrants in white-collar jobs throughout the United States. The workers arrive via multiple white-collar visa programs, such as the H-1B work visa and the EB programs for green card applicants.

These programs create myriad incentives and opportunities for graft, scams, and fraud in the legal migration system. For decades, the government has done little to find or reduce the fraud, despite the massive damage to Americans’ white-collar professionals, per-capita productivity, and national innovation.

The programs also reduce the ability of American professionals to enforce legal, technical, and professional standards, despite the federal government’s insistence that Americans benefit from the standards, regulations, and laws set by the government.

The FBI has the opportunity to discover and penalize the two lawyers’ prior clients. They can also pressure those clients to provide evidence of additional fraud by other migrants.
Very good.
The DoJ reported:

The indictment alleges that the defendants exploited the EB-2, EB-3, and H-1B visa programs. Specifically, the defendants caused classified advertisements to be placed in a daily periodical for non-existent jobs. These advertisements were placed in order to satisfy a Department of Labor (“DOL”) requirement to offer the position to United States citizens before hiring foreign nationals. Once they received the fraudulently obtained certification for from the Department of Labor, the defendants filed a petition to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) to obtain an immigrant visa for the visa seekers.

At the time the petitions were submitted, the defendants also submitted an application for legal permanent residence so that the visa seekers could also obtain a green card. According to the indictment, to make the non-existent jobs look legitimate, the defendants received payment from visa seekers, then returned a portion of the money back to the visa seekers as purported payroll.

The H-1B program is for white-collar migrants seeking to earn green cards. The EB-2 and EB-3 programs allow companies to provide foreign workers with the huge prize of green cards and citizenship.

Trump’s deputies are promising to crack down on the airport-migrant fraud, even as they work to deport border migrants.

“We have added the following priority areas for tips: procurement and federal program fraud; trade, tariff, and customs fraud; violations of federal immigration law,” said a department official, Matthew Galeotti, chief of the department’s Criminal Division.

The new head of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Andrea Lucas, has also announced more focus on visa fraud. “If you are part of the pipeline contributing to our immigration crisis or abusing our legal immigration system via illegal preferences against American workers, you must stop,” she said.

“We hope that what they do to enforce laws has teeth and leads to change,” said Dan Kotchen, at Kotchen & Low LLP, who has filed discrimination cases against major Indian-run staffing companies. He is also filing visa fraud cases via the False Claims Act, despite passivity from the federal government.

Army releases video of Israeli forces entering corridor between Rafah and Khan Younis

[IsraelTimes] The IDF releases footage from the entry of the 36th Division into the so-called Morag Corridor, located between southern Gaza’s Rafah and Khan Younis, last week.

It marks the first time since the beginning of the war that ground troops are operating in the area.

The division entered the corridor area on Wednesday, following a night of intensive airstrikes and evacuation warnings.

The military says it is operating in the Morag Corridor and in Rafah to demolish the remaining Hamas infrastructure.

At least 19 rockets fired at Israel from southern Gaza, the largest barrage in weeks
2024-08-03
[IsraelTimes] Salvoes set off sirens in communities near border and around Kiryat Malachi, some 65 km from Strip; IDF confirms killing deputy head of Islamic Jihad arms manufacturing unit

Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip launched several volleys of projectiles at southern Israel on Friday, marking some of the most intensive rocket fire from the coastal enclave in weeks.

At least 19 rockets were launched from southern Gaza over a few-hour span, trigger warning sirens around the city of Kiryat Malachi — about 65 kilometers (40 miles) from the Strip’s south — and in a number of communities along the border.

There were no reports of injuries and all the rockets either landed in open areas or were downed by the Iron Dome missile defense system, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The IDF later said it carried out drone strokes on the rocket launchers used in the attacks, destroying them.

Meanwhile, the army confirmed Friday that it had killed a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander in Gaza, as fighting raged in the Strip’s south and center, while an Arabic-language report said the IDF recently killed five Hamas leaders in a tunnel under Gaza City.

Mediators in talks with Hamas have expressed dismay at Haniyeh’s killing, saying it could throw a wrench in progress toward a ceasefire-for-hostages deal. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has authorized Israeli negotiators to resume talks in Cairo in the coming days.

The IDF also said Friday that troops with the 162nd Division killed more than 30 gunmen in close-quarters combat and by calling in airstrikes in southern Gaza’s Rafah in the past day.

In the Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, where the 252nd Division is deployed, reservists with the division’s Jerusalem Brigade spotted a cell of gunmen emerging from a tunnel, and called in a drone strike, according to the military.

In the same area, amid operations by the Harel Reserve Armored Brigade, an attack helicopter struck a building used as a weapons depot, the IDF added.

An Israeli airstrike killed Muhammad al-Jabari, the deputy head of a weapons manufacturing unit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad responsible for the unit’s finances, the IDF said Friday. Palestinian media reports said al-Jabari was killed in Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood.

According to the army, al-Jabari “was entrusted with the organization’s production of weapons in the northern Gaza Strip, distribution of salaries and money to the organization’s terrorists, and took an active part in the attempt to restore the organization’s rocket production capabilities and infrastructure.”

The military carried out “many steps” to mitigate harm to civilians in the strike, including using aerial surveillance and precision munitions, the IDF said.

The London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported Friday that the IDF killed two Hamas politburo members and three military commanders in a recent airstrike on a tunnel under Gaza City.

The report, which cited Hamas sources, named those killed as political leaders Rawhi Mushtaha and Sameh al-Siraj along with three commanders from the group’s military wing, the Izz a-Din al-Qassam Brigades; Abdul Hadi Siam, Sami Odeh and Muhammad Hadid.

Mushtaha has served as de facto prime minister of the Gaza Strip and is in charge of financial affairs within the Hamas politburo. He reportedly helped establish the Hamas military wing and was arrested by Israel in 1988 before being released in 2011 as part of the Shalit prisoner swap. He is said to be a close confidant of Hamas Gaza chief Yahya Sinwar and is seen as one of the terror group’s most hawkish members.

Siraj has served in the Hamas politburo since 2021 and is also in charge of internal security within the Strip. He reportedly headed a secret intelligence unit operating out of Turkey.

The Hamas sources said the bodies of the assassinated leaders were pulled from the rubble after the most recent bombing in a complicated extraction effort that took several days. They were reportedly buried Thursday night.

According to the report, the tunnel was used by the terror group as a command and control center and has rooms for sleeping, where operatives can hide out for extended periods.

The IDF said in November that it had targeted Mushtaha and Siraj in a tunnel, but was unable to confirm their deaths.

The sources quoted by Asharq Al-Awsat said the strike on the tunnel that killed the Hamas members took place around a week and a half ago, noting the underground hideout was partially damaged in an airstrike at the beginning of the ongoing war in Gaza, sparked by the terror group’s October 7 massacre.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 39,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed some 15,000 combatants in battle and some 1,000 terrorists inside Israel during the October 7 attack.

Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 331.

Israel assassinated 5 Hamas leaders in a tunnel under Gaza City — Arab media report

2024-04-28
[TOLONEWS] At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's defense ministers' meeting in Kazakhstan, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu claimed that the main threat to Central Asia originates from terrorists bully boyz based in Afghanistan.

The Russian Defense Minister also spoke at the meeting about America's efforts to regain influence in the region following its withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Sergei Shoigu said, "The main danger to Central Asia comes from extremist turban terrorist groups based in Afghanistan, and the United States is trying to influence the region after its 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan."

The Islamic Emirate has repeatedly stated that Afghan soil will not be used against any country.

Some military experts believe that there are no terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

Abdul Hadi Quraishi, a military affairs expert, told TOLOnews: "Russia and China should be assured that there is no threat from Afghan soil against Central Asia and the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and it is the policy of the Islamic Emirate that Afghan soil does not pose a threat to any country in the world and will not do so."

Hekmatullah Hekmat, a military affairs expert, said: "Afghan soil is currently not hosting any terrorist groups, and it is the hope of the current government's officials to maintain their neutrality in such interactions and consider national interests."

The Islamic Emirate has consistently called the claims of terrorist groups' presence in Afghanistan unfounded.

Palestinians say 11 killed, 102 hurt in Nablus clashes between gunmen, Israeli forces
2023-02-23
[IsraelTimes] Firefights erupt as military surrounds house where senior Lion’s Den member was hiding out with two other button men

Ten Paleostinians were killed as heavy shootouts broke out between Israeli forces and button men Wednesday in Nablus after the military entered the northern West Bank city to arrest a number of terror suspects.

The Paleostinian Authority’s health ministry said that in addition to 11 people confirmed dead, 102 Paleostinians were hurt in the festivities, seven of them seriously. It did not specify the involvement among those killed and maimed.

The ministry identified them as Adnan Saabe Baara, 72, Anan Shawkat Annab, 66, Abdul Hadi Abdul Aziz Ashqar, 61, Mohammad Farid Shaaban, 16, Tamer Nimr Minawi, 33, Mohammad Khaled Anbousi, 25, Musab Munir Awais, 26, Hussam Bassam Isleem, 24, and Mohammad Abdul Fattah, 23, Walid Riyad Dkhail, 23, and Jaser Jamil Qanier, 23.

The Israel Defense Forces said troops had entered Nablus to arrest Isleem, a senior member of the Lion’s Den terror group, who was allegedly the third member of a cell that killed Staff Sgt. Ido Baruch during a shooting attack in October. The other two were detained last week.

A military source told The Times of Israel that soldiers surrounded a home where three suspects, all members of the Lion’s Den terror group, were holed up, demanding they turn themselves in. Officers of the elite police Yamam unit fired missiles at the building, to flush the men out in a technique known as "pressure cooker."

Two of the suspects were killed inside the building, while the third was rubbed out while he tried to escape.

Soldiers later found two firearms and ammunition in the building, the IDF said.

The IDF named the other two Lion’s Den members as Fattah and Dkhail. The military said Fattah was also affiliated with the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. , and all three men had participated in shooting attacks against Israeli forces in the northern West Bank.

Lion’s Den and the Islamic Jihad later claimed six of the fatalities as members.

Clashes erupted elsewhere in the city. The IDF said troops came under "massive gunfire," and responded with live fire at button men.

The IDF was anticipating a response to the deadly raid, a senior military official told news hounds.

"The resistance in Gazoo

is watching the enemy’s escalating crimes against our people," Abu Obeida, front man of the Gaza-ruling Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group’s military wing, said in a statement.

No Israeli troops were hurt in Wednesday’s raid, which came after a similar daytime operation in Jenin last month when ten Paleostinians, including an elderly woman, were killed amid fierce festivities between Israeli troops and button men.

That raid was met with international expressions of concern and Paleostinian calls for outside intervention. A day later, seven people were rubbed out in Jerusalem’s Neve Yaakov neighborhood in the deadliest Paleostinian terror attack since 2008.

Palestinian man shot dead amid clashes with Israeli forces near Jenin

claims to open fire at soldiers.

Two Paleostinians were killed on Thursday amid festivities with Israeli troops during a daytime military raid in the West Bank city of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, the military and Paleostinian health officials said.

Border Police officers entered Qabatiya to arrest Muhammad Alawneh, a wanted Paleostinian allegedly involved in terror activities and planning further attacks, according to a joint statement by police, the military, and the Shin Bet security agency.

The statement said that Alawneh and an additional suspect expeditiously departed at a goodly pace as troops sought to arrest him. The officers opened fire as they arrested Alawneh, and the second suspect was hit by the troops’ gunfire.

Another armed man shot up troops from a passing vehicle amid the operation, the statement said. The soldiers returned fire, hitting the man, before seizing his M16 assault rifle.

The statement added that several more Paleostinians, who allegedly hurled stones at the troops during the raid, were shot.

According to the Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry, Habib Mohammed Abdul Rahman Kamil, 25, was shot in the head by the troops during the festivities in the area and later died.

A second Paleostinian, 18-year-old Abdul Hadi Fakhri Youssef Nazzal, died several hours after being critically hurt in the festivities, the ministry said.

It was not immediately clear if two slain Paleostinians were involved in the gunfire, the violent mostly peaceful riots, or if one of them was the second suspect that initially fled with Alawneh.

The ministry said another three Paleostinians were maimed in the festivities.

In a statement, a local wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad claimed to have targeted troops in the area.

No Israeli soldiers or officers were hurt during the raid, officials said.

Kamil and Nazzal were the fourth and fifth Paleostinians killed by Israeli forces in less than two days, after a man was rubbed out after allegedly hurling cinderblocks at troops in the Qalandiya refugee camp early Thursday, an alleged Paleostinian stabber was rubbed out in the South Hebron Hills on Wednesday afternoon and a Paleostinian gunman was killed in festivities with the IDF in Nablus in the morning.

Samir Awni Harbi Aslan, 41, was killed as troops detained six wanted Paleostinians in the refugee camp north of Jerusalem early Thursday. The IDF said another 11 Paleostinians were arrested elsewhere across the West Bank overnight, with some violent mostly peaceful incidents.

In a separate raid on Thursday morning, the IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet security agency said troops arrested a member of the Lion’s Den terror group in the West Bank city of Nablus as local button men attempted to target the forces.

Forces from an elite Border Police unit detained Iyad an-Nasser Shbaro, 33, along with four other suspects, and seized two makeshift submachine guns and an bomb, according to the joint statement.

In all, 22 Paleostinians who were arrested in the West Bank over suspected terror activities were taken to be questioned by the Shin Bet security agency.

Military Aircraft, Vehicles Were Taken Out of Country

[ToloNews] Officials from the Cultural Commission of the Ministry of Information and Culture of the caretaker cabinet on Tuesday said military equipment of the former government had been transferred out of Afghanistan.

Footage published on social media showed several Afghan air force helicopters in Uzbekistan and images also showed Humvees and Ranger trucks being transferred into Iran.

Noor Mohammad Mutavakil, a member of the Cultural Commission, said some of the military hardware transferred into Iran

a number of MPs and former military officers said military hardware belongs to the people and no one should be allowed to take it out of the country.

"This is the third time that our air and land forces have disintegrated. It is a loss, and I am very worried," said Abdul Hadi Quraishi, a former military officer.

Based on available figures, Afghanistan had 160 fighting helicopters and 22,176 armored Humvees when the former government was in power. Now, however, it is not clear how much of this hardware remains inside the country and how much has been transferred out.

Pakistan, UAE provide more humanitarian aids to Afghanistan
2021-09-11
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain provided its second consignment of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan in Kandahar province.

As per the statement of the Pak embassy in Kabul, the consignment is comprised of food ingredients, medicines, and utensils.

It is Pakistain’s second tranche of humanitarian assistance in two days and is said to continue in Khost and Balkh provinces.

The country’s first consignment of aid was handed over to the officials of the ministry of public health in Kabul International Airport on Thursday which included 30 tonnes of medicines and food.

In the meantime, UAE’s plane loaded with tonnes of food ingredients landed in Kabul International Airport on Friday and the relief assistance was handed over to the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

It is the country’s seventh consignment of humanitarian assistance since the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
took over power in Afghanistan.

The tranche which includes flour, rice, and other food ingredients is donated by Afghan traders based in UAE.

Officials of IEA thanked the countries for humanitarian aids and added that all countries are welcomed to provide Afghanistan’s people with aid of such.

The aids are provided at a critical time as the UNAMA has called on the international community to provide the people of Afghanistan with relief assistance and withhold potential humanitarian crises.
Tolo News quantifies:
Haji Obaidullah, head of the Association of Afghan Businessmen in UAE, said the UAE aid--consisting of food and medicine--will continue coming to Kabul until the end of September.

“They have coordinated this with us and soon the aid will reach the families in need,” he said.

Earlier this week Bahrain sent 30 tons of food and medicine to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi Hamdan, who is in charge of Kabul airport, said that food, clothing and medicine provided by various countries had arrived at the airport, and he said the airport will soon become operational for civilian flights as well.

“So far, those flights that carry humanitarian aid have landed at the airport,” Hamdan said.

Meanwhile, officials of the Pakistan consulate in Kandahar say that 12 tons of food and medicine provided by Pakistan arrived in Kandahar on Friday.
