Muslim Terrorist Wannabe's Jewish Lawyer Seeks to Bar Jews from Jury |
2013-03-11 |
Frederick H. Cohn, New York lawyer for Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, recently said in court that he wants to exclude Jews from the jury that will hear Shehadeh's case. Shehadeh, 24, has been charged with lying about his alleged attempt to join the Taliban or other terrorist organization in Pakistan in 2008, and that he attempted to conceal the fact that he had traveled to Pakistan, when he later attempted to join the U.S. military. Isn't Obama concealing information about the passport he used to visit Pakistan? Guess there's one law for Obama and another law for everyone else. According to the unsealed criminal complaint, Shehadeh had planned to enlist with a terrorist organization when he traveled to Pakistan on June 13, 2008, but he was denied entrance and had to return to the United States, of which he is a citizen. Shehadeh was questioned on numerous occasions by agents from the Federal Bureu of Investigation and other law enforcement officials. Shehadeh claimed at the time that his visit to Pakistan was to look into attending an Islamic university and to attend the wedding of an acquaintance. Several weeks after his failed attempt to visit Pakistan, Shehadeh attempted to join the U.S. military, but his application was denied when it was discovered he had concealed his trip to Pakistan. Shehadeh subsequently moved to Hawaii and eventually admitted to law enforcement officials that his actual purpose in attempting to enter Pakistan was to join the Taliban or some similar terrorist organization. |

American Muslim indicted for wanting to join US military to kill soldiers |
2010-12-26 |
American Muslim indicted for wanting to join US military to kill soldiers. A US-born Muslim from Staten Island, New York, has just been indicted for lying to the FBI about his true intentions to join the US military and then start killing US soldiers. 21-year-old Abdel Hameed Shehadeh faces three terrorism-related charges that involve his plan to join the US military only so he could fight against US soldiers. According to the complaint, Shehadeh plotted to deploy with the US military to Iraq, but once there to desert the military and then fight alongside Islamic terrorists against the US. Shehadeh is also an operator of multiple, radical and violent Jihadist websites that promote terrorism against the west. The indictments from a federal grand jury only came down late yesterday, and they relate mostly to Shehadehs lying about his terrorist motives. Nonetheless, this is yet another case of a US-born Muslimwho you think should be you know assimilated and all thatrejecting his American nationality and choosing instead violent, Jihadist terrorism. The US Islamic community is always said to be better assimilated than the Islamic communities in other countries, and this is certainly true in that you dont see many, for instance, of the kinds of violent Muslim protests in the US. |

New Yorker accused of plan to attack US troops |
2010-11-04 |
[Dawn] A New York man accused of trying to join the US military with the intent of attacking US troops in Iraq did not enter a plea as he faced a US judge in New York on Tuesday. Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, 21, a US citizen, was jugged on Oct. 22 in Hawaii and transferred to the US District court in Brooklyn, where he is charged with making materially false statements in a matter involving international terrorism. He faces eight years in prison. In a brief hearing, US District Judge Ramon Reyes arraigned Shehadeh and ordered him held without bail. Shehadeh, who had shoulder-length hair and wore grey track pants, spoke only once, to answer "yes" to a judge's question. A criminal complaint said law enforcement officials had trailed Shehadeh closely and interviewed him repeatedly over the last two years. New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told news hounds last week Shehadeh was "a homegrown individual who wants to do us harm." Court documents said Shehadeh told a witness that "joining the military was an easier way to join jihad because the military would provide him with training, transportation and a weapon," the complaint said. Military recruiters ultimately rejected his application because they found he had lied about his travel history, the complaint said. Shehadeh, who lived in the New York borough of Staten Island, tried to join snuffies in Pakistain and Somalia but was denied entry. He was eventually placed on a "no fly" list, the complaint said. When authorities questioned him about his travel attempts, the complaint said, he lied about his intentions, telling them he intended to study Islam in Pakistain, not receive military training. Shehadeh also created radical websites, "which advocated violent jihad against the West," and sought to contact members of al Qaeda, the complaint said. One of his websites linked to blogs and speeches by radical American holy man Anwar al-Awlaki, believed to be in hiding in Yemen. Shehadeh told US authorities that he sent several unanswered e-mails to al-Awlaki. |

Hawaii man charged in international terrorism case |
2010-10-27 |
![]() Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, 21, was charged with making false statements in a matter involving international terrorism, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Monday in the Eastern District of New York. If convicted, Shehadeh would face a maximum sentence of eight years imprisonment. A US Department of Justice news release said Shehadeh was jugged Friday in Honolulu, and removal proceedings were scheduled to begin Monday. The US attorney's office in Honolulu referred questions concerning the case to the US attorney's office in Brooklyn, New York, which didn't immediately return an after-hours call seeking comment. It was unknown Monday night if Shehadeh had an attorney. According to the complaint, Shehadeh, a US citizen, lived on Staten Island, New York, in early 2008 when he devised a plan to travel to Pakistain to join the Taliban or a similar fighting group. To put the plan into effect, Shehadeh flew on a one-way ticket from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Islamabad, Pakistain, on June 13, 2008, the news release said. But upon landing in Pakistain, Shehadeh was denied entry by Pak officials, and he returned to the US, it said. Under questioning by FBI agents and New York police detectives, Shehadeh initially said he traveled to Pakistain to visit an Islamic university and attend a friend's wedding, the release said. The complaint alleged Shehadeh subsequently admitted to FBI agents in Hawaii that the true purpose of his trip to Pakistain was to join a fighting group such as the Taliban. The complaint also alleged Shehadeh attempted to recruit another person to join him immediately after the two discussed a sermon by radical US-born Mohammedan holy man Anwar al-Awlaki. Shehadeh later attempted to enlist in the US Army at the Times Square recruiting station in New York City, but his application was denied when it was discovered he concealed his trip to Pakistain, the complaint said. Shehadeh claimed he wanted to enlist for career opportunities and benefits, but the complaint alleged his true motive was to deploy to Iraq, where he intended to desert and fight against the US military alongside Iraqi Islamic myrmidon forces. In addition, the complaint alleged Shehadeh created and administered multiple websites dedicated to spreading violent jihadist ideology. ''As this case demonstrates, we and our partners in law enforcement are committed to preventing terrorist acts before the plots can be set in motion,'' Loretta E. Lynch, US attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said in the news release. ''We will spare no effort, and will deploy all available resources, to accomplish this mission.'' |
