Tanzim terrorist involved in bombing attacks arrested
2007-01-25
In a joint ISA and IDF operation earlier this morning in Nablus, Amar Guad Shacher Dmara, a wanted Tanzim-Fatah operative was arrested. Dmara, 26, resident of Nablus, was continuously involved in the organization of bombing attacks in Israel. The attacks were directed by the Hizbullah terrorist organization. Dmara also served as the substitute for Muhamad Amin Muhamad Ramaha, a Tanzim-Fatah operative who had also operated under the direction of the Hizbullah terrorist organization and was killed on December 14, 2007 during an attempt to arrest him.

Recently, Dmara was involved in attempts to carry out a bombing attack against Israeli civilians and led several attempts to smuggle explosive devices and explosive belts out of Nablus. He was also involved in shooting attacks and the planting of explosive devices against IDF forces operating in the area of Nablus.

The Tanzim-Fatah infrastructure in Nablus, of which Damara was a part, receives orders and direction from operatives in the Gaza Strip and from the Hizbullah terror organization. This infrastructure is one of the greatest security threats in Judea and Samaria, as its operatives continuously try to carry out bombing attacks against Israeli civilians.

Dichter: Israel still faces 50 daily terror warnings
2004-08-09
The number of Israeli civilians killed in terror attacks in the last four years is nearly equal the number killed by terrorists in the preceding 53, Shin Bet head Avi Dichter told the cabinet Sunday. Dichter told the cabinet that from November 29, 1947, when the UN voted for partition and Jewish statehood, until the start of the current violence in September 2000, some 755 Israelis were killed in terror actions here or abroad. Some 674 Israeli civilians have been killed since September 2000. Dichter said that in 2004, 22 Israelis - or some 30 percent of the total casualties so far this year - have been killed in Hizbullah directed operations, carried out by the Tanzim-Fatah faction.

The increased involvement of Hizbullah was one of the trends Dichter pointed out during his briefing to the cabinet, a briefing that some ministers complained was long on statistics, but short on depth. Dichter replied that he is unable to delve more into detail because the information he tells the cabinet is leaked to the press. He said his cabinet briefings are not substantially different from the information he gives to the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. He said that the only governmental body that receives more detailed information is the Knesset's Foreign Affairs Defense subcommittee on the secret services.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon echoed Dichter's claim, bemoaning that sensitive information is leaked from cabinet meetings. In addition to the increase of Hizbullah involvement in Palestinian terror attacks, Dichter said that there has been a substantial increase in the Palestinian use of women and children under 18 to carry out attacks. If in 2001 women and children took part in some 3% of the attacks, in 2004 they account for some 8 percent of the attacks. Dichter said this statistic reflects both the difficulty the Palestinians are having in successfully carrying out attacks involving men, and that the Palestinians are increasingly turning to "weaker and more impressionable" parts of the population for recruits. He also said that 17% of all Israelis killed since the beginning of the violence were killed in attacks involving east Jerusalem Arabs.

Expelled Palestinian arrested in Belgium
2003-12-17
One of 13 Palestinians expelled from Israel in May 2002 following the Bethlehem Basilica siege was arrested along with seven others during a police raid in the Brussels region Tuesday. Khalil Mouhammad Abdallah al-Nawawreh, 25, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in two bomb attacks carried out on post offices in Brakel and Court-Saint-Etienne in February 2003, where burglars managed to escape with EUR 213,000. Two of the eight apprehended were sent to appear before Audenarde court, and two to a Brussels court. Al-Nawawreh had been working in Belgium as a mason, was a football fan and activist in the military group Tanzim-Fatah. He had been under high surveillance upon his arrival but police interest in the man was later relaxed as he was not thought to be a threat to the community.
I try not to use bad language on this site, but somehow I can't get the expression "incompetent fucks" out of my head...

Terror machine mulling ''cease fire''
2002-07-28
Haaretz reports talks among Tanzim-Fatah representatives - and perhaps Hamas operatives as well - were resumed over the weekend, with the aim of halting terror attacks in Israel. Opposition chair MK Yossi Sarid (Meretz) was told by Palestinian officials that the talks, sponsored by Saudi Arabia and the European Union, were resumed despite the killing of Hamas leader Salah Shehadeh and at least 16 civilians in the Israeli attack in Gaza last week.
No idea whether these are genuine or pro-forma. Shehadeh getting banging may have put the fear of God into the Bigs, so it could actually be real...
The talks reportedly involve Palestinian preventative security chief Mohammed Dahlan and his men in Gaza, Hussein al-Sheikh and other Tanzim operatives in the West Bank, and Sheikh Hassan Yousouf of Hamas in the West Bank.
Thought Dahlan was Yasser's "national security advisor"?
According to Palestinian sources, Marwan Barghouti, currently in jail in Israel, has been informed and has given his blessing to the talks. Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin is also reportedly fully aware of the ongoing dialogue. Before the attack in Gaza, Tanzim-Fatah had announced that it would be ready to reduce the number of terror attacks and maybe even stop them altogether. Before the attack, there were attempts to convince Hamas to moderate its operations as well, but now Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine insist that they have a right in principle to launch terror attacks inside Israel.
That's because revenge is one of the bedrock principles of Islam...
Meanwhile, Yasser Arafat has given the Palestinian talks team a green light to resume talks with Israeli representatives on civilian, security-related and political issues, a senior source in Arafat's headquarters said last night.
"We're involved! See? Yasser's leading! Really he is!"
