Australian nurses who said they’d kill Israeli patients handed 2-year ban
2025-07-02
[IsraelTimes] Two Australian nurses who threatened to kill Israeli patients in a viral video earlier this year have been banned for two years from working under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
But not from working as nurses elsewhere in the country? That is only safe if all Australian Jews are medically disabled...
The two had been suspended from work in February after the video first surfaced. They have also been charged with federal offenses and are due to appear in court on July 29.
I suppose if convicted, they won’t be able to work as nurses outside the prison where they’re serving their sentence for the duration.
On February 12, Israeli influencer Max Veifer posted online a video chat he had with a male and a female nurse at a Sydney hospital, identified as Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh.
Mr. Veifer is not the only Israeli dialing random strangers around the world to chat. Several have been appearing regularly in my Facebook Reels feed lately — some even speak Arabic and know the Koran better than their Muslim interlocutors. It’s interesting how many of my very small sample of internet-savvy Millennial and GenZ Muslims are willing to spontaneously tell the world they love Israel and admire the Jews, or at least converse thoughtfully and politely when one appears on their computer screen.
After Veifer told them he was from Israel in the chat, Nadir responded, “I’m so upset that you’re Israeli… eventually you’re going to get killed and go to [hell].”

Abu Lebdeh said she would not treat any Israeli patients and instead would kill them. Nadir, with a threatening gesture, said he had already sent many “Israeli dog[s],” who visited the hospital, to “Jahannam,” the term for Islamic hell in Arabic.
Both were nurses at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney. Mr. Nadir is an Afghan refugee who only became an Australian citizen four years ago; Ms Abu Lebdeh is of Palestinian extraction. They were referred to the police for investigation by shocked hospital management, despite a whistleblower revealing after 10/7/2023 that staff were enthusiastic supporters of egregious anti-Israel slogans.
The video sparked outrage across Australia and the Jewish world after it was released.
It’s made me thoughtful, too…
NDIS provides medical services for Australians with significant and permanent disabilities under 65 years old.

Multibillion-dollar healthcare fraud scheme included giving people 'unnecessary' skin grafts: DOJ
2025-07-01
[FoxNews] Medicare scams allegedly included $10B catheter scheme with Russian connections and unnecessary procedures on the dying

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced sweeping charges Monday against more than 300 defendants, alleging they misled patients into paying for, and sometimes receiving, medical care that they did not need.

In turn, DOJ Criminal Division chief Matthew Galeotti said, the defendants also attempted to swindle Medicare and other taxpayer-funded and private health insurance programs out of about $14.6 billion.

The announcement marked the "largest coordinated healthcare fraud takedown in the history of the Department of Justice," Galeotti said during a press conference.

In a press release, the DOJ said 29 of the defendants were charged with alleged involvement with transnational criminal organizations and submitting over $12 billion in fraudulent claims to America’s health insurance programs.

Another 74 defendants, including 44 licensed medical professionals, were charged across 58 cases with allegedly illegally distributing 15 million prescription pill opioids and other controlled substances. For instance, five of the defendants at a Texas pharmacy are accused of unlawfully distributing over 3 million opioid pills, including oxycodone, hydrocodone and carisoprodol, which were later trafficked by drug dealers on the streets.

The DOJ said 49 defendants were charged with submitting over $1.17 billion in alleged fraudulent claims to Medicare, while an additional 170 defendants were charged with various other fraudulent schemes amounting to $1.84 billion in claims to Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies for diagnostic testing, medical visits and unnecessary treatments, sometimes for kickbacks and bribes.

"This record-setting Health Care Fraud Takedown delivers justice to criminal actors who prey upon our most vulnerable citizens and steal from hardworking American taxpayers," Attorney General Pamela Bondi said. "Make no mistake – this administration will not tolerate criminals who line their pockets with taxpayer dollars while endangering the health and safety of our communities."

One set of charges included, for example, an indictment against three defendants in Arizona who allegedly conspired to purchase and give elderly Medicare recipients skin grafts known as "amniotic wound allografts." The defendants allegedly reaped millions of dollars from the practice.

One of the defendants, a nurse practitioner, applied the grafts to patients even though they were "medically unreasonable and unnecessary," the indictment said. The nurse allegedly applied them to terminally ill patients in hospice, including some who were days away from dying.

While that specific medical practice is typically non-invasive, Galeotti noted it was part of a $1 billion healthcare fraud scheme that stripped patients of "dignity and peace" in their final days.

One DOJ official said in response to a question from Fox News Digital that skin grafts were an "emerging area" of healthcare fraud, "especially given the significant amount of money that they can bill for sometimes in excess of $1,000 a square centimeter."

The healthcare fraud cases, all of which were shared publicly online, spanned the country and globe. Defendants included medical supply company owners and medical professionals, including 25 doctors.

An FBI official announced at the press conference that one scheme, called "Operation Gold Rush," resulted in at least 20 members of a transnational criminal organization, including defendants based in Russia, being charged as part of a $10 billion Medicare and money laundering operation that centered on catheters.

The group behind the scheme, authorities said, used foreign straw owners to secretly buy dozens of medical supply companies before using stolen identities and confidential health data to create and file false $10.6 billion in claims with Medicare.

The DOJ said 19 defendants were arrested for their involvement in the scheme, 12 of whom have been arrested. Of the 12, four were apprehended in Estonia as a result of international cooperation with Estonian law enforcement. Seven of the defendants were arrested at U.S. airports and the U.S. border.

[American Thinker] Most of us are old enough to remember Ann Coulter. Back in the early days of this here century, Coulter briefly cut a gigantic figure within the American Right. Many found her good-looking (no rarity among con women, it’s true) with traditional WASP features and a mane of blonde hair, though others found her a trifle horse-faced. For a time, it seemed possible that she’d attain a status second only to El Rushbo himself. She appeared on the covers of national magazines, became a go-to source for quotes, and was profiled and tracked in the gossip columns. For a year or two, Coulter appeared unstoppable.

Then it all started to fall apart, thanks largely due to her inability to control the mean-girl aspects of her persona. Coulter’s default was nastiness greater than was strictly called for. The most notorious example involved John Edwards, a confused and not-quite-competent Democrat pol who was somehow maneuvered into taking the VP slot next to the walking target Al Gore. When asked what she thought of Edwards, she had one response: "Faggot."

The comment was out of line and resulted in immediate blowback. Edwards, while gifted with bland Midwestern good looks, had no gay mannerisms or queeny aspects. In fact, when scandal did break, it was of the exact opposite nature: Edwards had knocked up a staffer while on the campaign trail. To his credit, Edwards left public life, presumably to help raise the child and take the pressure off the young woman, by all indications a rather neurotic and needy type. He came out looking better than he likely deserved.

As opposed to Coulter, who didn’t seem to grasp the fact that plenty of gays have conservative instincts and needed to be cultivated, not driven away. Dave Rubin, Link Lauren, and Tammy Bruce can all serve as exemplars of gay conservatism.

But her real downfall came, along with so many others, with the advent of Donald Trump. Coulter had no use for Trump and made that fact quite clear. Her beef involved illegal immigration, for she was angry that Trump had failed to build a ten-story-high two-thousand-mile-long border wall on the first day he was in office. Coulter came across as somebody who didn’t understand the Constitution or quite grasp the fact that Trump wasn’t elected dictator, but instead had to work within a system designed to prevent sudden dislocations, and one furthermore that was largely devoted to working against him.

Coulter wouldn’t back off , and her already damaged brand faded still further. MAGA masses wouldn’t touch her. Today, she is effectively forgotten, unquoted, and unacknowledged. I was quite surprised to learn that she still has a column that appears here and there.

(Matt Drudge’s career followed a similar trajectory, sliding from mammoth influence to irrelevance, and for largely the same reason: a world-class case of TDS.)

At least 12 injured in knife attack at Hamburg train station: emergency services
2025-05-24
[GEO.TV] A knife attack at the main station in the German city of Hamburg left at least 12 people injured with some of them in a life-threatening condition, local emergency services said.

"According to initial information, a person injured several people with a knife at the main train station," Hamburg police said in a post on X.

"The suspect was apprehended by the responding forces."

A front man for the Hamburg fire department told AFP that 12 people had been injured in the attack.

Among them were "six people with life-threatening injuries", the front man said.

Some of the victims were being treated in trains, according to the German daily Bild.

Germany has been rocked by a series of violent mostly peaceful attacks in recent months.

On Sunday, four people were maimed in a stabbing at a bar in the city of Bielefeld.

The investigation into the attack had been handed over to federal prosecutors after the suspect in the attack told the coppers who arrested him that he had murderous Moslem beliefs.
The Times of Israel adds:
German police on Friday said they had arrested a woman after at least 17 people were maimed in a knife attack at the main station in the northern city of Hamburg.

Some of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries in the stabbing, which took place in the middle of the city’s evening rush hour, emergency services said.

The suspect, a 39-year-old German woman,
…which does not tell us whether she was Moslem, nuts, or both…
was arrested at the scene by law enforcement, a Hamburg police front man said said.

Officers "approached her, and the woman allowed herself to be arrested without resistance," Florian Abbenseth told journalists in comments carried by public broadcaster ARD.

"We have no evidence so far that the woman may had a political motive," Abbenseth said.

"Rather, we have information based on which we now want to investigate whether she may have been experiencing a psychological emergency."

The suspect was thought to have "acted alone," Hamburg police said in a post on X.

Four of them had suffered life-threatening injuries, the front man said, revising down an initial figure.

A previous statement by the fire department said six people were in a life-threatening condition.

Among the 17 victims were six severely injured people and seven people with light injuries, the front man for the fire department said.

The attack was reported by German media to have taken place just after 6:00 p.m. local time on one of the platforms in front of a standing train.

The suspect was thought to have turned "against passengers" at the station, a spokeswoman for the Hanover federal police directorate, which also covers Hamburg, told AFP.

Twelve people are injured and three of them are in “mortal danger” after a mass stabbing at Germany’s Hamburg Central railway station.

Update 2100 — Four are in critical condition

A clearer picture of today’s mass stabbing in Germany is developing, with Die Welt reporting the number of known injured has risen to four in critical condition. A further six are seriously injured and seven more suffering light wounds. 17 in all were injured.

The attack is the second mass stabbing in Germany in a matter of days. As previously reported, a stabbing in the early hours of Sunday morning in Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, allegedly by a Syrian migrant was days later classified as a possible terror attack after Islamist literature was found on the attacker and at his home. As well as using a knife, the man is alleged to have wielded a spear and a bottle of petrol.

More from Breitbart about the Bielefeld attack:
A Syrian migrant, identified 35-year-old as Mahmoud Mhemed, was arrested on Monday by police on attempted murder charges in relation to a mass stabbing in Bielefeld in North Rhine-Westphalia. Five people were injured, and four of them seriously: the German Justice minister revealed they “barely escaped with their lives”.

The bar where the attack took place said in a social media post that one of those “critically injured” men had been a member of the public who had bravely fought the knifeman to end the attack. They said: “Had it not been for him, things would probably have been even worse”.

Now the investigation into that attack has been taken over by the Federal Prosecutor on suspicion of a religious terrorism motive. Per a report by Germany’s Die Welt, they believe they have found evidence for Islamism, that the suspect had an interest in the Islamic State, and had been in contact with a known Islamist fundamentalist.

It is stated the attack, which took place at a bar in the city, saw football fans attacked by a man wielding a knife and a home made spear, being a knife tied to a pole. A group of patrons fought back, causing the suspect to flee. As previously reported, the man dropped a bag containing “multiple knives, a liquid that smelled of gasoline, and personal documents indicating Syrian nationality”.

Zeit states a spokesman for the Federal Prosecutor, which has specialist counter-terror investigators and takes suspected terror cases over from local non-specialised prosecutors, who said the mass stabbing is being treated as an attack on Germany’s liberal democratic order and that at the time of the suspect’s arrest “a document was found on him that suggests the crime may have been religiously motivated.”

Further, images concerning Hezbollah and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are said to have been found at the suspect’s apartment.

Suspect Mhemed entered Europe through the territory of Turkey and was granted temporary refugee status by the German Migration Office in 2023. Earlier reports that he had no police record have been superseded, Focus reports, noting he had previously been investigated for “politically motivated crime” .

He was arrested on Monday after leading police on a 100 mile chase through Germany, taking several trains and other public transport from Bielefeld to Essen and to other towns beyond, finally being found in an apartment of a relative in Heiligenhaus.

Assailant who stabbed author Salman Rushdie sentenced to 25 years
2025-05-17
[IsraelTimes] The man who stabbed and partially blinded novelist Salman Rushdie onstage at a Western New York arts institute in 2022 was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Friday for an attack that also maimed a second man, the district attorney says.

Rushdie, 77, has faced death threats since the 1988 publication of his novel "The Satanic Verses," which Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, then Iran’s supreme leader, denounced as blasphemous, leading to a call for Rushdie’s death, an edict known as a fatwa.

Hadi Matar, 27, a US citizen from Fairview, New Jersey, was found guilty in February of attacking the author in the Chautauqua County Court in Mayville, New York. He faced a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison on the attempted murder charge.

Video that captured the assault shows Matar rushing the Chautauqua Institution’s stage as Rushdie was being introduced to the audience for a talk about keeping writers safe from harm. Some of the video was shown to the jury during the seven days of testimony.

"He’s traumatized. He has nightmares about what he experienced," Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt says after the sentencing hearing, referring to what Rushdie suffered.

"Obviously this is a major setback for an individual who was starting to emerge in his very later years of life into society after going into hiding after the fatwa."

Also hurt in the attack was Henry Reese, co-founder of Pittsburgh’s City of Asylum, a nonprofit that helps exiled writers. He was conducting the talk with Rushdie that morning.

Schmidt said Matar was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the second degree attempted murder charge stemming from the attack against Rushdie and seven years for a second degree assault charged for the stabbing of Reese. The sentences will run concurrently.

Rushdie, an atheist born into a Moslem Kashmiri family in India, was stabbed with a knife multiple times in the head, neck, torso and left hand. The attack blinded his right eye and damaged his liver and intestines, requiring emergency surgery and months of recovery.

Matar did not testify at his trial. His defense lawyers told jurors that the prosecutors had failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the necessary criminal intent to kill needed for a conviction of attempted murder, and argued that he should have been charged with assault.

Matar’s attorney Nathaniel Barone said his client will file an appeal.

"I know if he had the opportunity, he would not be sitting where he’s sitting today. And if he could change things, he would," Barone said.

Matar also faces federal charges brought by prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office in Western New York, accusing him of attempting to murder Rushdie as an act of terrorism. Prosecutors accuse him of providing material support to Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
’s bully boy Hezbollah group, which the US. has designated as a terrorist organization.

Matar is due to face those charges at a separate trial in Buffalo.
More from the Times of Israel:
Hadi Matar, 27, stood quietly as the judge pronounced the sentence. He did not deny attacking Rushdie, and when he was invited to address the court before being sentenced, Matar got in a few last insults at the writer. He said he believed in freedom of speech but called Rushdie “a hypocrite.”

“Salman Rushdie wants to disrespect other people,” said Matar, clad in white-striped jail clothing and wearing handcuffs. “He wants to be a bully, he wants to bully other people. I don’t agree with that.”

Video of the assault, captured by the venue’s cameras and played at trial, shows Matar approaching the seated Rushdie from behind and reaching around him to stab at his torso with a knife. As the audience gasps and screams, Rushdie is seen raising his arms and rising from his seat, walking and stumbling for a few steps with Matar hanging on, swinging and stabbing until they both fall and are surrounded by onlookers who rush in to separate them.

A jury found Matar guilty of attempted murder and assault in February after deliberating for less than two hours.

Judge David Foley told Matar that he thought it was notable that he had chosen to try and kill Rushdie at the Chautauqua Institution, a summer retreat that prides itself on the free exchange of ideas.

“We all have the right to have our own ideals; we all have the right to carry them,” Foley said. “But when you interfere with someone else’s ability to do that by committing a violent act, in the United States of America, that has to be an answerable crime.”

Matar’s lawyer, Nathaniel Barone, had asked the judge for a sentence of around 12 years, citing his lack of a previous criminal record.

Matar next faces a US federal trial on terrorism-related charges. While the first, state-level trial focused mostly on the details of the knife attack itself, the next one is expected to delve into the more complicated issue of motive. He has pleaded not guilty. If convicted of the federal charges, Matar faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Authorities said Matar, a dual American-Lebanese citizen, was attempting to carry out a decades-old fatwa, or Islamic legal ruling, when he traveled from his home in Fairview, New Jersey, to target Rushdie at the summer retreat about 70 miles (110 kilometers) southwest of Buffalo.

Matar believed the fatwa that called for Rushdie’s death, first issued by Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1989, was backed by Iran’s Lebanese proxy Hezbollah and endorsed in a 2006 speech by the group’s slain chief Hassan Nasrallah, according to US federal prosecutors.

Khomeini had issued the fatwa after the publication of Rushdie’s novel, “The Satanic Verses,” which some Muslims consider blasphemous. Rushdie spent years in hiding, but after Iran announced it would not enforce the decree, he traveled freely over the past quarter century.

Terrifying threat from America's Muslim capital as residents vow to 'take down the empire'
2025-04-17
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A keffiyeh-clad attendee at a pro-Palestine fundraiser in Michigan vowed that people at the event are willing to fight and die to bring down the 'American empire.'

A resurfaced video shared by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) shows a man at the Stories for Liberation event in Dearborn Heights on February 7 called for the United States to be brought down.

The event, hosted by the Palestinian Youth Movement at Newora Cafe, was a poetry night and raffle fundraiser to 'strengthen the steadfastness of the people of Gaza.'

Dearborn Heights - as well as the neighboring city of Dearborn - have some of the highest populations of Muslims in the United States.

Dearborn was dubbed the U.S. 'Jihad Capital' by The Wall Street Journal and made headlines last year when protesters at a pro-Palestine rally chanted 'death to America.'

The video showed the attendee promising to work towards and even sacrifice themselves to end America.

'We do feel like change needs to come, because change must come. And in the form that it must come is that this empire, the American empire that's been hurting our people since the beginning, the imperial Western powers that have been hurting our people since the beginning, they must fall,' the man said.

'And inshallah, inshallah, they will fall. And my message to people of Gaza and oppressed people across the world is that there are people here, both young and old, who are going to be willing to fight and are willing to put their lives and everything they can on the line to bring these empires down. Because they must come down.'

The alarming message sparked immediate backlash online, with some calling for the federal government to investigate his claims.

'This guy is speaking calmly & clearly & the lady next to him had that Squeaky look in her eyes. TRUST he means what he’s saying people,' actor Michael Rapaport said.

'I’ll never get used to the hypocrisy of the people calling for the fall of America while living in America - particularly the ones that moved here,' said another.

A third person said, 'I have such a tough time understanding this. How do you live in America, benefit from everything it offers, but then want it to fall? Why not just go live in a country that has the qualities you desire?'

'These people are dangerous hateful idiots,' added a fourth.

Even those who said they are pro-Palestine slammed the man for his beliefs claiming he is hurting the movement.

'You're going to get Dearborn blown up. We're with you on stopping our Country from being complicit in genocide, but the stand you're taking is making it a no choice situation,' one person said.

'We don't want your ideology or Israel's. We want to restore the Constitutional Republic.'

Donald Trump won Michigan in the 2024 election after attending a campaign event with Dearborn Heights Mayor Bill Bazzi and local Imam Belal Alzuhairi in October.

'We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war,' Alzuhairi told the crowd of a few thousand, who cheered loudly.

'The bloodshed has to stop all over the world. And I think this man can make that happen. I personally believe that God saved his life twice for a reason.'

Many voters in Dearborn refused to vote in the primaries because residents are fiercely divided over the war in Gaza.

Russia-linked hackers targeting European diplomats with invites to bogus wine tasting events
2025-04-17
[FoxNews] APT29 hacking group is believed to be connected to Russian intelligence services

A Russia-linked hacking group unleashed a new "advanced phishing campaign" targeting European diplomats with invites to fake wine tasting events, according to a report.

Check Point Research said the APT29 group is trying to "impersonate a major European Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send out invitations to wine tasting events, prompting targets to click a web link leading to the deployment of a new backdoor [malware] called GRAPELOADER."

"This campaign appears to be focused on targeting European diplomatic entities, including non-European countries’ embassies located in Europe," the cybersecurity firm said in an advisory, noting that the emails with malicious links included subject lines such as "Wine tasting event (update date)," "For Ambassador’s Calendar" and "Diplomatic dinner."

The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said last year that APT29, which also goes by the names of Midnight Blizzard, the Dukes, or Cozy Bear, is "a cyber espionage group, almost certainly part of the SVR, an element of the Russian intelligence services."

In Brussels schools, students equating Gaza war with Holocaust stymie remembrance
2025-04-16
Not just Brussels or Belgium, but all of Moslem-colonized Europe. Not to mention all the non-Moslem historical facts these colonists refuse to allow to be taught, often with violence or the threat thereof, to terrorize the conquered.
[IsraelTimes] Educators struggle to teach about genocide of six million Jews, feel helpless against pushback; some students avoid showing up for trips to Jewish museum, synagogues

A few months ago in Brussels, Arthur Langerman was telling high school pupils about losing family members in the Holocaust and escaping a Nazi raid himself, when he was cut short by two Moslem teens wanting to talk about Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
"It’s a genocide, and it’s been happening for 75 years," interjected one of the young women, triggering a heated back-and-forth about the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.

For their history teacher, Olivier Blairon, the scene sums up how hard it is to teach the genocide of six million Jews during World War II since the devastating Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
-led invasion of southern Israel on October 7, 2023, that triggered the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Blairon works in a large high school in the Brussels district of Koekelberg, home to a large community of Moroccan descent, where he said many students "identify with the violence suffered by Gazooks."

"I have heard antisemitic remarks," Blairon said. "Some of my students mix things up" by equating all Jews with Israel, he said. Some are also deliberately "provocative."

"So I take the time to unpick their preconceptions," he said.

Blairon’s students made up the lion’s share of youths present at the encounter with the 82-year-old Langerman, which AFP attended at the Belgian capital’s secular Jewish community center, the CCLJ.

"The October 7 attacks highlighted how hard it has become to talk about the Holocaust," said the center’s co-director, Nicolas Zomersztajn.

"It’s more complicated in the current context," said Zomersztajn, who laments how the Jewish community is constantly being asked to take a stance on the war in Gaza.

At the Brussels Jewish Museum, where four people were killed in a jihadist attack in 2014, a handful of school outings were canceled in the immediate aftermath of October 7.

Some students report sick on the day of a visit or find a way to avoid going on to see a nearby synagogue, said Frieda Van Camp, who works in the museum’s education department.

HATE MESSAGES
Antisemitism has been surging worldwide on a scale unseen in recent memory since the war in Gaza was sparked by the Hamas attack that killed some 1,200 people in Israel, mostly civilians. Over 5,000 Death Eaters burst across the border in a murderous rampage in which they also kidnapped 251 as hostages to Gaza, where 59 are still held captive.

Israel responded with a military campaign to destroy Hamas, remove it from power in Gaza, and secure the release of the hostages.

The Belgian anti-discrimination body Unia recorded 91 antisemitic incidents between October 7 and December 7, 2023 — compared to 57 for the whole of the previous year.

Most involved online hate messages directed at the Jewish community, which numbers around 30,000.

A May 2024 poll found that around one in seven Belgians felt "antipathy" toward Jews.

Antisemitic prejudice was disproportionate among people on the far left, far right, and in Moslem communities, the poll of 1,000 adults found.

When it comes to talking about Jews and the Holocaust in Brussels schools, "you can feel people tense up," said Ina Van Looy, who is in charge of a project combating discrimination at the CCLJ.

"For some teachers, it has become difficult to take their students to any kind of Jewish site," she said.

"Some teachers are completely overwhelmed by the way students get their information and how they talk about the conflict" between Israel and the Paleostinians, she said. "Many of them feel helpless."

During the talk with Langerman, it was Van Looy who stepped in to calm things down after the discussion turned to Gaza.

Afterward, it was agreed that she would visit the Koekelberg school to talk about the notion of genocide.

"These young people are hurt, they are angry. We have to listen to them," she told AFP.

NOT BEING ’SILENCED’
In Belgium, all students are formally taught about the Nazi’s systematic slaughter of Europe’s Jews by the end of high school.

Schools organize trips from primary upwards to Holocaust memorial sites, such as Fort Breendonk near Antwerp or the Kazerne Dossin transit camp in Mechelen, where the country’s Jews were rounded up for deportation.

And pupils in Brussels regularly take part in inaugurating new "stolpersteine" or "stumbling stones" on the city’s sidewalks, in memory of Jews murdered in the Nazi death camps.

Between 1942 and 1944, some 25,000 Jews were deported from Belgium to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in Poland. Fewer than 2,000 survived.

But in the past few months, two primary school headteachers from Anderlecht, another Brussels district with a large Moslem population, decided their students would not take part in unveiling new stones.

They thought "it was not fair to impose that on students and parents" at the height of the Gaza conflict, said Bella Swiatlowski, of the Belgian association for the memory of the Holocaust.

Neither head teacher wanted to discuss the issue when contacted by AFP.

Finally, the mayor of Anderlecht stepped in and found a way for the two schools to be represented at the inauguration ceremony in January.

That same month, dozens of primary and secondary schoolchildren took part in another "stumbling stone" inauguration marking 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz, laying a white rose on the ground in a solemn and moving ceremony.

She is what people think of when they talk about moderate Moslems…
the Algerian-born deputy mayor of Brussels in charge of public education, paid tribute to the “courage” of teachers who refuse to “be silenced” on teaching the Holocaust.

“A small minority of teachers are fearful of tackling the subject,” she said. “We need to give them the tools to do so.”

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is in attendance, as well as Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani, Tehran Times reports.

Many hold placards demanding "Death to America" and "Death to Israel," and are chanting anti-US and anti-Israel slogans, an AFP journalist says.

"Your march on Quds Day will nullify all the enemies’ tricks and false words," Khamenei said in a video message yesterday.

Quds (Jerusalem) Day commemorations were launched in 1979 by the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

The marches call for Jerusalem to be returned to the Paleostinians and are traditionally held on the last Friday of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan.

Second Australian nurse charged for threatening to kill Israeli patients in viral clip
2025-03-05
[IsraelTimes] A second Australian nurse has been charged over alleged antisemitic threats made in an online video chat with an Israeli influencer, police say.

Footage posted to social media last month by Israeli content creator Max Veifer allegedly showed a male and a female nurse making antisemitic remarks as they spoke to him from their Sydney hospital.
… the story of Israeli Max Veifer randomly video-calling Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh, both nurses at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney.
The 27-year-old male nurse, Ahmad Rashad Nadir, was arrested Tuesday and charged with using a carriage service to menace or harass, as well as one count of illegal drug possession, police say in a statement.

He was given bail until a Sydney court hearing scheduled for March 19.

Last week, police charged the other nurse at the southwest Sydney hospital — 26-year-old Sarah Abu Lebdeh — with three counts including using a carriage service to threaten to kill.

She is also due in court on March 19.

“Detectives have overcome many challenges — including huge public expectation — to put these individuals before the court,” says New South Wales police commissioner Karen Webb.

The two nurses were removed from their jobs in February over the video.

[JPost] The followup
Twenty-six-year-old nurse Sarah Abu Lebdeh
… Ms Abu Lebdeh is a hijabi of Palestinian extraction who reacted viciously to unexpectedly finding herself Facetiming handsome Israeli Max Veifer, much to the shock of Bankstown Hospital management, despite the fact that a whistleblower had reported after 10/7 that the hospital was rife with the nastiest kind of anti-Jewish sentiment….
was arrested on Tuesday and charged with threatening violence, using a carriage service to threaten to kill, and using a carriage service to menace.

A Sydney area nurse was charged for threatening to kill Israeli patients in a viral video that created a massive uproar around the world, the New South Wales Police Force announced on Wednesday.

Twenty-six-year-old Bankstown Hospital nurse Sarah Abu Lebdeh was arrested on Tuesday and charged with threatening violence to a group, using a carriage service to threaten to kill, and using a carriage service to menace.

The Condell Park woman was granted conditional bail and is set to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on March 19.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said in a statement that the antisemitic task force had exhaustively investigated the incident, in which Abu Lebdeh wished a harsh death on Israeli influencer Max Veifer that she wouldn't treat Israeli patients but instead would "kill them."

"Strike Force Pearl detectives must be commended for acting swiftly under enormous pressure and public expectation," Webb said of the antisemitism task force established in December to address rising antisemitic incidents in New South Wales. "These charges have been laid following a lot of hard work and legal advice, received yesterday from the Commonwealth DPP [Director of Public Prosecutions]."
