[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced the defendants in the case of the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport to terms of 11 to 11 years and 6 months in prison. Among those convicted is the only woman among all the defendants, Patimat Sharudinova.
As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the first hearing in the Stavropol Regional Court on the case against four natives of Dagestan took place on December 3, 2024.
Today, the Stavropol Regional Court announced the verdict for four more residents of Dagestan in the case of the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport. Devletkhan Ramazanov, Gadzhi Imanmurzaev, Asker Budaykhanov and Patimat Sharudinova were found guilty of organizing mass riots and violating transport security. They received sentences ranging from 11 to 11.5 years, the Stavropol Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on its Telegram channel.
According to the investigation, on October 29, 2023, all four came to the Makhachkala airport, where riots were taking place "based on national and religious hatred and hostility towards Israeli citizens" due to the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv. There they "refused to comply with the lawful demands of law enforcement officers, took part in mass riots accompanied by violence and destruction of property," but their specific actions are not named.
A RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies reported that Sharudinova is the only woman involved in the cases of unrest at Uytash airport.
This trial can be called the most important, since in the dock there are natives of Dagestan, who are accused not just of participating, but of organizing the riots, the chairman of the Dagestan POC Shamil Khadulaev said earlier. "It seems that they want to make these people the main culprits, although many questions arise in general about this case. One of such episodes is the accusation against Gadzhi Imanmurzaev. There is a video in which you can hear him calling on people to calm down, trying to stop what is happening. But the investigation believes that he is the organizer and did not want to stop, but, on the contrary, provoked the riots," Khadulaev told the "Caucasian Knot".
"(Sharudinova) waved a flag and did nothing else. Putting her in jail for these actions is a very big mistake. Especially since she is a woman, disabled and the mother of a minor child," said former member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan Arsen Magomedov.

Investigators said they completed probes into the participation of 139 in the events.
Three additional people, whom they say had organized the riots via posts on a Telegram channel, were put on Russia’s wanted list.
The 135 convicted people were given prison terms ranging from six and a half to 15 years for participating in mass riots and other crimes. Investigators did not name the people or say how they pleaded.
In January, four members of the mob were sentenced to a decade in a penal colony. In August, five rioters were sentenced to jail terms ranging from six to nine years.
Video footage at the time showed the protesters, mostly young men, waving Paleostinian flags, breaking down glass doors and running through the airport shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is great).
More than 20 people were maimed before security forces could contain the unrest. No passengers on the plane were hurt.
