Four airport rioters convicted in Dagestan
2025-07-19
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced the defendants in the case of the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport to terms of 11 to 11 years and 6 months in prison. Among those convicted is the only woman among all the defendants, Patimat Sharudinova.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the first hearing in the Stavropol Regional Court on the case against four natives of Dagestan took place on December 3, 2024.

Today, the Stavropol Regional Court announced the verdict for four more residents of Dagestan in the case of the pogrom at the Makhachkala airport. Devletkhan Ramazanov, Gadzhi Imanmurzaev, Asker Budaykhanov and Patimat Sharudinova were found guilty of organizing mass riots and violating transport security. They received sentences ranging from 11 to 11.5 years, the Stavropol Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, on October 29, 2023, all four came to the Makhachkala airport, where riots were taking place "based on national and religious hatred and hostility towards Israeli citizens" due to the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv. There they "refused to comply with the lawful demands of law enforcement officers, took part in mass riots accompanied by violence and destruction of property," but their specific actions are not named.

A RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies reported that Sharudinova is the only woman involved in the cases of unrest at Uytash airport.

This trial can be called the most important, since in the dock there are natives of Dagestan, who are accused not just of participating, but of organizing the riots, the chairman of the Dagestan POC Shamil Khadulaev said earlier. "It seems that they want to make these people the main culprits, although many questions arise in general about this case. One of such episodes is the accusation against Gadzhi Imanmurzaev. There is a video in which you can hear him calling on people to calm down, trying to stop what is happening. But the investigation believes that he is the organizer and did not want to stop, but, on the contrary, provoked the riots," Khadulaev told the "Caucasian Knot".

"(Sharudinova) waved a flag and did nothing else. Putting her in jail for these actions is a very big mistake. Especially since she is a woman, disabled and the mother of a minor child," said former member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan Arsen Magomedov.

, which had begun a few weeks earlier when the terror group launched the October 7 massacre.

Investigators said they completed probes into the participation of 139 in the events.

Three additional people, whom they say had organized the riots via posts on a Telegram channel, were put on Russia’s wanted list.

The 135 convicted people were given prison terms ranging from six and a half to 15 years for participating in mass riots and other crimes. Investigators did not name the people or say how they pleaded.

In January, four members of the mob were sentenced to a decade in a penal colony. In August, five rioters were sentenced to jail terms ranging from six to nine years.

Video footage at the time showed the protesters, mostly young men, waving Paleostinian flags, breaking down glass doors and running through the airport shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is great).

More than 20 people were maimed before security forces could contain the unrest. No passengers on the plane were hurt.

Veterans cross border for forbidden psychedelic treatment that's changing lives after combat
2025-07-18
[FoxNews] As desperate veterans crossed into Mexico to try a promising psychedelic drug, a battle over the same substance raged on in Texas.

Ibogaine – a plant-based extract that originates from the African iboga shrub – is a psychedelic drug and has been championed by a coalition of military heroes who swear by its benefits.

For the last few years, veterans have been traveling south of the border to try the drug for PTSD and traumatic brain injury treatment and have returned with remarkable stories of healing — but, here in the U.S., the drug can neither be bought nor taken.

In fact, even studying it poses a challenge, but Texas sought to change that with a bill to make the Lone Star State the international leader in ibogaine research.

"There is obviously a medical use for this. We sent 1,000 warfighters down to Mexico to be treated, and we know how they're coming back and how they're healed," former Texas Gov. Rick Perry said in the Fox Nation exclusive "Ibogaine: The Fight of a Lifetime," hosted by Fox News' Will Cain.

The longest-serving governor in Lone Star State history is one of several personalities featured in the special, which debuted on the streaming platform this Thursday and explores the fight to open up a clinical investigation into the schedule I substance in Texas.

Schedule I, as classified under the Controlled Substances Act signed by President Richard Nixon in the early 1970s, means the substance serves no medical purpose and is addictive in nature.

Perry says ibogaine is neither of those and is instead crucial for saving the lives of veterans with invisible wounds.

Marine veterans Gary Hess, Jon Stevens and Tyler Kotulka, Navy veteran Chris Fettes and others who suffered from PTSD, concussions, TBIs and other traumatic injuries, share their stories in the episode, detailing the battles warfighters face at home.

Evidence pointing to ibogaine's medicinal value would mean its current scheduling is inaccurate, but getting the drug's scheduling changed poses another challenge.

"The problem is, you can't approve a schedule I drug while it's [still] schedule I," explained Dr. Nolan Williams, a researcher at Stanford Medicine. He says the substance has been recognized as a therapeutic for more than 100 years, but hangups still surround it today.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott expanded ibogaine research opportunities earlier this year by signing Senate Bill 2308, which covers the same core policy as HB 3717.

"Texas is home to more veterans than any other state," Abbott said, per a press release from his office.

"Many of those veterans suffer from injuries both seen and unseen. A therapy that has shown great promise in treating those conditions is ibogaine. This law authorizes a Food and Drug Administration approved clinical drug trial that will seek approval of ibogaine as a medication for the treatment of opioid use disorder and other behavioral health conditions, especially those suffered by our veterans. Texas will now lead the way in America for the evaluation of ibogaine as a potential medication that can help improve the lives of so many veterans."

Soros machine hands Mamdani millions for his socialist quest for control of New York City - American Thinker
2025-07-17
[AMERICANTHINKER] Investigative reporter Paul Sperry has uncovered an interesting fact about leftist mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani:

BREAKING: Alex Soros has funneled $24 mil to the NYC mayoral campaign of Muslim Zohran Mamdani thru his fundraising arm Working Families, which means Soros' wife HUMA ABEDIN,whose parents are Muslim Brotherhood, "will control the mayor of NY," a lawyer investigating Abedin told me
— Paul Sperry (@paulsperry_) July 12, 2025

The New York Post reported something similar:

Socialist Zohran Mamdani has declared billionaires shouldn't exist, but it's unlikely he'd be the front-runner to become the Big Apple's next mayor if it wasn't for one — far-left kingmaker George Soros, financial records reviewed by The Post show.
...
... in less than a decade, Soros' ultra-woke grant-making network Open Society Foundation has indirectly funneled a combined $37 million to the Working Families Party and at least other nine left-wing groups whose endorsements and get-out-the-vote groundwork played a pivotal role in helping Mamdani upset ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary, the foundation's records show.

So this freak is no maverick. He's not a fresh face, an independent voice, a new political concept. He's a creature of the tired old Soros project, a pawn, a foot soldier in the great Soros quest to dismantle rule of law and create chaos, just as the Soros catspaws have done in virtually all blue cities where Soros-backed district attorneys no longer prosecute crime, and in blue states where Soros-backed secretaries of states preside over elections filled with fraud and long, long delays in counting.

Now the Soros plan is to take mayoralties, the better to finish off cities in ways district attorneys and secretaries of state cannot.

Yet they present this boob as an independent. He's a puppet on some strings.

The New York Post notes the irony of Soros backing a candidate who professes to want no billionaires to exist. But billionaires can always escape the consequences of such demagogues, free as they are to park and move money around the globe. It's always the little guy who takes the consequences of this doggerel against 'the rich' as any Venezuelan can tell you. Under communist regimes, the billionaires exist just fine -- as the nomenklatura ruling the government or else the rootless globalist class of the Klaus Schwab variety.

Sperry notes the additional detail that Huma Abedin, who must be viewing control of the New York City mayor's office with irony given that she almost had it when she was married to Anthony Weiner, and now sees it within reach again, has ties to Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, as does Mamdani himself. That's an ugly twist, if not the center of the plot.

Yemen fighters claim seizure of Iranian-supplied Houthi weapons

A short video package released by the force appeared to show anti-ship missiles, the same kinds used in the Houthis' recent attacks that sank two ships in the Red Sea, killing at least four people as others remain missing.

The footage also appeared to show Iranian-made Type 358 anti-aircraft missiles. The Houthis claim they downed 26 U.S. MQ-9 drones over the past decade of the Yemen war, likely with those missiles. The majority of those losses having been acknowledged by the U.S. military.

The footage also appeared to show drone components, warheads and other weapons. The force said it would release a detailed statement in the coming hours.

intends to keep fighting in Ukraine until the West engages on his terms for peace, unfazed by Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
's threats of tougher sanctions, and his territorial demands may widen as Russian forces advance, three sources close to the Kremlin said.

Putin, who ordered Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022 after eight years of fighting in country's east between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian troops, believes Russia's economy and its military are strong enough to weather any additional Western measures, the sources said.

Trump on Monday expressed frustration with Putin's refusal to agree a ceasefire and announced a wave of weapons supplies to Ukraine, including Patriot surface-to-air missile systems. He also threatened further sanctions on Russia unless a peace deal was reached within 50 days.

The three Russian sources, familiar with top-level Kremlin thinking, said Putin will not stop the war under pressure from the West and believes Russia — which has survived the toughest sanctions imposed by the West — can endure further economic hardship, including threatened US tariffs targeting buyers of Russian oil.

"Putin thinks no one has seriously engaged with him on the details of peace in Ukraine — including the Americans — so he will continue until he gets what he wants," one of the sources told Rooters on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.

Despite several telephone calls between Trump and Putin, and visits to Russia by US special envoy Steve Witkoff, the Russian leader believes there have not been detailed discussions of the basis for a peace plan, the source said.

Justice Ministry says NGO linked to Ra’am party gave funds to terror-supporting groups
2025-07-15
[IsraelTimes] Report finds ‘Aid 48’ NGO, linked to Mansour Abbas’s Islamist party, sent money to West Bank charities proscribed by Defense Ministry; bereaved families group wants criminal probe

The Justice Ministry, in a letter from July 7 that was published on Monday, said it found grounds to dissolve the "Aid 48" association, a nonprofit connected to the Islamist Ra’am party, having concluded an investigation over alleged money transfers to groups proscribed for terror links.

"From the association’s records and its responses to requests for information, it appears that the association transferred funds or collaborated with organizations outside Israel, that were declared terror organizations, or are suspected of being linked to terror organizations," the ministry’s Israeli Corporations Authority said in the letter.

"This document should be seen as a warning before initiating liquidation proceedings against the association," the 22-page document concluded.

Aid 48 transferred funds to four organizations purporting to do charity work in the Nablus, Ramallah, and Tulkarem areas of the West Bank that were proscribed by the Defense Ministry in 2008 and 2002, according to the ministry.

The investigation into the group came after pressure from the "Choose Life" Forum, representing bereaved families, which opposed the Ra’am party’s inclusion in former prime minister Naftali Bennett’s coalition, labeling the party "terror supporters."

The forum welcomed the decision to dismantle Aid 48, calling it "a historic victory" and demanded that Ra’am’s leaders — such as MK Mansour Abbas — be "detained for questioning," asserting that "anyone who supported Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
leading up to October 7 must be sent to prison," in a quote carried by Hebrew media.

Though declaredly an Islamist, Abbas has courted controversy among his base by stating that Israel will always be a Jewish state and condemning Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, calling on Paleostinian terror groups to demilitarize.

In a statement in April, when the Justice Ministry first announced its findings, Ra’am blamed the Netanyahu government for funding Hamas and accused it of seeking to divert attention from its own mistakes.

"Since the negotiations on the possible entry of Ra’am into the [previous] coalition began, an ongoing and vicious campaign has been waged against us by extreme right-wing elements, aiming to thwart any chance for the political integration of Arab citizens in the country," it said at the time.

This is done on the back of a humanitarian aid organization that operates with the knowledge and cooperation of all authorized entities in the country. We have no doubt that the organization will prove it acted lawfully."

At the time, Aid 48 itself called the investigation a "campaign of persecution for a clear political goal of thwarting any possibility of a political partnership between Arabs and Jews."

Senate GOP focuses on law enforcement to stop Mexican cartels, Democrats blame U.S. gun industry
2025-07-09
[JustTheNews] As firearms become increasingly hard to purchase in Mexico, Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
say the cartels are using guns originating in the United States to carry out violence and drug trafficking in America.

Senate Democrats and Republicans are taking a widely different view of the issue of Mexican cartels' smuggling and gun violence and how to stop it — with Democrats appearing to continue to focus on the U.S. firearms industry while Republicans focus on investigative efforts and the dangers that cartel members pose to law enforcement and other Americans.

The largely disparate views were recently highlighted during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing titled "The Thin Blue Line Protecting America from the Cartels."

"Today’s hearing focuses on the very real threat of Mexican narco mobs and the lengths law enforcement goes to defend Americans," Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassly, the committee's top Republican, said at the June hearing.

"These are the folks who enforce the law at great personal cost. As of late, they’ve been pelted with rocks, assaulted with homemade explosives ... . And yet, they continue to hold the line against one of the greatest national security threats to America — Mexican narco mobs."

Among the three federal law enforcement officials to testify at the June 17 hearing was the Drug Enforcement Administration's Matthew Allen.

"In my 22 years-plus in the DEA ... . I’ve experienced several instances of cartels and criminal organizations surveilling our people, both in Mexico and the United States," said Allen the special agent in charge of the agency's Los Angeles Field Division. "I’ve personally lost several friends on this job — two of them, very close friends of mine. It’s a dangerous job."

Grassley also warned about the dangers of cartel members infiltrating the United States, citing the son-in-law of Ruben Oseguera Cervantes — known as "El Mencho" and the leader of Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion, a major drug-trafficking organization in Mexico — living in Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, under a fake name until his arrest last year.

Prosecutors say the son-in-law, Cristian Fernando Gutierrez Ocho, faked his own death and fled to the U.S. to avoid Mexican authorities after kidnapping two members of the Mexican Navy in 2021. He is also accused of conspiring to import thousands of kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine into the U.S.

Allen said agents working on a tip arrested him in a gated community, "just down the street from the chief of police."

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin
...Senator-for-Life from Illinois and Democratic Party Whip. In April 2006, Time magazine identified Durbin as one of America's 10 Best Senators, so what's that tell you? He was the first United States Senator to support the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama, then the junior senator from Illinois...>
, the committee's top Democrat, said the cartels are "being armed by one country primarily — the United States."

"Firearms dealers in this country are selling guns into Mexico to the cartels, and those guns are being used for their evil plans across the United States," he also said. "We must acknowledge the role the United States has played in arming these cartels to the teeth."

Durbin also said the Mexican government estimated that roughly 200,000 U.S.-sourced firearms are smuggled each year into the country.

He spoke just days after the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a lawsuit by the Mexican government against U.S. gun makers could not go forward.

The justices held in the case — Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. v. Estados Unidos Mexicanos — that Mexico’s efforts to hold the makers responsible for narco mob violence with U.S.-made weapons are barred by a federal law to shield the gun industry from lawsuits in U.S. courts for the misuse of guns by others.

About 70% of firearms recovered from scene of the crimes in Mexico that were submitted for tracing originated from the U.S., according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — while the direct sale of firearms by U.S. companies to Mexican cartels is illegal and considered arms trafficking.

Firearms are extremely difficult to purchase legally in Mexico. There is only one gun store in Mexico run by the Mexican military (SEDENA) in Mexico City. Many firearms banned in Mexico, such as semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines, can be legally purchased in the U.S.

The majority of traced firearms recovered in Mexico came from Texas, Arizona and California, according to a 2023 Justice Department report.

Jose Perez, the assistant director of the FBI's criminal investigative division, who testified at the hearing, says that in the past six months, through cartel and gang investigations, the agency has seized roughly 4,000 guns in the U.S. including 2,200 along the border.

"As we investigate more aggressively the cartels and the gangs, we will encounter illicit firearms and encounter how those firearms have landed in the hands of these criminals," he said.

The temporary restraining order by Judge Indira Talwani in Massachusetts blocks the "big, beautiful bill's" provision to defund the family planning provider.

At issue is the provision in the new tax and spending bill signed into law by President Donald Trump on July 4 that eliminates one year of Medicaid payments from Planned Parenthood health centers because the organization also provides abortions.

A White House official told Fox News Digital that the Trump administration is committed to ending the use of federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortions. The official noted that the administration's stance is a commonsense position that the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with.

On Monday, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts and Planned Parenthood Association of Utah filed a lawsuit in federal court.

"The prohibition specifically targets Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its member health care providers in order to punish them for lawful activity, namely advocating for and providing legal abortion access wholly outside the Medicaid program and without using any federal funds," the lawsuit states.

If allowed to stand, Planned Parenthood said the provision would have "devastating consequences" for the more than 1 million patients who use Medicaid as their insurance at Planned Parenthood health centers across the country to get birth control and cancer screenings, among other services.

Dominique Lee, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, said the organization has a long history of fighting for sexual and reproductive freedom.

"The Trump administration’s hell-bent ambitions to close our clinics and abandon our patients won’t stop us. Let me be crystal clear: We are not intimidated. We were built for this moment," she said. "Here in Massachusetts, we fight back, and we will never be bullied into turning our backs on health care or human rights."

Putin appoints Andrey Nikitin as Russia's acting transport minister
2025-07-08
[AA.COM.TR] Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
on Monday announced the appointment of Andrey Sergeyevich Nikitin as the country's acting transport minister, after removing Roman Starovoyt from the post.

''Andrey Sergeyevich (Nikitin), I would like to invite you to take another step forward on your career ladder and work as the acting Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation,'' Putin said during a meeting with Nikitin, according to a video published by the Kremlin.

Putin expressed his intention to submit Nikitin's candidacy to the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, after which he would sign the decree on the final appointment if politicians support it.

''I hope that you will apply all your efforts, knowledge, skills, and organizational abilities to solve those tasks, the most important tasks that are in this area,'' he added.

The move came after Putin signed an executive order on the dismissal of Starovoyt, who was appointed to the post just a year ago in May 2024. No reason was provided for his removal.

In a press briefing Kremlin front man Dmitry Peskov said that Starovoyt's dismissal is not due to a "loss of trust."

Peskov further said that Putin believes Nikitin's "working qualities and work experience" currently best serve the needs of the ministry.

Nikitin had been serving as the deputy transport minister since February, and was previously the governor of Russia's northwestern Novgorod region.

Says Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
[ColonelCassad] The Russian Minister of Transport and former Governor of Kursk Oblast, Roman Starovoit, who was fired today (Putin's decree was published this morning), shot himself today at his dacha in Odintsovo.

Apparently, a criminal case became inevitable and he decided to end it this way. The investigation into theft during the construction of fortifications in Kursk Oblast has been ongoing for a long time. Khinshtein's predecessor is involved in this case.

But part of the investigation touches upon the period when Starovoit was still governor and at the beginning of the year there were many publications on the topic of whether Starovoit could not have known about the fraudulent schemes associated with fake contractors, through whom huge amounts of money allocated for the construction of field fortifications leaked out.

One way or another, the investigation will still continue and then it will be clear from the facts - what exactly prompted Starovoit to commit suicide.

The media reports that former Governor of Kursk Oblast Smirnov, who is under investigation, testified against Starovoit.

Starovoit was at the ministry this morning, said goodbye to everyone, then went home and shot himself in his car in a parking lot in Odintsovo.

China's Mysterious Ekranoplan Seen In Full For First Time
2025-07-07
[TWZ] The first full image of China's "Bohai Sea Monster" wing-in-ground effect craft has emerged, but major questions remain.

We are getting our first full look at China’s wing-in-ground effect (WIG) craft. It was first identified last week by our friend and submarine warfare analyst HI Sutton. You can read his initial post at Naval News here. It was originally spotted in an image with its nose section obscured. In that image, the flying-boat-hulled aircraft was pictured sitting on a pier situated on the Bohai Sea, which sits at the northwestern reach of the Yellow Sea.

As we have discussed many times before, the Soviet Union was famed for its experimentation and semi-operational use of large WIG craft known as Ekranoplans. The capability and tactical concepts surrounding it never really caught on en-masse, but we are currently experiencing a renaissance of sorts for large WIG aircraft that aim to race above the thick air above the water with relative efficiency and speed (most can fly less efficiently at higher altitudes too). The U.S. is developing just such an aircraft, the Liberty Lifer, in hopes that it could be used to deliver heavy cargo, personnel and materiel to far-flung locales across the great expanses of the Pacific. In doing so it would help reduce some of the Pentagon’s looming logistic woes were it to fight across such a large theater.

In the case of this mysterious aircraft being tested by China, it is loosely similar in scale to what we have seen of their new amphibious flying boat, the AG600, which is intended to perform resupply, search and rescue, and other missions, especially over the South China Sea. This WIG aircraft appears ideally suited for similar applications in the littorals.

ECOWAS team leaves Guinea-Bissau after threat of expulsion
2025-07-05
[AFRICANEWS] A mission from the West African Regional bloc, ECOWAS, has left Guinea-Bissau saying the president had threatened to expel it.

The team was sent to the country last month to help it reach a ''political consensus'' on how to conduct elections this year.

It said it had "prepared a draft agreement on a roadmap for elections'' and had started presenting it to the stakeholders for their consent.

But the team decided to leave early on Saturday morning after President Umaro Sissoco Embalo's threat.

It says it will now present its report to the ECOWAS president, including a proposal for an agreement leading to "inclusive and peaceful elections".

Embalo has not responded to the bloc's accusation.

There has been heightened tension in the country over when his five-year mandate ends.
"It's five-ish"
The opposition say his term as president expired last week, but the Supreme Court of Justice ruled that it ends on 4 September.

A new round of general elections was due to take place last November, but Embalo postponed them and has since announced they will take place on the 30 November this year.

The opposition has opposed the delay.

Guinea-Bissau has experienced several military coups since independence in 1974, and there have been two attempts to overthrow Embalo, the latest in December 2023.

This led him to dissolve the opposition-dominated parliament.

The opposition last Thursday called for a nationwide strike, on the day they said the president's term was expiring, with the government deploying security forces across the capital.

Embalo travelled to Moscow the day before where he held talks with Russia President Vladimir Putin
