Walz admin gave $2 million to al Qaeda-linked charity
2024-08-19
[JustTheNews] Minnesota awarded more than $2 million to a Muslim group that fundraises for an al Qaeda-linked charity under the tenure of Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.).

The Islamic Association of North America (IANA) received state grants from 2019 to 2024, the Washington Examiner reported.

IANA fundraises for Rahma Worldwide, a Michigan-based charity claiming to ship humanitarian aid to Gaza.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Rahma Worldwide President Shadi Zaza said his charity is collaborating on an aid initiative with the Islamic Heritage Revival Society of Kuwait, a U.S.-designated terror group sanctioned for funding al Qaeda.

This latest revelation comes amid criticism of Walz over his links to Muslim cleric Asad Zaman, whom Walz repeatedly hosted as Minnesota's governor.

Zaman has defended the October 7 attacks and shared a pro-Hitler film on social media. Walz referred to Zaman in 2018 as a "master teacher" at a Muslim American Society of Minnesota event. The society partners with IANA.

Kuwait: Saqr seeks prosecution of 'wasta' MPs
2005-02-05
MP Mohammad Al-Saqr has requested the government to disclose names of MPs who recently met senior officials in the Ministry of Interior with the offer to accept the surrender of fugitive radical Islamists on condition they will not be treated as suspects but state witnesses, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Al-Saqr says these MPs must be referred to the Public Prosecution after stripping them of their parliamentary immunity.
Picked up on the Soddy holy men's trick, did they? Only it's not Soddy Arabia...
Meanwhile, interrogations with Amer Khlaif Al-Enezi, believed to be the leader of the so-called Peninsula Lions revealed the two fugitives Mohsen Al-Fadhli and Khalid Al-Dosari played key roles in offering protection and logistic services to members of terrorist cells by providing them food, ammunition and moving them from place to place. Amer also admitted to issuing a fatwa to his followers on the need to kill security forces if they attempt to arrest them saying it justifies the death of their 'comrade' Fawaz Al-Otaibi who was shot by a member of the cell on Jan 10, 2005, during a Maidan Hawalli shootout between security forces and terrorists. A State Security policeman also died in the incident.
Otaibi was friendly-fired? Hadn't heard that. Can't be too good for recruiting...
Shaikh Farhan Obaid from the Islamic Heritage Revival Society described Amer Khlaif as a fanatic and a radical "who has misunderstood the concepts of Islam," reports Al-Rai Al-Aam daily. Obaid said the society with the approval of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs earlier held a seminar and the participants were surprised to learn Amer Khlaif and some of his followers were humiliating lecturers accusing them of cowardice for forbidding jihad in Iraq.
He sounds like a real subtle kind of guy, doesn't he?

Al-Zarqawi group suspected of using transfers
2005-02-01
KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently sealed three money exchange offices in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hassawi for their involvement in money laundering operations, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable government source. The same source said the offices violated the rules and regulations by not informing authorities the names of persons who had transferred KD 3,000 and above to persons outside the country. One of the offices is said to have transferred $3 million to Syria over a three-month period in addition to other transfers worth thousands of Kuwaiti dinars to GCC states, especially to Saudi Arabia.
This is interesting. We seldom see this kind of story. We can only hope that there are lots more of them...
A security source disclosed suspected Islamist militants belonging to the 'Al-Mutlaa Cell' who are in custody of police have admitted to receiving money from a neighbouring country.
That'd be Soddy Arabia, I'd guess...
The source added the money which has been transferred may be used by the al-Zarqawi terrorist group in Iraq to launch terrorist attacks. Interrogations also revealed more than $250,000 had been distributed to some of the arrested Islamist suspects and others who are still at large. In another development, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour said some charity societies such as the Islamic Heritage Revival Society, the Social Reform Society, the Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society and Al-Najat Society are known to violate rules and regulations of charity work in the country. A ministry source said these charity societies use kiosks to collect money, used clothes and electrical appliances without obtaining permission from the ministry and move the kiosks from place to place, to escape inspection. The source also pointed out these societies violate the labour law by employing illegal persons.
