Israel strikes Iran-backed Houthis after Tehran proxy attacked Jewish state: 'Significance is clear'
2024-07-21
[FoxNews] NSC spokesperson says US 'not involved' in Yemen strikes, and didn't 'coordinate or assist' Israel with them.

Israel’s air force on Saturday launched surgical strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran-sponsored Houthi terrorist regime in Yemen.

According to an Israel Defense Forces statement, "A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the area of the Al Hudaydah Port in Yemen in response to the hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months."

In a video statement posted on X, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that, "The port we attacked is not an innocent port. It was used for military purposes; it was used as an entry point for deadly weapons supplied to the Houthis by Iran." Netanyahu, who is due to address Congress next week, congratulated the IDF and Air Force for the operation and warned: "I have a message for Israel's enemies: don't misunderstand us. We will protect ourselves in every way, on every front. Anyone who harms us will pay a very heavy price for his aggression."

Netanyahu noted that the port was over 1000 miles away from Israel's borders, saying "It makes it clear to our enemies that there is no place that the long arm of the State of Israel will not reach."

On Friday, the Houthi movement fired a lethal drone into Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of an Israeli and at least 10 injured and severe damage to buildings. The strike took place near the U.S. consulate building in Tel Aviv.

Gallant continued "The Houthis attacked us over 200 times. The first time that they harmed an Israeli citizen, we struck them. And we will do this in any place where it may be required. The blood of Israeli citizens has a price. This has been made clear in Lebanon, in Gaza, in Yemen, and in other places. If they will dare to attack us, the result will be identical."

A Houthi spokesperson said via a public Telegram board message that Israeli airstrikes targeted civilian facilities, oil tanks and a power station in al-Hudaydah.

Houthi-linked media reported that several people were killed, according to Iran International. A Houthi official told the pro-Hezbollah news outlet in Lebanon, Al Mayadeen, that the Houthi regime will retaliate against Israel for the IDF strikes in Lebanon. The U.S.-designated terrorist entity, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthi regime and the Islamic Republic of Iran form the anti-American and anti-Israel "axis of resistance."

Iran International noted the IDF strikes on Saturday hit oil refining facilities in the Hodeidah port, according to sources cited by Al-Masirah TV, the main television news outlet run by the Houthi movement.

The Saudi Arabia-owned Al Arabiya reported that 12 Israeli aircraft, including an F35, attacked the port of Hodeidah.

The Friday drone attack unsettled the Israeli public because the country’s aerial defense failed to intercept the lethal projectile, possibly because of human error. Tel Aviv is the second-largest city in the Jewish state. Israel’s aerial assault in Yemen appears to be the first-ever IDF attack on the Arab country that has been ravaged by the Houthi movement.

A National Security Council spokesperson told Fox News that the U.S. was not involved in the strikes. "We’ve been in regular and ongoing contact with the Israelis following the strike in Tel Aviv that killed an Israeli civilian on Friday morning. We fully recognize and acknowledge Israel’s right to self-defense. The United States was not involved in today’s strikes in Yemen, and we did not coordinate or assist Israel with the strikes. We refer you to the Israelis for more information."

Al-Masirah published footage showing the aftermath of strikes on the refinery, which the IDF later confirmed the strike.

IDF fighter jets struck Houthi military targets in the area of the Hodeidah Port in Yemen, the IDF confirmed Saturday evening.

Israeli airstrikes reportedly targeted oil refining facilities in Yemen's Hodeidah, according to the Houthi-run Yemeni news outlet, Al-Masirah.

Local sources in Yemen told Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen that there are power outages in several areas in Hodeidah as a result of the Israeli strikes that hit an electricity production plant.

Israel's Defense Ministry reported that discussions on approving the operational plans to strike in Yemen took place on Saturday morning under the lead of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, alongside IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and other senior defense officials.

The decision was reportedly approved during a cabinet meeting on Saturday.

According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, who quoted a senior American source, the incident was attributable to Israel, which reportedly conducted the operation alone.

The senior official reportedly said that the location of the strike was a military target used by the Houthis for gaining and storing weapons.

The report followed explosions that were reportedly heard in the coastal Yemeni city.

Canadian mosque worshippers attacked with bear spray
2022-03-20
[IsraelTimes] Worshippers at dawn prayer in a suburb of Toronto tackle and subdue a 24-year-old man who allegedly entered their mosque and attacked people with bear spray, according to local police.

Peel Regional Police say the man walked into the Dar al-Tawheed Islamic Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, and allegedly "discharged bear spray towards people in the mosque while brandishing a hatchet" just before 7 a.m.

Speaking on behalf of the mosque, Nadia Hasan of the National Council of Canadian Moslems says a group of about 20 men were praying when the man sprayed them.

"Some of the men turned around and they very bravely decided that they were not going to let him attack them," she says. "They tackled him to the ground and apprehended him until the police showed up."

Terror police will probe murder of Sir David Amess
2021-10-16
[Daily Mail UK] Cops arrest 'Somalian man, 25' after Tory MP was stabbed repeatedly at his church constituency surgery amid screams from onlookers as police launch 'immediate' security review for all politicians

Counter terrorism officers are tonight leading the investigation into the murder of Tory MP Sir David Amess, as forces across the country are being urged to launch an 'immediate review' of security for politicians.

It comes after horrified onlookers screamed for help as they tried to save the Conservative MP who was brutally stabbed to death in front of them at his Southend constituency surgery.

The popular politician - who won at the last general election with a margin of 14,000 votes - was knifed 'multiple times' by a 25-year-old killer - believed to be of a British national of Somali heritage, according to the BBC.

His attacker sprinted into the church and stabbed him to death during his weekly surgery as constituents watched in horror.
"It appears he was high on Islam khat"
The Tory MP for Southend West, 69, was meeting locals at the Belfairs Methodist Church, in Eastwood Road North, Leigh-on-Sea, when it happened just at 12.05pm.

Paramedics worked to save the politician on the floor of the Essex church for more than an hour but he could not be saved after the appalling attack, which has left the stalwart MP's local community in shock.

Tonight a group of 80 mourners have gathered to attend a short-notice vigil in nearby St Peters Catholic Church, where Sir David, who has represented the constituency since 1997, was affectionately referred to as 'Mr Southend'.

Saudi jets conduct fresh military raids in Yemen
2021-08-18
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] The Saudi-led military coalition has upped the ante in war-ravaged Yemen, with its fighter jets launching fresh raids in north-western Sa’ada Province.

Yemeni media reports said the latest military aggression targeted al-Dhaher district, southwest of the provincial capital Sana’a, on Tuesday, resulting in serious damage to civilian properties.

It comes in the wake of repeated ceasefire violations by Saudi-led foreign mercenaries in strategic al-Hudaydah Province, which borders Red Sea.

According to Yemen News Agency (SABA), quoting a military official, the foreign mercenaries on Monday carried out around 190 violations of the ceasefire in the province.

The report said the Saudi jets conducted raids on the areas of al-Jabaliyah, al-Fazah and al-Tahita, firing 92 shells and 137 bullets.

Masirah, in its report, also confirmed the relentless military raids in Hudaydah Province.

It said the Saudi-led coalition forces have not only been targeting the strategic province with large-scale airstrikes but also conducting raids with spy planes.

In addition to Sa’da and al-Hudaydah, Saudi-backed mercenaries continue their destabilizing activities in other provinces like Ma’rib, about 120 kilometers east of Sana’a.

Over the past few months, the strategic province has been the scene of large-scale operations by Yemeni armed forces, strongly pushing back Saudi-backed mercenaries.

Pertinently, since the establishment of Al-Hudaydah ceasefire within the framework of the Stockholm Agreement in 2018, Saudi Arabia has failed to adhere to it.

Despite widespread protests in Yemen over Riyadh’s non-compliance with the ceasefire agreement, the United Nations has so far taken no action to stop the Saudi-led aggression.

On August 8, thousands of Yemenis marched through the streets of Sana’a to protest Saudi blockade, supported by the West, and the economic hardships resulting from it.

Hundreds of Yemenis protest in Sanaa against Saudi attacks on Al Hudaydah
2018-06-30
[EN.ABNA24] Hundreds of Yemenis gathered on Thursday in front of the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
headquarters in Sanaa to protest the Saudi-Led Coalition attack on the city of Al Hudaydah.
I guess they would, wouldn't they?
Among the protesters were members of civil society organizations, union members, civilians in Sanaa and government officials.
Nice picture of them at the site, hollering and waving fists.
At the same time, officials and witnesses in Al Hudaydah said hundreds of families had to leave their homes to neighboring provinces, about two weeks after the coalition launched an attack on the coastal city to take over.

This recovery threatens to exacerbate the humanitarian situation in Yemen, as it is the main entry point for food, humanitarian aid and fuel supplies to the country.
