J&K Encounter: Five Terrorists Killed
2023-11-21
[OneIndia] Five bad boyz were potted in an overnight encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, police said on Friday.

''The bodies of the slain bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems are being retrieved and the area is being sanitised. Five bodies have been sighted through drones,'' a police brass hat said.

Security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation in Nehama village of Kulgam following information about the presence of bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems in the area on Thursday, the officials said.

The search operation turned into a gunbattle as the bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems opened fire towards the security personnel, they added.

While the security forces maintained a tight cordon around the area where the ultras are trapped, the operation was suspended overnight, the officials said.

Gunshots were exchanged early Friday after a night-long lull at Samno in Nehama area of Kulgam, officials said.

The house where the bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems were hiding caught fire in the exchange of fire this morning, forcing the Lions of Islam to come out. Further details are awaited.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief March 10, 2023
2023-03-10
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • BALKH GOVERNOR KILLED IN SUICIDE BOMBING – Initial reports indicate that the Provincial Governor, Mohammad Dawood Muzammil was killed when a suicide bomber gained access to his second-floor office and detonated an explosive vest. Another unidentified man was killed and 7 others are said to have been wounded in the brazen attack. Taliban Police and the spokesman were puzzled about how the bomber could have gotten to the Governor’s office without being stopped. Several hours after the attack, ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack on their official website. However, secondary reports say that it was not a suicide bomber but rather, someone from a Resistance group had successfully smuggled an explosive device into the building and placed it near a meeting room. It is not clear what actually transpired. The Governor’s death is believed to be the highest-ranking Taliban leader killed since the Taliban came to power. He was also said to be a personal favorite of the Supreme Leader. Taliban officials announced an investigation had begun. The attack comes after a Taliban security operation in Mazar-i-Sharif resulted in the deaths of 8 unidentified men.

  • MORE HAZARAS FORCED FROM THEIR HOMES IN SAR-E-PUL – A Hazara community in the Al Badr District was reputedly forced to leave their homes on Monday and Tuesday. The District is one of those newly created in the past two months. The evictions were said to have been orchestrated after a claim against the land the Hazaras were living on had been made by a Pashtun man. In addition to the forced evictions, a Taliban court has ordered the former landowners to pay a 36 million afghani fine to the man.

  • CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS CALL FOR THE RELEASE OF ACTIVISTS WHO WERE ARRESTED FOR PROTESTING ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – While it is not clear how many women activists have been arrested, a prominent gender rights campaigner in Ghor, Habiba Sharifi, and her father were arrested at their home after protesting outside of the Provincial Governor’s office on Wednesday.

  • UN LAUNCHES NEW $4.6 BILLION DOLLAR APPEAL FOR AFGHANISTAN – Notwithstanding the recent threat by the head of UNAMA to cut funding to the country, the United Nations issued a call for donor states to pledge more money in anticipation of severe financial and food security issues on the horizon.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Balkh: An unidentified suicide bomber gained entry to the provincial governor’s office and killed the governor and one other other provincial official while 7 others were reportedly wounded. Late in the day ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack, but so had a Resistance faction.

NEXT 24 HOURS
  • BALKH PROVINCE SECURITY SWEEPS EXPECTED – In response to the bomb attack at the Provincial Government office, Taliban security forces are planning a major security operation in Mazar-i-Sharif that is expected to take three days. A source said that no information had been received about potential terror or Resistance safe houses, but that Police leaders had developed a search plan to cover the entirety of the city. At-risk Afghans living in Mazar-i-Sharif should expect home/apartment searches over the coming days and security around all Taliban facilities will be increased.

  • POSSIBLE PTI RESPONSE TO NEW CHARGES AGAINST KHAN IN PAKISTAN – While the former Prime Minister did not appear in court again on Thursday, the government levied additional charges against him under the anti-terrorism act. Some social media sites affiliated with the PM’s party have called for renewed protests. While the recent protests took place in Lahore, party acolytes are now asking for protests in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and Karachi. If protests occur, they are expected to turn violent and the police seem to be in no mood for sparing the rod. There are rumors that some among the PTI faithful have called for the burning of all police stations in Lahore as a sign of protest and to honor the only fatality from the clashes, Ali Bilal. At-risk Afghans sheltering in Pakistan should take care to avoid any protests or large police congregations while the threat of clashes remains. In addition, at-risk Afghans in Peshawar should remain cognizant of the recent directive by the counter-terrorism department about an imminent large-scale attack by the TTP directed specifically against the police.

Year 2022: Mixed bag for J&K with terror, infiltrations down, but psy-ops, targeted killings rising
2022-12-18
[OneIndia] The security situation in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
has been a mixed one in 2022. The Armed Forces have had plenty of success when it comes to gunning down terrorists.

While the forces had plenty of success on the ground, the year also witnessed the rise in psychological warfare in terms of terror groups circulating hi-lists. The Valley has also seen a spate of assassinations this year.

56 FOREIGN HOLY WARRIORS KILLED:
Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh told news hounds this week that in the year 2022, 56 holy warriors had been killed by the security forces. He also said that 86 of the 102 local youth who had joined the terrorist ranks too had been killed.

Singh also said that with 86 new holy warriors from the Valley being killed, the number of such elements has come down to 23.

"Those who choose the path of terrorism, their life is not too long. Youths should take the path of peace and prosperity and leave the path of terrorism. There is no benefit in going towards this path," Singh also said.

PSY-OPS:
The year 2022 saw the birth of a new blog called the Kashmir Fight run by the The Resistence Front which is a derivative of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. Through this blog, the The Resistence Front put out hit-lists.

These hit-lists had the names of pro-India journalists, police personnel and officials. Recently the The Resistence Front circulated two lists comprising the names of Kashmiri Pandit government officials.

This has caused panic in the Valley, but the establishment has said that there is no cause for worry. The militancy is taking its last breath. Stern action is being taken against those involved in giving such threats. Such blogs and websites are under our watch. FIRs have been registered against them. Action is being taken against their supporters as well," Singh had said.

Investigations had found that this operation was planned by one Mukhtar Baba based out of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
. He had got the names from a contact in Srinagar and it was learnt that the blog was being run from Pakistain.

It is a routine conspiracy of those who feel unhappy with peace and prosperity. We will finish all such remaining outfits involved in giving such threats," Dilbag Singh said.

TARGETED KILLINGS:
The assassinations of Kashmiri Pandits and non-Moslem migrant workers triggered panic in Jammu And Kashmir. Since January 2021 over 55 civilians have been killed by hybrid terrorists.

In October last year, seven non-combatants were killed in five days. Among them were a Kashmiri Pandit, a Sikh and two migrant Hindus.

In May, holy warriors had barged into the tehsildar's office in Budgam and rubbed out 36 year old Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit who received a government job under a package for the community.

In October this year, a Kashmiri Pandit, Puran Krishan Bhat was killed in Shopian. In August Sunil Kumar was killed at an apple orchard and the attack was claimed by the Kashmir Freedom Fighters, an offshoot of the Al Badr. They said that Sunil Kumar and his brother Pintu Kumar who was injured in the firing had been encouraging people to take part in the Tiranga rallies in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations.

INFILTRATIONS DOWN:
The annual 2021-2022 report of the Union Home Ministry said that 73 terrorist infiltration attempts were reported both through the International Border and Line of Control in 2021, which is the lowest in five years.

In the year 2017 the number of infiltration bids were 419 and in the following year it dropped to 328.

The report of the MHA also said that the Centre in tandem with union territory of Jammu And Kashmir has adopted a multi-pronged approach to counter infiltration.

The reduction in number of infiltrations and huge number of holy warriors being killed has led to a lot of frustration among these terror groups. This has resulted in the publishing of hit-lists and assassinations. Officials say that they are confident of ending this menace and the year 2023 will hopefully be a terror free year.
