Migrants Invite More Migrants to Cincinnati: 50 People in One House
[Breitbart] The Washington Post is celebrating a man from the African country of Mauritania who is helping more poor Muslim migrants crowd into Cincinnati apartments and houses, straining the town’s resources and apparently breaking occupancy laws.

Even this man, who is working to facilitate the flood of illegals into the U.S., says that the federal government is just letting too many people come to the U.S. all at once.

Oumar Ball, a man native to the small majority Muslim West African country of Mauritania, arrived in Cincinnati in 2000. By 2010, he had become a U.S. citizen. Now, he is working to settle as many of his fellow Muslims in Cincinnati’s Mount Airy neighborhood as he can. However, he has often encountered a problem in the Queen City: housing.

The city does not have a shelter system, and there is no “right to shelter” like there is in Massachusetts and New York. So, Ball has struggled to find places for his migrant friends to stay. The housing issue has caused him to stockpile them illegally in tiny apartments and homes of volunteers, including his own.

“It’s not uncommon to find apartments with 10 or 14 people in a two-bedroom apartment,” said fellow Cincinnati Mauritania activist Ousmane Sow. “And it’s all because none of us want to see Mauritanians out in the streets.”

The problem is growing, too. Doug Wehmeyer, the administrator and fire chief in Lockland, says that the number of migrants from Mauritania has doubled to 3,000.

Ball himself has had upwards of 50 people illegally living in his own home.

Occupancy rates in Ohio for single-family homes generally only allow two people per bedroom to live in a home or apartment. However, some exceptions can be made if authorities are tasked with making a determination, and, sometimes, four people per bedroom is permitted if they are underage. But, certainly, 14 or 15 people in a two-bedroom apartment is not legal. Ohio also generally limits apartment living to a family of five, no more, and certainly not large groups of people who are unrelated to each other.

Ball has been helping these migrants get jobs in places like the meatpacking industry in the river-side city. Mauritanian migrants have been hungrily gobbling up jobs at Tyson Foods and other manufacturing sites, including General Electric and Johnson & Johnson.

Still, the wave of migrants from the war-torn African nation has taxed even Mr. Ball and his friends. He thinks it is long past time that the federal government start putting limits on immigration.

“If they could close our borders for just a little bit,” Ball told the paper. “That would be great because right now too many people are coming and it’s too much … Everyone is tired.”

Ball’s wife, Aminata Ba, is also coming to her wit’s end. Since Ball recently lost his job, the family and the hundreds of fellow Mauritanian migrants coming to her with their hands out for food, clothes, and help, are taxing her small income at the Amazon warehouse where she works.

“We have had over 300 people pass through this house because they know my husband has a heart,” Ba told the Post. “I buy everything for them — deodorant, toothpaste, soap. When they come across the border, they show up with one pair of pants and one shirt.”

“I can’t keep doing this over and over again,” she said, echoing how the rest of the citizens of the United States feel about President Joe Biden’s wide-open border policy.
This is not a new problem in Cincinnati. That it, it’s new that they are Mauritanians, but illegals from Mexico and points south have been doing the same thing in Cincinnati for at least twenty years — currently 12th worst in the US, according to Orkin’s annual list. Probably why the city has had a severe bedbug problem for almost as long.

Did he get approval from the City Zoning Department? More than 4 unrelated folks living in one standalone dwelling usually upsets those folks as it wouldn't be zoned or taxed properly.

Haiti inaugurates new cabinet as country looks to end political unrest
[AFRICANEWS] Haiti’s new Cabinet was formally inaugurated on Wednesday, marking the final step in rebuilding the government that will lead a country under siege by gangs.

In his speech, Prime Minister Garry Conille repeated the need to increase security in the country which is within the grips of gang warfare.

He also spoke on the humanitarian crisis gripping the country.

"My dear compatriots, Haiti is facing major challenges. Violence and security are paralysing our daily lives. The humanitarian crisis is exacerbating the suffering of our most vulnerable citizens."

Gangs control at least 80% of the capital of Port-au-Prince.

Haiti is preparing for the U.N.-backed deployment of a police force from Kenya expected in the coming weeks.

Conille also asked for a minute's silence, in memory of three coppers killed by gangs the previous Sunday.

Weeks of coordinated attacks by gangs forced former prime minister Ariel Henry to resign in April, and his Cabinet was dissolved. Gunmen took control of cop shoppes, opened fire on the main international airport that remained closed for nearly three months and stormed Haiti’s two biggest prisons.

More than 2,500 people were killed or injured in the first three months of the year and more than half a million others displaced as Haiti prepares for the U.N.-backed deployment of a police force from Kenya expected in the coming weeks.

OPEC+ extends production cuts into 2025
02-06-2024
[Rudaw] The OPEC+ alliance of oil-exporting countries on Sunday agreed to extend their voluntary oil production cuts until the end of 2025.

Members of the oil cartel are currently cutting production by 5.86 million barrels per day, in an effort to stabilize global market price. The cuts have been in place since ministers of the member states met in Vienna in October 2022 and agreed to slash oil production by two million barrels per day.

Additional cuts of 1.65 million barrels per day were announced in April 2023.

At a ministerial meeting in Riyadh, OPEC+ agreed to prolong the cuts of 3.66 million barrels per day, which comprises the initial two million barrels per day and the additional 1.65 million, until the end of 2025. The cuts were set to expire at the end of the year.

...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat Frational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
, Russia, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman agreed "to extend the additional voluntary cuts of 1.65 million barrels per day that were announced in April 2023, until the end of December 2025," according to a statement from the Saudi energy ministry.

They will also extend their cuts of 2.2 million barrels per day until the end of September 2024, before gradually phasing out the cuts on a monthly basis until the end of September 2025, the statement added.

In compliance with OPEC+ production cuts, Iraq announced in April 2023 that it was voluntarily slashing oil production by 211,000 barrels per day

The cuts have been in place since ministers from the 13-nation OPEC group and Russian-led exporters met in Vienna in October 2022 and agreed to slash oil production by two million barrels per day.

Western nations, especially the United States, have repeatedly accused OPEC of manipulating the market and driving up oil prices. Washington has called on member states such as Saudi Arabia to reconsider decisions to cut production.

Oil prices rose following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and the US repeatedly urged members of the oil cartel to increase their production in order to stabilize the market.

UN probe accuses Israel of crimes against humanity, Hamas of war crimes
[GEO.TV] A UN investigation concluded Wednesday that Israel had committed crimes against humanity during the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, including that of "extermination", while Israeli and Paleostinian gangs had both committed war crimes.

The independent Commission of Inquiry's report is the first in-depth investigation by UN experts into the events of the war that erupted on October 7.

It found that Israel "has committed war crimes, crimes against humanity" and other international law violations.

The report noted "a widespread or systematic attack directed against the civilian population in Gaza".

The commission said it "found that the crimes against humanity of extermination; murder; gender persecution targeting Paleostinian men and boys; forcible transfer; and torture and inhuman and cruel treatment were committed".

Training for asylum seekers returned from Denmark begins in Halabja
[Rudaw] Kurdish non-governmental organization has begun a professional training program in Halabja designed to support rejected asylum seekers from Denmark. The project is funded by the Danish government.

The program, run by the Erbil-based Rwanga Foundation, targets people who have recently been deported as well as those who returned to the Kurdistan Region previously. Twenty-three people took part in the first round of training.

Fakhir Mohammed was in Denmark for 11 years. He said he had status in the country, but chose to return to "beautiful Kurdistan."

"When I wanted to return, I handed over the [Danish] documents and then I returned. The person who had interviewed me to process my return was surprised. He asked 'Why are you returning the documents? Keep them for yourself.' I said to him 'I do not want the documents. I want to close this door for good. I do not want to have any second thoughts.'"

He works as a car mechanic in Halabja and said that finding a job is difficult everywhere.

Another young man who attended the training and wished to remain anonymous said that over five years, he stayed in five different European countries, including La Belle France and the United Kingdom.

"I will not go back again, not at all," the man told Rudaw. "We faced hardship in the prime of our youth."

"We travelled from one country to the other, experiencing boats and the sea. It is difficult to experience all of these," he said.

Every year, thousands of Kurds, mainly young people, try to reach Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
in hope of a better life. They are driven to leave their homes by unemployment, lack of opportunities, and political uncertainty.

Rwanga Foundation and Denmark signed an agreement for the two-year program in February 2024. Asylum seekers can register for the $1.5 million program through the Danish government, Iraq's diplomatic mission, or through international organizations.

After the training, some of the applicants could receive financial support ranging from $3,000 to $4,000.

"We want them to depend on themselves," Khubaib Nadr, the head of Rwanga's projects in Halabja province, told Rudaw.

"We hope they can find a job or open their businesses. We also provide financial aid to some of them," he said.

Nearly 800 Iraqi IDPs return home from Sulaimani camp
08-06-2024
[Rudaw] Around 800 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Salahaddin and Nineveh provinces residing in a camp in Sulaimani returned home on Saturday, the Iraqi migration and displaced ministry announced.

Migration and Displaced Minister Evan Faeq Jabro said that a total of 787 IDPs residing in Sulaimani’s Ashti camp were returned to their original places of residence in Salahaddin’s Yathrib district and Nineveh’s Yazidi-majority town of Shingal (Sinjar).

The returnees received a financial grant of four million dinars (about $2,670), as well as several household appliances including a TV, stove, and refrigerator, said the ministry.

Ashti is the last remaining IDP camp in Sulaimani as July 30 approaches - the date the Iraqi ministry will stop aid to displaced persons and close the camps.

"The number of families remaining in Ashti camp is approximately 370 families, and their return will be after their children finish taking the ministerial exams, so that Sulaimani province will be cleared of camps," read the statement from the ministry.

Another group of more than 850 people were returned from the camp to Yathrib and Shingal in late May.

Earlier this month, rights monitor Human Rights Watch (HRW) warned against the planned closure of camps in the Kurdistan Region, stating that shutting down the camps will "imperil" the rights of many IDPs from Shingal.

"Sinjar [Shingal] remains unsafe and lacks adequate social services to ensure the economic, social, and cultural rights of thousands of displaced people who may soon be forced to return," it said.

There are more than 630,000 IDPs in the Kurdistan Region, though most of them reside outside of the 23 camps established across Duhok, Erbil, and Sulaimani provinces, according to figures from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Joint Crisis Coordination Center. The Kurdistan Region was hosting several million IDPs at the peak of the conflict with the Islamic State

(ISIS).

Despite the financial incentives offered by the government, many IDPs are reluctant to return home because of continuing violence in their hometowns, a lack of reconstruction following the destruction of their homes, and little in the way of basic services. Some who voluntarily left the camps have been forced to return, because they could not secure the basic necessities in their hometowns.

Iraq repatriates nearly 200 families from Syria ISIS detention camp, all to come home by 2027
04-06-2024
[Rudaw] The Iraqi government on Tuesday repatriated nearly 200 families affiliated with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (ISIS) from al-Hol camp in northeast Syria’s (Rojava) Hasaka province, a war monitor reported.

"176 Iraqi families, with an estimated number of 634 individuals from ISIS families left al-Hol camp towards Iraq," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor.

Their repatriation is part of an agreement between the Iraqi government and the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), the monitor added, with the end goal being the removal of all Iraqi families from the camp.

Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the 40,000 ISIS-linked people who have been held at al-Hol camp in northeast Syria’s Hasaka province since the defeat of the terror group in 2019.

Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji in March said that around 20,000 Iraqis below the age of 18 are still at al-Hol.

Most repatriated individuals are resettled in al-Jada camp in Iraq’s northern Nineveh province, to be prepared for reintegration into their communities and then returned to their hometowns.

Iraq, UN agree to repatriate all nationals from al-Hol by 2027
06-06-2024
[Rudaw] Iraq and the United Nations have reached an agreement to repatriate all Iraqi nationals from northeast Syria’s (Rojava) al-Hol camp housing suspects linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) by 2027, an official from Iraq’s ministry of migration and displaced told Rudaw on Thursday.

Ali Abbas, spokesperson for Iraq’s ministry of migration and displaced, said that Baghdad has reached an agreement with the UN on the repatriation of Iraqis from al-Hol. According to the agreement, no Iraqi families will remain in the camp by 2027.

“There were three proposals for their return: 2025, 2027, and 2030. Next year was too short of a duration and we would not have been able to return them by then, and we told them that 2030 is too far away and their children will grow up so we will not able to accommodate them,” Abbas told Rudaw’s Hastyar Qadir.
