Parade for Israel in NYC braces for pro-Hamas protests as thousands of Jewish New Yorkers take to...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] … the streets led by families of Oct 7 hostages.

The annual Israel Day parade in New York City is taking place along Manhattan's Fifth Avenue on Sunday, where heightened security forces are prepared to deal with protestors distraught over the ongoing war with Hamas.

The parade is taking place almost eight months to the day since the October 7th attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel, which launched the nation into a war that is now being fought primarily in Gaza.

Generally a celebratory event, this year's parade will strike a much different tone, as organizers say those gathering will be focused on solidarity with Israel and the Jewish cause, as well as the ongoing hope that the hostages still in Palestinian captivity will be released.

Mark Treyger, the CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council said the mood today is one of 'confetti and music.'

'This is more of a mood of unwavering, ironclad solidarity with hostages to bring them home, and also our unwavering love and pride in our Jewish identity,' he said, according to the Associated Press.

The parade, which has been taking place for nearly 60 years - this year will be the 59th - begins at 11.30am at 57th and Fifth Avenue.

Organizers say they expect some 40,000 participants, including several official representatives of Israel, and some of the family members of the hostages.

Treyger added that, despite an alarmingly large rise in anti-Semitism since October 7, canceling the parade was never a consideration.

However, bulked up security will be in place to help participants meet the moment.

Drones, K-9 units, bike patrols, and fencing and barriers will all be in place along the roughly mile-long parade route.

Large bags and coolers will not be allowed onsite, and spectators will be asked to pass through metal detectors.

On Friday, city officials said there had been no specific or credible threats ahead of the event, and that protestors have the right to demonstrate as long as it remains peaceful.

Mayor Eric Adams, who has condemned the disruptive and sometimes unlawful behavior of anti-Israel protestors around the city, said: 'We’re not going to allow any unlawfulness and any disruption of any celebration of one’s heritage in this city.'

Though there have been thousands of protests related to the ongoing Israel/Hamas war in NYC since October 7, Sunday's parade will be the first large-scale Jewish event since the outbreak of the war, according to Adams.

Due to the ongoing grim circumstances of the hostages and the war, there will be no music, bands, or celebratory chanting at this year's parade.

The refrain of the parade will be 'Bring Them Home,' the slogan that has become affiliated with the mission to return each of the hostages.

The event is scheduled to wrap up at about 4pm Sunday after moving through the full route. NYC authorities are expecting disruptions similar to those seen at the 2023 Thanksgiving Day Parade.

At the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade late last year, protestors unveiled 'Free Palestine' signage while riding on parade floats and participating in the march.

General al-Atta vows decisive strikes against RSF
[SUDANTRIBUNE] General Yasir al-Atta, Assistant Commander of the Sudanese Army, pledged a significant offensive against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the coming days.

Speaking at the Wadi Seidna Air Base in Omdurman, he reiterated the army’s firm stance against returning to negotiations or accepting a ceasefire.

Addressing the assembled soldiers, al-Atta declared, “We will strike on all fronts and in all directions every two or three days, as the Rapid Support Forces have no future.” He warned that the upcoming attack would be “strong and violent” in an unexpected location, marking “the beginning of the RSF’s collapse.”

Al-Atta hinted that the strike could target RSF strongholds in Jabal Awliya, Khartoum North, or the Umbada neighbourhoods of Omdurman. He also emphasized the army’s recent success in crossing the Halfaya Bridge into Khartoum North, claiming that “a large number of enemy forces” were eliminated.

Furthermore, al-Atta listed other areas where the RSF had reportedly suffered heavy losses, including Signal Corps, Umbada, Hattab, Kadoro, Armored Corps, Sennar, El-Fasher, and Babnousa.

Foreign Policy: Because of the Houthis, the West is thinking about using the Northern Sea Route
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum.] The actions of the Yemeni rebel Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) in the Red Sea have forced cargo carriers from Western countries to consider the Northern Sea Route as an alternative route for the delivery of goods, and the West will have to negotiate with Russia on this issue. The American magazine Foreign Policy wrote about this on May 30.

According to the publication, as a result of the actions of Ansar Allah, prices for cargo insurance have increased significantly, which increases their prices and affects the purchasing power of consumers.

El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele cements power as he begins second term
[Al Jazeera] El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele
… a Trump-admiring neo-conservative politician who has set himself to clean out the Communist nonsense in his country. His father is a descendant of Palestinian Christians who converted to Islam and built several mosques around the country, explaining the name. Both father and son were strong supporters of the Castro-linked FMLN, but after they threw Nayib out he formed his own party and swept into office in 2019 on the promise of wiping out the narco gangs, beating both the conservatives and the socialists. After jailing 80,000 accused gangsters for whom he built Latin America’s largest prison, he claims El Salvador is now the safest country in the Western Hemisphere, making his reelection a useful marker for the kinds of things that terrify America’s Democrats…
is set to be sworn in for a second term, riding on a wave of popularity that has helped him consolidate his power and influence in the country.

The 42-year-old, who unapologetically describes himself as a "cool dictator", was re-elected in February with 85 percent of the vote. He is set to govern for another five years with near-total control of parliament and other state institutions.

The former publicist and mayor will take the oath of office at the National Palace in the capital, San Salvador, on Saturday.

The ceremony is due to be attended by dignitaries including Spanish King Felipe VI and Argentinian President Javier Milei, with whom Bukele shares an admiration for former United States President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, whose son and namesake is also attending the event.

On Friday, inauguration preparations were disrupted by reports that police thwarted a plot to detonate explosives at locations across the country.

Bukele enjoys sky-high approval ratings due to his brutal crackdown on criminal gangs, credited with returning a sense of normality to a violence-fatigued society.

The campaign has drawn criticism from rights groups but has made Bukele the most popular leader in Latin America, according to a regional poll.

Bukele’s New Ideas party scored a near-clean sweep in legislative elections, where it took 54 of 60 seats.

Yet experts warn his extended honeymoon with voters may be nearing its end as economic worries overtake safety concerns in the public discourse, amid high government debt and fast-rising prices for consumer goods in a country where more than a quarter of the six million population lives in poverty.

Food inflation, meanwhile, has outpaced salary increases while public debt has skyrocketed on his watch to more than $30bn, or 84 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Mannheim knife attack: Police officer in serious condition
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[DW] A police officer hurt in an attack at an anti-Islam rally in the German city of Mannheim remains at death's door. Police said the suspect, whom they shot, is unresponsive after surgery and cannot be interrogated.

A German police officer who received life-threatening injuries during a knife attack on Friday targeting a rally by the anti-Islam right-wing group Pax Europa in the city of Mannheim remains at death's door, police said on Saturday.

Five participants in the rally were also maimed in the attack and taken to the hospital, with some having to undergo emergency surgery, authorities have said, while the suspected attacker was shot by police.

ARREST WARRANT ISSUED, SUSPECT'S RESIDENCE SEARCHED
Security sources told DPA news agency the assailant had suffered life-threatening injuries, and a police front man said on Saturday that the suspect remained unresponsive following surgery and could not be interrogated as to his motive.

"What we are most concerned about is the question of the motive," the criminal investigations office in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg, where Mannheim is situated, said.

An attempted homicide arrest warrant was issued against the man, identified as a 25-year-old with Afghan citizenship who had been living in Germany since 2014, on Saturday afternoon, according to state prosecutors in Karlsruhe.
That would be Sulaiman A., born in Herat.
Prosecutors said the suspect was married, with two children, and was most recently resident in the town of Heppenheim, just across the state border in the south of Hesse. Investigators searched his residence late on Friday. According to German broadcaster SWR, the man has been in Germany since 2013.
Interesting. Is he there legally, and what — since he had to organize himself to drive across state lines — set off his particular case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome?
The case has now been taken over by anti-terror Sherlocks.

WHAT DO WE KNOW NOW?
The injured police officer was stabbed in the back of the head several times, according to authorities.

Among the other maimed was leading Pax Europa member Michael Sturzenberger, his organization has said. The event was part of his "Open Eyes" tour, which organizers say aimed to warn of the dangers of "political Islam."

Sturzenberger is reportedly out of danger, with the Pax Europa website quoting him as saying that his operation had gone well and giving his best wishes to the injured police officer.
Good to know.
It remains unclear whether other Pax Europa members were maimed.

Bavarian security services have accused Sturzenberger of making "Islamophobic statements," and have classed the organization Pax Europa itself as Islamophobic.

#2  what — since he had to organize himself to drive across state lines — set off his particular case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome?

Heppenheim is less than 30km away from Mannheim.

BPE's rally schedule was published weeks ago.

He ultimately was only a single guy with a knife. There was no need for much organization. If the circumstances in Mannheim had prevented an attack he could've attended the rally in also nearby Ludwigshafen scheduled for 6/1.

Again, the majority of the refugees are normal law-abiding people who are observant of the consensus moral standards of their culture. Just like Germans or other people in the West.

Their standards, morals and laws are the problem, because they're as incompatible with Western culture as fire and water.

In the most relevant Islamic countries Stürzenberger (or Van Gogh, Wilders, Rushdie, Pamela Geller, etc) wouldn't be targeted by terrorists.

They would be tried and convicted and sentenced to death and executed by the criminal justice system.

And justly so, because criticism of Islam is a death penalty offense according to their laws.

Low lifes, scoundrels, petty criminals from these countries might actually much easier to coexist with since they don't care about the law.

The law abiding decent majority is the problem.

German FM Baerbock Is Considering German Participation In Gaza Protection Force
It would be a good deal more polite if they waited to be invited after the agreement between Israel and Hamas were signed by both of the parties actually involved., instead of pushing their way in on President Biden’s say-so. The world has already seen how often President Biden’s big announcements lead to nothing.
[NTV] For an agreement between Israel and Hamas, a three-phase plan is on the table that gives rise to international hope for an end to the war in Gaza. Foreign Minister Baerbock makes it clear that Germany would participate in an international protection force.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has brought into play a German participation in a protection force for the Gaza Strip. "As we have made it clear to Ukraine, we stand up for its freedom and for its peace, this also applies to me to the Middle East. If it now not only needs a reconstruction, but an international protection force that guarantees that we will finally, finally come to peace in the Middle East, then this is also our joint mission," said the Green politician at a small party congress of her party in Potsdam.
Who exactly would the German force be protecting? The Gazan population against Hamas or Hamas against the IDF?
A humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza War is possible, said Baerbock. This must include a cessation of the Hamas attacks, a release of the Israeli hostages and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Why? And what about the non-Israeli hostages? There is at least one Thai guest worker among the captives, as I recall.
During an appearance at the German Catholic Day in Erfurt, Baerbock was asked about her push, but she did not want to give any details with regard to international talks. She mentioned the possibility of a protection force for the current occasion, "because in my view now is the moment when we make clear what we have already discussed with others: We stand by a responsibility, without the details now, we have not even discussed them."

"CLEAR THAT OUR COUNTRY IS ALSO THERE"
And she added: "Now, in the last 24 or a little more hours, a new three-phase plan is on the table. And that's why I said this so clearly today that Germany is right behind it. That the other hostages are released, that Hamas can stop the shelling and then gradually withdraw the Israeli army. And if it then needs further contributions for security, for reconstruction, for the further ceasefire and for peace, then it is clear to me that our country is also there. And in what way, again, we will discuss this when we hopefully have this ceasefire, which is now on the table."

In Potsdam, Baerbock had explained how much Germany owed to its European neighboring countries, the European Union and the former opponents of the Second World War. "The fact that we can live freely and in peace in the heart of Europe is because others were there for us." Baerbock had been cautious about the Arab League's demand for a UN protection force in the Gaza Strip in mid-May. This requires a humanitarian ceasefire first, she had stressed.

They'd protect the reconstruction of Hamas' tunnel infrastructure. Even if this protection force was only very lightly armed they would serve as human shields.

Zakharova compared the resolution on genocide in Srebrenica with mockery of the memory of the Second World War
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The attempt to recognize the events in Srebrenica as genocide was reminiscent of the mockery of the monuments of the Great Patriotic War. This comparison was made in an interview with IA Regnum by the Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova.

According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, declaring the events in Srebrenica as genocide was an absolutely anti-Serbian action. Another one for the last many years. A similar situation occurs with the events of the Great Patriotic War, when, by demolishing monuments to liberators, countries try to rewrite history.

The Grand Turk
Is Recep Erdogan's Jew-Hatred Shame Based?
[JewishPress] During a recent visit to Turkey, I spent time with friends in Istanbul and further north, in Edirne and Kakaralli, where it was hard to ignore the whispers circulating in bars and comedy clubs, that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is one of the Dönmeh. Chatter about him being a Dönmeh is all the buzz in the bazaar, among the trade and working class in Istanbul… it’s everywhere.

According to Wiki, the Dönme were a group of Sabbatian crypto-Jews in the Ottoman Empire who under coercion converted outwardly to Islam, but secretly held on to their Jewish faith and Kabbalistic beliefs. The movement’s origins date back to the era of Sabbatai Zevi, a 17th-century Sephardic Jewish Rabbi and Kabbalist who claimed to be the Messiah and eventually converted to Islam after Sultan Mehmed IV had threatened to execute him. His followers purportedly converted to Islam as well and became the Dönme. The word means “to convert,” but in the pejorative sense of “turncoat.”

According to scholar, Rıfat N. Bali, in her book, “Model Citizens of the State: The Jews of Turkey During the Multi-party Period,” the Turkish word Dönme means ‘to turn’ or “to betray.”

THE TRIAL OF THE MAN WHO SAID ERDOĞAN WAS A SECRET JEW
On November 5, 2021, Alican Uludag reported for Deutsche Welle in Turkish, under the headline, “Calling Erdoğan ‘Jewish’ was considered an insult,” that a Criminal Court of First Instance in the Turkish city of Bursa sentenced the person who used the term “Jew” about President Erdoğan to a judicial fine of 7 thousand Turkish Lira ($1,033) for “insulting the President.”

In 2020, after Bursa resident Yüksel Üstün posted on Facebook that “Tayyip is a Jew who pretends to be a Muslim,” Bursa’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against Üstün for insulting the President. The indictment argued that the suspect committed the crime by “offending the honor, dignity, and respect of the President” with this post.

Presidential Law and Legislation General Director Hakkı Susmaz sent a letter to the court on March 25, 2021, stating the case should be “followed and tried without waiting for the complaint of the President, who is the head of the State and represents the Republic of Turkey and the unity of the Turkish Nation in this capacity.”

The defense asked for acquittal, arguing that “Jews are honorable citizens of this country. Calling someone a Gypsy or a Jew is not a crime.”

At the end of the hearing, the court sentenced Yüksel Üstün to 10 months and 20 days in prison for insulting the president, but later commuted the sentence to a fine of only $1,033.

ERDOĞAN MUST REMAIN MORE ANTISEMITIC THAN THE ANTISEMITES
Modern Turkish antisemitism and the conspiracy theories upon which it relies have always centered on the Dönmeh, according to historian Marc David Baer, professor of International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His work, “The Dönme: Jewish Converts, Muslim Revolutionaries, and Secular Turks,” Stanford University Press, California, USA, 2010, is considered authoritative in the field.

Dönmeh machinations were said to have motivated the Young Turks Revolution and the overthrow of Sultan Abdul Hamid II in 1909, the dissolution of the Ottoman religious establishment, and the founding of a secular republic in the 1920s. Accusations of Dönmeh ancestry were used against the father of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881-1938). Those rumors have persisted to this day.

People in Turkey cannot help but notice the fiery vehemence with which their president denies aspersions of Dönmeh connections whenever they come up, and wonder what new Dönmeh accusation has surfaced to provoke Erdoğan’s latest wave of vicious antisemitic rhetoric.

Have documents outlining Erdoğan’s own or his familial dealings with secret Jews surfaced, and is that what fuels his latest paranoia? The average Turk on the street also wonders how much of Erdoğan’s political rise to power depended on behind-the-scenes manipulations by the Dönmeh.

It is feared that President Erdoğan may once again use his National Intelligence Organization (Millî İstihbarat Teşkilatı) to gather information against those who attempt to make public any fact that would embarrass him personally. It has been his policy to do so in the past, but whether he can completely eliminate all the historic traces of his Dönmeh connections is doubtful.

On Wednesday this week, President Erdoğan called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “vampire who feeds on blood” and urged Muslims to act against the “Zionist threat.”

“The world is watching the barbarity of a psychopath, a vampire who feeds on blood called Netanyahu, and they are watching it on live broadcast,” Erdoğan said in a speech to members of his AK Party.

Something must be bothering him.

Turkey has admitted the possibility of withdrawing troops from Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Turkey may consider the possibility of withdrawing troops from Syria if the country’s border is secure, Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Guler said on June 1.

“We are ready to provide all possible support with regard to the adoption of a comprehensive constitution, holding free elections, full-scale normalization and ensuring a secure environment in Syria. Only after this is done, and our border is completely safe, will we, if necessary, consider the issue of withdrawing troops,” the Turkish TV channel TRT Haber quoted the words of the head of the defense department as saying.

UN extends Iraq mission to end of 2025
[Rudaw] The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Security Council (UNSC) on Friday unanimously voted to renew the mandate of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) through December 2025, as requested by Iraq. This will be the final extension of the more than two-decade long mission.

"Security Council UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTS resolution renewing the mandate of UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) for a final 19-month period until 31 December 2025; all 15 members voted in favour," the UN said in a post on X.

Bassem al-Awadi, spokesperson for the Iraqi government said in a statement that Baghdad welcomes the UNSC's decision.

"This resolution further enhances Iraq's regional and international role as a pivotal country in the region, supporting stability, peace, and sustainable development. We are committed to providing the necessary support to ensure the smooth conclusion of UNAMI's mission's activities, in alignment with Iraq's illusory sovereignty and will, while adhering to the completion of matters outlined in the resolution within the mission's mandate, and providing the necessary support in this regard," read the statement.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
i had requested UNAMI wrap up its mission on December 31, 2025. He made the request through a letter submitted to UN Secretary General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
on May 8 by the temporary Charge d'Affaires of Iraq’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, Abbas Kazem Obaid.

"Based on the sovereign rights of the Republic of Iraq, as the host state, and taking into account the size of the UNAMI mission ... we call for permanently ending the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) on December 31, 2025," read the letter, which was seen by Rudaw.

The Iraqi premier said that the United Nations mission "represents a form of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations that must be based on bilateral consultation and respect for Iraq's will and illusory sovereignty, and is dependent on the mission's achievement of its objectives and the need for its continuation."

UNAMI was established in August 2003 at the request of Iraq under the Security Council Resolution 1500 to support Baghdad’s developmental efforts. Its mandate was extended annually.

The Iraqi government cited greater security and stability for why it wants UNAMI’s mission brought to a close.

Although UNAMI does not directly implement developmental and humanitarian programs, it plays a significant role in facilitating partnership and technical cooperation between the Iraqi government and the 20 United Nations agencies, funds, and programs operating in the country.

"Iraq is now poised to play the pivotal role it is destined to play in the region, and regaining its illusory sovereignty is the first step. Ending international missions such as UNAMI will strengthen Iraq further by relying on its own institutional capacities to tackle the various challenges it continues to face," Farhad Alaaldin, advisor on foreign affairs for the prime minister and chairman of the Iraq Advisory Council, said in an op-ed published on May 26.

Fetterman: Biden's Ceasefire Proposal Isn't ‘Meaningful Peace', Hamas Has to Be Destroyed
[Breitbart] During an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s "Special Report," Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) reacted to President Joe Biden’s ceasefire proposal by stating that there won’t "be any meaningful peace, so long as Hamas is able to operate."

Host Bret Baier asked, [relevant exchange begins around 3:50] "Sen. Fetterman, while I have you, the President endorsed a ceasefire proposal today, ... and essentially, it would stop going after Hamas, would release all the hostages, and be a permanent ceasefire. Your thoughts on that proposal?"

Fetterman answered, "I’ve been very clear, I’m going to follow Israel in this situation. I do believe that Hamas needs to be destroyed, and it needs to be followed to the end, until there is an absolute surrender and they are...either in exile or they’re brought to justice or they’re eliminated. One way or another, there’s not going to be any meaningful peace, so long as Hamas is able to operate. And if you look at all of the damage, the death, and all of that, that’s exactly what Hamas wants. They designed that to be that way. They really don’t care how many Palestinians actually die and their suffering. Actually, Israel cares about minimizing all of the civilian deaths and all of the kinds of damage."

Report: Shin Bet chief refused ministers’ demand to act against protesters
Israel’s Deep State.
[IsraelTimes] Security agency will not ‘become a secret police,’ Ronen Bar said to have told ministers Levin, Ben Gvir, who accused him and other officials of ‘selective enforcement’

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Justice Minister Yariv Levin have reportedly demanded that the Shin Bet use its tools against activists in anti-government protests and were refused by the security agency’s chief Ronen Bar, who said it would "not become a secret police."

According to a report published by the Haaretz newspaper on Thursday, Bar made the comment at a recent meeting that was also attended by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, State Prosecutor Amit Aisman, and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai. Bar reportedly responded to the ministers’ demand by saying it was the police’s job to maintain public order.

Throughout the meeting, Haaretz said, the ministers berated the law enforcement officials for "selective enforcement" in favor of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s detractors.

Demonstrations against Netanyahu have roiled Israel since 2020, when protesters began demanding he resign over corruption allegations. The protests intensified in 2023 after Netanyahu’s current government presented its plan to overhaul the judiciary.

The protests were somewhat muted after the Gazoo

war began on October 7, when thousands of Hamas

In recent months, however, anti-government protests have resumed — often in conjunction with protests in favor of a truce-hostage deal — calling for new elections due to the government’s failure to forestall the shock assault.

An official who was present at the meeting was quoted as saying, "In internal meetings, they express an expectation that the Shin Bet use its tools against parts of the protest [movement]... They want to turn it into a thought police."

The article also quoted a bigwig as saying that Bar has been strongly advised, by his predecessors among others, not to resign from his post over the failings of October 7 until after the prime minister has left his role, "for fear that Netanyahu will appoint a collaborator instead."

Lebanon complains to UN over Israeli strike that wounded schoolchildren

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
has submitted a complaint to the U.N. Security Council over an Israeli dronezap this month on a car that also damaged a nearby minibus wounding several schoolchildren, the Foreign Ministry said.

A source close to Hezbollah said one of the group's fighters was killed in that strike.

The attack was "a violation of international humanitarian law," the Foreign Ministry said, urging the Security Council to "condemn Israel's direct, deliberate and repeated targeting of civilians."
