-Lurid Crime Tales-
Illegal migrant suffocated Syracuse woman, 21, he'd known since childhood on her birthday

[NYPOST] A migrant from Ecuador who entered the US illegally is accused of suffocating a 21-year-old Syracuse woman on her birthday and then burying her body in a shallow grave in an upstate New York park, authorities said.

Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis, 21, is charged with killing Joselyn Jhoana Toaquiza, a fellow Ecuadorian, after arranging to meet the victim for her birthday at his Airbnb in Syracuse on June 18, the Post-Standard reported. The pair, who are believed to have attended elementary school together in Ecuador, were captured on surveillance cameras entering the rental property just before 4:30 pm., cops said.

Just hours later, Chacaguasay-Ilbis allegedly re-emerged with a limp Toaquiza draped across his back — with her arms and legs wrapped around him — before carrying her body to a park opposite the Airbnb.

He allegedly buried her in the shallow grave and then hightailed it on a Greyhound bus back to his residence in Rockland County’s Spring Valley, according to cops.

Toaquiza’s remains weren’t discovered until Saturday after her family reported her missing.

The accused killer was slapped with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse charges after eventually turning himself in to cops late Tuesday.

He was arraigned Thursday in Syracuse City Court, where he claimed, via a Spanish interpreter, that he had zero recollection of the alleged slaying because he was too drunk.

Chacaguasay-Ilbis was picked up by US Border Patrol agents in January 2023 after illegally crossing the border in El Paso, Texas, a Homeland Security source told The Post.

Because there wasn’t enough space to hold him, he was released into the US with a tracking device.

The victim’s relatives said she had immigrated to the US last year. It wasn’t immediately clear, though, what the young woman’s immigration status was.

Houthis claim strikes on Israeli Haifa and ship in Red Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The army of the Shiite rebel movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) ruling in northern Yemen launched a comprehensive attack on the Seajoy ship in the Red Sea using drones, missiles and an unmanned boat, as well as on the Israeli city of Haifa, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said on June 27 on TV Al Masirah.

"The operation targeted the Seajoy vessel in the Red Sea because the company that owned it violated the ban on entering occupied Palestinian ports," he said.

Saria also reported that Yemeni rebels, together with the Shiite movement, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, launched several cruise missiles at a vital target in the Israeli Haifa.

As Regnum reported, on June 27, the Houthis announced that they had used a hypersonic missile for the first time to attack an Israeli ship. The plane was in the Arabian Sea during this attack.

The Houthis have been attacking Israeli-linked ships passing by Yemen since the fall of 2023. They say this is aid to the Palestinian Hamas movement, which is at war with Israel. On June 24, the rebels attacked the Greek bulk carrier Transworld Navigator in the Red Sea.

In Chile, a pro-Palestinian campus occupation turns witch hunt for ‘Zionist' faculty
Judenrein.
[ToI] Feeling abandoned by the university, at least two pro-Israel lecturers are preparing to leave UMCE in Santiago over fears for their safety amid student agitation

In April, Gladys Briceño removed a Palestinian flag that had been affixed without permission to the façade of a building in a public university where she teaches, near the Chilean capital of Santiago.

A musicology lecturer, who is not Jewish but who believes Israel has a right to exist, Briceño did this because she “didn’t think university facilities are the place to fly flags to make statements about controversial geopolitical conflicts,” she told The Times of Israel this week.

But in Chile, which has one of the largest Palestinian communities outside the Middle East, this action had major consequences for Briceño’s career and the entire university. The flag removal helped trigger an ongoing campus occupation by anti-Israel activists seeking the dismissal of “Zionist professors,” as they call Briceño and another faculty member, Noemi Grinspun, who is Jewish.

Occurring amid an uptick in violent antisemitism in Chile and beyond, the standoff (Spanish-language article) at the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences (UMCE) stands out amid a global wave of anti-Israel campus protests for its targeting of individual lecturers, who feel abandoned by their university administration.

The campaign coincides with weeks-long harassment of Chilean Jews at their community centers, a development that recently prompted the heads of Chile’s Jewish schools to tell students not to walk outdoors in their school uniforms for fear this would invite attacks against them.

In a list of demands that the organizers of the May 29 occupation submitted to the administration, they wrote that the university should “disconnect” itself from “the Zionist lecturers Gladys Briceño and Noemi Grinspun.” They “inhabit and transgress on our university space, actively teaching hate speech in the classroom and through their social networks,” the organizers wrote.

The campaign against Grinspun and Briceño is part of a broader pattern of anti-Israel harassment that escalated on October 7 following the Hamas onslaught on southern Israel that saw some 1,200 people murdered and 251 taken hostage to Gaza. The public outcry against the ensuing war with Hamas has bled over to antisemitism on several notable occasions, according to Ariela Agosin, the president of the Jewish Community of Chile organization, which represents the country’s 20,000-odd Jews.

Part of the problem, many Chilean Jews believe, is that protesters feel emboldened by the government led by Gabriel Boric, a far-left politician who became president of Chile in 2021.

In 2019, he spurned a Rosh Hashanah gift, a small pot of honey, that the Jewish Community of Chile had sent lawmakers.

“I appreciate the gesture but they could start by asking Israel to return the illegally occupied Palestinian territory,” Boric wrote on X (then Twitter) about Chilean Jews, many of whom cited this post as proof that he is antisemitic. Boric is the only Chilean president who has declined to meet with representatives of Chilean Jews, Agosin said.

His government has recalled its ambassador to Israel, as have several other Latin American countries after October 7.

Arizona Teen and Mother Kidnapped in Cartel-Controlled Area of Mexico
[Breitbart] The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for help in locating an Arizona teenage female and her mother who are believed to have been kidnapped while traveling in northern Mexico. The kidnapping is believed to have occurred along a stretch of highway where the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas has abducted dozens of innocent victims who have never been heard from again.

U.S. authorities are working with their Mexican counterparts to locate 17-year-old Jessica Garcia Rojo and her mother 56-year-old Juana Marcela Rojo who went missing shortly after crossing from Laredo, Texas into Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the FBI revealed. Garcia Rojo was born in Phoenix, Arizona. She and her mother have family ties to Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey.

The women are believed to have been traveling to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, in a white Dodge Caravan with New Mexico license plates, when they went missing shortly before 9 p.m. on May 15. Relatives reported them missing on May 28.
Two weeks later? At that point, why bother.
As Breitbart Texas reported, the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas controls the area between Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey. That hyperviolent criminal organization has been responsible for hundreds of forced disappearances in recent years. In addition to the kidnappings, the CDN-Los Zetas routinely set up highway checkpoints where they extort travelers and kidnap those who are unable to pay.

The ongoing violence and number of kidnappings led officials to call the highway connecting Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo the “Highway of Death.” In 2023, Mexican Senator, a state congressman, Waldo Fernandez called for government officials to put aside political differences and work to ensure public safety in the region, Breitbart Texas reported.

Despite Fernandez’s efforts, Mexican authorities have done little to stop the reign of terror that the CDN-Los Zetas and other cartels have spread through northern Mexico.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The number of victims of terrorist attacks in Dagestan has reached 22
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Derbent resident Saidulla Badaev, wounded during a militant attack on a local synagogue, has died, sources reported today. The total number of victims of the attack increased to 22.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on June 23, on the Day of the Holy Trinity, which is one of the main Christian holidays, militants attacked synagogues and an Orthodox church in Derbent and Makhachkala. As a result of the attacks, 21 people died and 46 were injured. On June 26, doctors called the condition of six people injured in the militant attack serious.

During the attack on the synagogue, militants wounded local resident Saidulla Badaev, who lived in the Karyer microdistrict, Dagestan Online reported today.

Badaev died from his wound; he was 66 years old, the Mash Gor telegram channel reported today.

This brings the number of victims of terrorist attacks in Dagestan to 22.

Let us remind you that the attacks by militants in Derbent and Makhachkala were  the first armed incidents  in Dagestan in more than a year. The attack by militants on churches and synagogues interrupted a 13-month calm in the republic. At the same time, a number of incidents involving attacks on religious figures and places of worship occurred earlier in Dagestan.

Veterans of the special services interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" said that the attacks by militants in Dagestan  were a failure of the security forces, who did not pay due attention to preventive work. On June 23, the American Institute for the Study of War stated that  the  Vilayat Caucasus cell, a division of the Islamic State, was behind the attacks.

Swedish court indicts teen for going to Israeli embassy with semi-automatic weapon
[IsraelTimes] 15-year-old claims he was given gun and was unaware taxi he was riding in was heading toward embassy; Swedes claim Iran recruiting local gang members

A Swedish court on Thursday found a 15-year-old boy guilty of possession of a semi-automatic weapon while heading to the Israeli embassy in Stockholm in a taxi. The conviction came less than a month after Sweden’s intelligence agency accused Iran of recruiting gang members to attack Israeli interests in the Scandinavian country.

The boy was arrested on May 16 when police stopped a taxi in the Tyreso suburb south of Stockholm, en route to the Israeli embassy in the capital. He was carrying the gun in his jacket.

The following night, a 14-year-old boy was arrested after a shooting near the Israeli embassy. That investigation is still underway.

The 15-year-old, who was sentenced to 11 months of juvenile supervision, told the Nacka district court he had been ordered to pick up an item in Tyreso for delivery, according to the verdict obtained by AFP. He said he thought he would collect drugs and only discovered it would be a gun on the way to pick up the item.
Not exactly an innocent, then.
He said he found out he was going to the Israeli embassy when he got in the taxi, which a woman had ordered for him. fThe taxi driver confirmed that a woman, whose identity has not been established, gave the driver the embassy address. The teen told the court he felt tricked, but still went ahead with the assignment.

Prosecutors presented evidence from the boy’s smartphone showing that he had looked up the route to the embassy, and the court ruled the youth “knew that the trip was going to the embassy even if he was unable to give the taxi driver an address.”

The fact that the weapon was discovered en route to the embassy meant “the weapon typically could be feared to be used criminally,” the court said.

However, the ruling emphasized that there was “no investigation in the case about what was actually planned to happen” that night. It was not known why the police stopped the taxi.

Sweden’s intelligence agency, Sapo, on May 30 accused Iran of recruiting gang members in Sweden, some of them children, as proxies to commit “acts of violence against other states, groups or people in Sweden that it considers a threat.”

It cited in particular “Israeli and Jewish interests, targets and operations in Sweden.”

According to Sapo, Iran has conducted “security-threatening activities in and against Sweden for several years.”

On January 31, police found a live grenade in the grounds of the Israeli compound.

Sweden has seen a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents since the October 7 Hamas onslaught, which saw terrorists infiltrate Israel, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 251.

A total of 110 complaints were registered by police between October 7 and December 31, according to the report by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention. In 2022, the figure was 24.

Anti-Israel sentiments were also prominent when the Scandinavian country hosted the Eurovision song competition last month, as protesters demonstrated against Israeli contestant Eden Golan, who was booed during her performances.

Moment bungling team of drug smugglers are saved from the top of their sinking Colombian Narco sub...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] …280 miles off the Spanish coast - before cops arrest them.

The men can be seen standing on top of a sinking submersible.

Dramatic footage shows how drug smugglers aboard a narco submarine headed for Spain's southern coast were rescued on Wednesday from the sinking vessel before getting arrested in the middle of the Atlantic.

In a video released by the Spanish civil guard and the Spain's Tax Agency, four men, who are Colombian nationals, can be seen in life vests standing on top of a sinking submersible as a customs surveillance ship approaches the vessel.

Another clip shows the sub's crew floating in the sea as waves crash against them, alongside black barrels - which the crew appear to have held on to to stay afloat.

The men can then be seen climbing up a ladder onto the ship, before another video shows them getting arrested once they get onboard. The drug smugglers are then seen lying face down while they are handcuffed civil guards.

The blue vessel had been navigating the waters 280 miles west of the coast of Cadiz when its crew spotted a surveillance ship.

According to the Tax Agency, the men came to the surface and opened the submarine's valves, allowing the vessel to fill with water and sink to the bottom of the sea, along with its precious cargo.

Police believe the vessel was carrying a large shipment of cocaine given its similarity to previously-seized narco submarines.

The operation, which was jointly carried out by the Spanish civil guard, the national police and the Tax Agency, started on Monday when authorities received a tip from the US's Drug Enforcement Agency.

The DEA had reportedly detected a potential drop off between an unknown vessel and a semi-submersible.

The 20-meter blue submarine was eventually spotted off the coast of Cadiz, which authorities successfully intercepted.

It so happens that the customs surveillance ship was already loaded with 900 kilograms of seized cocaine following an operation just a few days prior.

The surveillance ship on Saturday had spotted a speedboat carrying a shipment of cocaine near the Canary Islands after having had received a tip from the British National Crime Agency and the DEA.

9000 kg of cocaine were dumped into the ocean by the seafaring criminals as the civil guard attempted to catch the drug mules during what was reported to have been a six-hour-long chase, according to Canarias7.

While the speedboat managed to escape and reach the island of La Palma, authorities discovered the abandoned boat on Tazacorte beach on the island the following day. Police said the boat corresponded with the one chased the day prior.

Florida man becomes 6th charged with antisemitic mob beating of Jewish man in Times Square
[NYPOST] A Florida man became the sixth attacker indicted in the brutal caught-on-camera beating of a Jewish man in Times Square in 2021, Manhattan prosecutors said Thursday.

Salem Seleiman, 28, was arrested on a warrant on May 10 — nearly three years after he allegedly joined the hateful mob who pummeled victim Joseph Borgen during festivities between Israel and Paleostinian supporters in Midtown.

Seleiman was part of a pack of men that hurled antisemitic slurs like "dirty Jew," "filthy Jew" and "f—k Israel" at Borgen, who was wearing a yarmulke, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

The 29-year-old victim, who had been attending a pro-Israel rally when he was attacked May 20, 2021, was thrown to the ground, punched, hit with a crutch and pepper-sprayed — with footage of the vicious beating later going viral on social media.

As good Samaritans tried to intervene, Seleiman pretended to offer to help Borgen — only to then unload a kick in his face as he lay on the ground, prosecutors said.

"Seleiman’s alleged conduct was abhorrent and many of the other individuals who joined him have already been convicted and are serving state prison sentences," DA Alvin Bragg
...Soros-owned and operated Manhattan DA. Putting vicious and blood-thirsty criminals in jail only makes them unhappy, and they've led such hard lives after all...
said in a statement.

"Violently assaulting someone because of their religion is unacceptable, and we will continue to work with our law enforcement partners, community groups and local leaders to address attacks on the Jewish community."

Seleiman, who was extradited from Tampa, Fla., was arraigned in Manhattan Supreme Court Thursday and pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to hate crime assault and attempted gang assault charges. Judge Felicia Mennin set his bail at $50,000.

Feds ID 400 migrants smuggled into US by ISIS-affiliated network —with the whereabouts of 50 unknown
[NYPOST] The Department of Homeland Security has identified over 400 migrants colonists who were brought to the US from Central Asia and other places by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network — and the whereabouts of more than 50 of them are unknown, according to an unsettling report.

More than 150 of the migrants colonists have been arrested, but the locations of another 50 remain unknown, three US officials told NBC News, adding that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement is looking to arrest those involved on immigration charges.

"In this case, it was the information that suggested a potential tie to ISIS because of some of the individuals involved in [smuggling migrants colonists to the border] that led us to want to take extra care," a senior Biden administration official told the outlet, "and out of an abundance of caution make sure that we exercised our authority in the most expansive and appropriate way to mitigate risk because of this potential connection being made."

The official noted that since ICE started arresting migrants colonists brought into the US by the smuggling group several months ago, no information has tied them to any threats to the US.

Many of the over 400 migrants colonists involved had crossed the southern border and were released into the country by Customs and Border Protection because they were not on the government’s terrorism watchlist, the three anonymous officials said.

While the agency did not have information raising concerns at the time the migrants colonists entered the country, recent terrorist attacks in Russia have caused heightened concern over ISIS and its offshoot ISIS-K.

As a result, the Department of Homeland Security has been monitoring migrants colonists coming from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Russia — all places ISIS-K has been observed.

One of those hotbed locations, Tajikistan, had over 1,500 migrants colonists come into the US between October 2020 and May 2024, according to leaked border data obtained by The Post.

It’s unknown how many of the Tajik migrants colonists were released into the US, but the vast majority of migrants colonists caught at the border claim asylum and are allowed to stay while they await a court hearing.

ISIS-K was responsible for a massive attack on a concert hall in Moscow — carried out by citizens of Tajikistan — that killed 145 people and maimed hundreds more on March 22.

"The fact that the whereabouts were unknown is clearly alarming," former FBI counterterrorism section chief Christopher O’Leary told NBC.

According to O’Leary, ICE is likely looking to arrest these people even if there’s no evidence they are plotting a terrorist attack.

"I believe the [U.S.] is scrambling to locate these individuals, and using the immigration charges is not uncommon," O’Leary said. "They are in violation of that law. And if you need to take somebody off the street, that’s a good approach to do it."

Federal law enforcement agencies are "not panicking" about the group of people, but they have been identified as "subjects of concern," and are prioritizing them for arrest out an an abundance of caution, two of the officials noted.

Some of the 150 migrants colonists who were arrested have already been deported out of the country, the officials added.

While some of those detained or deported have been charged with immigration violations, none have been charged with terrorism-related offenses.

IDF releases images showing Doctors Without Borders staffer in Islamic Jihad uniform

From a Skid comment which deserves it's own posting.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF releases images showing Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket expert Fadi al-Wadiya wearing the terror group’s uniform, after Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), or Doctors Without Borders, named him as a staffer but denied he was a terror operative.

Al-Wadiya was killed in a drone strike in Gaza City yesterday.

The organization then said in a post on X that al-Wadiya was killed while riding his bicycle to the MSF clinic where he worked.

The IDF said he was a prominent member of Islamic Jihad, involved in developing missiles for the terror group, as well as being an electronics and chemistry expert.

Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, says al-Wadiya worked for Islamic Jihad’s rocket manufacturing unit for more than 15 years.

He attaches three images showing al-Wadiya in Islamic Jihad uniform.

Adraee adds that in 2018, the same year that al-Wadiya joined Doctors Without Borders, the latter tried to leave Gaza for Iran to undergo training there with two other terror operatives.

Soldier killed, 16 injured by roadside bombs during operation in West Bank’s Jenin
[IsraelTimes] Army bulldozers didn’t detect large explosives buried deep under road in northern West Bank; most damage caused when 2nd bomb exploded as troops came to assist

An Israeli soldier was killed and several others were maimed by roadside kabooms in the northern West Bank’s Jenin refugee camp early on Thursday, the military said.

The slain soldier was named as Cpt. Alon Sacgiu, 22, a sniper team commander in the Kfir Brigade’s Haruv reconnaissance unit, from Hadera.

The Israel Defense Forces had been carrying out an overnight raid in Jenin aimed at arresting or killing members of a Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
terror network in the city and adjacent refugee camp. It was part of a long series of counter-terrorism operations in the area, military sources said.

According to an initial IDF probe, a Panther armored personnel carrier (APC) used by a medical force was hit by a bomb planted under a road in Jenin during the operation, at around midnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

The blast slightly hurt the soldiers inside the APC. As additional forces reached the scene and worked to evacuate the maimed soldiers, another bomb went kaboom!, leading to the death of Sacgiu and the injury of additional troops.

terror group grabbed credit for the attack.

In all, 16 soldiers were maimed by the bombs — one seriously, five moderately, and the rest lightly.

The slain soldier and the more seriously maimed were all outside of their armored vehicle when the second bomb went off, according to the IDF’s initial probe. The APC was largely able to protect the soldiers inside from the initial attack, with only minor injuries from the blast and smoke inhalation.

Before the APC drove along the road where the attack took place, a military D9 bulldozer and backhoe had scraped the road to uncover any potential improvised bombs (IEDs).

Armed groups in Jenin frequently plant IEDs under roads to attack Israeli forces carrying out arrest raids, and as such, the military rips up the roads with armored bulldozers before entering with lighter-armed vehicles.

Still, the two large IEDs were not discovered by the bulldozer and backhoe, and the military believes that they were planted much deeper in the ground than usual — around a meter and a half (5 feet) below ground. Normally, such explosives are buried a few dozen centimeters (one or two feet) under roads.

The IDF was probing how the bombs were activated, either by wire or wirelessly. Findings at the scene indicated that both methods could have been used, an initial probe found.

The military was also investigating how to detect such IEDs better and how to extract maimed soldiers from such incidents in a safer manner.

According to the Paleostinian Authority health ministry, more than 540 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed amid raids or forces of Evil carrying out attacks.

During the same period, 21 Israelis, including security personnel, have been killed in Paleostinian terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another four members of the security forces were killed in festivities with terror operatives in the West Bank, including in Thursday’s incident.

There was no immediate comment from the military.

Residents said they were taken by surprise by the sound of tanks approaching and firing in the early afternoon, with drones also attacking after overnight strikes of the city, which Israel had swept early in the war.

The IDF last operated in Shejaiya in April.

"It sounded as if the war is restarting, a series of bombings that destroyed several houses in our area and shook the buildings," Mohammad Jamal, 25, a resident of Gaza City, told Rooters via a chat app.

in the south of the Gaza Strip, a group of Hamas operatives at a school in Khan Younis were targeted in an airstrike, the military said on Thursday.

According to the IDF, the al-Hasna school was being used by Hamas as a command center where operatives "planned, directed and carried out many attacks" against Israeli forces in the Strip.

The operatives were hit by fighter jets and drones.

The IDF said that the strike was "carefully planned and carried out," and it used precision munitions to mitigate harm to civilians.

Senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal acknowledged in an interview with Sky News Arabic on Thursday the damage wrought on the territory in the aftermath of the terrorist organization’s October 7 attack.

since the start of the war, the United States has transferred security-related aid totaling some $6.5 billion to Israel, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing an American official.

The unnamed official said almost half of that was provided last month alone. The report indicated the official was seeking to counter charges of insufficient US backing for Israel amid the conflict.

"This is a massive, massive undertaking," the official said, noting that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and his teams sat down with American officials and went over the "hundreds of separate items" sent to Israel during their visit to Washington this week.

The war in Gaza broke out on October 7 with Hamas’s unprecedented attack on southern Israel in which forces of Evil massacred some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took 251 hostages.

According to an IDF tally, 315 troops have been killed during the ground offensive against Hamas and amid operations along the Gaza border. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission. A civilian Defense Ministry contractor has also been killed in the Strip.

Israel strikes reportedly creating 5-kilometer ‘dead zone’ in southern Lebanon
Good.
[IsraelTimes] Financial Times analysis of satellite imagery shows extensive destruction of structures, but IDF says it is only targeting Hezbollah, which admits to using civilian homes

Israel Defense Forces strikes in southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
, responding to near-daily attacks by the Hezbollah terror group, have created a "dead zone" around 5 kilometers (3 miles) deep along the border with Israel, The Financial Times reported Thursday, citing data gleaned from aerial photographs.

"Near-daily aerial bombardment, artillery shelling and the incendiary chemical white phosphorus have made much of the 5 kilometers north of the Blue Line uninhabitable," the report claimed.

The Financial Times analyzed data from commercial satellites with research from the CUNY Graduate Center and Oregon State University to detect changes to buildings.

According to the report, only "handfuls" of Lebanese civilians remain in the area, with most buildings empty and many destroyed. The analysis identified 1,500 badly damaged structures, although this figure was considered a "conservative lower-bound estimate." A Lebanese official, Hashem Haidar, told The Financial Times that 3,000 homes in the country’s south have been completely leveled, and 12,000 have incurred medium-level damage.

Haidar added that Israeli strikes have thoroughly damaged civilian infrastructure. "The type of weaponry that’s being used is different from what we saw in 2006," he told The Financial Times. "Before, when a house was bombed, the damage would be confined to the house and its immediate surroundings. Now, there are entire neighborhoods that are being affected by one bombing."
Call it "The tunnel effect"
Haidar also said 12,000 square kilometers (7,456 square miles) of agricultural land have been destroyed by the Israel Defense Forces’s use of white phosphorus. The IDF denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
Guess that's different than flaming balloons
saying their use of the substance is consistent with international law and it is not used for incendiary purposes, but rather to create smokescreens.

In total, Haidar estimated the cost of damages exceeded $1.7 billion.

The report quoted Mohammad Srour, the mayor of Ayta ash-Shab, as saying that the strikes amount to "systematic destruction." The analysis showed 292 buildings were damaged in the southern Lebanese village.

A senior IDF official denied the conclusions of the analysis, telling The Financial Times: "This is not a buffer zone."

"We just want Hezbollah pushed back. We don’t have an issue with [UN peacekeeping troops], [Lebanese Armed Forces] or Lebanese civilians staying there... But we have to ’clean out’ the area of Hezbollah’s presence," the official added. "They pose a direct threat to Israeli homes via sniper fire, anti-tank guided missiles, cross-border attack and other means. This is a tactical need to provide security for Israeli residents.

"Every third home in south Lebanon is used by Hezbollah for weapons storage, training, firing positions and meeting points for a possible cross-border attack."

The report added that some of the 95,000 evacuated Lebanese civilians from the south take advantage of funerals of Hezbollah bully boyz to visit their homes, as it is understood that Israel does not strike areas during an internment.

During these visits, they are heartbroken by the sites, with one local mayor telling The Financial Times, "There are neighborhoods that look like Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
." Eight residents told The Financial Times that their homes were struck within hours of their visit, allegedly a warning by the IDF not to return.

The report quoted Hezbollah bully boyz as saying that they use abandoned civilian homes to shelter and store weapons, and that these homes have been targeted by Israeli strikes.

The FT article did not mention the damage caused to homes in Israel from daily Hezbollah attacks or the thousands of Israelis who have had to evacuate their homes.

Under United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Security Council Resolution 1701, adopted in 2006 to bring an end to the war between Israel and Hezbollah terrorists, UN peacekeepers were deployed to monitor a ceasefire along the 120-kilometer (75-mile) demarcation line, or Blue Line, between Israel and Lebanon.

The resolution also called for Hezbollah to withdraw its forces behind the Litani River, some 30 kilometers (19 miles) north of the border with Israel— a demand the terror group has ignored.

The report quotes an unnamed Hezbollah terrorist as saying, "Asking us to withdraw from the south is like asking a fish not to swim in the sea."

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gaza amid the war there.

So far, the skirmishes on the border have resulted in 10 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 15 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 349 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 64 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have been killed.

Al-Aqsa imam indicted on charges of incitement to terrorism
[IsraelTimes] Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, former mufti of Jerusalem, is accused of praising terror attacks in 2022 in which four Israelis were killed; he says charges are ‘fabricated’

The imam of Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque denounced on Thursday a "fabricated" campaign against him after being charged with inciting terrorism for allegedly praising Paleostinian button men who killed four Israelis, including a soldier.

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, 85, formerly mufti of Jerusalem and now head of the Supreme Islamic Council in the city, preaches at the contested Jerusalem holy site.

Sabri was indicted this week for inciting terrorism for comments he made that allegedly supported an attacker who shot at guards in the West Bank settlement of Maale Adumim, killing a soldier, in October 2022.

The imam is also accused of praising a second attacker, Raad Hazam, who killed three Israelis and maimed six others in an April 2022 shooting in Tel Aviv. The 28-year-old was later killed in a shootout with security guards.

"The state attorney’s office submitted to the Jerusalem magistrate court an indictment against... the former mufti of the city, after he incited terrorism and praised terrorists," the Justice Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

It said Sabri had "praised and sympathized with terrorists" during a visit to Hazam’s family home.

Sabri denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
saying he merely offered condolences to the families of the attackers after their deaths.

"This is a false accusation; the indictment is fabricated and malicious," he said.

"Offering condolences does not mean that we support what the children did."

Sabri’s lawyer Khaled Zabarqa said his client had been targeted for political reasons.

"The indictment is the result of political action and not legal action. The sheikh has been persecuted for two years," he told AFP.

The al-Aqsa Mosque compound sits on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism. The flashpoint site is considered the third holiest in Islam and the holiest in Judaism.

The site’s status is the emotional epicenter of the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, and even perceived changes have ignited previous rounds of violence.

Jews are officially only allowed to visit, but not pray.

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir this month called for Jews to be allowed to pray at the sensitive site, but higher officials have rebuffed the idea, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said that the status quo will not change at the site.

Protesters in Jerusalem, Caesarea urge Netanyahu ouster, demand hostage deal

About 3,000 people demonstrated outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea, according to unofficial estimates. In Jerusalem, a crowd estimated at some 5,000 people marched from the Chords bridge on the western edge of the city to Azza Street, where the prime minister also has a home. Smaller protests were also held in other cities around the country.

Protesters held signs calling for the removal of the government, blaming it for the lack of progress in reaching a deal to free hostages kidnapped on October 7 and mismanaging the war effort.

"We’ve been abandoned — Elections now!" read one sign that rose above the crowd. Demonstrators yelled through megaphones, waved flags and banged on snare drums while coppers stood at barricades.

"How much more blood will be spilled until you leave," protesters in Caesarea chanted, along with "bring home the hostages and leave."

As the sun began to set, protesters in Jerusalem blocked traffic and lit a large fire.

Police in Jerusalem said in a statement they were restoring order after demonstrators "set a fire in the middle of a road, in a residential neighborhood and another group of lawbreakers attempted to break through a police barricade."

There were no reports of major scuffles and police did not use a water cannon to control the crowd, as they have during more rowdy demonstrations. No arrests were announced.

Earlier in the day, police said they detained a suspect en route to Jerusalem with containers of flammable material and devices for creating smoke screens. Police also said they discovered a cache of tires stuffed with flammable cloths on Thursday morning, meant to be used to block traffic on Route 1.

In Caesarea, police reportedly found a smoke grenade attached to a wire in the area designated outside Netanyahu’s home designated for the demonstration.

Netanyahu’s Likud party complained in a statement that "incitement against Prime Minister Netanyahu has crossed another red line tonight... The writing is on the wall."

Among those demonstrating in Jerusalem was Einav Tzangauker, whose son Matan is being held captive in Gaza, who has become a central fixture of the near-nightly demonstrations.

"The prime minister decided to give up on the hostages," she said, accusing him of being less interested in winning the war or recovering the hostages than in staying in power.

"We will topple him to bring them home and to bring back security to the citizens of Israel," she declared. "There will not be a deal or reconstruction without the fall of the Netanyahu regime. When he falls, we will rise."

Efforts to reach an agreement with Hamas to free the estimated 116 hostages and remains still in captivity have failed to progress in recent weeks, with Hamas demanding the war first end before anyone in released, a condition rejected by Netanyahu’s government.

The US and Israel have both blamed Hamas for rejecting Israel’s last offer earlier this month.

Earlier Thursday, anti-government demonstrators blocked main highways near Tel Aviv and Haifa.

On the Ayalon Highway near Tel Aviv, demonstrators set a metallic cage on fire emblazoned with the word "Help."

The war in Gaza was sparked by Hamas’s October 7 rampage in southern Israel, in which Death Eaters killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 251 more into Gaza.

Israel says at least 42 of those held by Hamas are no longer alive, and unofficial estimates are thought to be even higher, with families saying time is running short for those still alive. Despite conquering most of the Strip over the past eight months and decimating the terror group’s fighting forces, Israeli troops have only managed to recover seven hostages alive, and have failed to locate most of Hamas’s top leaders.

A week-long truce in November saw 105 civilians released from Hamas captivity during a weeklong truce, and four hostages were released prior to that. The bodies of another 19 hostages have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the military.

Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015, as well as the bodies of two IDF soldiers who were killed in 2014.

Hezbollah shells north with 40 rockets after operative killed in IDF drone strike
[IsraelTimes] Hezbollah launched a barrage of some 40 rockets at northern Israel on Thursday afternoon, in what the terror group said was a response to recent Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, including the killing of one of its operatives earlier in the day.

The exchange of fire came as American intelligence expected a major escalation between Israel and Hezbollah in the coming weeks in the absence of a ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Politico reported.

An unnamed senior US official told the outlet that the risk of war is higher than it has been for weeks. The officials said that a major attack by either side, which could spark a war, could happen with “little notice.”

Amid travel warnings from Washington and several European countries, two senior officials who spoke to Politico said the start date of a war was unclear, but that Israel was acquiring arms and building up forces quickly.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces said most of the rockets fired in the major barrage at the northern city of Safed and nearby communities were downed by the Iron Dome air defense system.
