ISLAMABAD BRACES FOR POSSIBLE VIOLENCE – Due to the drama surrounding former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s corruption trial, Pakistan’s security and judicial leaders are implementing several special protocols for his expected appearance in court today. The security protocols are:
The court case has been moved from the F8 Court Complex to the G-11 Judicial Complex to ensure Khan’s personal safety.
Section 144, a ban on public gatherings and display of weapons, has been imposed across all of Islamabad.
Private companies, security guards, and individuals will not be allowed to carry weapons for the duration of the court proceedings.
Citizens and visitors are required to have their documents on them while they move around the city.
Vehicular travel in sectors G-11/1 and G-10/1 is discouraged.
Shipping containers have been put in place around the Judicial Complex
Based on the PTI party’s actions during Khan’s court appearance last month, violence is deemed likely. At-risk Afghans residing in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are advised to avoid the areas near the Judicial Complex and any sites where large concentrations of police vehicles/personnel are stationed. These will be obvious targets for any PTI supporters who wish to protest their leader’s treatment.

[Dawn] The Additional Inspector General of Police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Shaukat Abbas, said on Friday that the Counter Terrorism Department has apprehended a key suspect linked to the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Pakistain (TTP).
On Jan 30, a powerful explosion destroyed a mosque in Peshawar’s Red Zone area where between 300 and 400 people — mostly coppers — had gathered for prayers. The suicide kaboom blew away the wall of the prayer hall and an inner roof and claimed 84 lives.
The outlawed TTP had initially grabbed credit for the attack. However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... it later distanced itself from it but sources earlier indicated that it might have been the handiwork of some local faction of the outlawed group.
Addressing a presser today, the senior KP police official asserted that the TTP’s group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar was behind the incident.
I seem to recall that they originally claimed it...
"The bomber who carried out the attack is known as ’Qari’ in the TTP circles," the official added.
He said that the suspect detained by law enforcement officials was a "backup jacket wallah" who would have been used as a secondary option during the attack in case the first bomber failed to detonate his vest.
The suspect was identified as Imtiaz Khan and was arrested by the CTD with the help of law enforcement agencies, according to the additional IG.
The bigwig declined to identify the place from where the suspect was arrested. However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... he reiterated that the alleged bomber got training in the Kunduz area of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, he mentioned that law enforcement had identified a "criminal mastermind" and a "handler" associated with the bombers, and they were currently making efforts to apprehend them.
The criminal mastermind was identified as Ghaffar alias Salman. "We have found that Ghaffar was in contact with the suicide bomber on the day of the incident. We are trying to apprehend the handler and criminal mastermind of the attack."
Pakistain has witnessed a surge in TTP violence since peace talks between the murderous Moslem group and the government broke down in the latter half of last year. The TTP formally ended the ceasefire on November 28 and since then 58 attacks have been claimed by the group in which 170 people died.
Many of these attacks were planned and directed by the TTP leadership based in Afghanistan, according to a Dawn report.

The group has exploited political instability and security weaknesses in these areas to launch attacks on security forces and civilians. In addition, ISIS has also been carrying out kidnappings and liquidations targeting tribal leaders and government officials.
Overall, while ISIS's activity in Iraq has decreased in recent years, the group still poses a threat to the security and stability of the country. Moreover, the ongoing conflict in neighboring Syria, which has provided a haven for ISIS Death Eaters, also complicates efforts to eradicate the group in Iraq.
[IsraelTimes] 16 and 19-year-old from Tel Aviv allegedly considered lynching Arab Israeli but instead decided to target mosque, which they filmed and later posted to TikTok
Two Jewish suspects, including a minor, were indicted Friday on terror charges for recently Molotov cocktailing a mosque in the central city of Herzliya.
The Tel Aviv residents, aged 16 and 19, were arrested by police in the past few days for targeting the Sidna Ali Mosque in January with Molotov cocktails as an act of Dire Revenge for Paleostinian terror attacks, according to a Justice Ministry statement.
The suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism and arson offenses. The roof of the mosque was left covered in soot due to the act.
The indictment also alleged the two considered carrying out a lynch of an Arab-Israeli but decided instead to act against the mosque.
In May 2021, an Arab man was targeted in a vicious racist assault by as many as 15 men outside the Herzliya site, amid an intense wave of intercommunal violence that accompanied fighting in Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... between Paleostinian snuffies and Israeli forces.
According to Friday’s charge sheet, the two initially scoped out the well-known Hassan Bek Mosque in Jaffa to attack in the early hours of January 29. However, Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... their suspicious activity was noticed by a passerby, who threatened to call the police.
The two subsequently fled, then searched "mosques" on the Waze navigation application, where they found the Sinda Ali Mosque. Before heading there, they allegedly purchased bottles and fuel from a Tel Aviv gas station, arriving with Molotov cocktails already prepared.
The indictment said that while one of the accused threw two of the explosives at the roof of the mosque, the other filmed the act on his phone. After that, the second allegedly threw a third explosive, before the pair expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.
One Molotov cocktail set the roof alight, causing minor damage.
The suspect who filmed the incident sent the video to his alleged accomplice, who uploaded it to TikTok with the text, "message to Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,, the people of Israel want Dire Revenge and this is only the beginning." The post also included a distorted voice recording of the text.
In his request to arrest them, Tel Aviv prosecutor Tal Eliyahu warned that if the mosque caught fire, it could have led to "an escalation of severe acts of violence in Israeli society, on a religious and nationalistic basis."
According to the Shin Bet, there has been a rise in motivation to attack Arabs since a group of settlers rampaged through the West Bank town of Huwara in February following a deadly terror attack, burning cars and homes and leaving one Paleostinian dead in unclear circumstances.
Paleostinian terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank in recent months have left 14 Israelis dead and several more seriously hurt.
