[Regnum] The Kiev regime does not want to return the bodies of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to their families. This was reported on July 11 by the pro-Russian underground.
“The Kiev authorities told one of the relatives of the deceased VSU soldier that the body of her relative who died at the front will not be given to her for burial until at least two years have passed, and then they will begin to discuss with her the possibility of any kind of financial compensation,” the source told RIA Novosti.
The underground indicated that this was not the only case of sabotage of the transfer of the bodies of the dead to relatives.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, it became known earlier that the bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, transferred by Russia as a gesture of goodwill following the Istanbul agreements of June 2, are being burned in order to avoid paying compensation to their relatives. On July 10, TASS published footage from a surveillance camera, presumably from a crematorium in the Ternopil region. In it, three men in protective suits and masks bring a body on a gurney and burn it in an oven.
After the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul, the first 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers were delivered to the exchange site on June 6. Ukraine, without explanation, postponed the acceptance of the bodies of its soldiers. Thus, refrigerated trucks with frozen corpses stood at the border for several days.
