The attack on traffic police officers in the center of Nalchik was committed at about 18:00 Moscow time today. According to preliminary data, two attackers were armed with knives.Â
One police officer was stabbed, he was taken to hospital and is undergoing emergency surgery, part of Lenin Avenue has been cordoned off, the Sapa Kavkaz Telegram channel reported. One of the attackers was shot dead, the second managed to escape, Baza reports.Â
The videos published by the channels show police officers chasing two fleeing people and shooting at them.
