| UN rights office condemns Palestinian Authority over killing of teenager in Jenin |

| [IsraelTimes] The UN’s Human Rights Office issues a statement condemning the Paleostinian Authority after its security forces rubbed out a 19-year-old in the northern West Bank’s Jenin Refugee Camp earlier this week. The PA says it has been operating against terror groups in Jenin for the past week and initially sought to distance itself from the incident before footage of the shooting was posted on social media, showing PA troops opening fire at the apparently unarmed Rebhi Shalabi, killing him and injuring his 15-year-old cousin. The incident sparked renewed protests against the PA in Jenin. The Paleostinian branch of the UN’s Human Rights Office issues a statement calling on the PA to investigate the conduct of its security forces and hold those responsible for rights violations accountable. The UN office says the PA’s ongoing operations in the Jenin camp have "disrupted access to education and healthcare," highlighting the security forces’ takeover of a hospital in the northern West Bank city. The UN statement makes no mention of the activity in the northern West Bank by various terror groups that the PA has been trying to combat at Israel’s behest in order to restore security and stability to the area. |
