| Pete Hegseth's brutal putdown to Fox News reporter questioning his women in combat diss | |

Donald Trump's pick to lead the Defense Department is battling a tricky confirmation after past allegations of sexual misconduct and excessive drinking have resurfaced. He is also dealing with fallout after past comments that women shouldn't hold military combat roles as he tries to win Senate support. On Tuesday, Hegseth snapped at his ex-colleague Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie when she pressed him about his position on women service members. 'A lot of folks have been up in arms about those comments that you made about women in combat. Do you want to just address it really quickly? How do you feel about the women in combat?' Hasnie asked. 'We have amazing women who serve in our military. Amazing women,' he deflected. Hasnie pressed: 'Do you think they should be in combat?' 'I think they're already in combat,' Hegseth shot back during the tense exchange. | |

| #6 Sometimes female soldiers will find themselves in battle, and so should be trained and drilled — 10/7/2023 in southern Israel being a perfect example of both female soldier fighting successes and failures — but for a lot of reasons it’s better if in general they’re the tail rather than the tip of the spear. |

| #5 Eggs are expensive, sperm is cheap. Last I looked, eggs were up to $6 a dozen. No idea what sperm goes for these days. Goofing aside, the relative cost is a biological fact. The other inconvenient truth is that humans are sexually dimorphic with boy humans being, on average, bigger/stronger/faster that girl humans. If you look at sports records as an example, world class women athletes generally perform at or below the level of high school boys. It used to be that the military was one place where you did not lie to yourself because your delusions about the world would get you killed. There are war-fighting roles for women but combat is not one of them. I hope we get this sorted out before we pay a huge price. Like the man said, the race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but it's a good way to bet. |
