[Regnum] The army of the Shiite rebel movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) ruling in northern Yemen launched a comprehensive attack on the Seajoy ship in the Red Sea using drones, missiles and an unmanned boat, as well as on the Israeli city of Haifa, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said on June 27 on TV Al Masirah.
"The operation targeted the Seajoy vessel in the Red Sea because the company that owned it violated the ban on entering occupied Palestinian ports," he said.
Saria also reported that Yemeni rebels, together with the Shiite movement, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, launched several cruise missiles at a vital target in the Israeli Haifa.
As Regnum reported, on June 27, the Houthis announced that they had used a hypersonic missile for the first time to attack an Israeli ship. The plane was in the Arabian Sea during this attack.
The Houthis have been attacking Israeli-linked ships passing by Yemen since the fall of 2023. They say this is aid to the Palestinian Hamas movement, which is at war with Israel. On June 24, the rebels attacked the Greek bulk carrier Transworld Navigator in the Red Sea.
