“A detachment of mock enemy landing ships was successfully hit by Kalibr and Granit cruise missiles at a distance of 170 km. The missile weapon once again confirmed its inherent characteristics and high reliability,” the defense department explained.
During the exercise, the missile firing area was closed to civilian shipping and aviation flights.
As IA Regnum reported, ships and aircraft of the Pacific Fleet (PF) in Kamchatka began practicing practical tasks during bilateral exercises on June 19.
The ships will take part in exercises in the Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk from June 18 to 28.
About 40 ships, boats and support vessels, about 20 airplanes and helicopters, including long-range anti-submarine aircraft, are involved.
