[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] An Iranian strike on targets inside Pakistain have killed two children and maimed three other people, the Pak government has said. Pakistain's foreign ministry issued a statement confirming Tuesday's attack, which was first announced by Iranian media reports that were later withdrawn. It called the attack an 'unprovoked violation' of the country's airspace, with the strikes reportedly targeting bases of Sunni Death Eater group Jaish al-Adl.

It said: 'Pakistain strongly condemns the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran which resulted in death of two innocent children while injuring three girls. 'This violation of Pakistain´s illusory sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences.' 'Pakistain has always said terrorism is a common threat to all countries in the region that requires coordinated action. 'Such unilateral acts are not in conformity with good neighbourly relations and can seriously undermine bilateral trust and confidence.' Two Pak security officials said the Iranian strikes damaged a mosque in Balochistan's Panjgur district, about 30 miles inside Pakistain from the Iranian border. The foreign ministry said the three maimed were girls. Balochistan has faced a low-level insurgency by Baluch nationalists for more than two decades. Baluch nationalists initially wanted a share of provincial resources but later initiated an insurgency for independence. Iran has long suspected Sunni-majority Pakistain as hosting murderous Moslems, possibly at the behest of its regional arch-rival Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. #5 Tripwire to conflict? A prudent course of action would have us observe from a great distance, whilst they continue to relieve themselves on one another. My standard foreign diplomacy response. Yes, I remain the master of non-interventionist redundancy. |
