“Surface forces, submarine forces, naval aviation, and coastal troops are successfully completing their missions. You know that the exploits of our naval infantry practically never leave the screen of central television,” Sokolov said in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel.
The 810th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet was awarded the Order of Ushakov, becoming perhaps the first naval infantry unit in the history of the Navy to receive this award, the admiral noted.
As Regnum reported earlier, Kiev stated that Viktor Sokolov was among the Russian officers who allegedly died as a result of a Ukrainian Armed Forces missile attack on Sevastopol on September 22.
